Finally finished my visual-kei inspired illustration of Kokichi from Danganronpa V3. When I saw that there was a Kokichi Fashion Week online and one of the prompts was visual-kei, I totally freaked out. A chance to combine one of my all-time favorite characters with my dark bangyaru history of following around VK bands in Japan? YES, PLZ!!! 💜🖤

Saiouma week 2023: Reincarnation/Fashion
Love Across The Universe
"Maybe you and I were lovers in a past life!"
"No matter how many times I'm reborn, I'll be no match for the likes of you."
"Wow. Maybe I was born into this world just to meet you, Shuichi."
Boom! This piece turned out quite nicely. While the prompt can mean drawing all sorts of AUs, I wanted to stick to ones closest to canon or with ties to it (so LATU, pregame, postgame, HPA/UTDP, and phantom thief)
Small detail but I tried to differentiate some of their hair styles a bit, sometimes trying to tie it to the context of the AU, for example Kokichis purple tips in the postgame one are faded (altho it isn't as clear in the end product)
btw I always found it interesting how Kokichi consistently makes remarks tying his life/fate to Shuichis on an almost spiritual level, do other characters in LATU do this?

3: Did you have a character you hated at first, and then fell in love with? Who and why?
Quite a few actually lol, at first I really wasn’t a fan of Gundham, Tenko, or Korekiyo, and then now over time I’ve grown to adore each of them lol.
Kiyo was the first I changed my mind about, basically what happened was Circus comics and I were working on an AU that so far hasn’t seen the light of day, and we were splitting up characters to design and neither of us wanted Kiyo, but Circus ended up with him. But she really didn’t want to use him so was pitching just killing him off but I said fine and traded her Kokichi for Korekiyo, and then over the course of developing his design and place in the story I inexplicably got super attached to him lol, and that’s carried over into all my works with him.
Tenko was similar in that I didn’t really like her much until I had to use her in an au, this time it being the remnant au, because she’s actually really fun to write for lol. I still think her cannon outfit is really kinda dumb looking but now I just consider that a side effect of her being a fashion disaster lol
Then Gundham was mostly because I read a really long fanfic centered around him that was half present day him recovering from despair and half flashbacks of his time as a remnant and it was really well done so then there was just a week where he would not leave my head and I was just drawing him over and over. He’s a silly little guy lol

Hi! Whether you’re new to my dumb corner of Tumblr or a longer-term follower who just hasn’t particularly noticed (or cared) how I’m doing my thing here, I thought I should sum up my basic principles for this blog in a (somewhat?) useful fashion.
1) I try to always post spoiler tags for EVERY piece of official Danganronpa fiction before discussing any spoilery info OR sharing spoilery artwork. Why? Because it only takes a second to tag posts for people, and you never know who is new to the fandom/hasn’t gotten around to everything yet/is trying to still remain pure on certain subjects.
For your spoiler-blocking needs, the tags for each are as follows:

2) I reblog (and occasionally even do original posts of) A LOOOOT of fan art here, but I make it a point to only share things either posted by the original artist OR which are shared with the permission of the artist. I had it impressed upon me earlier in my Tumblr career that some artists legitimately don’t want their stuff shared on other sites without permission, and I try to always respect that. (And yes, I realize that just saying “permission obtained from the artist” or something is HARDLY a foolproof system. We’re on the honor system here; we can only assume such disclaimers are honest.) If you catch me sharing art that is copied or posted by someone other than the artist without any expressed permission, please let me know — I’ll take it down!
3) I’ll almost always respond to asks submitted to me, but I’m sorry if it takes a while. I’m typically WAAAAY behind on such things. Sometimes it takes me a few days or even, rarely, weeks. Sometimes I just don’t know what to say at first. But sometimes I’ll respond ASAP because the ask is easy to answer or just ignites a bunch of thoughts within me. Or on rare occasions I’ll, uh, never answer because I couldn’t think of anything to really say (sorry?) or because the ask is basically just a troll.
4) I sometimes post asks/commentary that are very critical of certain characters as people (as in, not criticizing them as fictional characters or how they were written; criticizing their behavior as good/bad people). If you don’t like seeing your faves harshed on, I tag those criticism/negativity-centric posts for easy blocking, too! So feel free to block tags like #anti-kokichi ouma or #anti-hiyoko saionji or whomever. (But let’s be honest; Those are the two most common ones.)
5) This Tumblr originated as a Naegiri-focused one, actually. That’s not something that comes up too terribly often these days, but.. you can definitely still expect me to heap extra attention on any Naegiri-centric content I come across (or, in rare instances, create myself). :) So... that’s just a heads-up.
6) If you came across this user handle elsewhere and are wondering if this blog is run by the same person, I can only confirm that the Hopey McHope on AO3 and the HopeyMcHope on FF.net are, in fact, me. Anyone else you see by this name might be the same person as me, or it might not. I guess you should just ask me here.
7) If I blocked you... I probably assumed you’re a bot. If you don’t have ANY posts or ANY reblogs or ANY profile pic or ANY heading wallpaper? I have to assume you’re a bot; it’s a problem around here. If you’re not a bot, please do something, anything to make your account look like a real person’s. Say two words on your blog, change your blog title to be ANYTHING else, give yourself a profile pic or even a header image that ISN’T the default... just, anything.

Korekiyo's freak carnival (act at 8:30 pm, contains despair themed rides like despair carousel, pink and green bumper cars, helter skelter, drop tower, swing ride, monokuma/monomi/monokubs teacup ride, at night the actors go roguelike scare actors including ultimate despair. The actors are kiyotaka the smartest man in the world, sakura the strongest woman in all of japan, mukuro and junko the zaniest and craziest trapeze pair in history, syo the bloodthirsty knife thrower, yasuhiro the magician, peko the swallowing swordswoman, gundham the snakecharmer, nagito the impaled, izuru, kaede the piano playing baton twirler, ryoma the escapist, korekiyo the ringmaster, kokichi the contorting liar - he bends the truth!)

Miu Iruma desperately needs an Assistant, and who else better than her trustworthy robo- I mean boyfriend. (An K1-B0 x Miu Iruma fanfic)
This was requested by anonymous
"My system doesn't seem to comprehend how this is going to work, it's beyond my reccomended use of electricity."
"Ahahaha! Of course you won't understand! Only someone with golden brains like me could ever know!"
The inventor proudly shouted across the research lab, an lab filled with metal and blueprints, her lab, Miu Iruma's lab. Yelling with fake confidence at her very trusted assistant, who was now doubting his own decisions.
Miu has been working on an rocket ship for now, a very beautiful rocket ship. She wouldn't normally make this stuff, she has better ideas, such as something that could help humans ride a scooter while sleeping, she called it slooper. Yet, she found herself wasting weeks on this clever machine.
It all started with Kaito Momota. He decided that when he's gonna go to the moon, he isn't going to do it with some classic, old-fashioned rocket. No, he wanted something big, something grand, something everyone will remember him by, his own rocket with his name on it.
Now unfortunately, he couldn't do it by himself. He needed someone who knew more about this stuff, an expert. Someone who builds stuff everyday out of passion and love for mechanisms and machinery, just like how he loved space to his very core. Who else was better than that then the very sexual professional, Miu Iruma, the ultimate inventor of Hope's Peak academy. But maybe asking Iruma about it isn't always the best idea....
Now Miu couldn't just give anything to the public without testing it, without making sure it would be something outstanding. She couldn't test it herself, of course, what if something dangerous happened while inside of the rocket? She wouldn't be able to fix it then! Therefore, Miu needed someone who wouldn't get affected to things such as poisonous gas, or the smell of oil, or all of the overwhelming electricity inside, K1-B0 or Keebo...or Keeboy...or kebab...or whatever clever nicknames Kokichi comes up with!
K1-B0 couldn't say no! His lovely girlfriend asked him something she is very passionate about, in his sources it says that refusing something your partner really adores will hurt them emotionally and will make them lose affection. K1-B0 doesn't want that!
So he agreed, no matter how much he would regret it, because love meets no boundaries even if it straps you to a chair and explodes you along with the rocket itself, right?
Which brings us here, outside of the Ultimate inventor's research lab, with an gigantic rocket towering over them.
" 'Ya ready, Kebaby?" Miu seductively whispers in her boyfriend's ear, which inevitably flusters K1-B0.
K1-B0 shyly nods as he gets pushed onto the chair in the massive rocket by it's creator. As soon as his back hits the chair straps are appearing and locks K1-B0 into the chair. With no way back, he accepts his fate.
"Ooooh, you look so lewd like that, Kebaby! All restrained and unable to move...mhmm"
Her laughs were faded out by the sound of the metal doors loudly closing, leaving no way for the robot to escape from his prison.
Some time passed, which seemed like an eternity. Suddenly, K1-B0 felt the ground move. He felt pressure. He felt the flames rise from the rockets mechanism, from the outside. The rocket was finally moving.
The rocket rose into the sky; camouflaging into the pastel sky.
"Oh, Kebaby! Where are 'ya?"
Suddenly an ridiculously loud bang was heard from both inside and outside of the ship. The lovers both knew what this is. It was just their regular explosion of Miu's creations.
Hypnotizing hues of gold, vermillion and orange were splattered across the blue canvas of the endless sky.
"M-Miu? O-Oh, I guess that invention didn't work either, huh..."

The moment Kokichi gets genuinely pissed off, after Shuichi lies, is so so scary I’m so glad it freaked you out as much as it did me. Chapter 4 is nothing but pain.
HONESTLY
And it’s strange because, you know, I’m still not 100% certain on him, but I have to say one of the most interesting things I’ve noticed is how hypocritical he is on lying - but not in a ‘oh, it’s different if it’s me ~’ kind of way, but almost like, no, no, I’m the Ultimate Supreme Leader™, you are the Ultimate Detective, so lying and deception are tools I’m allowed to have in my arsenal and you are not. Stay in your lane!!!!
… And if you don’t, I’ll take away your power myself. And then he literally does! Like damn, what a power move Kokichi - I’m still recovering.
