Goretober 2022 Day 19: One Mans Trash

[BEGIN TRANSCRIPT]

The fourth time we met, I found them sitting in a box.

I’d been going through the motions for around… 4,000 years then, I think? It was getting harder and harder to keep track of the exact number…. 

I’d been doing my usual thing- hopping, living, fighting, dying, hopping again… it was… getting a little boring, if I’m being honest. Things were starting to get repetitive and blur together... I was having a hard time keeping details straight. Most of the time it really didn’t matter, though. People just thought I was kinda spacy, or that I was making some sort of joke when I didn’t know about some huge thing in the current-universe zeitgeist… I learned not to get myself down about it. How was I supposed to know when nobody had bothered to tell me? It was interesting to see the different things people could come up with, anyway- I was always receptive to retrying something that was the same, but a little different, just to mix up the monotony of immortality…. Well, almost always…. You get what I mean.

[chuckling] Larry gave me such a hard time when I didn’t know what they- it, was....

Lisa had called us up at the house and told us that she was cleaning out the lost and found box for the apartments, and if we wanted to, we could come look through it before she chucked it in the church donation bin. We weren’t about to pass up free stuff, so we went to sift through the trash and see if we couldn’t find some novelty treasures.

There was a lot of what you’d expect in there- some old moth-ridden coats and hats, cheap umbrellas, a few mismatched shoes and random papers… we thought our quest would be fruitless, until we dug to the very bottom and saw a pair of heart-shaped keychains sitting together in the dust.

“Oh, shit, no way! Check it out…!” 

Larry plucked one of the keychains out of the box. It was purple with a small, bat-shaped charm attached to the loop mounted in the side.

“I haven’t seen one of these things in forever!”

“What is it?”

“Dude, come on…”

“What? What is it?”

“...It’s an S.O., dude….”

“An ‘ess oh’…?”

I picked up the one that Larry had left in the box and turned it over. Its scuffed-up plastic shell was pink with white buttons, and it had a little scratched up screen in the middle. There was a strawberry-shaped charm attached to the loop mounted in the side.

 It looked… really familiar….

“You can’t be serious, man… It’s an S.O.- you know, a ‘simulated other’...? They were the big thing around Christmas a few years ago…?”

I’d only been hanging around in that timeline for about a year at that point, so I wasn’t up-to-speed on the hot holidays trends of seasons past. 

“Uh… oh yeah, I think I’ve heard of those…”

He rolled his eyes and then looked his over for a second.

“Dude,” Larry snickered, “… let’s start em up, it’ll be hilarious…”

“Uh, okay…?”

I watched Larry tap on the heart-shaped button below the screen. A sing-song tone played. He tapped one of the side buttons. Another tone. A few seconds later, he threw his head back with a laugh. 

“Holy shit, awesome! I got me a keeper, bro, look-”

He turned the keychain around to show me. There was a little pixelated bust of a bored-looking girl with heavy eyeliner and choppy, blunt-cut bangs bobbing on the screen. A speech bubble with a skull, then ellipses, then a purple heart came from its mouth.

“Ahaha, got me a hot goth g.f. on the first try! Nice…” I had to admit, she did look like his type, in a lot of different timelines….

“Alright Sally, your turn. Let’s see what ya get…~”

I imitated what I’d watch him do with my own keychain. I tapped the heart-shaped button, a sing-song tone played, and a selection screen came on:

Larry told me to select a new game. I did. The S.O. icon faded in and stayed in place for a second. When the ellipses beneath it reached four dots, another tone played, and a little pixelated bust appeared on the screen. It had dark hair, styled in braids, pale skin, huge eyes with long lashes, a little button nose, a big crooked smile with two pixels that I assumed served as lip piercings…

A speech bubble with an exclamation point, then a heart, then scrolling text came from its mouth.

Deja vu came over me. My heart fluttered and my stomach sank. I realized then why the keychain looked so familiar.

The text read:

Hi, I’m Mitch, your new S.O.! It’s nice to meet you 💕

…. There they-.... it was….. I’d found them again, in a sense… they had been waiting for me right under my nose, sitting in the dark, and now, they were right here, in the palm of my hand… [traces his palm with his fingers]

Larry looked at the screen and said, “Hey, she’s kinda cute… you wanna keep her, or do you wanna try it again?”

He had no idea how loaded that question was….

“Uh, yeah, I’m… I think I’m gonna stick with this one.”

“Nice. Ha, look at us- we have giiiirlfriends now! Ahahah…” He dangled his S.O. by the chain and laughed, jingling it around like the toy it was. 

“Dude, we can go on fuckin’, like, ‘double dates’ and stuff, show off our ‘ladies’… oh man, this is gonna be a riot…”

I said, “Yeah, this’ll be… a lot of fun.”

I cradled my S.O.-... I cradled Mitch, in my hands, and held it as gently, and as firmly, as I could. I wiped a little of the grime from its screen, and another heart emoji came from its mouth….

It was them, and as usual, it felt the same… just a little different.

Auld Lang Syne

Some sentimental thoughts after the cut.

Two months ago I thought Rosalind Myers would be "just" a one night stand during Val's journey to find a cure; instead they celebrated the holidays together (1, 2). Rosalind reignited my passion for the game, and made me truly understand superlatives like "screaming crying throwing up" and wanting to eat glass.

I'll forever love Mitch. He helped pull me from the worst depression of my life, led me to Discord and Tumblr, and ultimately people who have become dear friends. My love for him prompted me to write a novel-length drama/romance smut about guilt and loss when I hadn't written in years. No one can ever supplant him or the place he holds in my heart.

All that said... Rosalind upended my world. She rewired my brain, I don't know how else to put it. Perhaps she's the result of a lifetime of latent lesbian attraction, perhaps it's being closer to that age myself and seeing such representation. She offers something that Mitch never can — a reflection of a woman of a "certain age". More shocking to me that I'm exploring a ship with someone other than Mitch is the subject herself. Ros is quite the opposite of Mitch, in nearly every way, but that allows me to explore different sides of Val through her.

2024 will be filled with Val & Ros, but that doesn't mean the end for Mitch & Val. Val's canon is still The Star ending, riding off into the sunset with Mitch and the Aldecaldos, plus there's the NOGLY sequel in the simmering stage; plus corpo Val's story is still being written. They'll still be around, just off doing their own thing in the corners of my subconscious, waiting for me to get back to their stories.

ARE LORNA SHORE BRINGING DEATHCORE BACK?

Lorna Shore's growler-in-chief, Will Ramos, answers your questions on goblin screams, dream collabs and singing with a camera down his throat

SINCE WILL RAMOS joined Lorna Shore in 2021, the US deathcore band have been on a mission that's seen them leapfrog to the forefront of their scene. Will's mind-boggling vocal abilities have turbocharged them, and Hammer crowned last year's sprawling symphonic fourth record, Pain Remains, "the most essential deathcore album of the decade". Last summer, Will sang with a camera down his throat so we could all see what the hell was going on in there, but now, in his biggest challenge yet, he takes on your questions...

What's your favourite type of scream to do? - N4turalbornkll, Twitter

"They're called 'tunnel screams, like if you're going through a tunnel. But I like calling them 'goblin screams'. It's like two different tones going on at the same time. It sounds really cool."

What bands got you into metal? - Ben Ryan, Facebook

"Linkin Park was definitely one of them. Meteora... freaking Hybrid Theory! I listen to albums from my childhood all the time - I still love them and they still hold up; Bullet For My Valentine, Lamb Of God, AFI... I had a couple of friends that listened to metal that I used to play videogames with, and one of the bands they played me was AFI. One song, Affliction, was just straight-up screaming the entire song. I was like, This. Is. Crazy?' Then my friend said, 'Dude, here's a bunch of bands that you should check out?' It was Lamb Of God, Whitechapel, Linkin Park."

How long do you think you'll be able to maintain your iconic screaming voice? Ten years? Thirty? Forever - Nettels_, Twitter

"I haven't fallen off yet. I don't know. Hopefully forever, but every day I make a joke, I'm like, This is the one. This is going to be the last one, this is it!"

What other genres do you love? - Jordan Bonvicino, Facebook

"I don't listen to a lot of metal so much anymore. I was looking at my Spotify Wrapped from last year... It was ap, psychedelic rock, indie music, and metal was fourth. I love bands like [Japanese singer-songwriter] Joji. I love Mac Miller. I love Drake. And I love sad music, so stuff like (post-hardcore artist] Bilmuri. They're metal, but they're also very sing-y. And I like that because now that I've been doing so much screaming in my life, I want to get better at something that's not screaming - so, singing. That's the next tier for me right now."

Are Lorna Shore bringing deathcore back? - Ed Burns, email

“I don't know if we're 'bringing it back'. We're doing really good for ourselves, and I love that people are hopping onto the train. That's incredible. Ilove that it's inspiring other people to even do more metal music. I just do what I do and I can't think about what I'm doing. I still can't look at myself in the mirror and be like, 'That's one of the big guys."

Hammer: Who were 'the big guys' to you?

“The ones that inspired me were late Suicide Silence vocalist] Mitch Lucker, Phil Bozeman (Whitechapell and Trevor Strnad (late Black Dahlia Murder vocalist]."

Do you avoid certain foods before singing, and if so, which ones? - Matt Doherty, Facebook

"I'd say eat light foods - if you eat something crazy heavy, you're going to feel very tired. I have maybe a slice of pizza, but you won't see me eating five or six slices. Ilove ramen and ramen is something that I'd have all the time when I'm on tour just because it's spicy, so it clears your nasal passages and it's soup, so it's good for your stomach."

What's your favourite Lorna Shore breakdown? - Undeado8, Twitter

"I think it would be Hollow Sentence off Immortal (2020 album, featuring ex-vocalist C] McCreery]. If we're talking about the newer stuff, Sun//Eater is definitely my favourite breakdown. It's the hardest song in the set. We have a sample of a katana [samurai sword] coming out and slicing something open. This specific sound is the unsheathing of the sword. It's halfway in, where the breakdown gets even heavier, so I just imagine a moshpit of people with inflatable swords killing each other."

Would you ever re-record Immortal? - Corey Hunter, Facebook

"I have, and I'm doing it for myself. I made a Patreon, and I told myself, I'm going to start redoing all of the old Lorna Shore albums."

Hammer: Would the band ever re-release the older albums with you on vocals?

"As a band we wouldn't - we want to have forward momentum. Art is always going to get better as long as you don't go back and start fixing things. We're like, 'What's the next thing? I'll put out Immortal on my own, but that's it."

What is your favourite song on Pain Remains? - Alex Chiczewski, Facebook

"Pain Remains I: Dancing Like Flames. It's the saddest one. I told you, Ilove sad music! You get to a point where you listen to breakdowns so many times, you become a little numb to them. For me, the only thing that holds me onto music after the breakdowns, is how do I feel about it? It's not about the melody or the breakdown. It's hearing the lyrics and I feel what this person is feeling and that it feels real. That's why I love Pain Remains I - it's the most genuine."

What is your best advice for dealing with crippling depression? - Zare Ralf Karadzin, Facebook

"Distract myself. Everyone alwavs sees me as Labradoodle Will. That's great, but I'm just like everybody out there and everybody gets sad sometimes. I dealt with depression a lot when I was a little kid, and if there's anything that's helped me, it was trying to distract myself with things Ilike to do, whether it be screaming or my little RC (remote control] cars, or playing Minecraft. Take everything day by day... conquer this day. Then you know tomorrow is another day, and you beat that day. Eventually you start putting yourself in the cycle where you'll have more good days than you have bad days."

What bands would you like to collab with in the future? - Notabumbleb88, Twitter

"Id love to collaborate with Sleep Token. They're my favourite freaking band right now. They are so incredibly good; Vessel and I have very similar singing ranges, too. Also, I Declare War, because they're just so incredibly heavy... In Flames... and Ilove Oceano - their vocalist Adam Warren is so good."

Hammer: What do you think a Sleep Token/Lorna Shore collab would sound like?

"It’d be insane. I don't know if our fans would love it, but I would. Let's go!"

What does it mean to you to be the Latino/Hispanic representation of deathcore and heavy music in general? - Shaun Fontanez, Facebook

“It's incredibly stressful. I don't speak Spanish, so a lot of Hispanic people will come up to me just like, 'Yo, dude, I'm so happy that you're here; you're Hispanic, I'm Hispanic!' I'm like, 'Thanks, man, appreciate that. I'm going to tell you right now I don't speak Spanish' and see that shock on their face. I do wish to speak more Spanish. I am a bad Puerto Rican... Or maybe I am the perfect Puerto Rican, because if you know anything about Puerto Ricans, half of them also don't speak Spanish. So, shout out to Puerto Rico."

How does it feel to have such a sudden and rapid growth in notoriety? - Christopher Andrew Ryan, Facebook

"It has been very big. Honestly, it's an incredible thing to see. We're very happy that we're all able to live off the art that we're putting out, not a lot of people can sav that. We're so caught up in the race, though, we're focused on what's next so that we can stay up here. If we fall off, you can only get to this point once, and then you lose it. We're trying to ride it for as long as we can."

How difficult was it singing with a camera down your throat? - Andy Pierce, email

"I didn't think it was going to sound good at all because I was so numb and mucus-y. When you’re doing vocals, you don't want mucus because it gets in the way and you can't even feel anything down there. It's almost like if you sang out loud and you just covered your ears, and you couldn't hear what you're putting out. That's what it felt like! Hopefully it'll be better next time (now I know what to expect!)”

Christmas hadn’t been the same since they came to LA. Not that his parents had been great at Christmas before that, but his Meemaw and Pops usually picked up the slack. They made sure Reggie got presents he actually liked, and clothes that actually fit. They took him to the mall to see Santa when he was little, even though the nearest mall was over an hour away. And whenever his parents inevitably started to argue (not fight, not yet, they had only turned into full blown fights after the move), Pops would take him out to give the horses their Special Christmas Treat. Usually some apple peels or carrots.

Pops had also been the one to sit him down and tell him about the Magic of Christmas and the truth about Santa. Thankfully, because his first winter in LA, there were no presents from Santa under the tree. There’d barely been any presents at all, but he’d heard enough fights about money, late at night huddled in his bed, to know not to complain.

Christmas after they came to LA just got worse over time. The arguments turned into full blown fights. They stopped getting a real tree, then stopped setting up the fake tree, and finally, his mom just stopped helping Reggie decorate at all. (At least they still let him decorate.)

There was the year both his parents forgot to get him a present, after spending a lot on each other, which crashed them straight out of the honeymoon phase and back into another fight. He‘d gotten his bass guitar around New Year to make up for it, though.

These days, Reggie tried not to be home a lot around the holidays. They still did Christmas morning, kind of, Reggie making Meemaw’s apple pancakes and exchanging only-sometimes-heartfelt gifts. He did his best to get his parents something he’d thought they would like, and he kept a smile on his face, even when he unwrapped the Star Trek shirt. It was the thought that counted, right? At least the shirt fit.

Most years, he just wandered around town, pretending he was on his way to some awesome party, smiling and nodding at families in the street. Or he stole they key from under the flower pot at Luke’s house, crashing in his room even though Luke and his parents always visited his grandparents for Christmas. The Pattersons always had a pretty tree, and he liked to stare at it, even if he didn’t dare turn on the lights lest the neighbours call Mitch or Emily.

This year though, he had a place to go. Because Julie had invited him to Family Christmas Dinner. And then dragged him inside and made Ray invite him too, when he started talking about how that was like, family time and he didn’t want to intrude.

When he got to the Molina house and knocked, Carlos opened the door, shouting happily. “It’s Reggie!” He pulled Reggie inside, talking a mile a minute about the new videogame he’d gotten for Christmas and how they’d finally have enough people for multi-player mode with him and Julie.

God he loved the Molinas.

He gave Julie a hug, and passed Tía the tin of cookies. “I know you said I didn’t have to bring anything, but I made cookies,” he explained. And honestly he hadn’t felt like sharing them with his parents. He’d left them a few, but he’d made them for the people he really wanted to spend the holidays with. “It’s my Meemaw’s recipe.”

“Thank you, mijo, that’s very kind of you,” Ray said, catching him in a hug. Ray hugs were still kind of new, after Father’s Day, but they were also kind of the best.

Dinner was amazing, and he basked in the feel of sitting at a family dinner and not being worried about when the shouting would start. The food was delicious, the pre-video-game trash talk was g-rated but thus extra hilarious, and it was just everything Reggie had been missing at home for the past couple of years.

After dinner, while they waited for the ice cream to thaw enough to eat and munched on Reggie’s cookies (and man, did he glow under the praise from Victoria and Ray), Carlos jumped up. “Can we, dad? You said after dinner, it’s after dinner!”

“Fine,” Ray said, chuckling as Carlos raced out of the room. Reggie blinked, wondering if it was video game time, but then Carlos came back, carrying three brightly coloured stockings. He handed one to Julie, put one on his chair, and Reggie leaned back so he could give the last one to Ray, but it ended up in his lap instead.

He was about to pass it over, when he saw the name embroidered on the hem. “You got me a stocking?” he asked, shocked. He hadn’t gotten anyone presents. Julie had told him not to. They were already doing the Band Secret Santa when Luke came back, and she knew his pocket money was non-existent.

“Of course,” Ray said, like it was nothing. “You’re family.”

He did eventually get to his stocking, but not before hugging the daylights out of Ray, and then Julie, and Carlos, and Tía.

Some new people followed in the last couple of days, so I thought I'd post some links related to this project- The images here evolved out of a project called *Grotto*, which is a multiplayer browser game where I turned my family tree into a 1000+ room dungeon. It's a little confusing and maybe not entirely fun, but it was the first place I started developing the tile-art style on this blog. also, to answer another question, yes I was Mitch in Dazed and Confused. I am a cranky old man now. I don't generally try to make movies any more because this stuff is cooler. Mitch: he takes care of the little snack bar and also is the pretty face of the place.

Norman: the bodyguard of the place! If Pascal needs help to control angry gamers, he would be there.

Stoffel: he is at the game store. If people want to buy or rent some games, he is the one who takes care of it.

BONUS:

Arthur Leclerc: he comes once a month to install new games on the computers and inform Pascal and Stoffel from the news in the game world.

Clementine: Casual athletic wear sort of vibes. Either jeans or sweatpants, cute baseball jerseys, sports bras, etc.

Louis: He wears designer brands and enjoys some jewelry here and there. He alternates between classy understated looks and flashier prints.

Marlon: Honestly not that different from his canon look. He wears a lot of casual clothes and owns maybe one suit (passed down to him from his dad).

Violet: She wears t-shirts and jeans. Hoodies are a must for her and she has a couple of those. As for shoes, it would be some basic sneakers. She also has some nice sundresses but she wears dresses more for special occasions than every day.

Mitch: V-neck shirts and muscle t-shirts. He also vibes with wearing jeans and only wears suits during special dates or events. Had a snapback era but eventually stopped.

Brody: She wears a lot of bright colors. Mom jeans and pastel tops are what she vibes with and cute flower jewelry.

Ruby: Classic southern style clothing. She wears a lot of flannel and jeans. She also loves wearing dresses and dressing up when given the chance.

Aasim: Has cardigan vests and nice dress shirts. For a more casual look, he wears plain colored t-shirts and maybe some fire-inspired fashion too.

Omar: Pretty basic look overall. Tends to stick to purple, greens, and earth tones.

Sophie: Snapback caps, ripped jeans, loose short-sleeved t-shirts with a jacket around her waist. Chill vibes all around.

Minnie: Plain white t-shirts, leather jackets, black pants. Likes wearing multiple rings sometimes. Also sometimes has music-themed clothes.

Tenn: He would probably wear Science Dog shirts, really vibes with dark blue shirts. He wears whatever his parents and sisters buy him and looks good in everything.

AJ: He wears Disco Brocolli merch clothing all the time. Also wears jackets to look even cooler. Sometimes he steals Clem's jackets and wears them even though they're way too big on him.

Willy: He has shirts that are all about his favorite shows, videogames, and random mascots. He has some silly hats too and pants with lots of pockets.

James: He would have a lot of really interesting shirts. All of them have their own flavor of weirdness and fashion to them. Very artistic.

"Okay, so I just have to sneak up, touch their shoulder so they turn to me, and then kiss them?" Kiyoka asked, wanting to make sure she had memorized the little plan to take you off guard made by the Sunshine Trio (Su shined Quartet if you added her in that little group)

"Yup yup! Satsuki thinks they're gonna blush like craaaaazy!" Satsuki giggled as she spun around while saying that.

"Suki, don't do that!" Teruya exclaimed as she stopped the clown before she could even get dizzy. The blue head just giggled.

"Alright! Wish me luck guys!" Kiyoka beamed as she waved at the three before going on her little quest to find you.

Which was surprisinly easy, as you were near the fountain, falking to Mitch. She grinned when she saw you. She was about to call you, but then remembered the plan.

"Oo- I better get going N/N, gotta meet up with Kuwata and beat him at videogames, see ya!" Mitch told you before he patted your back and left. Which made you now sit alone on the bench, just dozing off to do your little thing. Kiyoka snickered to herself as she snuck behind you, she couldn't believe the plan was actually working. She definitely had to thank Teruya later. She stood behind you, watching you before tapping you on the shoulder.

"Hmm? What's-" you asked as you turned your head around, only for Kiyoka to interrupt you with a kiss. She pulled away just a second later, giggling at your red face.

"Hehehe!"

Security Cam Moon Au’s Relationship with the other animatronics: Part 4: DJ Music Man (and the minis)

This is Moon’s longest and strongest relationship. Due to his size restricting him from leaving the arcade, he is often a bit out of the loop in terms of current affairs and such. While he was sad to hear that Foxy was gone, Foxy never really visited the arcade much (mostly because his hooked hand made it difficult to actually play any of the videogames), so he and the DJ didn’t have as much of a personal connection. Honestly, the DJ was sadder for how sad everyone else was—especially Moon, since he saw the toll all of this was taking on him. But he never pulled away or blamed Moon when the others did. Not then, and not after Bonnie, either.

Moon loved to come in and play the arcade games during his breaks from security duties—another indication of just how good he always has been with small and delicate tasks requiring the use of his hands. And he was basically the fun entertainer/babysitter for the mini DJs, which the big guy was grateful for whenever he wanted to take a nap or spend some time with a little less sensory input from the noise and flashing lights. And Moon liked making and listening to music with the DJ, and was his primary source of news. After all, Moon’s job as security meant that he had to make at least one visit basically every night, while the others only came sporadically. Even Sun didn’t come as often as Moon did.

And after Moon’s other relationships started dissolving, the DJ was pretty much his safe harbor and only friend outside of Sun—and he is who Moon would go to when he didn’t want to be alone while Sun visited Monty.

He’s also pretty much the only one for whom Moon’s general behavior didn’t drastically change while infected. Moon didn’t have to worry about keeping him safe from infection—since it would have been pointless given that the DJ can’t leave the arcade—and he had no real pent up rage or jealousy toward him, so from the DJ’s perspective Moon was simply moodier and had changed preferences in games to the more violent ones. And wasn’t really talking as much.

He got really worried about Moon when Moon stopped interacting with him as much post-infection (due to the trauma and feeling guilty about everything, Moon often just did a basic sweep of the arcade without pausing to talk, oftentimes waiting until he knew the DJ would be asleep). And everyone else was either dealing with their own problems, upset with Moon, a combination of both, or had no idea that the DJ and Moon were as close as they were. So no one thought to ask him for help or inform him of the situation.

Actually, the DJ may or may not have even been aware of the situation at all until Moon was already lost in the cameras, because I can see one of the last straws that pushed Moon into retreating being the DJ having to go offline for a while due to routine maintenance—which would take quite a while longer than everyone else’s due to his sheer size, not to mention the hiring and firing scandals going on in the background.

Moon probably also wrote/attempted to write him an apology/goodbye letter the way he did for Sun, but likely chickened out the same way he did for his brother. And he probably had no idea just how much his friendship meant to the DJ, or how lonely the DJ could get when he wasn’t around, until after the fact.

Goretober 2022 Day 21: Discovery

Another late post because we got caught up and lost track of time.

Mitchie(4) has really been enjoying being plugged into the laptop. A lot. It’s been looking through the files Mitch(6) had saved on it and ‘talking’ to me about them by opening and editing text documents. It’s really different from the prompts and choices we usually talk through. I’ve been teaching it about the picture files it’s asked me about, and it’s making all kinds of new connections and discoveries. All it knew before this was what was already in its program- objects and actions were just icons and words to it before this, but now, I’m showing it what those words and icons actually mean.

That’s a forest with a mountain in the background. It’s a place outside with a lot of plants and animals.

That’s a couple hugging. People sometimes wrap their arms around each other to show affection.

Before, ‘forest and mountain’ was a background image option. ‘Pancakes’ was an item that made its hunger bar go down. ‘Hug’ was an action with a lot of affection points. It now has images, and me to explain what they are. 

I’m starting to understand just how ignorant and isolated it was before this. Until a couples days ago, it had never seen, or heard me. It had only known me as a name, and all it knew about me was the choices I made about and for it. Now, it was learning outside its parameters for the first time, and it wanted to know everything I could teach it. Each question has led to more questions, more conversation, more interaction, more affection points. Its stats are all maxed out. It is so ‘happy,’ it chirps and sings for hours at a time. After a while of answering its endless questions, it dawned on me that it knew something I had never told it about.

The laptop has a built-in webcam and microphone, and I’d used it to take a picture of us the second day the glitch had me ‘here’ with Mitch(4). By connecting Mitch(4) with it, I’d given it sight and hearing, and I was the first thing it ever saw or heard. I hadn’t realized it had been watching me since.

-Literally a month before the events of the first game he was smoking weed with Mitch, and Mitch was like “Bro isn’t it so crazy that you can just. Change your gender if you want too” and Marty’s like “Wait you can what” and then proceeded to have a Gender Crisis

-he’s very forgiving usually, even if the person isn’t sorry. This is partially due to his horrible memory, and he mostly just forgets what they do after a day. There are some exceptions however….

-throws bricks at cop cars for a hobby

-chews on EVERYTHING. Shirts, water bottles, himself, you name it, he’s probably chewed on it

-has a dog named Rat and a rat named Dog

-Only reason he’s in Scarlett and The Shakers is because Clover joined, and like I said he feels the need to forcibly insert himself into everything
