Peterborough dump + storytime 🤍 When I was in pets at home looking at hamsters I saw a book on Pomeranians and reminded me of when I was once told “God is a Pomeranian”… I’m someone that didn’t grow up religious but when I went to drama school my flatmate had found a church in London & invited me along (mainly for the free food and wine 🍷) When I was there I let someone pray for me. PIC(S) INFO: Part 2 of 3 -- Spotlight on more mega "Bomber" LP appreciation, a.k.a., my all-time favorite MOTORHEAD album of their entire late '70s catalogue. The album was released earlier this month 44-years ago, on October 12, 1979. Sleeve art by Adrian Chesterman.

SLEEVE ART MINI-OVERVIEW: "Think of rock logos and they don’t come more iconic than Snaggletooth, MOTÖRHEAD’s fanged mascot created by artist Joe Petagno in 1977. Yet the band’s most spectacular sleeve art was on 1979’s "Bomber":

A winged chunk of customised heavy metal dreamed up by illustrator Adrian Chesterman. Lemmy, "Fast" Eddie Clarke and a bug-eyed Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor are shown bearing down from the gunner cockpits of a Jerry fighter in the Blitz. Fascinated by military regalia, Lemmy insisted the plane be German: "The bad guys make all the best shit."

Chesterman explains: "I suggested the Heinkel plane. They wanted this photo-realistic effect, so I designed the thing with the detached bomb coming towards you.""
