Let's rate all Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons summer themes! Why? Because it's summer at my half of the globe! SNES - I never really liked this theme. Too busy, too energetic, too repetiteve. It is fine enough to listen too though, but it was never one of my favs. GB/GBC - It's the same melody as SNES, but with the Game Boy sound font. For some reason, it actually sounds BETTER like that. Yeah, I prefer the GBC one to the SNES one. 64 - Hmm... I am torn on that theme. Similar to the SNES theme, it feels too busy for me and the first few notes are a bit grating, but the melody is pretty catchy and entraps you to hum along. Also, the quieter part of the theme sounds pretty good. Yeah, it's pretty solid ^^ If only the loud entry wouldn't be. GBC2 - YIKES! That was my reaction when it started, but it gets gradually better and turns into a pretty enjoyable little melody, sounds very much like summer. BTN - Aaah, now we are talking! This song is just FUN! It lets you think about a fun summer day on the beach. The melody starts a bit frantic and then gets calmer for the second verse, and you just want to wave your body along the melody and eat ice cream. It's a bit short though... GBC3 - Like pretty much every entry for this game, the music is pretty yikes. It just... isn't very good. It isn't an ear grater, but also not very enjoyable to listen to. AWL - While AWL lacks a summer theme on its own, because you can only play disks in your house and on your farm, it uses a song from Save the Homeland and that one is remixed pretty well. FoMT - It's the same melody as BTN but in the GBA sound font. It sounds well enough, but it can't beat the PSX version of it! Yes, I am biased, I prefer BTN over FoMT, end me if you please. BTN was the better game and I wished SoS FoMT would have been more BTN and less FoMT. MM - My husband goes around and hums this theme when I play Magic Melody ^^ And I get why, it's an earworm! It has this absolute summer feel, similar to BtN, from a summer day at the beach you want to spend with ice cream. It has such a tropical feel and once the main melody sets in, you can't help but hum along the music. I especially love the key change at around 1.17 ^^
StH Farm Theme - Ah, it's the theme got used in AWL, but this version is SO MUCH BETTER. I love the charming little melody, the guitar melody in the background, how the melody slowly splashes along and then turns into a flute to just tell you that you are on the countryside and sit leaned against the fence on your farm while there are 30 C and you are completely fine with it. StH Town Theme - Ah, this theme is a lot more energetic and quick. While it kinda remixes the farm theme (every StH theme does that), it doesn't carry quite the same nostalgia as the farm theme. The part that starts at 0.43 is super rad though and I love this bit. DS - I never have been a fan of this summer theme. It just feels like it starts and never ends. It just goes on and on and on and ugh... it annoys me kind of. At least you can switch the music in HM DS. IoH - This game kinda manages to nail all its themes, it is such a charming little song that makes me think of a summer breeze, but it's sadly, like every IoH song far too short. HoLV - Aw, what a charming little song ^^ The bassline melody and the main melody really contemplate each other and unite into a song that sounds like you want to let your feet doused by the river on a hot summer day.
ToT Day Theme - ToT goes a very different route with it's summer theme. It's a downright relaxing song. It is a joy to listen to, for it gives you the feeling that you are allowed to slow down and do your chores in your own pace. I really like the key change in this one. Sadly, the song falls short. ToT Night Theme - It's the same melody as the day theme, but... it sounds a bit haunted in my opinion ^^' ToT's night themes all have this problem. The key change though is really good here, make it sound like a warm summer night under the stars. SI - Hmmm... it's ok to listen to, I guess, but I don't actually feel a lot when I listen to this theme. It doesn't have a very summery feel for me and actually feels a bit chaotic. AP Day Theme - I LOVE THIS THEME! Ok, I say it, that is downright my favourite summer theme in the whole series! It starts with such joyful piano notes and then the piano takes a back seat with the same three notes that goes up and down while the main melody kicks in and just tells you that this is a summer day and you will enjoy it and you will have fun doing your chores and then sit at the beach that is right in front of your farm or share a cold drink with your sweet heart. My husband also can't stop humming this theme whenever I play AP, that shows how much of an earworm it is ^^ AP Night Theme - The melody is the same one as the day theme, but played more slowly and more relaxing. While I prefer the day theme, this one is super solid as well and a joy to listen too, especially the bassline of this song. GB - Ah, a fun little theme ^^ It is very fitting for the world of the game which seems to be set in the netherlands. I like listening to it, it is a song that you want to sway to.
ToTT - I hear the first few notes of this and instantly know that is summer, that is how much this summer theme got ingrained into my mind. It is one of the more relaxing themes though and there isn't much indication that it is a summer theme actually, so while it works very well as song, it isn't the greatest summer theme. ANB - Is it the 3DS game with the best music in the series?! It is! And ANB doesn't disappoint, the summer theme SLAPS! It is a joyful little song which runs at a quick pace and lets you feel like it is summer and you want to go to the mountains and sweat while you climb out and then go for a swim in the river on your way back up. The key change at 0.53 is just GREAT and it gets me every little time I play the game. TLV Day Theme - Aw, I always liked this little theme, it is a very relaxing theme and it fits the valley that is your playground in this theme. I just liked to terraform while this relaxing music played. TLV Night Theme - Um, are we at a jazz bar? Because that legit sounds like a theme that would play at night in a jazz bar, where you sit with your drink and just chill while you look at the jazz band performing. SoS Day Theme - SoS is special, because in that game you actually CAN SWIM IN THE RIVER, so I really like that the summer theme is so enjoyable to listen to, because you can actually cool off in this game ^^ Go swim and dive while this little theme plays, mostly played with plucking instruments. SoS Night Theme - Oh, this one starts a bit slow, but gets really nice to listen to once it hits the first 30 seconds. A very relaxing song, another one that makes me want to douse my feet in water and look at the starts while I stay on the countryside. SV Day Theme - I kinda always liked this tune. It is a fun little tune that feels like summer and has a nice melody to it, but that is pretty much all I have to say about it. SV Night Theme - Ah, we are back at the jazz bar ^^ The quiet piano melody is very jazzy and yeah, that is all I can say about it. SoS 3oT - It's a nice melody and enjoyable listening to it, but I don't really feel summer with this theme, so I am a bit torn on it. I think I prefer the fall and winter themes in this game. It's really nice to listen to though like I said, so I don't mind that it plays for 31 ingame days straight. LoH Day Theme - A nice song that totally sounds like summer to me, but like the rest of LoH's music, it just kinda... splashes along and nothing really happens. LoH Night Theme - Hmmm... it really isn't anything happening in this theme. It is more a melody so that it isn't quiet. SoS FoMT Weekday Theme - It's the tune of BtN but remixed.. and... in a good way actually! This song SLAPS! I really like what they do to my summer time beach fun song. SoS FoMT Weekend Theme - God, I LOVE this song! For some reason, SoS FoMT added a remix of the seasonal songs for the weekends and festival days and this one is such a banger, I can't help but bop to it, it's so good! It just sounds so much like summer and you just want to run around and dance to it while you enjoy your day off at the beach. Doraemon SoS Day Theme - What a cute little song ^^ It is on the more relaxing side, but it clearly has a summery feel to me. The video shows Nobita napping on the beach and well, isn't that a mood for this song ^^ Doraemon SoS Night Theme - Nobita still naps in the video and well, the music turned into his lullaby I guess ^^ It is mainly a guitar solo that is played slowly and very quietly, very very relaxing. I think I am falling asleep as well... OW - Sadly no one uploaded this music... which is a shame, because it is really good and the song gets remixed depending in which country you are. I really dislike how much hate this game got, because it is actually a solid entry and has some of the best music in the franchise. PoOT Weekday theme - I HATE THIS THEME! It isn't because the melody is bad, it's that DAMN TRUMPET! Why is the trumpet player playing it so... crazy? Why are so many notes sounding off key? The song would slap if the
trumpet wouldn't be there! I love every part of it, but then the trumpet ruins my day. Ugh! UGH! I legit had to switch the music off at first while playing until I got used to this horrible horrible trumpet. PoOT Weekend theme - Oh thank GOD! This theme is without the horrible trumpet. I prefer the holidays in PoOT summer a LOT because the song is actually enjoyable to listen to and it sounds very much like summer as well.

2 | One of a kind
Series: Terror (Simon Kalivoda x OFC Fraser!)
Word Count: 2.1k
Warnings: language, mention of drug use
"No creeping around and no sneaking in. Also to call you."
Previous
Later in the day mom made me go to the grocery store with her because she didn't trust me at home if she wasn't there. "Ugh, I don't understand how you are friends with that druggie." She eyes Simon from afar. "Because he's a nice funny guy. You would know if you talked to him when he checks us out before we leave." I tell her and I get a disgusting look from her. "You need to be friends with non-druggies." She continues to talk shit about him then Kate and Denna. "I'll be right back." I walked away since I saw Kate talking with Simon. "You got off the lease?" Simon jokes. "Haha, funny." I fake a smile. "We'll she keeps making you follow so close to her." He makes a point.
"Have you been watching me since we got here?" I ask him. "Yeah, so I could pop in to give this back to you." He shows me my necklace I never take off. "I didn't even notice. Thank you." I take it and put it back on. "How the hell did it even come off? I ask myself. "Who knows it was a wild night. When I got home after walking you I felt it in my pocket." He explains to me. "Huh? What am I missing? There are a lot of holes in this story." Kate looks between us. "I got high with Simon last night at the park. We took two different pills and fell asleep there." I keep it short. "You what? Miss goodie goodie when it comes to drugs, took drugs?" She whispers shouts. "What did you give her for her first time?" Kate turns to Simon.
"Being completely honest with you, I don't remember. I just knew it was the ones that take away all your worries and make you feel like you're flying. Nothing too serious and it was only two pills." He tells her and she keeps hitting him. "You're so fucking stupid!" He just takes the slaps. "Duh." He agrees with her. "What all do you remember?" Kate turns back to me. "We played around at the park. On the swings, playset, and monkey bars. On the monkey bars, we took a different pill and that's all I remember before waking up." I let her know. "Same thing. I guess we just passed out after running around." Simon tells her.
"Oh, by the way, my dad grounded me for coming home this morning so." I let both of them know. "So I can still sneak over but just can't sneak you out again?" Simon says, making me look at him. "No, you're the reason I'm grounded, dude. No more sneaking over. And start to call instead of creeping around outside my window." I hit him as my mom comes with the basket ready to check out. Simon goes around to scan and check us out. "Find everything okay?" He asks her. "Fine." She keeps it short not wanting to have a conversation with him. When he was done he tells her to have a nice day and again she ignores him. "See you guys Monday." I smile at Kate and Simon.
"I don't want you being friends with them." She tells me as we drive home. "You can't tell me who I can't be friends with." I laugh, earning a backhand slap from her. "I'm your mother so yes I can." I just nod my head staying quiet till we get home. When we got home I went straight to my room putting on music to zone out. "What happened?" Sam comes into my room. "Nothing." I started to sketch a picture. "Tell me." She slaps my bed. "She told me to stop being friends with Simon and Kate. I told her she can't tell who I can't be friends with. It earns me a backhand so." I let her know. "Why did you do that? Just do what she says." I stop so I can look up at her. "Okay then, so you agree to stop seeing Denna then." I smile at her. "That's not what I meant." She sighs.
"You told me to do what she says so shouldn't you too then?" I ask her. "I do what mom tells me to do most of the time unlike you. You choose to be the stereotype of someone from Shadyside. Gets in trouble, doesn't follow the rules, etc." She says pissing me off. "Get out of my room and don't come back in here." I point at my door and she leaves. "Bitch." I throw my stuff across the room. I end up spending hours laying on my back staring at the ceiling wishing I had a different family at times. Mostly a new mom and sister. "Time for dinner." My dad opens the door. "I'm not hungry." I let him know. "Fine." He shut my door. I get up picking up what I threw hours ago to start sketching again.
As I was drawing there was a tap at my window. I get up opening it, "What did I tell you?" I ask Simon. "No creeping around and no sneaking in. Also to call you." He smiles at me. "So why are you still doing this?" I laugh letting him in. "I was wondering if you can do my nails again." He walks over to my black nail polish. "I guess I can. Come sit down after locking my door." I tell him and he does. "Thank you." He puts his hand out to me and I take off the old polish. "I don't have much of a choice now do I?" I laugh. "Even if you did, you still would. Wanna know why?" He smiles. "Why?" I ask, looking at his nails. "You love me." I can't help but smile so I look up at him. "Then maybe I should stop because I don't." I close the nail polish bottle.
"But you do. If you didn't, you wouldn't have let me in." I shake my head at him. "You are so annoying, Simon." I started to paint his nails. "Just don't mess them up." I reminded him. As I was working on his second hand he tucks a strand of my hair behind my ear. "Sorry, I messed this finger up." He shows me his index finger. "I hate you. I'll fix it after this hand." I huff. Once I was finished with painting his nails, he made me blow and fan them so they could dry. "My mom backhanded me across the face leaving the store. She told me to stop being friends with you and Kate. I told her she can't tell who I can't be friends with, which earned me the backhand." I say as I can his nails. "Bitch." I agree. "Then my sister said I should listen to her. We got in a fight about how she does what mom tells her to do most of the time unlike me. I choose to be the stereotype of someone from Shadyside. Gets in trouble, doesn't follow the rules, etc."
"You aren't the typical Shadysider. Yeah, you break some small tiny rules, but you only ever get in trouble at home, not at school. And etc... what? You don't do drugs, except last night, which was a one-time thing." He makes a point. "I know." I sigh. "Lizzy, I can't think of anyone else in Shadyside that is as good as you when it comes to being the best they can be. You don't do anything that could fuck up your future. I have faith in you getting out of here on your own." I wrap my arms around his neck giving him a hug. "That's really nice to hear." I squeeze him. "And I really mean it. Hopefully, you will remember me when you make it." He says as I stop hugging him. "How could I forget you." I kiss his cheek, "You're a one-of-a-kind, Simon Kalivoda." I mess up his hair.
///
Simon just smiles at Elizabeth, falling for her smile even more. "I know I am but thank you." He kisses her forehead. "Elizabeth." Her mother knocks on the door making Simon rush into the closet while she gets up, unlocking her door. "Yes ma'am?" She opens the door and her mother looks into the room. "Time for bed young lady." Elizabeth just nods her head. "Yes, ma'am" She shut the door walking over to her bed grabbing the clothes she sleeps in. "Time to go home Si." She tells him and he comes out. "Don't wanna leave yet." He whines laying in her bed. "How much longer?" She asks, walking into her bathroom to change. "I don't know." He shrugs his shoulders. "I guess you can stay a little longer." She walks back laying down next to him. He sits up moving to lay his head on her stomach so she could play with his hair and she does.
"How did we even become friends again?" Simon asks, closing his eyes. "You tripped me a month into the new school year when we were 12 because you said I was too cute to talk to you. You thought the only way I would talk to you is if I had to yell at you." Elizabeth laughs thinking back. "Well, you did end up yelling at me." He looks up at her. "Because you made me scrape my knees on the concrete." She tugs on his hair playfully as he starts to draw on her thigh with her pen. "And now you have a scar to remind you all the time of how we met and became best friends." He tells her. They both end up falling asleep for about twenty minutes before both waking up. "I should get going now." He gets off the bed. "Yeah, I hate sharing my bed." Liz laughs sitting up. "See you Monday. Goodnight." He opens the window. "Night night." She closes the window behind him as he walks off.
Elizabeth's body takes over, straddling Simon, leaning down to kiss him while his hands grab her hips. He rolls them over so he is on top kissing her then down her neck and collar bone. He moves his hand under her shirt, sliding his hand up and down her side. He pressed his lips against hers again, and trailed his hand down her thigh, rubbing it. Elizabeth jolts up out from her bed not believing what she just dreamed. It felt so real it scared her. She wanted to go back to sleep but she was nervous if her brain wanted to continue what she just dreamed. But then again part of her actually wanted to continue that dream. She falls back to lay down staring into the darkness of her room till she falls asleep again.
Monday comes quick and as Elizabeth was getting things ready to leave she spots Simon's watch at the foot of the bed on the floor. She picks it up, putting it in her bag before heading to school. "How was being grounded?" Kate asks, walking up to Liz at her locker. "Alright, my mom slapped me because I said I won't stop being friends with you and Simon." Liz lets her know. "Bitch." Kate leans against the other lockers. "Hey by chance-," Liz cuts Simon off, "You left this in my room? Yes." She pulls out his watch. "I was going to stop by Sunday but decided to give you a day off from me." He puts it on his wrist. "Thank you so much." She laughs. "Didn't she tell you to not sneak over?" Kate asks him. "Yeah, but do I ever listen? Plus I wanted my nails done." He shows them to her. Elizabeth can't help but be uncomfortable with the dream she had about Simon.
"Kate, can I talk to you in the girls' room?" She asks her. "Sure." She agrees, making Liz grab her hand, pulling her to the bathroom. "What up?" Kate leans against the wall. "I had a dream about Simon Saturday night," Liz whispers to her. "What kind of dream?" Kate gets excited on the inside. "We made out in my dream, but the thing is it felt super real." She hides her face. Kate's jaw drops, not believing it. If the dream felt super real to her then that means it probably happened after they took that second pill. "So you like Simon?" She asks her. "I guess... Maybe... I don't know... Yes, okay yes." Elizabeth whines. "What's the problem?" Kate asks. "I don't know if he likes me and I don't wanna mess up our relationship. Just don't tell him please, Kate." She begs her. "I promise. You're best friend will keep your secret safe." Kate smiles.

What is the thing that makes you take a survey? If they don’t have grammar or spelling that I have to correct all the time. Open-ended questions are a must, too.
Have you ever had an alcoholic beverage? Yes I had wine once. Hated it.
Do you ever feel like you just HAVE to sing out loud? I feel that way most when I’m alone in the car. Then I can be as loud as I wish. It’s a good way to destress after a long day and whil dealing with Metro Manila traffic.
Have you ever watched RuPaul's Drag Race? If yes, what makes it enjoyable? No, I’ve never seen it.
Do you own a TV? If so, what do you watch on it? We do, but I’ve since had the one in my room removed. I never watch anything on the TV these days, instead we use it for the PS4 and watching DVD’s.
Do you have Netflix/ViaPlay/other similar online channel? We finally have Netflix in the Philippines but I don’t understand why since the national internet connection is too slow to keep up anyway.
Have you ever watched Nostalgia Critic or Nostalgia Chick? I’ve never even heard of either.
What is the strangest type of food you have eaten? I dunno, no food is foreign to me. I guess the closest I can consider strange though was my experience eating sea urchin. Ohhhh and I ate spicy chocolate ice cream too, that was definitely something else.
What is the strangest type of candy you have eaten? I’m not into candy so I’ve only ever eaten the popular ones.
What would be your most ideal profession? If we’re really talking ideal, I’d be on my way to becoming an astronaut now.
What kind of rides do you enjoy the most at amusement parks? ...Food stalls.
Have you tried those colouring books for adults? No. I’ve wanted them for the past two years but was always too frugal to treat myself to one.
What is a topic you definitely don't want to talk about with anyone? I’m the most open book I know and there’s no topic I ever want to avoid, sensitive as it may get; but I guess, I don’t want to be too honest with anyone who is mutually suicidal, for my own sake and theirs.
Someone is about to take your picture. How do you react? I just smile and hope I look decent. I was never one to give poses.
Do you frequent any "funny pictures" site? If so, which one? Not anymore. I was in 9GAG a lot when it was popular but that was like six years ago.
Do you wash your dishes by hand or do you have a dishwasher? By hand. Dishwashers are foreign as heck to Asians.
Which scent of fabric softener do you like the best? No preference.
Do you ever get a chance to stay home alone? If not, why not? Yup, I’m normally home alone on Mondays since I don’t have school. I love being alone, so it’s relaxing to me.
Are you/have you ever been engaged? If not, would you like to be one day? No, and yes.
Are you/have you ever been married? If not, would you like to be one day? No, and yes.
What makes a person ugly? Being homophobic and/or racist.
What makes a person beautiful? Meh, I’m pretty cynical about people.
What is the craziest hairstyle and colour you've had? I’ve never been crazy with my hair so the only time I got daring with it was when I had it layered in fifth grade. It was a completely different look and everyone was sh00kt. Still pretty modest compared to what others have done to their hair though.
What was the last book you read? I read some snippets from Without Seeing the Dawn, which is one of the few required high school readings I actually enjoyed. It’s about life before and during the Japanese occupation of the Philippines. Super raw and sensitive stuff, but I guess that’s why I’m drawn to it.
Is there a book that you are currently reading? ^ I plan to continue that book.
Do you prefer an actual book or ebooks? Why? Actual books. I cannot for the life of me concentrate when trying an e-book.
What was your first gaming console? One of my first memories actually was playing with those zapper guns in the 90s, so I’m guessing we could have had either an NES or SNES.
Have you ever played with an actual pinball machine? Doubt it. I used to play with the one that came with Windows XP though; I was on that shit all the time when Internet wasn’t a thing yet.
^If so, what was the first pinball machine you played?
Do you have any siblings? If so, how close are you? Yeah. We’re close on a buddy sort of level, but it doesn’t get any deeper than that. We don’t have heart-to-heart conversations or hug or write anything for each other.
Is there something you're eagerly waiting for? What is it? I’m waiting for the weekend to start so I can finally have some semblance of a break.
Do you/have you ever belonged to an organization? If so, which one? Applying for one, currently. It’s a journalism club in my university.
What is something you're very passionate about? 2016 me would say journalism. I dunno at this point.
Is there something you'd like to change about yourself? Uh yeah. I wish my anxiety were gone. I wish I was less sensitive. I wish I didn’t have my triggers.
Have you ever had a sunburn? Where on your body was it? I got sunburns quickly as a kid, and it was all over – nose, arms, back. I never get them now.
Do you have or would you like to have a tattoo? If so, where? I wanted a bunch before, but quickly realized I will never get over my fear of needles and anything penetrating my skin.
What are you studying or what was the last thing you studied? Hmmmmm last thing I studied was my prof’s slides in geography, which he uploaded onto Google Drive.
Which fictional villain is your favourite? Welp I can’t think of any right now but Sharpay Evans was neat. I was always rooting for her.
What was the last present you gave someone? I gave my girlfriend’s sisters their favorite chocolate snacks if that counts.
Do you enjoy plays? If so, what was the latest one you saw? Sure, when I get to watch them. I won’t voluntarily get tickets to see them though. The last one I saw was a friend’s theater club production last March 2016.
Can you hear your neighbours through the walls? I’m chilling in Gabie’s place right now, but no the neighbors aren’t making any noise.
Have you ever had something custom made? Yes, my prom dress.
Have you ever had a serious injury? Yeah some really badly infected wounds here and there.
What was the last thing you achieved? Not have one goddamn break all week.
What is something you would like to achieve at some point in your life? I can die happy once I get my own home.
Would you enjoy being famous? No. Famous in my field, sure. But life as a celebrity sounds egh.
Which country would you least like to visit? America.
Do you collect anything? Just receipts and flowers from my girlfriend. I’ve kept the very very first flower she gave me back in 2014.
What's under your bed? There are several big containers, and they have the old wrestling magazines I collected before, my dad’s car magazines, and some of my brother’s kiddie magazines as well. Apparently we love hoarding magazines?
What is something you've been meaning to get done but haven't yet? LOTS OF STUFF AND I AM GIVING MYSELF THIS TINY BREAK FOR SURVEYS OKAY I PROMISE TO WORK SOON UGH. I’ve been working constantly for three weeks now and I haven’t had a proper weekend since and I am so beat.
Do you enjoy travelling? I love traveling, I’d drop everything to do it.
Where do you carry the things you need with you when leaving the house? In the bag that I use for school. If I’m out of school, I have this little pouch bag thing where I put my phone and wallet in.
Do you listen to entire discographies of bands or just a few songs? As much as possible I explore all their music, but if I happen to enjoy just a number of their songs that’s what I stick to.
What's the last thing you've made with your hands? A pot from clay.
On a daily basis, do you prefer to go by car or by bicycle? Why? Car. You really wanna try riding a bike through Metro Manila???
Do you know your ancestry? No but I’m sure it’s Malay like most Filipinos. Maybe a little Spanish on the side.
Which hair colour would you never want to have? Blonde.
Have you ever belonged to a club? If so, what was it? I mean we had what we called clubs back in my old school which is basically extracurricular stuff you do based on your interests, so we had Spanish club, math club, table tennis club, etc. I dunno if that counts, but those are the only ‘clubs’ I’ve ever been a part of.
What has been the most beautiful place you've visited? Sagada.
What is something that makes you sad? Bad grades.
Do you like hats? Sure, but that’s not exactly a necessity where I’m from.
What shape was the last funnily shaped cloud you saw? I don’t look at clouds all that often, and my imagination isn’t wild enough to think of shapes.
What is your most prized possession? My dog.
A famous chef is going to cook for you. Who is it and what do they cook? Gordon Ramsay plz fix up a burger for me.

The SNES Collection
Ah here it is! The SNES! It is probably my favorite console from Nintendo. Released in August of 1991, and triggering the notable console wars. It was superior, at least in my opinion, to everything it went up against at the time. This could be argued until everyone is dead and gone, but to me, The Old Nintendo Nerd, SNES takes it.
Tumblr media
This console is in much better shape. Extremely clean, near mint condition as compared to my NES. Zero yellowing, dings, dents, scratches, scuffs or marks really of any kind. It is as if it was just taken out of the box. The elusive box, unfortunately, that, like the NES box, is also long gone. In trying to obtain one of these I believe there was a great deal of resistance in getting a SNES anywhere near launch date. If I had to guess I would say it was somewhere in 1994 that I actually got a SNES of my own. Likely purchased by my parents as well. I obviously took better care of the console itself, but no such luck on the box.
Man, I wish I had kept that box.
So many incredible titles were released for this system. It has an absolutely stunning library behind it. I cannot wait to possibly get my hands on a few more of them. This collection is much smaller than the NES, with my N64 collection even smaller still. This was the result of moving to a more expensive platform as the NES was phased out, but still being a young teen with not much of my own money. The collection is small, though I still have some VERY good titles in here, take a look.
Tumblr media
All in great shape aside for the one permanent marker “P” on Uniracers, damn it. Why did kids write on these things, what purpose could it ever serve? Ugh!
Even more so than the NES collection, there are gaps, where is Gradius III or Super Metroid? Pilotwings? F-Zero? We don’t even have a copy of any of the Mega Man X series. Or Mario Kart! For shame! Hopefully we can fix that in my quest to fill out my collection a little bit.
I’m not looking to get any complete sets with this quest. Let me make that perfectly clear. No that is so frightfully above my head at this point it isn’t even funny. It takes a level of both time and financial dedication I just could not begin to muster to go for a complete set. But I do want a nice, well rounded core set of really great games. To do that I do need to obtain a few select titles, including the ones above and maybe a few more. With any luck we’ll be rocking a respectable collection in a year or so, maybe two. I am under no impression that this will be completed in a few months. This will take patience, and persistence. Yard Sales, Garage Sales, Flea Markets, and maybe even LetGo and OfferUp.
LetGo and OfferUp have the tendency to have eBay syndrome though. To me it is still an attempt to get rid of something, like a Yard Sale, where the prices are “get it out of my house” low. But people still go on eBay, check prices and wind up pricing a dirty, yellowing Super Nintendo that they found in a box in the garage, have no idea if it works, with one filthy copy of Madden 95, no cords and one controller at $60. The $60 one they saw on eBay was pristine, tested and guaranteed working as well as bundled with all cords, two controllers and a clean copy of A Link to the Past.
You get my point, I ranted about this type of thing in the last post enough, I said there would be less ranting so I’ll let it be. For now. I’m sure it will come up again and again.
My favorite SNES game is probably Super Metroid. The game is an absolute masterpiece. From the controls, to the graphics, environment, ambiance and enemies, it is hands down one of the best games I have ever played. Period. I don’t think I could ever come up with a negative, it is a 10 out of 10 game.
And it is missing from my collection.
Womp Womp.
This one will be, as a friend put it, my white whale so to speak. It isn’t rare by any means, it is readily available on eBay and even in retail stores local to me, but for an astounding $50 to $60. If that does not speak to the quality of game that it is, I don’t know what does. I will have Super Metroid though. Mark. My. Words.
Of the games I own, while Mario World is up there, I think the one I played the most of is TMNT IV: Turtles in Time.
Tumblr media
Played the hell out of this growing up, it was like the arcade game was on my TV. I loved it. Graphics, sound, music, controls, all top notch. Pitching foot soldiers into the screen to actually beat the boss? Genius. Solid 9 out of 10 game, a must have for collections of any size.
A very close second is Battletoads in Battlemaniacs.
Tumblr media
Fantastic game, the graphics and animations are stellar, and it is hard. Boy is it hard. But it’s a Battletoads game, it has to be. I love the music too, you find yourself bobbing your head as you are playing. They even kept the pause beatbox.
This next one would be higher on the list had I played it more, but I honestly, and I am ashamed to say this, have never beaten, or even played very far into this game.
*dodges all of the rotten tomatoes and other vegetables that are thrown at me*
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
Tumblr media
I have it back out, and have started a new play through, so I will do it, I want to, the game is awesome. I just got this very late in my career of the SNES, I would say something like 1997, maybe even as late as 1998, and didn’t ever play it all the way through. I probably started a dozen games that always got overshadowed by another new shiny game on a newer console. Namely the Nintendo 64, which had been out for at least a year by the time I got my hands on a copy of this game. It will get finished. Oh yes. Soon.
A friend and I would rent a SNES on a weekend with a Monday holiday. Like Labor Day or Memorial Day. Not only would we be off from school, but we would also not have to return the console until Tuesday. Normally if you rented a console for the weekend you had to return it Monday. We would play all weekend long. Probably switching between 2 or 3 different games that we also rented. I remember one weekend in particular we rented The Lost Vikings, and Out of This World. The Lost Vikings is a fantastic puzzle platformer. With each viking possessing a different ability to help the three progress as a group through each stage. Music is fantastic, graphics are engaging and the control is right where it needs to be. We played this for hours.
Tumblr media
The fact that we rented this game further reinforces my guess of me getting a SNES in 1994, since Lost Vikings was released in 1993. Out of this World I believe was some time in 1992. Though I am not 100% sure, I know it came out on Amiga in 1991, but as for an official SNES release date, I’m coming up empty. I’m merely guessing it may have taken a little time to port it to the console. SNES released second half of 1991. Puting the possible release of Out of this World first half of 1992. It could very well have been the same year though. I recently picked up the re-release on steam with better graphics. It was a trip to play I’ll tell you. I don’t have a copy in my collection so I have not played it for a very long time.
Ten out of ten console, I could go on for the foreseeable future on this one. But I’ll resist and snip it off here.
No pickups or video game buys thus far, total stays $83.09.
Next Post, the Nintendo 64 collection!

Lumpy’s Sneeze Torture
Lumpy awakened in an unfamiliar room. He tried to get up, but couldn't move an arm or leg.
"Oh, darn it! Not this again!" he immediately thought. "I wish I knew why I keep getting into these situations..."
He sighed to himself, tilting his head downwards and seeing just why he couldn't get up. It was because he was tied to a chair, with his arms being tied to his body and his feet being tied together. After a few minutes had gone by, he heard a couple of voices.
"They better be awake by now!"
"Be patient, sire. Maybe they're still passed out."
Lumpy raised an eyebrow as he looked around the room, trying to find where the voices were coming from.
"I haven't seen Kirby for a whole week now. Whoever we captured, I ain't never seen'em before, but they oughta gimme an answer!"
"Kirby? Who's Kirby?" Lumpy asked himself.
The voices started to get closer, causing Lumpy to feel more and more nervous. A few seconds later, two beings came into the room; one of them being a large penguin in a king's robe, and the other being an anthropomorphic snail. Neither of whom Lumpy could recognize.
"I understand you're evil and all, but you can't go around capturing everybody you find. It's just wrong!" the snail said.
"I don't give a dang about whether it's right or wrong," the penguin said, grabbing the snail. "All my cash says he knows everything about him, and I'm gonna make him prove it!"
"What makes you think he knows? For crying out loud, I don't think you've even seen him before!" the snail responded. "There's no way you could be right, King Dedede!"
"Then why don't ya beat it, ya stupid slug?!" King Dedede threw the snail behind his back, throwing him out of the room. "Sheesh."
With the snail out of his way, King Dedede finally entered the room and looked at Lumpy, who looked nervously at him in return.
"Um... hi," Lumpy greeted him, trying to be innocent. "My name's Lumpy."
"Hey there, bub! I'm King Dedede, glad you're awake!" Dedede responded. "I need ya to do me a favor right about now."
"What are you talking about?" Lumpy asked. "Oh, and one more thing. Why am I tied up?"
"Heh heh heh!" Dedede replied with his signature laugh. "Ain't it obvious, ya dumbskull? It's so you can do me a favor!"
"Well, what do you want from me?" Lumpy asked, fearing the worst.
"I need ya to tell me where Kirby is!"
Lumpy almost blushed in response. He didn't know anything about Kirby; in fact, he didn't even know anybody named Kirby. So Lumpy just admitted the truth, hoping King Dedede wouldn't hurt him.
"I, I don't know."
"Oh, really?" Dedede responded. "Well, I have ways of making you talk."
Lumpy's eyes widened when he heard his response. He was pretty sure what was going to happen; he was going to be tickle-tortured again. He had been so used to the idea, however, that he just braced himself for what was going to happen. Instead of torturing him immediately, however, King Dedede tried to think of a way to torture him.
"What am I gonna do to you..." Dedede said quietly, but audibly enough for Lumpy to hear.
"I really don't know who Kirby is, or where he is," Lumpy admitted, again.
Instead of speaking, King Dedede looked him in the eye and then poked the end of his nose with his forefinger. Lumpy winced, and then his snout twitched as his nostrils began to flare up. His nose was beginning to itch.
"Huh?" Dedede looked surprised for a moment. "What the...?"
Lumpy sniffled and twitched his nose. He really wanted to rub his itchy nose, but since he was tied up, he couldn't. He had to just let it itch.
"Ugh, you made my nose tickle," Lumpy said.
"I did?" Dedede asked. "You gotta be kidding me!"
"Ah... Aaaah..." Lumpy tilted his neck slightly back as his nostrils flared up. He was going to sneeze, but he didn't want to. He thought that if he did, he would embarrass himself in front of King Dedede. The sneeze was coming, however, so Lumpy decided that the best thing to do was to stifle it, and make it sound smaller than his normal sneeze. He took a final inhale as he pressed his tongue to the roof of his mouth. "AaaaaAAAAH--"
"--choo!" Lumpy managed to stifle the sneeze, but it was quite painful. It would have been a bigger relief if it was one of his usual loud sneezes. Lumpy groaned and sniffled, wishing he could rub his nose on his forefinger.
"Heh heh heh heh heh!" King Dedede laughed from just hearing his sneeze. "Man, that was pathetic!"
"I'm sorry." Lumpy sniffled again. "My nose is really sensitive. Pretty much anything can make me sneeze."
"Anything?" Dedede asked. "Is that so?" An evil smile slowly grew on the King's face.
"Yeah. I just can't help it." Lumpy responded.
"That gives me an idea!"
Dedede reached behind his back and pulled out a bag. Just seeing him do that reminded Lumpy of one of the times he was tickle-tortured. The one torturing him - Sara - had brought a bag like this with her. But this was a different situation completely.
"Um, what's in the bag?" Lumpy asked, curiously.
"Just some stuff that I'm gonna use on ya." From the bag, Dedede pulled out a pepper shaker, a feather, a flower and a packet containing a gray substance - all of which made Lumpy cringe in fear. He almost immediately realized what was going to happen.
King Dedede was going to make him sneeze.
"Alright, let's start nice and easy." Dedede picked up the feather. "Is your nose ticklish?"
Lumpy didn't respond at first, but then looked away, blushed and responded. "Yes."
"That's what I thought. But let's see just how much..."
Dedede raised the feather to the end of Lumpy's nose, and began to wiggle it back and forth.
"Hee hee hee!" Rather than needing to sneeze, Lumpy giggled a few times and squirmed around a little. "Hee hee hee, stop that! Hee hee hee!"
"Nah, that ain't gonna do it for me," Dedede said, referring to Lumpy's giggles. They sounded cute and all, but he didn't intend to make him laugh. "I don't want you laughin', I want you sneezin'!"
Dedede moved the feather to Lumpy's nostrils and began to tickle them. Lumpy stopped giggling as his nose twitched, and his nostrils flared up again. They just couldn't handle that soft feather stroking them.
"Oh, no, not again..." Lumpy said as he knew he was going to sneeze again. His breath hitched. "Aaaah... Aaaaaaahhhh..."
"I, I th-think I'm... Aaaaaaaaaahhhhh... g-gonna... Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh..." Lumpy wanted to finish his sentence, but he didn't have the strength to do so.
"I know. And I'm gonna make ya." Dedede continued to tickle Lumpy's nostrils, watching them flare up and listening to his desperate inhales.
"AaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAH..." Lumpy tilted his neck back as he continued to inhale, getting close to releasing the sneeze. "AaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAHHHHHH..." He didn't want to hurt himself from stifling the sneeze, so he had to let it all out.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!"
Lumpy let out a loud sneeze as he shot his neck forwards, blowing the feather out of his face. He then recovered, tilting his neck back to its normal position and looking sadly at King Dedede.
"That's more like it!" Dedede said, responding to his sneeze. "Ya feel like telling me where Kirby is yet?"
"No, I'm not gonna tell you," Lumpy said. "I don't know anybody named Kirby."
In response, Dedede raised the feather back to Lumpy's nose, ready to tickle his nose again. But this time, he stuck it right into his nostril and began to wiggle it around, tickling the insides of Lumpy's nose.
Lumpy cringed in complete shock, and his eyes watered. His nose began to quiver, and his nostrils began to flare up, but the nostril that the feather was inside of flared the most. His breath hitched again as he began to inhale.
"Aaaaaaaaah... Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh..." Lumpy tilted his neck slightly back as he prepared to release another sneeze. This was going to be a much bigger one than the one before it, but it took a little less time for it to build up. With a final dramatic gasp, Lumpy tilted his neck as far back as possible and then exploded with a much louder sneeze.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"
Lumpy shot his neck forwards with the sneeze again, but this time, his nose began to turn a faded pink. He hated when this happened; it actually made him think he was coming down with something.
"Ugh!" Lumpy sniffled several times, looking frustrated that he couldn't rub his ticklish nose.
"Good golly almighty, that is some sneeze you got there!" King Dedede said, and then laughed tauntingly at him again. "Heh heh heh heh! You poor sap, couldn't hold it in!"
"Please, stop making me sneeze," Lumpy begged with a sniffle. "I don't like this..."
"I'll tell ya what. If ya tell me where Kirby is, I'll let ya go," Dedede said.
"But I don't know," Lumpy admitted. "I've never met anybody named Kirby in my life."
As expected, King Dedede wasn't convinced. Putting down the feather, Dedede picked up the flower and held it in front of Lumpy's nose. Lumpy was looking nervous at his action; he was really allergic to flowers.
"Gimme a good sniff," Dedede commanded.
Instead of obeying him, however, Lumpy held his breath, trying not to inhale. Flowers and the pollen they contained were his worst allergies, so if he sniffed even once, he'd start sneezing again. He couldn't go too long without breathing, however, so after a few seconds had gone by, he gave in and sniffed. But with the flower right in front of his face, he was forced to smell the flower's sweet scent as well as its pollen.
"Aaaaaaah, aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh..." Lumpy inhaled as the pollen from the flower irritated his nostrils. The fragrance from the flower, however, seemed to tickle his nose more severely.
Dedede lost his patience and began to wiggle the flower right under Lumpy's nose. The urge to sneeze in Lumpy's poor nose grew stronger as the pollen scattered onto his nose and the petals tickled his nostrils. He personally would rather deal with the tickly petals than the allergy-causing pollen that made him need to sneeze so badly.
"AaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH--" Lumpy took a giant inhale, expecting a huge sneeze, but instead broke into an allergic sneezing fit of loud sneezes. "AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH-CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH-CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhh... AaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH-CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! AaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH-CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"
"Aw, what's the matter? You allergic to this here flower?" King Dedede asked, taunting him.
By the time he was done sneezing, Lumpy's nose had turned a deeper shade of red. Lumpy sniffled several times, still disappointed that he couldn't rub his nose, even though he really wanted to. It didn't help that he wasn't feeling much better after sneezing so many times.
"Yes, I'm allergic," he said, continuing to sniffle. "Ugh, can you let me go now?"
"We ain't finished yet!" King Dedede said.
Putting down the flower, the King picked up the packet that contained the gray substance. Lumpy raised an eyebrow, not knowing what the substance was.
"What's in that little bag?" he asked.
"Oh, nothing too special," Dedede said. "Just some dust!"
Lumpy gasped in fear. Dust was another one of his allergies, although it wasn't as bad as his pollen allergy. "Dust?!"
"Yeah, dust. What, are you allergic to this, too?" Dedede asked.
Lumpy looked away and blushed. "Yes..."
Ignoring him, Dedede opened the packet, poured some of the dust into his hand, and blew the dust into Lumpy's face. Lumpy's nose immediately reacted as it twitched and his nostrils flared up.
"Aaaaaaah, aaaaaaaaahhhhhh... Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh..." Lumpy tilted his neck back as he inhaled, surrendering to the sneeze that he was about to release. "AaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH..."
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!" Lumpy shot his neck forwards as he released the sneeze. He tried not to spray King Dedede, but a little bit of saliva landed on his robe, although he didn't seem to notice. Then Lumpy released another sneeze, his allergic nose not being satisfied yet. "AaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH-CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!"
Lumpy shot his neck forwards again with the next sneeze, and then recovered, groaning and sniffling a few times. His poor nose had turned a bright red and was starting to drip with clear mucus. Lumpy just couldn't get over the fact that he wouldn't wipe his nose, since he was still tied to the chair.
"Ugh, I need a tissue," Lumpy said, sniffling constantly.
"Don't worry, bub, we'll be done soon," King Dedede reassured him, putting down the packet of dust and picking up the pepper shaker. "After you sneeze from this!"
Lumpy's eyes widened in shock and he gasped again. Pepper made him sneeze the hardest of all, even worse than both pollen and dust combined.
"No! Not that, anything but that!" he begged.
"Come on, Lumpy, you're a big guy! Toughen up a little, would ya?" Dedede responded.
Lumpy decided that the best thing to do was to call him out on his actions.
"King Dedede, you are the biggest jerk I have ever met!"
In response to his insult, King Dedede proceeded to shake pepper right into Lumpy's nostrils. Lumpy's eyes widened, his pupils shrunk until they could barely be seen, his snout froze for a second and his nostrils cringed. Just feeling the pepper enter his nose set it on fire. His nose and nostrils both twitched desperately as he inhaled to sneeze.
"Aaaaaaaaaah... Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh... Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..." Lumpy took some of the loudest pre-sneeze inhales Dedede had ever heard. "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... AaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH..."
Dedede wanted to keep shaking pepper into Lumpy's nose, but decided to stop since he knew that he was going to sneeze. He looked on in amusement as Lumpy inhaled, getting ready to release a sneeze unlike any other.
"AaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...!!!"
Dedede backed up a few steps, rubbing his hands together in delight as Lumpy tilted his neck back as far as he could. His nose was twitching and his nostrils were flaring constantly. And then, he released the biggest, loudest and most long-lasting sneeze he had ever sneezed.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"
The entire castle shook for several seconds as Lumpy released the absolutely tremendous sneeze. It managed to fire every last grain of pepper from his nose, but it was so loud that everybody in the castle and the nearest village - if one existed nearby, which was actually true - could hear it. King Dedede even had to plug his ears to keep from hearing the sneeze, but it was no use. It was the biggest sneeze Lumpy had ever released in his life.
And while he was releasing the sneeze, he managed to free his arm from the ropes that he was tied with, but he didn't bother to use it. After almost half a minute had gone by, Lumpy recovered from the sneeze, but his entire nose was a bright red, and mucus was oozing out of his nostrils. He sniffled constantly and rubbed his nose with his forefinger for several minutes on end. King Dedede was completely shocked, but at the same time, quite impressed. He was about to say something, but he suddenly heard the door being thrown open.
Standing right at the doorway was a pink being with red shoes and blue eyes. The being took one look at Lumpy, who was still slightly tied to the chair, and his eyes immediately went wide with shock. He then looked over at King Dedede, his shocked expression turning into rage.
"Aw, shoot! It's Kirby!" Dedede said.
"That's Kirby?" Lumpy sniffled, continuing to rub his poor nose with his forefinger.
"All this time, you were still in Cappy Town?!" Dedede asked in anger. "Why didn't nobody tell me this before?!"
Kirby's mouth opened impossibly wide as he began to inhale and sucked up all of the air around him. He sucked King Dedede towards him, but to defend himself, he started shaking the pepper shaker in Kirby's direction. Not realizing what the black substance was, Kirby continued to inhale and allowed the pepper to make it into his mouth.
Lumpy tried his best not to sneeze from the pepper, since his nose was still recovering from that absolutely gigantic sneeze that he had released earlier. Surprisingly enough, he was successful enough that he didn't even start inhaling. After about five seconds had gone by, the shaker Dedede was using finally ran out of pepper, and he looked at it in confusion.
Kirby finished inhaling all of the pepper in the air and swallowed it all. At first, he didn't seem to mind the spicy taste of the pepper, but suddenly, his eyes widened again and his pupils shrunk until they could barely be seen. His face turned red and he started sweating as the unbearably hot flavor of the pepper assaulted not just his tongue, but his entire mouth.
"Huh?" King Dedede looked confused at Kirby's expression, but then he realized what was going to happen. Kirby was either going to sneeze, breathe fire or both. "Uh-oh."
"You feeling okay, little guy?" Lumpy asked.
Kirby tried to resist the pepper's effects, but he just couldn't help himself. The heat of the pepper, as well as the mere smell, was just too much for him to take. Shutting his eyes tightly, he tilted his head as far back as he could.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH--!!!" A monstrous pre-sneeze gasp escaped from Kirby's mouth, and then he unleashed an absolutely huge sneeze without warning. "CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"
Kirby's sneeze caused a huge amount of red-hot, fiery flames to come pouring out of his mouth, right at King Dedede. Once all of the flames had made it out of Kirby, Dedede had been burned to a blackened crisp. The King fell backwards, twitching involuntarily with his speech reduced to gibberish. Kirby recovered from his sneeze and gained an almost sad-looking expression. Lumpy, still rubbing his nose, looked at him with a shocked expression on his face. That sneeze hadn't been as large as Lumpy's, but it was still pretty big for such a little guy.
"Oh, my gosh. Bless you," Lumpy said as Kirby put his hand to the area where his nose would be and rubbed it cutely.
Once Kirby had finished rubbing his nose, he removed his hand and shook his head quickly. He then ran over to Lumpy, who was still rubbing his nose. Kirby proceeded to untie the ropes from Lumpy's body.
"So... you're Kirby?" Lumpy asked. Kirby nodded in agreement as he continued untying Lumpy. Once he was finished, Lumpy stood up.
"You... You saved me..." Lumpy smiled happily, picked up Kirby and gave him a hug. "Thank you!"
Kirby returned the favor, and Lumpy put him back down on the floor. They started to walk out of the castle, while Lumpy continued to rub his nose. He was going to keep doing this for quite a while, thanks to Dedede making him sneeze so much earlier.
"Is there anything I can do to make it up to you?" Lumpy asked, but Kirby didn't respond, since he couldn't speak a lot of coherent English. "Kirby?"
"Hmm?" Kirby asked as he turned towards Lumpy.
"Can you not speak English?" Lumpy asked, trying not to sound too rude. Kirby shook his head in denial, but Lumpy didn't mind. "Oh, it's okay. I was just wondering."
Once they had made it outside, Lumpy's nose started twitching again due to the amount of pollen in the air. He began to sneeze.
"Aaaaaaaah, aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh..." Lumpy inhaled twice, tilting his neck backwards. Kirby grew scared, jumped up on Lumpy's shoulder and pressed his fingerless hand on his nostrils, which stopped the sneeze. Lumpy sighed in relief. "Thanks."
"Poyo." Kirby smiled, removing his hand and jumping off Lumpy's shoulder. However, just as Lumpy felt him jump off his shoulder, he exploded.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"
Lumpy released a loud sneeze, which was strong enough to blow Kirby backwards until he landed on the ground. He sat up, shaking his head in pain. Lumpy sniffled and rubbed his nose on his forefinger, and then looked down at Kirby.
"Sorry about that," Lumpy said, still rubbing his nose. "I'm allergic to pollen, but that wasn't so bad compared to the sneezes that jerk King Dedede made me let out. They were really loud, especially the one with pepper."
"Poyo," Kirby said, as if blessing Lumpy.
"I sure hope he doesn't make me sneeze like that again," Lumpy said, still rubbing his nose with another sniffle. "I never would have thought he could be so mean..."
"Poyo!" Kirby responded in agreement, as if to say, "I know, right?"

Alright, a quick rating of the Zelda titles:
The Legend of Zelda (NES) I actually only played this game when I was 15, because we didn’t had it on our original NES, then sold it and only got the game when we bought a used NES.  For such an old game, it holds up pretty well. It is fun to play, but it has some hiccups, like totally random bombable walls in the overworld. I was lucky to have found an old map from some 1989 Nintendo magazine.  I rate this game as a solid 7/10.  Adventure of Link (NES) Ah, the black sheep. For some reason, they thought they needed to make this game into a sidescroller which were pretty popular at the time, but imo took away from the Zelda experience.  It also is hard, super hard, one of the games that named the trope “nintendo hard”. I actually never made it past the second boss.  So I never played through the game, but watched others play. I think they shouldn’t have changed the formula so much after only one game, but it isn’t a bad game per se, just one that doesn’t fit.  I give it a 5/10.  A Link to the Past (SNES) Now that game took everything the original had and made it BETTER. The overworld is huge, the music is stellar, the game even tells a story, a bit hidden, but it is there, it established quite a few staples in the series like the heart pieces and some leitmotifs like Zelda’s lullaby and Hyrule Castle theme.  And then the game takes its huge world and makes it in a dark mirror, now that was amazing!  The only criticism I have? The Dark World dungeons are too similar, but other than that: 10/10
Link’s Awakening (GB/GBC) Ok, this game was my first Zelda, so it gets the nostalgia bonus.  I ADORE this game. Now that I am older, it is obvious, that the game started as fangame, but whatever. It works super well with the tiny console it came out on (the Game Boy), is super fun, has well thought out dungeons which revolve around a theme and also adds two new more staples in Zelda games:  The quirky characters and the creepy undertones.  LA has a really big twist in the second half and it is kind of depressing when you know it, but I love that scene and the music that plays in it. That game was surprisingly mature for it’s cute limited style.  It also gave us the ballad of the windfish, though... In my heart it gets a 11/10, but objectively it gets an 8/10. Ocarina of Time (N64) Ehhhh... Nah, it isn’t the best Zelda ever.  I liked the game, but even at age 11 it felt just like A Link to the Past in 3D, even less, because OoT is very linear. LA was linear too, but it had the game boy excuse.  What I like about OoT is the focus on more story, the races of Hyrule are more in the focus and the music is gorgeous, as well as the jump in 3D was well done, but I wished they hadn’t given Link the autojump. Ugh.  It’s a solid title, 7/10.  Majora’s Mask (N64) Now hold my beer, that game looks so stressful, but it is GOOD. Seriously, this game is amazing. It takes a timed countdown and makes it WORK!  It isn’t just a reskin of OoT, because of a lot of clever new mechanics, the transformation masks. The story is a bit weird and also dark. Jeez, this game is the darkest Zelda game ever, but wow, it’s also deep as hell.  Music? FANTASTIC! Actually my fav score from all the games.  Majora’s Mask earns a 10/10.  Wind Waker (Game Cube) Adorable, cute, has some really cool twists, music is fantastic, art style is timeless and the sailing wasn’t boring!  Like Majora’s Mask, that game lives a lot of sidequests, but I really liked it and I liked the slow reveal of just what the world of WW is.  I loved it on the Game Cube and even though I only played through it in like 2014 (because I deleted my save game and started over, wtf?), I think this is one amazing title. It get’s a 10/10. Because I loved the sailing.  Twilight Princess (GC/Wii)  Well, that game just screams OoT at me at every single moment.  I still love it. I played it after I had a a bit of a fallout with single player games and went raiding in WoW for a year straight. Going back to just being single player was amazing. Ok, the wii mote was a bit meh, but the game was good. I liked Wolf Link and Midna and the Twilight Realm and all the references. I felt at home and liked to see a more mature approach at the story, even though this game isn’t as dark as MM, it still counts to the darker ones.  But I don’t like every little thing about it... I give it a 8/10 though.  Oracle of Ages/Oracle of Seasons (GBC) Yeah, they are weird. Yes, I love them nonetheless. Music is a disappointment though, but love the idea, characters and dungeons as well as some of the new items. 7/10 for both.  Phantom Hourglass (DS) Oh, come on, the game isn’t that bad, but I admit, the phantom hourglass temple was uuuugh.  6/10 and one point is for Linebeck alone. Spirit Tracks (DS) Now that is what Phantom Hourglass should have been! A clever story, a nice inclusion of Zelda, the touch screen controls work well, the train is HELLA fun, tons of sidestuff to do, stellar OST, really fun villain.  This games works and it works well. 9/10, just because the pan flute was awful and I got dizzy by all that blowing.  Skyward Sword (Wii) Master, your batteries are low.  Shut up, Phai!  I want to like this game, I really want, but, but...  I had to recalibrate my Wiimote every 20 minutes! The motion controls made the game unneccesarry clunky and Phai is the most annoying sidekick of all time.  The story was cool though, I loved learning how the master sword came to be and it had some really clever dungeon ideas, like the time based ones. Also, Ghirahim as well as Ballad of the Goddess. I give it a 5/10 though, because of the damn motion controls!  A Link between Worlds (3DS) It is AlttP with a twist. A good twist. It used the 3D effect of the 3DS and played with 2D and 3D perspective for puzzles. It took the story of ALttP and made it good.  It made the OST better.  the dungeons were short enough to be played in a short session, good for a handheld fixed the same looking dungeons. 11/10, really, that game ist fantastic  BotW (Switch/Wii U)  I had some troubles with the game at first, but then? I started to adore it. The world is HUGE, like, never ever have we seen such a huge world, oof. And there is actually stuff to do. Shrines to find, Koroks to find, monster camps, animals to hunt, unfixed events! The game is super non linear and it’s amazing!  It is a whole new look on Hyrule and on the formula and it works. It has a few annoying things (climbing in rain, weapons breaking, some foes overpowered), but it is super fun and I want the second installment now. 9/10
