Next up: tester slots open for this c. 1910 dressing jacket pattern!
Antique size 52 - the max bust is 60.5” (154cm) & max waist is 56.25” (143cm), but there's supposed to be a bunch of ease so the suggested wearer bust is 52” (132cm) and waist 42.5” (108cm).
...I know I made this blue and the OG garments seems brown, but I swear it reads as quite blue in person. The striping is blue and the flowers are white, so the brown ground fades away.
This was a really exciting recent find - a factory-made garment with the size label intact!
Pattern is available here:

Crafting side of tumblr this was in my grandma’s sewing kit. You can’t see it from that angle but the last third of that long-ass needle is flattened.
I googled and it might be a leather needle?
I’m not certain because the flattened tip isn’t regular, like it looks like it COULD have been shaped like that from the start or someone could have given it this shape with a hammer and some motivation lol, like it’s uneven and bent a little.
Anyway I love my new vintage needle that could plausibly double as a murder weapon (literally that was a plot point in a book I read as a kid lollll some princess bemoaned that her skillset was useless — the book suffered from a big Not Like The Other Girls problem in hindsight — and her lady in waiting was like “depends on the needle :)” and showed her how to self-defence with a ginormous leather needle.)
