Finally finished my visual-kei inspired illustration of Kokichi from Danganronpa V3. When I saw that there was a Kokichi Fashion Week online and one of the prompts was visual-kei, I totally freaked out. A chance to combine one of my all-time favorite characters with my dark bangyaru history of following around VK bands in Japan? YES, PLZ!!! 💜🖤

Materials used: micron pens, Pentel brush pen, fineliner pens, watercolor brush pens, white paint pens, and gold paint pens on Bristol paper

SHOOTING WITH @zerocoolarchive 03/04/2023

before

Today I met with Will to shoot some snaps in Notting Hill. It was wonderful to debut against the new whitewall that is becoming the new mainstay ov Will's stark style documents.

it was a fridge-cool out and I got there about an hour early #timeblindness #overestimated. Its magical to wonder aimlessly around the place I dont think id been alone before, half-awake, feverish, weeping and not sure why im there. upon meeting we cycled thorugh several spots, firstly the white wall then three streetside locations. Entertained and ecstatically out-ov-my-comfort as Im cooed by confused 20-something bros on the street, i try to stiffen my caffiene/adrenalised muscles into each new pose. we were intermittently blessed by a beam ov sunshine amid the chilling breeze and the gaze ov passsers by.

As will be captioned, I am wearing a black NewBreedGirl baby tee with white teddybear graphic, Punk Rave poncho with long braided tassles a hood at this elegant gothic lace trim. the double-belted wrap skirt with side pocket is also from Punk rave, armwarmers-Poison industries, studded belt, sock suspenders, and shades all from ebay(as cheaply as I could find). stockings, cut up Pamella Mann tights and Doc Martin chelsea boots.

as above, some ov this shots are giving big diva energy. which i never expected to see and was the serendipitous spark ov realising an untapped aspect ov myself :3 . outside this cinema the perspective lended itself to looking out into the middle-distance, as you can see with the ended I was playing with below. The hair isnt quite styled quite how you would imagine(or that I'm used to) from this silhouette or from my references. but til now i've always had trouble retaining volume from getting ready in the morning to the moment ov the shot. it feels me with a terriying paranoia that the effort I put into styling counts for nothing against the elements and gravity and my own negligence >_< . This shoot was perhaps the first occasion where the snap surpassed my catastrophising and was gracious spare the shame ov feeling like I failed to deliver or that everything collapsed inward when it mattered ^^.

after shooting, Will was gracious enough to talk me through someone I had asked him about separately. lately id being curious as to whats required ov a creative director and where to start if I could see myself in that role. We went to the local Cafe Nero and he slid through a couple example ov projects and the trajectories they took from conception to boards, to logistics to shooting to promo. Im very glad I did that because Ive struggled with asking for help and advice but some ov this insight that I needed, people are more than willing to help where they can.

After a very enthusing and amusingly reminiscent coffee talk ov hearing anecdotes and me taking notes, we hopped back on the tube and went our separate ways. althought I didnt have plans for the rest ov the day, so just to go back home---- I would be glowing for the rest ov the day.
