So I RECENTLY stumbled last week, upon, a podcast I LITERALLY CANNOT NOT think that KitTy would adore listening to.

It's called the "Red Web" podcast (can be found on Spotify, Apple or google Podcasts) and it's hosted by two best mates, where one who explains the mystery/case and one that goes in blind reacting (like the listener). The ambience is soooo iconic and they release an episode every Monday and I think it's a podcast that Ty and Kit may super duper be into. Kit would naturally get into it bc it's a hyperfixation of Ty's and a heavy topic of conversation Ty would wanna talk about. But then Kit would genuinely be into it as well.

A lot of them are internet mysteries and like internet ‘true crime’ stuff, but there are also IRL crimes and supernatural cases they cover. Most of it isn’t well known except for the occasional mainstream crime covered like DP cooper the guy that jumped off the plane claiming he had a bomb on him and was never found again or identified etc. I can see Ty get really invested in their reddit forums, think about the cases, and be extremely knowledgeable about it all.

The Pod has gained so much popularity, that it even uploaded a Lofi ambience hour long pod of themselves that I can TOTALLY see be the backdrop ambience to when Ty is just existing about. Maybe listening in his headphones and what not. for the vibes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7Yaqc94g7Q

Fish Wishes!

Ok so I’ve thought about this for awhile and I’ve seen a couple of these guys in fish stores and done the research to figure out what’s going to be happiest in my 15G nano tank.

Honey Gourami as the centrepiece fish

When I see these guys iRL, they’re always inquisitive, swimming right up to things and then giving them a little pat with their feelers. They’re cute and interesting to watch. Generally considered a peaceful community fish but Reddit has been full of stories of them bullying their own kind until they die :< As they’re happy solo, I think I can give them a stress free life being the centrepiece fish of the tank with a few easygoing nano fish friends.

I love the idea of Sparklers. I fell in love with the YouTube series from Foo the Flowerhorn where they set up a tank with sparklers and amanos. In reality I think it’s very risky for the amanos; I’ve had LFS guys and Reddit posts give me anecdotes about the sparklers eating shrimp or killing them off slowly by beating them into hiding. Let’s be honest, I do this hobby to relax. I’m not going to have violence in my tank! Such a shame as they’re so pretty. The image of these guys with their turquoise scales and a backdrop of a bunch of baby blue jelly shrimps would be soo cool but I know there would be suffering so it would never be worth it.

Excuse the shitty iPhone vid. Sometimes you just have to go to see some fish iRL to figure if you’re really going to love them.

I’ll tell you what, every time I see these guys in real life they make my heart flutter with how stinking cute they are. They have beautiful colours and are so small. The ones I’ve seen in store have been about 0.8” in length.

Chilli rasbora

These are another species that always catch my attention in person. Their little faces and big eyes are too cute to handle and their body shape looks like a miniature red shark. They’re also micro predators so they would have a great time gobbling up the creatures and loose eggs in the tank. Thankfully their mouths are too small to do any damage to shrimps!

Extras;

When I think of all the gross lil non-fish creatures I would enjoy in a tank, my mind always gravitates to cherry shrimp or amanos. With amanos I think i’d like the peace of mind to rely on these lil dudes to clean up the nastier hairier algae if it turns up.

However, a hoard of cherries swarming the tank and filling it with bright colours would also be so fun! Blue jellies are the cutest but bright orange ones look like you’ve got a tank full of pre cooked shrimp or living cheetos.

Anyways, that’s my fish wishes! Im not going to get every one of these fish, just a centrepiece fish, some skrimps if compatible and a small shoal of nano fish.

Next weekend I might go to the LFS and see what I can find, I’m so excited!

hiya!! sadly it did :(( anything with Alice's music got copyrighted, even in the solo Lighter190E/Pearl vid. 'This is How We Do' counts towards Alice's music, so it took the video down T^T. I want to recreate it soon, but I will have to exclude any kind of Alice songs. I might even just upload some Lighter190E songs itself. Or maybe I'll upload the files to a google drive? But we'll see! It's nice to see others enjoy Alice's and Rina's music :]

All things considered, for all my griping about it, tumblr really is the best social media site for fanvids.

Twitter limits the length of videos to 120 seconds- id have to cut down a lot of my vids to post them, and it’s hard for them to be found at all unless you’re already known in fandom because their search/tagging system is so bogged down with unrelated shit

Youtube is obviously built for videos but it’s overloaded at this point and creators are cursed to be beholdened to the whims of the algorithm. Plus it’s way too public and owned by Google now. And if it gets picked up by the copyright bots it’ll get ads placed on it that you don’t see a penny from

Tiktok not only (mostly??) restricts you to making videos vertically oriented, pretty much every video I’ve seen has the audio slightly off! It’s so bad! How are you going to have anything on beat like that!!

Facebook is you know. Facebook. Connected to IRL name and terrible to share around unless you’re in a fandom group

Reddit you can get noticed but again it’s restricted to individual subreddits and things are essentially lost after a time

Tumblr I can upload most fanvids with no problem (they do restrict by size and length but it’s usually more than enough for the length of a song for example), keep it organized within my tagging system, AND I know I can get fandom ppl to see it by tagging/people can see it if they’re not logged in

crocheting (at least amigurumi)! i realized after seeing pics and vids of people’s beginner projects that like,,,, i never really had that shitty early stage? my first project was a slightly deformed whale that i made in one afternoon, although ppl tell me it still looks really good. and then that same day i made a second, perfect whale. and from that point on my works have been basically lovely all around. people always compliment my stitches too which is btw sooooo amazing to hear every time <3

i think i get it from my mom, cause she used to sew and cross stitch a lot. and even when i was in elementary, whenever we had needlework projects i’d always be doing super well even though i didn’t practice much. so i suppose that translated to yarn crafts in crochet too! ooooor maybe i’m just a raging perfectionist idk haha

ohhh thank you :) yes! a lot more blender than i expected. this project was to teach myself blender. the 2d animation was done in callipeg and the sound was adobe after effects at my uni. i also made irl clay models and scanned them

How do you as an artist feel about AI generated art? I’ve seen so much of it lately on here and twitter and IG and I feel like it’s a dangerous thing.

Hey nonnie! Thanks for the nice question. Short answer is: no, I'm not worried abt it in the slightest and neither should you💜

Here comes the long answer. Please bear with me and allow me to use some irl examples. Short disclaimer: I'm in no way a market expert or career couch and this is my personal opinion and observations.

When years ago I was entering Foreign Languages faculty, all the internet gurus and influencers were screaming that learning languages as a main occupation is useless and soon machines gonna translate everything for us. Now, much time later, phrases like "did you do it with Google translate" became a swear, derogatory term among translators and related specialities.

Have automated AI translation programs became important part of the workflow now? Indeed, but they didn't manage to steal the work from real people. The results still need heavy proofreading, checking and etc, not even mentioning things like poetry that mostly needs manual translation, and person doing this job still needs to be perfectly fluent in the language. AI still haven't "conquered" the market and pushed human element out, but became an optimization tool.

Now many web designers and clout chasers saying all the artists will be left without work because of AI art, blowing things out of proportion to get more attention (surefire ways to attract people online - fear, hate, lust, cute baby animals).

Some of the AI generated results are pretty impressive. MidJourney kicks absolute butt when it comes to complicated backgrounds, Dall-E 2 perfectly gets all the keywords from request, and there's a new one - based off Octane Render that specifies on realistic lighting - coming out in New Year which I'm extremely excited about.

But the resulting pictures STILL need extra work put on top of them. It may impress people online at the very beginning as a fun toy to test each own's "artistic abilities", but companies and people with taste still would need professionals to work with those AI results same way translation market did. Because those programs cannot trick human eye yet. Our brains still can perceive repetitive patterns in those gorgeous AI backgrounds, and human faces made in My Heritage still have uncanny valley effect because they're eerily symmetrical. Or remember that Twitter drama where anime AI program drew girl with 6 fingers and poor OP didn't notice that?

AI doesn't understand emotions, symbolism, storytelling and many other important art things. Yes, it will generate catchy icons for phone apps like no problem and junior artists in big enterprises like Tencent would have to learn something else. But I don't see AI creating storyboards, comic, movie concepts, complicated portrait paintings/illustrations and animation fully without human involvement any time soon. I don't even mention complicated 3D render with textures for character concepts.

AI makes a wonderful tool to save time or do the work that you don't like to do. So I'd rather try to benefit from it. Here's an example of work made with MidJourney, it was fast and I had tons of fun. IMO the key is staying up-to-date, working on one's unique style, skills and nurturing your visual library - no AI would ever compare to a human mind 😄 sorry if answer was too detailed but I hope you found something useful in it!

my dreams are always strange. today i had the dream

of fire falling out the sky for 4th in my life all of which have happened in a span of a month but anyways. today it started again in like a house or something i was on the bed trying to take vids of my dog who was also on my bed. it was night time. i had a lamp on in the room so the lighting inside was very dim. my bed was right up to the window and there were like three windows along side that wall. and my curtains where open so i could see outside clearly. then i noticed my dog’s attention was focused on the sky and when i looked at the sky i was like how cute u noticed the fireworks. but then it turned into balls of fire that started landing on cars down on the street. and the cars would start catching on fire and i could see plastic melting. and ppl start screaming and running some ppl got out of their houses and got in their cars so they could drive away from the falling balls of fire that were landing on houses. and i also followed along. i got in the car with whoever was with me in the house. the dream then switches but i don’t remember to what. and i remember thinking in my dream “ure dreaming, force yourself to wake up” so in my dream i say out loud “wake up”. and i wake up but i don’t wake up irl . apparently the dream i was having was like a reality i was purposely experiencing in another life. so waking up only made me wake up to another dream 😅. and now i’m in like a coffee shop type of building. and i’m talking to some person who was next to me when i “woke up” they took this headset type thing off of me. and they’re asking me how everything was and i’m like fine. or somehting like that. i walk away and i meet up with some girl. and we’re talking and we are standing by the tall windows by the entrance of the building and she shows me a paper with like 4-5 words on it. they’re not english. and i don’t remember why she’s showing me this but i remember thinking “okay try to memorize these words bc when u wake up u don’t always remember what they are” and i’m reading and rereading the words and she’s either about to give me info about it or i’m about to say something i can’t remember and i hear my alarm go off and i wake up irl. i looked up the words but they were probably just fake words my brain made up bc google was like wtf r u talking about 😆

Long dream

So in my dream I guess I'll start here I was with 3 friends and we were walking around and eventually they wanted to create like a tiktok music vid so I start copying the dance with them as we run around, eventually I get tired and say "hey I fucked up can we re do that take AND take a break man" of the 2/3 they were a bit pissed but one was like also extremely exhausted, for them I leave to go to a Tesco, (guess I'm in the UK??) And try to find lemonade to no avail so I try getting some pastries but idfk how to do their system bc apparently I can pay as I grab the pastries, so 2 british employees help me but they're honestly pissed I'm this dumb, I get it packed and a ginger ale and had back to a car apparently that took like 2-3 hrs so the original girls had already went home and I had argument with my mom about it, but I said idgaf it's too late idk how time went that fast. There was also a point in the dream where I'm with my sisters at the beach and point out how this creep is always here in the summer, and its yoshikage kira and hes like the white van with candy type of predator. Moving on I'm back at my HS and theres this dude whose been following, akward type, I try to be friendly and I head to my apartment??? In my hs (it's like the 5th floor, granted irl my hs is just 2f no dorms) the guy tries to kiss me but I push him away bc I dont seem him like that, and somehow the clutzy shmuck stare fades away from him and he gets mad, and breaks into my room to break shit, I run away but not fully, he thinks I've left but I go in to get evidence and my now destroyed pc, I get it and sees me leaving the hallway and starts chasing me, I really quickly try to run down the emergency staircase, that goes through the busy gymnasium, I run to the athletic director office for help but hes busy on the phone, so I run over to the IT the computer parts I have now look like fuckin croutons in soup, but theres some hard drives that I could pull out to hand to the IT guy, he tries to salvage the data, i try texting some friends if I could stay at their place bc tbh I need new locks, most are away, so i head back hopefully able to barricade myself safely, i go in i kick in the closet to make sure no ones their extra and then i hear the shuffle of papers under my bed and i grab and tackle this Japanese woman that was paid by the weird dude to collect info, I had to poorly type in google translate while holding her down bc she did not speak english, and eventually I called the cops, then the environment shifted and I was basement of a home where the father was trying to kill us (I was the daughter but there was also the wife and son), I hid in the bathroom, took some type of drugs that reduced the noise of my breathing but turned my eyes like wide open and p blood shot, he entered the bathroom checking around, somehow I was able to just stand so still or crouch that his eyes just glazed over me, and he was leaving the brother comes over with a fiery orange hot fireplace poker and stabs him and pushed him into a woodpile to hold him down, we all run up to the top of the stairs, and for some reason the wife and the son agree not to call the cops bc it would ruin their public opinion and their convinced they can get him back to his senses. The end
