I’ve been down a the worst witch rabbit hole recently and I’m wondering if there are any fics where Agatha is in love with Hecate and it’s part of her reasoning for wanting to take over the school or anything similar. Almost like a fight between the cackle sisters… or any Hecate Hardbroom centered fic recommendations anyone has! Especially hackle! But I’m open to other pairings!

YES I should be saving money YES I just bought a Cackle's Academy enamel pin YES I'm contemplating getting another one because I bought it in red when I really wanted a purple one because the purple house is objectively the best house NO I will not buy another pin specifically so I can have a purple one even though I have it in my basket YES that's still a really difficult choice for me and a huge excerise in restraint

The Worst Witch books are A Trip bc we get some revelations like Ms Hardbroom sneaking in the middle of the night to "play chess" with Miss Pentagle and the revelation that Ethel likes to pull on Mildred's pigtails (or plaits I guess?).
Also? I kind of love the way Mildred describes Ethel as someone charming enough that every time she seems nice Mildred falls for it lol. I mean. If we look at it with a critical eye you could go on and on about abusive relationships and the power and yadda yadda. And listen, I know that the "pulling on a girl's pigtails" is actually Very Bad, but I do genuinely think that Ethel has a crush on Mildred.
So far, I'm on book 6/8 and there has been no mention of Mildred coming from a non-magical family (there are actually a couple of clues that she comes from a magical family), and book 6 has the first ever mention of Mildred being good at art. But since it was published in 2007, it might've been inspired from the first TV series adaptation. Probably that bit about Ms Hardbroom and Ms Pentagle being friends comes from the TV series too.

I try to always comment. Comments are a gift and I want to recognize the time someone took tell me they liked my work. Plus, I love talking about writing and stories and all that.
What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Life has enough angst already, I don’t need to add to it with my fics. I much prefer a happy ending. That said, since I’ve left everyone hanging on Stella Caeli for 6 months (I’m so sorry!) and it’s at a disaster cliffhanger, it would be that. I am almost done with the next installment, though, so hopefully soon it won’t be angsty either.
What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Maybe Divine? That’s the last part of Hecate’s Summer Playlist. Either that or An Uncertain Spring
Do you get hate on fic?
I haven’t yet.
Do you write smut?
It probably comes as a surprise to most of my readers, but yes. Just not in any of the stuff I’ve written for TWW or posted on AO3
Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Not really, though I do enjoy letting Rosemary and Thyme make a cameo every now and then. I’m not against them, just haven’t done it.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don’t think so.

Not that I’m aware.
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No, but Sparky probably deserves a co-writing credit for all of the work she’s put in to my fics.
What’s your all-time favourite ship?
This is a toughie. Certainly, Hecate Hardbroom and Pippa Pentangle – or Hecate and Ada Cackle – or Hecate and Julie Hubble. Honorable mentions include Jean McBride and Millie Harcourt, Xena and Gabrielle, Jenny Flint and Madame Vastra, Rosemary and Thyme, Lady Hardcastle and Flo, SuperCorp, Laventon and Cyllene… The list really could go on.
What’s a WIP you want to finish but probably won’t?
Probably my first fic – a massive crossover with characters from everywhere, a healthy dose of Mary Sue-manship, a bizarre premise that turned out to be not so bizarre when six months or a year after I started it, Galaxy Quest sort of had the main plot point.
What are your writing strengths?
I feel like dialogue is what I do best, followed by plotting.
What are your writing weaknesses?
Action sequences. They feel very stilted to me.
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
Sure, write it. I've had bilingual characters.
First fandom you wrote for?
Not counting that first atrocity, Xena and Gabrielle – though technically it’s a Mel & Janice one.
Favourite fic you’ve written?
That is like picking a favorite child, isn’t it? Well, I shan’t be in denial about it. Hecate’s Summer Playlist holds a special place in my heart, closely followed by An Uncertain Spring and All Roads Lead to Home.

P: She found it hard to forgive Hecate, even though she would never have admitted to even holding a grudge during thirty years.

The Worst Witch December Events
Well met, everyone!
It’s that time again where the festive holiday-themed fics are plentiful, and we all come together to collectively ignore canon in favour of being kinder to our favourites. Many of you are probably wondering if anyone’s organising any fun little Worst Witch fandom events, and the answer is yes! Over on the TWW Discord we've come up with two challenges that can be attempted by themselves, or combined - a gift exchange you can sign up for on AO3 via this link, and a December holiday-flavoured prompts list.
Gift Exchange
For the gift exchange, everyone will be secretly assigned a person to write a fic or make art for, matched according to your shared ships. There’s a simple form where you can provide details for what you’re offering as a gift and what you’d like to receive. Be sure to provide as much detail as possible and specify whether you are requesting or offering fic/art, what you are willing to create, and what you’d prefer to receive. For example, “I will write/draw fluff, but will not write/draw anything nsfw”.
When you submit, all fics will be invisible until the final submission date, when they will be revealed anonymously. Try to guess which fandom writer you received! The authors will be revealed on the 25th December.
Fics must be a minimum of 1,000 words (there is no maximum), and art (while subjective) must be of decent image size and quality. Your work must be submitted to the collection on AO3 (linked on this post). To give and receive gifts, you must have an AO3 account. Ships must involve consenting adults only. If you are submitting to the December Prompts, do not add your gift fic/art to that collection until after the authors have been revealed. No AI art or fic is permitted.
While this is for fun, please be serious about having something (relevant to the request given, of course) to submit. It would not be fair for someone to miss out after having put in a lot of hard work and effort on their own submission.
Due dates are as follows:
Sign up is open until 20th November 2023.
Completed work submission is 18th December 2023.
Authors are revealed on the 25th December 2023.

JUST Imagine this, Im sick so it wont make sense, but just IMAGINE 😎
Hecate Hardbroom - Talks about Mildred Hubble and gives deep deeeeeeep details about how it blew up and ended. She'll have the casual little mental breakdowns, she'll be like "Well met witches, Welcome" *sniffle and take a deep breath.* "today....I was teaching-" *Sniffle and deep breath again. wiping tears.* "I was teaching a simple color-changing potion....and- and MiiiIIIIIiiiiLLLlldred hUbBlE - she managed to botch that up" *full-on crying now.*
Ada Cackle: Talks about headmistress stuff. Records one episode, then doesn't get a new episode out for like 4 years, then realizes she and starts with "So its been a long time witches and wizards" *thinks for a while about what chaos to talk about. Hecate transfers in and looks really about to blow.* so she says: "a lot has happened since; I'll talk about it in the next episode" She is never heard from until another four years.
Miss Bat and Mister Rowen-Webb, wouldn't be using it so much, but it would be podcasts about Mister Rowen-Webb's life at the very "healthy and safe" pond or Miss Bat's snoring...you hear, "hello....." then Miss Bat asleep and snoring.
Geraldine Gullet OH MY GOSH THIS WILL BE EPISODE AFTER EPISODE ABOUT HEALTH AND SAFETY AND BATS BUT HEALTH AND SAFETY AND THIS IS HOW IT GOES "Welcome" in some robotic way (don't question me) "Chapter 104, page 193567, "How to be safe while reading my health and safety book" *READS FROM IT DIRECTLY AND DRAMATIC PAUSES AND SHE CONTINUES.* I am convinced she'll make you listen to all 9,999,999,999 episodes if she catches you doing one unsafe thing..
Dimity shes always acting like it is some blog, and just talks about her day, and her life at cackle, from the looks of stress and horror on Hecate's face to Mildred just being a joy, to how much she hates Arrabella, so she throws shade at that then ends with a mocking Geraldine thing, and says "Be healthy and safe little bats!" her podcasts are always filled with jokes, smart remarks and SPORTS ..LET ME NOT FORGET, 'sTaR oF tHe sKy"
