what would it be like if we simply existed together

no expectations, no responsibility except to each other

sitting by a lake with houses we built ourselves

ok i'm still shy about it but here we go lore dump about Leshana (the new OC from last night).

A character exclusive to the TotK/BotW verse, she is a descendant of one of the Faenorins, whose parents did not have the resources to raise her and so left her at the shrine to Hylia in Kakariko. She was taken in by those who tended to the shrine, and raised devout. Even though her guardian(s) prayed to Hylia above any of the other gods, Leshana found herself observing the night sky for any sign of the dragon spirit Sirredes. She found Sirredes to be awesome and without peer, and chose to devote herself to her. As such, her D&D class would be a cleric of the twilight domain.

Leshana uses the power of the shadows granted by her piety to protect the innocent from terrors in the night, and show that darkness and shadows are not necessarily something to be feared. She emulates Sirredes by making frequent pilgrimages throughout Hyrule, wandering wherever she might see the sable dragon spirit. There is another purpose to these voyages– she is searching for a past lover, who disappeared without a trace one day.

During one of her journeys, she meets Rhoam. He's in his hermit disguise, away from the guardsmen for some privacy– praying to Hylia for Zelda's safety, and remembering his beloved Rhiannon. And then monsters creep up. Leshana goes to protect this old man from the terrors of the night– it's what she does– and then Rhoam just pulls out his double axe and wrecks house on the monsters. And Leshana goes "Oh. He can handle himself" but still joins the fray to assist with her magic.

They connect over having loved and lost– Rhoam, whose wife died only six years into the life of their precious daughter; and Leshana, whose husband vanished before they could have any children and leaving her to search fruitlessly for years. Leshana teaches Rhoam that not all shadows are evils, and that there is always some manner of purpose in the world if one takes the effort to look for it. There are discoveries for Leshana in her future as well, but I'm not spoiling those ;)

14: How important is friendship to your OC? Do they prefer to have one or two close friends or a large group of casual friends? Or do they prefer their own company over that of others?

HEHE hiiii I think it's really funny that you sent this one in because I was literally thinking about this sorta thing last night.

Friends and friendship matter a lot to Felix, but they kind of pretend that they don't care. They grew up pretty lonely, so they're not used to people seeking them out for company and they don't usually bother putting themself out there. The thing about Felix is that they really just want people to listen to them, but don't think people will. Up until working at the AF, they DIDN'T really have many people to talk to, so winding up in the friend group of Cassian, Juniper, and Monty really surprises them. It's nice to have people who are actually interested in what they have to say! (this is also why Cassian and Felix work so well in my head-) And I guess to actually answer the rest of the question yeah they're far more comfortable in smaller groups of people, but also will not wholeheartedly resist being roped into large-group shenanigans. All that is to say that YEAH having friends means a whole lot to Felix, but they also don't really know how to show it that well.

last song: I lied (with allison ponthier) by lord huron!! very nice winding down song. I've been on a real lord huron kick lately

last movie: got cozy with some tea and rewatched the iron giant last night. peak cinema and I say that 100% genuinely. one of the best works of science fiction that's out there

currently reading: just finished god emperor of dune yesterday, and started wounds by nathan ballingrud today 💃 I see a lot of people say that, with nathan ballingrud, you either like wounds or north american lake monsters better. based on the first story, I think I may be in the latter camp, but we'll see!!

currently watching: nothing, I don't really watch tv much. I guess my mom and I are keeping up with the halloween baking championship if that counts??

currently consuming: water. also I guess this isn't "currently" but I had some leftover chocolate cake a little bit earlier and it was sooooo good

currently craving: not craving any kind of food so instead I'll say that I'm craving A Break. so much. I suddenly went from one lowkey project to three new high priority projects at work and it's been burning me out in a major way 💀 they all need to be done in two weeks, so after that, I'm very excited to take a couple days off to chill
