My bad. My Japanese handwriting is admittedly not great. But it's at least close to how doulingo writes it? Probably not the best source to go off of... It is also a pretty old sketch. These aren't the final designs anyway. I'm thinking that when I drew it, I had just started doulingo and got excited to write characters without really researching it deeply. If I was to finalize that design, I feel like I would have been more careful with it. As is, at least it's just a sketch.

How do you decide what asks to use?

Is the ask relevant to what's happening in comic?

Is it entertaining?

Will it solicit an interesting reaction from a character?

Is it a question that multiple askers seem curious about?

Will it NOT derail whatever is happening in comic? Or if it does, then is what's happening in need of being derailed?

If most of these are answered with a yes then you have a fair chance at having your ask chosen.

And specifically if you're one of the Most Common Askers (ClimaxStriker, WalterTeigan, MiaMouse, etc) then I tend to hold them up to a higher than normal standard than regular contributers. Like, if two similar asks are sent in, and one is sent by ClimaxStriker, I will choose the one sent in by the lesser known asker. But even with that handicap they still get in. I think they've just been at this the longest and have a good feel for what I look for in asks.

Yes. True. I've even mentioned the vampire thing before in a deep down ask. And I remember that chi is a type of limited magic "regular" humans can do. It's like... the thing that lets people break boards and bricks in karate. Energy flowing through the body that gets released at just the right time with focus. Magic in the blood also helps the body heal. I remember that Adrian was able to switch her offence and defence stats. I think that's magic related.

That said, there's wizards who can unlock their SOULS and use spells and other humans who can't. that's the main distinction.

I'm going with the afac canon. I'm not sure I remember what the rule for that was. I think each independent personality gets its own SOUL? For example Clover would have 3, one for the glad head, one for the sad head, and one for the mad head. I could be wrong though.

Yeah, it's guards. Knights are too fancy. Too monarch appointed. Title oriented.

The captain of the Guard is a title you get by earning it. And the captain then decides who can be part of the Guard and who needs more training (or cooking lessons). Who should be in combat? And who are better off in sentry duty.

Aoandon. Light 100 blue lanterns and tell a scary story. At the end of each story, blow a candle out. Each story is scarier than the last. Until finally, in the dim light of the last candle, you weave a tale of pure terror and blow the last candle out. Smoke rises and darkness falls. Out of the shadows a figure born from fear dressed in a white kimono with long dark hair and pointed black teeth grins at you.

Aoandon are not monsters in the traditional sense (Toriel, Sans, Hapsta, etc), but creatures of the void summoned by heightened human emotions[fear]. The lantern ritual blurs the lines between this world and the void, allowing them to enter if the ritual is completed. They are mainly curious. But sometimes mischievous and nasty. They like the taste of fear and creating more fear. They're in it for the thrill, not blood.

They have been known to kill, yes brutally at times. Usually to get a reaction out of others. But they generally prefer just scaring the crap out of people. Because survivors tell ghost stories. Dead people don't.

If they kill, a person's fear flares and then is over. They prefer a long slow stream of fear. Lurking in shadows. The movement in the corner of your eye. A reflection in the mirror down the hall. A grainy image in a photograph.

Those they haunt feel cold, drained and lethargic. Often complaing of mysterious illness. Prone to night terrors and really bad sleep paralysis.

Once summoned, they are hard to get rid of. They don't really die as far as anyone knows, but are repelled by sunlight, happiness and genuine laughter. If a family full of love, light, and laughter moves in to a place they lurk, they will likely leave to find a new haunt or may even return to the void. But as long as the gate is still open, they may find an opportunity to return.

Toriel did get the sweater. As in the one Frisk made. It's in the family photo. That doesn't mean Asgore can't have his own sweater. One of his friends (probably sans) saw it at a store and said, oh yeah, Asgore would love this. And bought it for him.

Based on Sneasler since Sissy is based on Salazle. [@walterteigan gave me the idea by saying it would be funny to base her off of a Pokémon since Sissy was based on one. And then I spent a while figuring out which one would fit.]

Gabi [Gabrid], 15, she/her. Daughter of Gabriel and Astrid. [Distantly related to the Dreemurrs] Asriel's big sister. Will mercilessly pick on her little brother. Claims it's to toughen him up. "Big kids don't cry!" Dislikes humans. Against the idea of Asriel and Chara dating. Looks up to monsters like Flowers who take a stand for monsters against humans. Likes a sort of 80's punk look? Used to walk Azzy to school, but now Chara does and it makes her mad. (Even though she used to complain about it.) I think her SOUL trait is perseverance, but I'm not 100% on that. I feel like Justice works for her too?

She feels like "what if young Toriel was a delinquent in school?" And I'm pretty satisfied with that.

Gabrid is less hard-core than she would have you think. She loves her little brother and is really protective of him. "Hey! Listen up squirts, the only one allowed pick on Azzy is Me! So scram!" She mainly reminds me of Susie Deltarune. But less of a gremlin. (Would not eat moss.)

Into skateboarding, rock climbing, Avril Lavigne, P!NK, BMX. School of rock. GTA. Smashbros. (Or whatever this world's equivalents are) punk rock, with a side of catchy pop. Like- Barbie Girl, but also the metal cover of Barbie Girl. Afraid her friends will find out her soft side.

Regarding the ask about whether Toriel could breathe fire, it depends on whether the Dreemurrs have dragon ancestry or Asgore has dragon ancestry. Did the swap keep the trait with the family line and give it to Toriel, or did it stay with Asgore?

Family stays more or less the same for most people (chara/frisk, Mk/Asriel being the major exception). So if someone has a dragon ancestor, they should still have a dragon ancestor. That would mean Asgore.

However, I stand by that it is possible for Toriel to at least look like she breathes fire. If you can shoot fire from your paws, you should be able to shoot fire from your snout? Right? It is not true "fire breathing" because it doesn't come from the lungs. But it can be an effective intimidation tactic or helpful if you have your hands bound.

That said, Toriel probably would not do that unless she absolutely had to. And shooting fire from something other than your hands can be difficult. The main issue being aim. This technique is only recommended to those who are really good at controlling fire in the first place. Toriel qualifies.

Toriel and Asgore both used fire magic a lot in Undertale. Considering Toriel's reputation as a cold, emotionally distant queen in a standard Underswap, wouldn't it make more sense in the swap to make her good at cryomancy?

She is not much colder or emotionally distant than she is in undertale. (Especially now) This is not the standard swap. I think fire will be fine. Besides, how will she bake her pies if not by fire magic?

I almost decided to make him blond with blue eyes as a reference to 1940’s germany’s idea of the master race to further highlight that this guy is a piece of shit, but decided that orange looked better on him

i will note that angel (and demon) monsters are not from either heaven or hell. they do not take orders from God or the devil. at least not in the way one might think. that said, i don't see why they can't *think* that they do.

U_U he did not survive. They hunted dragons fiercely during the war. But he was a fire dragon in this world. And his Title was Rafael Everburn the Jaw Breaker. Not because he littlerally broke Jaws but because of his knack for making super hard but delicious candy. Especially peanut brittle.
