グース系 (Goose-kei) (Taken from the English phrase ‘mother goose’)
Goose-kei is a feminine and motherly aesthetic subculture that draws inspiration from vintage children’s book illustrations, nostalgia and the whimsical world of nursery rhymes. The fashion style emphasizes soft, pastel colors, with a color palette that includes primary childish colors like bright red, blue, and yellow, mixed with muted pinks and oranges.
Clothing items often feature playful patterns and prints inspired by nursery rhymes, such as polka dots, stripes, and gingham, combined with frilly and feminine details like lace and ruffles. Dresses with pinafores, oversized bows, babydoll collars and peter pan collars are popular choices within the Goose-kei fashion style. Layering is also a key aspect of this style, with dresses, skirts, and blouses often worn together in contrasting patterns and colors.
Accessories are an essential part of the Goose-kei style, with items like ankle socks with ruffled trim, colourful tights and retro-inspired Mary Jane shoes being popular choices. Bags in the shape of animals or storybook characters are also common, adding to the playful and whimsical vibe of the subculture. You could also wear wearing playful jewelry such as beaded bracelets and necklaces, or wearing vintage-style hair clips and hair bows.
Hairstyles within Goose-kei tend to be simple and girly, with loose waves, pigtails and braids being popular choices. Some members of the subculture also incorporate playful hair accessories like bows, scrunchies, and hair clips into their hairstyles. Makeup tends to be natural and understated, with a focus on creating a youthful, innocent look. Soft blush, natural-looking lip gloss, and a hint of colour and shimmer on the eyelids are common makeup choices.
Overall, the Goose-kei aesthetic is all about embracing the playful and kitschy elements of childhood nostalgia, creating a fun and lighthearted style that is perfect for those who want to inject some whimsy and joy into their everyday fashion.

The Barbie lore timeline is a little vague; Barbie was originally developed as a "teen fashion model" but as the line grew and developed she was increasingly positioned as an adult with a career. Technically as Barbie has run for president multiple times, she must be over 35 (unless the rules are different in Barbieland). And as this change has occurred, other characters have been introduced to fill the role of the teen kids can look up to that isn't yet quite an adult - characters like Skipper and Jazzie.
As a result Barbie has settled into the public consciousness as an older character, so I was surprised to stumble upon this Happy Birthday Sweet 16 Barbie from 1974.
Tumblr media
At the time of this doll's release, Barbie had been on the market for 15 years - so it seems as though it was intentionally released in early celebration of Barbie the brand being 16.
This particular doll had accessories so she could have make-up applied and her hair brushed and scented - so she is all dressed up for her 16th birthday party, of course!
Tumblr media
The make-up applicator actually has a surprisingly complicated looking mechanism. I mean, it's certainly not beyond understanding - but I think a modern toy would be more likely to use a simple brush or sponge on a stick rather than the applicator shown above.
Tumblr media
This vintage ad shows different outfits as a part of the Sweet 16 collection apparently released as an 11 piece set but it is much harder to find good quality pictures of those.
Barbie's sale price of $3.87 in 1974, incidentally, correlates to approximately $24.15 today.

Koisenu Futari Production Journal ⑩ (translation pt. 1)
part 1 of 3 | part 2 | original article here
this is kind of long (and it's only part one!) so I'm putting it under the cut. if you catch any errors, let me know!
Hello, I am Sayaka Takahashi, the costume director of Koisenu Futari.
In a drama, the costuming of a character plays the fundamental role of adding realism to a characterization. In addition to that, however, I think costuming expresses a “background” that can’t be conveyed by the dialogue or storyline alone, and gives viewers the chance to dig deeper into the characters.
I especially tried to keep this in mind while styling the characters for this show.
Like many, I first heard of the existence of aromantic and asexual people while working on this show. Although there were many new surprises in this regard, reading through the script and understanding the characters better helped me to understand that they were all very fascinating. I soon began working on expanding upon the impressions I got through the costumes.
Approachable and somewhat delicate, despite their strong sense of individuality—in order to convey this impression, I used a variety of colors in the composition of each character’s outfits. The costumes needed to be heavily emphasized in order to come across as colorful in a show with lots of location shooting, but I tried to add color freely without getting boxed in by that.
I will specifically explain the costuming processes of Sakuko, Takahashi, and Kazu.
⚫Sakuko’s Costumes
When styling Sakuko, I tried to ensure that she immediately came off as a bright and likeable character.
At first, I developed a soft, fluffy look using pastels and muted colors, and incorporated recognizable trends such as frills, see-through fabrics, and puffed sleeves in order to create the image of a girl who has fun with both her work and her fashion.
I also expressed her sociable nature using the colors of her jackets and the balance of her backpack. However, after her encounter with Takahashi, she begins to realize that she had been subconsciously changing herself to suit the needs of the people around her.
When Sakuko goes from realization to acceptance, we see her world become more vivid and colorful. This is when her clothes and accessories begin to gradually change. We decided that she had liked rather large earrings even before her realization, and used those alongside her backpack to emphasize her individuality.
While the outfit she wears to visit Takahashi’s home for the first time is a normal commuting outfit, the balance of color used to express her joy and excitement at finally being able to relate to someone, as well as the vigor with which she innocently barges into the house, makes it one of her main looks.
And in episode 3, the coat Sakuko comes across during the shopping scenes in episode 3 becomes a vital part of her awakening to a newfound sense. For this scene, we looked for something very impactful and something that, above all else, suited Sakuko the best. Ms. Kishii looks very good in vivid colors, especially red, so we unanimously decided on this bright red coat during the costume fittings. This coat becomes the start of Sakuko’s discovery of a new part of herself as she begins to try out clothes and accessories she had never chosen to wear previously.
Starting from episode 6, there is a clear change in Sakuko’s appearance, where Takahashi’s grandmother’s influence can be seen. Her style begins to broaden as she begins to embrace vintage clothing and accessories, such as brooches, and begins incorporating more masculine elements. Specifically, we introduced elements that we had been avoiding up through episode 5, such as second-hand clothing, denim, primary colors, black, and large earrings.
I hope we were able to convey the relief and freedom Sakuko feels as she chooses to wear the things that she likes without having to care about what others think of her.
thanks to @dollopheadsandclotpoles and many others for their kind words of encouragement - I hope you enjoy!

Hey! I was wondering if you could link some masc, toddler and children cc, if not thats ok i totally understand:D, i hope you have a great day/afternoon/night!
Hello! 💕 Of course, that's no problem at all! I'm just going to make a long list with some creator recommendations if that's alright with you! I will warn you... it's a long post lol. I went into my downloads folder and pulled creators that I noticed appeared frequently. Obviously there are probably some great creators I missed, but I did try to feature as many as I could think of!
Note that I'm a maxis-mix simblr, so some of these might lean alpha (with the exceptions of hairs, I exclusively use maxis match hair). But if you are against alpha all together, just ignore those suggestions obviously haha!
more info below ↓
Tumblr media
@darte77: just scroll down their patreon posts, they are one of the holy grails of my masc sim cc.
@gorillax3-cc: so many good masc frame clothes on their website.
@qrqr19: hairs!
@johnnysimmer: hairs, lots of great hairs (has child versions of their hairs, too!)
@christopher067: a few simple but fashionable masc frame tops and bottoms along with a wide array of masc frame accessories (jewelry that usually works on both m-frame and f-frame).
@plushxsims: clothes, pants chains and belts, kind of edgy and I like that (leans alpha).
@sforzcc: even if I'm doing a "vanilla" playthrough, their cc usually stays in game lol. The pants and shirts variations are my favorite. Added bonus that the t-shirt variants are perfect because you can have a group where they all wear matching shirts but have the realism of reflecting personality (one person might wear a crop and one might not, someone might roll their sleeves someone might have holes in their shirt etc. but they can all have the same design and I like that personal touch of realism for like werewolf packs and such but I digress).
@softerhaze: specifically this pack they just put out. Great basics, very versatile, looks good on a wide range of masc frames.
@wistfulpoltergeist: lots of versatile male hairs and accessories.
@ceeproductions
@liliili-sims4: huge section of masc cc (even has a male cc pack). Love the unisex scarf accessories.
@amelylinaa*: does upload on simsfinds/simsdom, so warning for that, but lots of good clothes.
@aharris00britney: Obviously they make a lot of fem frame cc too, but I have every single male item they've ever created in my game because it is really well done.
@dyoreos
@gorillax3-cc
KK's Sims 4
@okruee: some of my favorite male hairs
@wyattssims: has two menswear fashion packs with a lot of content in each, just really good maxis match pieces.
@evellsims and @regina-raven both have some great goth maxis match cc that has fem frame and male frame variants, so it's versatile and not so "in the box" of atypical "average-joe" jeans and flannel, if you're into that!
@the-crypt-o-club: More punk/goth/edgy staple pieces for masc sims. Really unique cc with a ton of personality and versatility.
@clumsyalienn: they do a good mix of male and female cc. I have everything they've ever put out in my game tbh and their masc hair and clothes are versatile (they even have some great accessories for male sims as well).
@joliebean and @ice-creamforbreakfast: again, masc and fem cc. But their stuff is great quality and unique, they really hit formal wear for dudes, a category which I think is lacking in game imo.
@happylifesims: they have some great vintage pieces that also work for more intellectual or professional masc frame sims.
@pralinesims, @greenllamas: these two have a wide variety of cc but their beard packs for male sims are my go-tos because they have varying thickness and textures.
@simandy: all of their cc is great, but specifically this pack for male sims is a must have. The hairs in it are *chefs kiss*.
@igorstory: lots of facial hair
Tumblr media
Gonna admit this section and the kids section might look short but that's because a lot of toddler creators also create child cc and likely fall in the "additional" category below!
@casteru: you literally can't have a cc rec list for toddlers and not include them, as they cover a wide array of basics. To me, they are the golden goose of toddler cc.
@rebekhanasims: cute clothes, great accessories (pacifiers, bonnets, hats, headbands).
@thecrybabystore
@georgiaglm: has some child pieces sprinkled in, but mainly toddlers.
@powluna
@ravensim: hairs, a few cute accessories like a crown, missing shoes, etc.
Tumblr media
@madlensims: a lot of fem frame cc, but they have a ton of cute toddler and kids stuff, too (accessory backpacks and clothes).
@daisy-pixels: clothes cc. Super easy to navigate their patreon as you can just go to their "child" tag and download what you like.
@onyxsims: they do toddler cc, too! Huge variety.
Simiracle
C-Cerberus-sims: hair conversions folder HERE (their account doesn't exist on Tumblr any more). I pretty much exclusively use their hair conversions tbh.
@tommeraas-cc: has toddler cc, too!
@maytaiii: hair conversions and accessories (their crown and little face band-aid they just uploaded is so adorable).
ADDITIONALLY (specific things that fall in multiple categories):
@nucrests: child cc packs and loads of masc frame cc.
@simkoos: similar to nucrests, they have a good variety to child cc and masc cc (but they also have a few toddler items as well. The child items are my favorite though as they are unique and versatile).
@jius-sims have two children and toddler shoe collections that I recommend, and they also have two men's shoes collections!!
@lazyeyelids: they have a lot of great child cc and teen-elder masc frame cc.
Some of the old CC sets by @plumbobteasociety cover toddlers, children, and masc frame sims (I have cottage garden and rustic romance in my game). Obviously they have been inactive for a while, so hairs are missing the new swatches but the clothes and accessories are still very much worth it.
@rustys-cc: mentioning them because while they do make a lot of fem frame cc, they also have a sprinkling of hidden gem child and masc frame cc that is unique and well made (hairs/accessories/and outfits).
Vintagesimmer has some great cc for kids and toddlers that I enjoy, but it can lean alpha/maxis mix so if that's not your thing I'd stay away, but still thought they were worth mentioning!
@giuliettasims makes great accessories for fem sims, but for toddlers and children too.
Skin Details, overlays, presets blurb: I didn't really talk about these things because I consider them to be in their own category; I'd have to make an entirely different post on my genetic cc (I find everyone has their own method on this that works with their style). Additionally, a lot of skin overlays for masc sims aren't made specific to gender. This is usually true with age too, in the case of toddlers and children. However, I will note some general things I like that might fall under this category:
This hair overlay by @zombietrait changed my life because it helps unify the dark hair swatch more than anything or make the dark brown swatch true dark brown and etc. If two hairs in the same swatch don't match, this almost always fixes the problem.
THIS gray hair overlay by @sunnybelloria (works for fem sims, too) is necessary. Also THIS graying beard accessory for masc sims by @igorstory is my fave.
Paint/dirty hands and face makeup by @aroundthesims
Holy crap that was long lol but I hope this was helpful ❤️. I think I'm at max for links/tagging and I don't want Tumblr to have a crap attack, so I'll stop here. Anyone feel free to add on to this or reblog with your own additional suggestions!
Thank you for your ask!!

Characters mentioned: Eren Jaeger, Mikasa Ackerman, Armin Arlert, Jean Kirschstein, Connie Springer, Sasha Braus, Marco Bodt
Warnings: none
Tumblr media
Eren Jaeger:
110% got to where he is now style wise because of Mikasa
Some gorpcore going on
Now a lot more comfortable trying different types of pieces and layering
Doesn’t do much with anything outside of dark neutrals
When all else fails he goes to his baggy leather jacket
When he feels a little spicy he will add a tie to his white button up and layer it with a leather jacket
Usually will go to a baggy pair of cargos and oversized tee for class
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mikasa Ackerman:
Mikasa definitely dapples into grunge fashion with a little touch of acubi
She is an entire thrift flip and sewing GOD, she knows how to tailor and make certain thrift finds to her taste. And even makes her own clothing
LOVES layering and always always knows how to make it look so cohesive
Looks like a fashion design student but isn't...if anything she makes the fashion design majors on campus QUAKE
Distressed tights and leather platform enthusiast

Armin Arlert:
Our soft boy always
won't catch him outside of anything that isn't knit or cotton
always will prioritize being comfortable and breathable for school
but never makes it look bummy
Loves a good loafer every now and then. Stays stacked with sweater vests, cardigans, and button ups
Definitely didn't take notes from other dudes he would see in cafes while he would study
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jean Kirschstein:
Sticks to basics, that aren't basic looking but more so timeless and effortless
Anything neutral he is all for
Loves a good button up tank combo
Can catch him with an army green shoulder bag at almost all times on campus, in his head it's a 2 in 1. Solid for carrying his sketchbook and supplies but also just a good add onto all his fits
Has a plethora of leather jackets
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Connie Springer:
The Conman is the street style expert
Definitely has moved past his hype beast street style phase
Takes pride in knowing that he is, if not always one of the best dressed dudes in his classes
Inspirations from Tyler The Creator and Steve Lacy
Loves experimenting with layers and accessories, but has learned that less is more
confidently believes he singlehandedly brought back jorts on campus
wears a crossbody at all times
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sasha Braus:
Moved out of her grunge fairy core, mini shirt & baggy jean phase
Loves pulling inspo from 90s and 2000s downtown girl fashion
Layering and knit wear are her faves
You know she will always prioritize comfort but not at the expense of looking cute
Forces Connie to take daily fit pics of her in the library
Has a claw clip in at all times
Loves stripes and other cute patterns
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Marco Bodt:
Clean boy aesthetic personified
Loves adding a good jacket over anything
Cute boy in the library core lmao
Cuffing his jeans is his trademark
sticks to classic vintage chuck 70s converse, reeboks, or old school vans
That cute boy who instead of wearing a backpack to class, wears a tote bag or shoulder bag instead

towwn: back-to-school shopping. 🛍️halloween superstore pop-ups.🎃thanksgiving + holiday decorations.🎄the leaves may be falling, but autumn is *the* season of skyrocketing consumption. 📈
we know it’s nearly impossible to make zero fall purchases, but we can get creative & craftier about what and how much we really need. before you buy anew, try a few tips courtesy of sustainable fashion expert hanna le of @re.statement, an #upcycledclothing marketplace (online + irl).
1. upcycle your own old clothes: paint your jeans & denim jackets, they make a great wearable canvas. 2. swap old clothes: visit your favorite vintage boutique or thrift shop to use credits & exchange your own retired items for new-to-you pieces 3. make a wishlist before buying: online browse, then circle back and edit the cart to only purchase the most basic 1 or 2 things you need. 4. visit a tailor: bring an old dress, skirt or top to a trusted local tailor to hem or remove sleeves. voila! just like new. 5. personally contact designers: dm an eco-friendly, small batch designer & ask if they’d rework a custom piece using a beloved item you already own. 6. trade clothing: host an intimate clothing swap soiree or invite a friend over to swap clothes and accessories 1:1 you both no longer wear. 7. mend or embellish your own: adding a funky patch to cover a stain or hole lends new life to a damaged item you still love (check out @nosopatches!)

here’s the Google translation of it behind the cut!
The young British actor is the new global ambassador of Phantom Perfume Rabanne, a fragrance with which he acknowledges feeling quite identified. Since he became known globally with Stranger Things, this actor so physical and intuitive has come to represent a kind of generational idea of glamour as incontestable as it is far from orthodox canons. We wanted to talk to him about fashion, creativity and David Bowie.
A room (hotel room?) Ramshackle, a mattress without blankets and many vintage televisions tuned in to unusual channels: these are the ingredients of the new Phantom campaign, Rabanne's robotic perfume, for which the brand has counted on Charlie Heaton (Leeds, 1994) as an image and global ambassador. The young actor, whom we all met thanks to the series-phenomenon Stranger Things, has been gaining an interesting career over the last few years, appearing in such interesting films as No Future or The Souvenir Part II (both in 2021). But what was your previous relationship with a brand that defines you, in a press release, as an electrifying presence and a call to shape the future? It will be better to ask himself.
I was familiar with Rabanne before working on this campaign," Heaton acknowledges, "but only as a perfume brand. When they offered me the possibility of being their ambassador, it was when I began to know more about everything there is to know about them, their history and their values. I became a big, big fan of their clothes, their accessories and, in short, everything they have done over the years. I think I was really impressed with what they came to represent during the sixties, which I think is incredibly cool. That was the moment when I fell exhausted, and it's been great."
Directed by filmmaker and photographer Matt Lambert, the new Phantom ad invites us to a most suggestive nocturnal universe, as its protagonist explains: "The campaign plays with two concepts that seem very powerful to me when they are united: Paris and the night. Together they create something beautiful, because we all know that the city of Paris has a different energy when the sun goes down. The name of the fragrance also seems very evocative to me: Phantom. I'm still trying to guess what it can mean!"
What does seem to be clear is that Let's Dance, David Bowie's song that serves as a leitmotif for the entire campaign, "should be considered one of the best in history. It would have to be on all the lists! During the shooting we didn't stop listening to it in a loop, so part of that energy is present in the images."
A familiar face
Since Stranger Things was placed in our lives seven years ago, Heaton experienced a transformation overnight. Suddenly, the young interpreter was a celebrity who, due to his unmistakable features, was going to be very difficult to go unnoticed. How have you lived through that whole process? "I think I have a very good relationship with the fans. I especially notice it when I'm traveling, and you have to keep in mind that, due to my work, I travel a lot to different parts of the world. I have been to Spain many times, for example, but the truth is that most of the time I spend it between the United States and my native country, England."
I am aware," he continues, "of having appeared in a series that has been seen so much in so many parts of the world has made me a recognizable face wherever I go, which gives me an opportunity to meet very different people. I'm lucky, because it has been a genuinely positive experience in most cases. It has allowed me to live very sweet moments with the fans, so I can't complain."
Apart from meeting new people and traveling, Heaton declares that "my greatest source of admiration is, I would say, to see the people I admire work. I also love discovering a new movie, or just having conversations with my friends. I love being able to talk to them about acting, confess to them what my desires are within this profession and listen to theirs. So I would say that these are small day-to-day inspirations."
Before dedicating himself full-time to acting, Charlie Heaton was going to be a musician. In fact, he was in a rock group (as a drummer) and then joined another psychedelic, so we talked about something more than a hobby. "Many people know that my two great creative passions are acting and music," he confesses to us, "but lately I have also gotten into ceramics (laughs). Yes, it may have become a passion, although I still don't know how important it's going to end up being... At the moment, I'm very excited about it, so we'll have to wait and see."
Fashion too, of course," Heaton clarifies. "It has always played a great role in my life, I have always loved being able to express myself through the clothes I choose to wear. But I find it strange to talk about this, since I would never go around considering myself a stylish person... I don't think so, but at the same time I do know that I am able to appreciate good taste and good style in general."
As for whether or not he follows some style routine, the actor is more ambivalent: "It depends on what I'm going to do at all times. Or where do you plan to go, then it is likely that you will not follow any routine of style per se. For me, the great thing is when you do these things for yourself and only for yourself, instead of to go to a gala or impress someone. Dress well just for you, because you feel like it. But no, the truth is that I usually wear comfortable clothes in my day to day... A lot of worn jeans. I would tell you that this is my most emblematic garment."
We can almost visualize it with them as he moves to the rhythm of Bowie on some Parisian street.
