As you read the California law which would allow illegal immigrants to become police officers,
one might note this paragraph
“require peace officers be legally authorized to work in the United States”,
that’s one of the provisions of this immigration bill,
it will give illegal immigrants work permits.
They are here to replace you! https://exponentialthink.com/private/unpd-egm_200010_un_2001_replacementmigration.pdf

Characteristics of an urban area
Basically 'metropolitan' signifies a developed region like a town or city. There is no universally concurred meaning of what metropolitan means. Every nation has its own, for example,
China: starting around 2001 China has utilized an arrangement of 'measurable characterization' implying that the meaning of an 'metropolitan' region isn't fixed. All things considered, it can change contingent upon how the information is gathered (National Bureau of Statistics of China, 2002, and Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics, 2018) Kenya: a "developed and minimized human settlement with a populace of no less than 2,000
individuals characterized regardless of the nearby power limits" (Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, 2012) Joined Kingdom - "areas of metropolitan land utilization of 20 hectares or more with at least 1,500 occupants" (ONS, 2016) US: the US considers metropolitan to allude to two sorts of region - Urbanized Areas (UAs) of at least 50,000 individuals, and Urban Clusters (UCs) of no less than 2,500 and under 50,000 individuals (US Census Bureau, 2016) These definitions by and large allude to populace size and thickness. Alternate approaches to ordering a spot as metropolitan are by the qualities of a metropolitan spot, for example, work, land use, progressive system of settlement, and how the region develops.
The United Nations Population Division (UNPD) perceives that it is so challenging to arrange settlements, and that there is no proper definition. This is fundamentally on the grounds that as settlements develop, they are renamed, combine, etc. The outcome is that choosing what is 'metropolitan' is profoundly abstract, contingent upon how the metropolitan region is characterized, as displayed in the graph underneath. More insights concerning metropolitan development can be found on the page 'Development cycles of urban areas' on this site.
Strategies of ordering metropolitan regions. Source: UNPD, 2018. Attributes of metropolitan spots Beside the populace, metropolitan places likewise have normal qualities. Consider 'metropolitan' and many individuals consider streets, structures and framework like power links and sewage frameworks. Others will consider shops, workplaces and occupied transport centers.
Site Site alludes to the land on which a settlement is fabricated. For instance, it very well may be on tenderly inclining land, pointing toward the south, with well-emptying soil, a water supply from a neighborhood spring, and on a stream twist. These highlights would all make it a decent site for an early settlement in the pre-modern age:
delicately slanting area - forestalls flooding pointing toward the south - in the northern side of the equator, it implies the settlement will be warmed by the sun during the day (likewise great for developing harvests locally) with well-depleting soil - so it's not difficult to expand on a water supply from a neighborhood spring - for drinking and so on. on a waterway twist - gives a cautious obstruction from assault As metropolitan regions have developed, site factors have become less significant. For instance, most urban areas don't source their water locally (from springs and streams) however get it in pipes from somewhere else. In the advanced age, most metropolitan regions are as yet found in places that have great 'site' highlights, however this isn't a direct result of the elements of the actual site.
Circumstance Circumstance alludes to the area of the settlement corresponding to what is around it. For instance, a city may be situated along a shoreline, toward the finish of a waterway valley, at the opposite finish of which is a coalfield. These highlights would all make a decent spot for a cutting edge settlement as a result of the things close by:
situated along a shore - can fabricate a port for global exchange remote ocean - permits huge compartment boats to come into the port toward the finish of a stream valley - valleys are significant entries through mountains as they can be utilized for rail lines and streets close to a coalfield - a modest wellspring of energy, or potentially an item for send out Truly, a mix of good site and circumstance highlights are required for a settlement to develop into an enormous metropolitan region.

PLASTIC MENACE: A GENERATIONAL THREAT
Plastics are choking the world’s oceans, rivers, shorelines and water bodies. It is getting worse inland these days. Despite this menace, authorities in several countries have shown little or no concern to ban its usage because they believe the country’s growing is mostly dependent on plastic products. This presentation with examine this problem in Africa, effects on the environment and efforts being made to limit plastic waste by some countries on the continent. According to United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Ghana currently produces 1.7 million tons of plastic waste annually with only 2% being recycled, implying that most of the plastic waste generated ends up in the environment. Waste infrastructure has failed to keep up with economic growth, leaving its capitals drowning in plastic trash. Streets and waterways and other urban areas are regularly inundated with single-use plastics such as pure water plastic bags, water and soda bottles, plastic food containers and shopping bags.
Plastic pollution is caused by the accumulation of plastic waste in the environment. It can be categorized from micro to macro-plastics. Plastic pollution can take different forms including the accumulation of waste, the accumulation of marine litter, fragments or micro-particles of plastics and non-biodegradable fishing nets, which continue to trap wildlife and marine creatures.
youtube
Up to 12 million tons of plastics entered the ocean in 2010 alone (Jambeck et al., 2015). According to the UNPD, more than 8 million tons of plastics enter the ocean each year. For the past two decades, the Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI) in Ghana, as the regulatory body responsible for policy formulations to deal with plastic waste, has had consultative engagements including conferences, seminars and workshops with stakeholders in the industry to help deal with the plastic menace in the country.
Tumblr media
CAUSES
But what are the causes of plastic pollution?  The main cause is negligence on the part of households, businesses and some institutions. In fact, it is estimated that 80% of marine litter comes from land. It must be stressed however that the bulk of this waste mainly comes from household waste, which is poorly recycled (or not recycled at all), dumped in landfills or abandoned in nature. This waste is carried by the winds, pushed by the rains into sewers, streams, rivers, and finally end up in the oceans.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPLICATIONS
The environmental implications or effects are disturbing. This plastic debris represents chemical pollution in several ways. They contain compounds that can be chemically transferred to organisms during ingestion. Some of these molecules are potentially toxic and can accumulate in the body. Besides, plastic bags also affect the growth of crops, by hindering the process of photosynthesis in agricultural fields. Other negative effects on animals include the imprisonment of animals in nets or large debris. It is a cause of significant mortality of marine mammals, turtles and birds. A second direct effect is ingestion that concerns the entire food chain of the marine ecosystem. Researchers are now beginning to find traces of micro plastic in our food chain. There are potential side effects on humans as well. Because of the chemical additives used during plastic production, plastics have potentially harmful effects on human health. Indeed, exposure to toxic chemicals coming out of plastic can cause cancers, birth defects, impaired immunity and other world problems.
Tumblr media
SOLUTIONS:How do we solve plastic pollution?
Many African countries are talking this problem half-heartedly. However the government of Rwanda has taken the bull by the horn and banned the use of plastic shopping bags, generally believed to be the main pollutant in the country. There is the need for more plastic recycling plants using simple and inexpensive technology but most political leaders are not showing the will to do so. Besides, there should be an intensive campaign to clean our oceans and surroundings on a constant basis though, not a long-term solution, the best way to address plastic pollution is to change our mindsets and habits with this controversial but nonetheless very useful material.
REDUCE
To efficiently reduce plastic pollution, there is an evident need of reducing our usage of plastic. It means changing our everyday behaviors and not using plastic when there is a better alternative to it and only using plastic when strictly necessary.
REUSE
In Kampala the capital city of Uganda, they had a slogan: “If you can’t reuse, then refuse”. Plastic may cause pollution when poorly managed but it has lots of advantages too, such as being resistant. Many plastic items can therefore be reused or used for different purposes. Before disposing of plastic items, it is important to consider how they can be reused.

RECYCLE
Plastic recycling consists of collecting plastic waste and reprocessing it into new products, to reduce the amount of plastic in the waste stream; and the last crucial solution to consider is education, in order to increase awareness and behavioral change.

CONCLUSION
The plastic menace facing many African countries looks gloomy. However several countries are now making practical efforts to find lasting solutions to this problem through reuse, recycling and the ban of plastic shopping bags. Rwanda has set the pace for other countries around the world to follow.
