I can’t believe I cried over a character named Albert Harebrayne but listen…

His whole story is just one long, drawn out heartbreak.

The Professor has his hypothesis that he wants to believe in it no matter what. In his mind it’s possible. And he put so much time, effort and heart into it. And the Great Exhibition was his chance to show it to the public and prove that all his effort was worth something. But to realize his dreams, Professor Harebrayne needed money. So he got an investor.

But then the demonstration went wrong, and it ended in the death of that investor.

So then Albert Harebrayne ends up in court. His old friend Barok van Zieks is on the prosecution side. And he asks his defense lawyer Ryunosuke to prove what he believes: that the science he did was real, but it resulted in an accident.

And as the trial goes on, he holds on tight to his scientific theory, even if it means implicating himself, or outright confessing to murder.

It’s only by admitting he didn’t build the device (needing an engineer to do so) that the Professor has to face the truth - his demonstration was nothing but an elaborate trick conjured up by his “partners” to get government grant money for a new discovery.

Albert had to admit that he was deceived to even have a chance of avoiding a murder charge. A chance he only got because Barok van Zieks gave him one more chance to tell the court what really happened.

The Professor’s whole world just got turned upside down and the case isn’t even over yet!

Ace Attorney cases do have a good track record for ending on a happy note, so maybe all isn’t lost for the Professor. Susato arriving to save the day makes me even more hopeful that all will be well in the end.

But the emotional rollercoaster is real and I felt all of it!

I'm very confused as to why the fandom portrays Phoenix Wright as this "sunshine boy" in fanworks when the Phoenix Wright I know from the games is kind of a douche lmao

#he's a loveable ass but he's still an ass #his inner monologue is so cruel at times even to the people he loves that I'm honestly baffled on where “he's a sunshine boy” comes from #the man has joked his accused friends of being the actual murderer more than once; his sense of humor is unhinged 😭#im at the end of the 2nd game but from what i could see; Phoenix is more of a jerk with a heart of gold more than anything else #i love him dearly since he would do anything for his friends but he's honestly kind of a dick; all things considering #he's really not your typical protagonist who is naive and a ball of sunshine #he's more of someone who would do something out of spite and feral energy just to prove a point #idk maybe my opinions will change as i continue watching the games' playthrough #ace attorney #other #personal

so! i went down a rabbit hole of fake ds games, and found out that my copy of apollo justice is a fake! so. here ill compare it to my legit copy of pw:aa, and maybe this'll help someone out there?

first off: the labels. notice how AJ looks kind of. linty? the label itself feels smooth but it looks... dirty.

the bottom left corner of the label is also way too round compared to PW, and any other ds game for that matter.

the printing of the label also makes the gradient hard to tell apart from the white border at the bottom.

finally, the ESRB rating. if you look closely, the T on AJ is a bit too tall, and a bit too skinny.

now onto the backs, this is where the most obvious difference is.

here they are next to each other, and two individual pictures for you to zoom in on some more. PW is on the left, AJ on the right.

if you look closely, the fonts used are completely different!! on PW, the dot over the i in nintendo is a square, and the o has thinner lines on the inside. this is how the logo is supposed to look. on AJ, the font is a little different, and the dot over the i is a circle as well as the o being evenly round.

also, below the logo, where it says NAT-005 PAT PEND. , the font on AJ is a little different again. just like the T on the ESRB rating, the font is a little too tall, and a little too skinny.

heres a comparison between my fake cart and a real one (picture of the real one is from Zenzero_69_69 on reddit)

my copy of apollo justice did come from ebay, and was a gift from my mom, so unfortunately she probably didnt realize it was a fake but alas. luckily for a game like ace attorney, the game doesnt corrupt or anything, so while the cart may be fake, the game itself is perfectly fine. ive never noticed anything wrong in the 2~ish years ive had it. though if a game being legit matters to you i hope this was helpful in determining a real vs fake copy. be careful of fakes out there!!
