Another day another LU analysis with me!
Dawn 9 is here and with it the end of the next arc of the LU comic is done!
This update did a lot and is also a full 10 pages long! So there's a bunch to unpack!
As always linked universe belongs to @linkeduniverse and Jojo, I own none of the pictures I'm using and please give the original post some love. It's very well done and I love this comic so much.
You can find the comic here!
Oh, and obviously spoilers for the most recent LU update if you've not looked at it!
Now, checklist. Popcorn, water and time to read half an hour worth of rambling.
Without further ado!
The letters!
Tumblr media
So, Twilight, four and Time all appeared to get letters, with Time getting multiple (More on that later)
Twilights reaction to the super sale was my reaction while playing TP (I recently finished it for the first time! :D) when they opend the store in castle town. Every time i couldnt get there to get potions i was low key gutted.
And Four. Four's grandpa is a mood and i hope we get to meet him.
Tumblr media
HE
blorbo blorbo blorbo
The master of standing 🧍
Beloved blorbo i love him
Okay im done
Tumblr media
(Im not done)
Poor Sky He's so sad about it D:
But... I, as a part of the The team is heading to Skyloft next, team. Believe that Sun has done this on purpose. (Or that the Skyloftians dont have the mail system for him to retrieve anything) but i like to think its the first one.
Tumblr media
Hmmm.... Time got multiple letters. (That takes care of the letter discrepancy)
Twi asking about the ranch, Time looking to one of the letters. This tells me one of two things.
The letter he's looking to could be from Malon, and he's genuenly not concerned.
or The letter he's looking at isnt from malon. Infact, by the way he's looking at it i think its from his Zelda. Possibly a report about black bloods in his time period. (As last time we see them in Time's era. They dont actually fight anything)
Tumblr media
Twilight being cheeky and Time's dad face are giving me life.
But... as we know, Time is Twilights direct decendant only by a few generations at most. With the infomation we have from Twilight princess with Shade. And from jojo with Time and Twilight. I'm seeing this conversation as more of a father and son conversation over brothers.
And the rest of this conversation follows this same pattern. Twilight is very much being scolded. He's biting back with what he see's as Time's own words. (not that time know's as such)
Tumblr media
Twilight looks genuenly shocked to hear this.
Tumblr media
From the hero's shade (Time) in twilight princess.
"You may be destined to become the hero of legend...but your current power would disgrace the proud green of the hero's tunic you wear. "
I am screaming
Tumblr media
And now im screaming more. Twilight nooooooooooooo
Tumblr media
The we care about Twilight's well being gang. Spoiling us with the full body shots againnnnnnn.
Tumblr media
Give me more of these three i love them all together.
Tumblr media
And I'm convinced that theres going to be something bad happens to time directly after the end of the LU timeline.
Time is missing an eye. So we know that Shade and Time are closer together than the hero of time (In game). SO.... If time dosent Die on the adventure with the chain. I'm almost convinced he does almost right after he returns back to his time.
The armour is almost identical. He has most of the scaring which lines up....
If the helmet turns up, then i think Time dies during this adventure. It's the only thing i can see as missing.
Twilight.... Now i think Twilight thinks that the gods are giving him an opportunity to save the hero of time from dying to become the heros shade. but thats the funky thing about timetravel.
(Depending on how Jojo and LU time travels works.)
I believe that the timetravel in LU solidifies the adventures of the other links. And that nothign that occours in this adventure impacts their adventures. Even if something was changed it wouldnt change the past.
IE - Twilight breaking his shadow crystal wouldnt mean that wild didnt remember having the wolf on his adventure - as its already happened.
(I hope that makes sense. - time travel is confusing i see it as an alternative timeline type thing)
Moving on!
Tumblr media
Wild is best brother 101
Also twilight getting flustered about a girl oh bless this man i low key love him okay
Tumblr media
Her!
Also
Tumblr media
Smiley man
Tumblr media
Epona is a wonderful girl and i love her so much okay
Also Warriors!
HE LOOKS SO HAPPY AGAIN
Man got his emotional support scarf and is no longer stressed (Atleast not visably)
Tumblr media
HE!
BELOVED AGAIN HE IS SO HAPPY I AM NORMAL ABOUT THIS MAN
okay
Tumblr media
Please understand how much i am cackling at the shenanigans of these three.
Wind rolling around because it is clearly faster mode of travel
Go zoomies wind go zoomies!
Tumblr media
Wind rolled down the stairs you cant convince me otherwise. Look at his little superhero pose as hes moving around the corner.
Tumblr media
Older brother alert, dont ruin the kids fun warriors they are just getting excited about being on the road again.
Also Warriors, This is normal link behaviour. Just ask Time. He would eailsy tell you that he rolled around hyrule field.
Tumblr media
I LOVE HIS LITTLE FACE OKAY
MY BELOVED BLORBO 🧍
(if i run out of pictures i swear to hylia)
Tumblr media
There's so much brotherly energy in these panels i love them all so much okay.
Also Sky offering to Pay Time back for the Inn Fee this is why i love the wonderful blorbo okay
Tumblr media
Guys im sorry, he's their dad. You cant change my mind.
Thats a dad walk, with a dad sentence.
'Okay guys i need to make sure you are not gonna get killed please have swords.'
Tumblr media
The blacksmithing gang getting the love they deserve.
Tumblr media
Sky leading the charge! (I know its cause he knows the way and stuff But...)
It also makes a lot of sense. If Sky is the slowest of the group(Again not confirmed but we have had jokes about his stamina), it makes sense to put him at the front to maintain pace of the group. Stops people going too fast and prevents people from being left behind.
Which i might add has already happened. (Warriors and Hyrule im looking at you.)
Tumblr media
We just need to read the boss partterns for a bit so we can then decide how to fight it. You know, like we did when we were in our adventures and had to figure out boss mechanics.
Important that hyrule is saying this as his game is arguably one of the hardest. He probably spent a long time on each boss learning attack patterns.
Oh this arc was fun! So much fun i love it so much okay
Thank you so much again for hanging out with me while i write these. I love making them and i really appreciate all the support on them. (If you could share it around i'd really appreciate it :) )
Have a wonderful day! :D

Time for some happy/fluffy headcannons since I can :3
Sky sees all the Zeldas as his daughters since he and Sun created the royal lineage. No matter how distant, they are his and Sun's children no matter what. (Some of the Zeldas who didn't have good relationships with their dads *cough* Flora *cough* nearly sob in joy because of this). Also, the Zeldas get their prophetic dreams from him too.
Legend's nose does that cute twitching that rabbits do. It makes him so flustered whenever anybody points it out.
Four, if he were to ever met any of the Gerudo, would be highly respected by them despite his height. He is short, yes, but he is very strong, intelligent and can make his own weapons. He'd probably have to fight off suitors if he ever went to Wild's Gerudo Town, tbh.
Everybody from Ordon is blessed by Ordona, and they have square pupils like goats do because of this. Despite being Hylian, and not being born in Ordon like the others, Twilight was also blessed and later in life developed these same pupils. He loves them despite how creepy everybody else thinks they are.
Time actually gained a little weight after marrying Malon because he felt safe enough to do so. He always made himself stay at top shape in case he had to go on another quest, so when he didn't immediately get thrown into one he got a little meat on his bones. He didnt look like a skeleton anymore. Malon was happy he did, since he was always thin even as a child.
Warriors knits and sews and Proxy has a small hat he made with an itty-bitty pompom on top.
Wind is scared of lighting storms due to a bad sailing trip after his adventure, and Sky tries to comfort him despite also being terrified of lighting himself.
Wild's mother was a piece of Farore's spirit traveling Hyrule as a mortal, and fell deeply in love with his father. Both Wild and his sister are considered forest spirits, and his sister actually became a korok after her mortal body died. The first korok he ever finds is his sister :)
Hyrule really likes the non hostile Zora whenever they visit them, and he learned how to swim from them.
None of the Links can hold their alcohol. One drink and they are all tipsy beyond belief. Except Wind, he can take two drinks before he also is drunk off his rocker.
YAY FLUFFY HEADCANONS (god knows i need more of these after the obnoxiously sad headcanons i have)
- This is so cute actually, I can totally see Sky and Flora becoming close
- Legend 100% does that, I also headcanon he hops when he gets really excited
- OKAY THE ORDONA GOAT EYE THING IS ACTUALLY SO COOL??? THATS AN EPIC HEADCANON
- My favorite thing ever in fiction is when characters start to look physically happy and healthy as they recover from trauma, and I write a lot of this happening to Wars (because I gave him horrible food anxiety and write about how he’s been able to work over that and become a lot healthier and happier) and I can see this happening to Time too
- WARRIORS KNITS IS REAL. REAL AND TRUE. YOURE RIGHT AND YOU SHOULD SAY SO!! I can see him making sweaters for everyone
- Wind and Sky and Legend all being unnerved by storms 🤝
- I think it’d be hilarious if they couldn’t hold their alcohol and Wind could out drink them, but whenever I write these guys I always give them at least a couple instances where Twi gets a good few beers and Wars gets his wine. I don’t think Time would drink, not because he wants to be the responsible adult, but because he just doesn’t drink

I love Time’s Origin story. There are some questions that I want to ask.
1) Does Time have the ability to see alternate timelines?
For example: What would happen if Twi didn't exist?
2) I guess Time doesn't have a good relationship with Hylia. Would it change his views toward Zelda?
I am sorry if they are weird questions.
I love your cryptic au. Expect more questions from me xD I hope you don't mind it.
I’m glad you enjoyed his story haha! I’m happy to answer your questions!
1.) Yes, Time can see and interact with all possible timelines! Not just the three that we know. Literally anything. A timeline where Two was never born? A timeline where Link never fused with Aepon and became Sky? A timeline where Legend, Ravio, Wind, and Aryll were not victims of war? He could see it all if he wanted to. He could switch to a more favorable timeline if things go bad. Wars’ sword was broken? Hyrule fell in battle? He can simply switch over to an alternate timeline where it didn’t happen.
He doesn’t do that unless it’s life or death, like I said, since it just jumbles things up more and it’s his responsibility to keep everything in order. Every time he messes with the streams, they split even more, hundreds of new outcomes stemming from his single action. They get all tangled and- well, he’s disobeyed Nayru’s laws enough, don’t you think?
2.) Time doesn’t have a good relationship with Hylia, but he doesn’t take that out on Zelda. (I don’t know which Zelda you’re referring to, but the only one who’s actually Hylia is Sun. The others are merely descendants). Hylia has no association with Lullaby so Time doesn’t hold anything against her. For Sun? It’s a bit more complicated.
I’ve always held to the thought that Hylia may be Sun, but Sun isn’t Hylia. She lived her entire life as a mortal with no knowledge of the power that used her body as a vessel. She’s her own person, she had her own thoughts and feelings and personality outside of Hylia’s influence. She is Zelda first. Sky knows that. And Time… well, he knows Hylia. And Sun? Definitely isn’t her.

Starlight Glimmer (Re) Redesign!
Info under the cut!
So I uh. Revamped a lot LMAO. So this Starlight is almost the exact same as canon Starlight. Let’s talk about what I altered! As mentioned in my Sunburst design, Sunburst had sent her letters after he was all but dragged into magic school. However, the letters never make it. This thus creates a rift between them with the other thinking they weren’t friends anymore.
This leads to Starlight throwing herself into her studies so she can go to the school and one-up Sunburst. However, her emotions are highly tied to her magic (canon) so every time she attempts to apply, she messes up and is thus denied. At the last attempt, she is SO close to succeeding and grabbing the final open spot, but a certain purple unicorn steps in and steals the spot! Queue an early hatred for Twilight LMAO.
This leads her to her canon thought process that cutie marks were what stole her friend from her and she goes to her Village and steals everyone’s cutie marks with the promise that things are better this way. Instead of the equal sign, I changed it to them all being blank flanks. (The villagers don’t question why Starlight doesn’t have a cutie mark because it is rare for adults to not have a cutie mark, thus making them believe her lie about getting rid of her cutie mark). Same as canon that she takes the Mane 6′s cutie marks and escapes into the mountains once it’s revealed she lied.
Like canon, she follows the Mane 6 around to find a weak spot. At one point, they go to the Crystal Empire for a friendship problem. They convince Sunburst to help them. Unbeknownst to them, they were followed by Starlight Glimmer. She witnesses how he’s grown and watches him open up and make new friends of the Mane 6. He even asks if he could join them on their quest to bring friendship to all. Starlight notes that Twi and Sun are particularly close. This enrages Starlight and is the final push for her to devise a plan to destroy the Mane 6.
As for how she tries to destroy them, I’d think it would be close to canon. A slight change would be how Twilight asks her why she doesn’t just go back and talk to Sunburst. Starlight tells her it’s because she wants to ruin Twilight’s life just like she did when her and Sunburst became friends and how cutie marks/magic ruined her friendship with Sunburst. Twilight tells her that Sunburst mourns their lost friendship and reveals the letters that never made it to her. Feeling foolish, she undos the spell and disappears (instead of immediately being redeemed).
What happens to get her redeemed fully, I’m not sure. I’d like to think Starlight meets Trixie and the two hit it off (though Starlight won’t easily call them friends just yet to avoid heartbreak). She brings out the good in Trixie, though they can both be...a little morally gray. Twilight sees this and convinces Starlight to give friendship another try. Starlight says she’s not sure she remembers how after so long, thus leading her to becoming Twi’s student. Her reward once she solves her first friendship problem is a bracelet made by the Mane 6.
She does not get her cutie mark until post-redemption. After finding a new focus on friendship and her kite hobby, she gets her cutie mark (which is essentially her canon mark turned into a kite lmao). Her stars on her body also grow in number. Lastly, as a final part of her healing process, she regrows her unicorn beard and lets her mane and tail grow out. She also embraces some of her “imperfect” aspects and letting them shine through!
yes you can draw this design! just @ me to give me credit!

Uh hi! I am so bad at asking questions uhhhhh
Do each of the boys have a favorite place they like to nap?
Twilight: there’s somethin’ so special about nappin’ on the grass. It’s peaceful, the breeze blows through the trees, and the sun keeps you warm. There’s nothin’ like it!
Minish: in my bed. Is there anywhere else I’m supposed to nap?
Time: we have this arm chair that Talon would sleep in a lot. I’m not sure why, but I started to sleep in it too. It’s weirdly comfortable and I always get the best naps in there. No dreams whatsoever. It’s great. Me and Talon fight over it all the time.
Warriors: I never nap so I wouldn’t know.
Sky: I hear that napping in your bed is bad for your sleep schedule, so I usually nap in someone else’s bed or the bench.
Warriors: you sleep in someone else’s bed??
Sky: ok you guys always act like I do weird things but that’s just what we did! I cant tell you how many times I’ve gone into MY room only to find Zelda or Fledge sleeping in my bed. It’s normal in Skyloft!
Legend: well, it’s not normal anywhere else, I can tell you that. I don’t really nap that much either but… I will have to agree with Twi that sleeping in the grass, or outside in general is nice. I personally like to do it under my apple trees.
Hyrule; aren’t you scared that an apple is gonna fall on your face?
Legend: well, yeah, but it’s only happened once, and it really made me understand gravity.
Hyrule: hm… well, I like napping caves, or anywhere more… small? I don’t know, I like feeling covered when I sleep. Helps hides me away you know?
Four: we’ve all decided that napping in our bed is the only logical thing to do. A bed is there for you to sleep in right? So you should sleep in there.
Windy: clearly none of these guys have slept in hammocks before! I love sleeping on boats, and having that gentle rocking of the waves always soothes me to sleep. But you can’t have that on land, so I prefer sleeping in hammocks! You just tie them to two different trees and boom! Hammock that rocks with the wind. Luckily I’m able to use the windwaker to make a strong wind when there’s none! I highly suggest that everyone uses hammocks!
Spirit, writing: can’t go wrong with the floor.
Wild: one time I fell asleep while standing up, it wasn’t very comfortable though, I wouldn’t suggest it. I do like sleeping near campfires. There’s something nice about it. Plus, it keeps you warm.
Age: goddesses I wish I had time to nap.

So this is one of the first times writing for any fandom really. But I just love LU stuff and I thought I’d try it out. This is a little beginning of chapter 1 for a fic I wanna write! If you have any suggestions or comments I would love to hear them, I’m always open for constructive feedback! :)
——————————————————
It was dark, terrifyingly so. This darkness compares to the kind he faced in his early days in depths; dark, cold, and haunting. He wanted to rationalize, wonder about what was happening, where he was; but it seems he’s lost the ability to think. He could only exist. This darkness resembled the depths in another way too, it held a sort of tenseness or anticipation. He held his breath, like he has before the release of an arrow, or as he’s going in for a sneak attack. Only this time, he's waiting. Waiting for something to happen, and it did. Pain, surging hot, crawls up his right arm in a fast succession, draining him from what seems like anything. Taking whatever it can in a matter of seconds. It's hot, boiling, like the heat on Death Mountain. Up his arm it crawls, burning, making him twist and turn in agony. It's all his hazy mind can think about, the pain that shot through his system.
Link suddenly lurches forward, eyes wide and breathing hard. He realizes he’s gripping fabric, more specifically the blankets he's currently under. ‘Ah.’ he thinks, ‘just a dream, of course’. Rubbing his eyes he notes how that's been a recurring dream for a while now, he should have guessed at this point. Although it was just a dream, his right arm is slightly sore and achy, from what? Link hasn’t a clue. He’s still trying to get used to having his real arm back, yes with some alterations like Rarus’ markings, but still it wasn’t too much to handle.
It seems to be early morning, Link deduced, not just because of the clock; but also because the sun is still rising over the hills and from the looks of it not many people are up in TarryTown. Despite it still being early, it seems Zelda has left the room. To that, Link begrudgingly gets up.
Walking out of his bedroom, he walks down the upstairs hallway. The relocation was nice, Link always adored TarryTown, he helped build it after all. Plus two houses? That’s two places he could stay for free! Win win in his book. Walking down the hall he passed by several doors. Another thing he liked about TerryTown was that he could customize his house. Having his own kitchen, study, and bedroom, he loved it. Getting to design something was his main joy in the project, before he just put weapons on the walls. Now he still did that, 100%, but he decorated too, Zelda was rather thrilled her decorating lectures didn’t go to too much waste. Something he made sure to add to this house was guest rooms. Four to be exact, each situated with two beds. Perfect to hold, altogether eight people. Link saddened a bit at the reminder. It was true, he did add those rooms in the thought of them, on the off chance that they’d ever be able to come back to his own era. Thinking he could do something for his team, even while he wasn’t with them, put some ease into his mind and heart about the whole situation, which made it easier to move on.
Walking down the stairs, Link's thoughts still went on. He hated how much he thought about them, how much he was affected by the departure. Link would often catch himself thinking ‘Twi would hate this plan’, ‘Legend would want that’, ‘That’s something Time would say’, and so on. It got tiring, everything reminded Link of them. He hated it. He hated how even after the countless months, a little over half a year, he was still haunted by the thought of them. Like Hylia herself wanted to keep rubbing in the fact that he didn’t succeed, and that he had to leave them. It had only gotten worse after the battle with Ganondorf. Up until a few days ago, he could keep the thoughts and memories out, focus on the mission. Leave those moments in the back of his mind, continue forward because he had more important things to worry about, he wanted to have more important things to worry about. But now? After the journey? After catching Zelda in his arms a week or so ago? The chain was all he could think about.
Getting down the stairs to the first floor was a struggle, he was still sore from his second adventure and his muscles and bones ached like all hell. Old scars that covered his left side pulling and itching. ‘This sucks’ He decided. Making his way to the kitchen he starts pulling out ingredients. Just because he was sore didn’t mean he still couldn’t cook, no way! After the battle Zelda, and everyone else, put him on strict bedrest; something he said he didn’t need. However he couldn’t have argued that much if he tried, Teba was already giving him a stern dad glare from the first rebuttal. As boring as it was, he was able to get around to doing some things he needed to. One of those being cooking, specifically trying new recipes. Link gained many new recipes over this journey and he’s set on perfecting and personalizing each and every one. What else is he to do with his time? However he unfortunately didn’t get a chance to even gather everything, before he felt something. A sensation flowed through the house, with it carried a familiar and eerie feeling. A strong magic went from room to room, and seemed to be stemming from outside, so ever the brave, Link went towards the front door with nothing but a wooden spoon and a small dose of ‘not wanting to deal with this kind of bs’. Opening the door Link was greeted by-
Nothing.
‘Well that was extremely anti-climatic’ he thought. It was the same old grassy hill and just below it was a view of TarryTown, just how he liked it. Sighing Link turned back around, acknowledging the whole ordeal as wishful thinking, and started back into the house. Well, he almost did, if it wasn’t for a familiar sound. Link knew this sound all too well, it was what led him to meet his family, and what led him to leave them too. He could remember the sound of space splitting and time warping anywhere. After turning so fast that he was surprised his head didn’t twist off, Link was met with an equally welcoming and overwhelming sight. A portal. Right on his lovely front lawn.

Had a request (a year ago) for my fic "Same, Yet Different" to be extended and I finished the first chapter today and posted it. Guess the name... yep, "Same, Yet Different (EXTENDED)" easy🤣
Anyhoo... thought I would share the first bit on here. Hope ya enjoy!
----------------------------------------------------------
Summary: The chain is for some ungodly reason dropped off in Wild's era, but pre-Calamity. The jokes the Goddess was pulling on them now were getting sick and twisted. With no choice, they head to the buzzing castle. It only gets worse from there for Wild as he is forced to face his past in a different light. But in the end, even after the Chain leaves this form of Wild's era, death is always owed it's dues.
“Portal!” That was the fifth one in a week and the groans that came from literally all of the Chain when Time announced it, was enough to show that they were tired of it.
Reluctantly the nine went through in pairs and were met by a beautiful morning sun, bright colors from the grass, trees, flowers and buildings. The amount of people buzzing along the streets reminded the group of ants scurrying around looking for food.
Wind smiled at the sights. “This place feels familiar, but new! Anyone recognize it?”
“Master Sword is gone!” Sky shrieked. The others looked around to see if it had dropped nearby, but it was Wild who spoke up. “This isn’t right… We shouldn’t be here.”
Twilight and Warriors, closest to him, turned at his words. “Wild?” Wars asked first.
Wild’s eyes grew wider. “This isn’t supposed to happen. We can’t be here…”
“Cub, do you know where we are?” Twi made sure not to touch Wild when he was like this or else the scarred hero would probably take off sprinting.
“Not where… when.” Wild felt faint as he shakily took a step closer to the edge of the hill. “This is my era, but pre-Calamity.”
The heads of the others slowly turned from Wild, to the world ahead of them. “Should we go to the castle?” Sky asked, breaking the silence growing heavier over them now that the reasoning for the sword going missing was clear.
Wild shook off his shock for the moment. “I don’t know how safe that will be, but we need answers and know what day it is. Don’t ask questions and keep your ears open.” He pulled his hood over his head, concealing his identity the best he could. There would be too much explaining to do if someone even slightly though they knew who he was.
That hope went out the window quickly as they trekked through Castle Town. People were whispering about the Calamity’s arrival and how Zelda’s was going to be ruling over a kingdom of nothing soon if the evil wasn’t stopped. Wild tried to ignore the gossip as he remembered the defeated look on Zelda’s face when her father said similar words to her. Not only that, people had noticed them.
Wind took an extra step towards Warriors. “Uh, guys, we are being followed.”
Wild softly, tensely, responded, “Nine men of ranging ages who are armed to the teeth, right before the end of the world. I figured this would happen.” Approaching the gate was where Wild’s nervousness spiked. Spears crossed at the entrance. “Weapons left at the gate if you want entry.” a guard said.
“Like that is ever going to happen.” Legend scoffed.
“What business do you have?” the second guard asked with the same board tone.
Time took over, setting a hand on Legend’s shoulder as a warning for him to stay quiet. “We have urgent business with the King. We wish to have an audience with him.”
“Weapons stay here if you want that.” the second guard said, repeating the rules as if he was a broken record. It was then that he looked at Wild and Wild knew what he was looking at, his tunic. “Captain Link? Why are you with these men and not the Princess?”
Wild took two steps back . “I believe you have mistaken me for someone else.” His back hit a solid wall, but that wall was a person.
Before Wild could even take a breath, his hood was ripped down from his head. “Impersonator! Seize them all!!”
The fight that broke out was short lived since Wild hadn’t had the chance to defend himself. He grabbed by the hair, yelping at the painful tug on his scalp and thrown to his back. The knight that did this swiftly stomped his heel into Wild’s chest, shoving all the air out of him as the feeling of his sternum began to crack. He tried to suck in the precious air, but only got dirt as he was forced face down into the ground.
The second a sword was placed at Wild's throat, Sky hollered out, “Stop!” Seven heroes went still, following Sky’s wide eyed expression to where Wild was face down, a boot between his shoulders and a claymore pressed to the side of his neck.
Weapons, adventure pouches, jewelry -Legend was pissed-, armor and Sheikah Slate were seized without question. Even Twilight’s crystal was taken, but placed in his pouch when he shouted that it was too dangerous to hold. Surprisingly the guard believed him. Once they all were stripped and bound, they were escorted into the castle.
Everyone’s eyes took in the grand halls and rooms that they all knew to be destroyed by the Calamity. The one room Wild didn’t want to enter, was where the king was. The Sanctum. Oh how he hated that room and wished it would burn if only to prevent the abomination that will inhabit it wouldn’t get the chance to. At the center of the room stood the King and his advisors, talking over what could be assumed to be the upcoming events.
“Your Majesty.” The knight holding Wild said as they walked in, stopping a good distance away.
“I am busy. If it does not contribute to how we beat the Calamity, it is not important.” The King kept his back to the new arrivals.
“We caught these men trying to enter the castle. One is impersonating the Hylian Champion.”
The King straightened up with those words, quickly turning around. His eyes roamed over the other eight before taking a step towards Wild. “So, Aster has upped his Dark Magic game. Creating hollows was not good enough for him, so he created you. Too much magic poured into you, left you scarred.”
Wild blinked up at him, confused on who Aster was or what even a hollow was. “Your Majesty, I was not created by whoever yo-” Wild doubled over with a cough, gasping for air.
“You do not speak unless granted that right!” Wild was getting fed up with the knight holding onto him.
The King stepped away. “Who among you is this group's leader?”
Wild begged that none of them would speak up, but when a metal covered fist collided with his jaw, Time spoke. “I am, your Majesty.”
“How long have you known this boy?”
“Long enough. We only recently arrived though.”
“Arrived? Where did you come from?”
“Termina.” Time’s tongue was quick, but would it work?
“Hmm.” The King grabbed Wild by the chin. “How do you know that he isn’t a Yiga and is trying to infiltrate the castle by joining your little band of boys? Seems unlikely to be any other reason.”
“Just throw a banana at him and see.” Wind scoffed quietly. Unfortunately no one found it funny. Wind let out a yelp and a cry as he was gripped by the hair and brought up to his tiptoes.
“Leave him alone!” Warriors snapped.
“We are all heroes from different eras and have been sent on this journey to stop the one called Dark Link. We don’t know how we got here, but we are here to help.”
The king held up his hand, a look of disgust on his face. “I will not have lies spewed from the mouths of boys. I refuse to believe that any of you are anything more than shapeshifting Yigas. Take them away and separate that one from the rest.” He was pointing at Wild.
“No, wait, we are telling the truth!” Hyrule hollered out.
Wild was trying to think through the panic.
Sky thrashed. “Where is the Princess and her knight? We could prove all of this if we could just see them.”
Unamused, the King stepped away while saying, “They are no concern to you, boy. The Calamity will be upon us in a few days and my daughter’s sealing powers have not awakened. Those two are doing what needs to be done.”
At that, Wild shouted, “It won’t matter! Nothing she does will work, nothing worked back then except one thing and by that point it was too late! Please, King Rhoam, listen to me. I can help, I have already lived through it all.”
The King’s scowl grew darker, “You claim these things to be true, but I will not listen to Ganon sympathizers, spies against the crown.”
“The Calamity takes over on Zelda’s seventeenth birthday. If that is in a few days, that means nearly a week you ordered me to be flogged in the street due to Zelda getting a cut on her cheek while seeing Urbosa.” Wild could see the shock in his brother’s eyes.
“Everyone was there for it, so I’m sure you heard about it.” The King stopped and turned back around. “Maybe you would like to have the same fate tomorrow at noon for your insolence. Take them away.”
Rage built up inside the feral hero. How could the King be so blind? He screamed out towards the man he learned to dislike through his memories. “No wonder she hates you! You are sentencing her to one hundred years of hell, trapped with Ganon in this very room. You are a heartless tyrant of a King!” He spat at the King’s boots. The man still holding him, turned and collided his knee to Wild’s midsection.
“Wild, he isn’t going to listen to anything we have to say, even when it is all true. This is just going to make it worse for you.” Time’s voice held a calmness to it, but his eye was holding pure fire.
“Should listen to your elder because if you continue, there’s a sword waiting for your neck tomorrow.” With the King’s final words to them, they all were taken to the Castle Town Prison.
The first eight were told to peacefully walk inside the single holding cell while a blade was once again held to Wild’s throat to give some incentive to do as they were told. When they had, Wild was walked into his cage of a cell, violently shoved into the back wall where a small window with bars stood. His face hit the harsh stone, pain flashing quickly through him until it was only his nose that clearly hurt. Warmth trickled from his nose and he didn’t bother to remove it as he curled into a tight ball in the corner furthest from his brothers.
It broke Twilight’s heart to see his cub like this. It had been four months since Wild joined the pack of heroes and every day they all in their own way tried to help the wild child come out of his shell. It took time and several long nights of Twilight staying pressed to the boys back for Wild to start accepting physical contact (outside of Twi/Wolfie who he openly would tackle to the ground as if they were wolf pups, or Wild would plop into Twilight lap just to be annoying) and even longer for Wild to actually talk to them outside of short signing. It was like starting over from the cub's adventure since Twi had been there in his wolf and Hylian form for him. Twilight went to the bars that separated them, placing his forehead against the cold metal. “Cub, can you talk to us?” He sighed when Wild tried to make himself even smaller. “Or at least come closer so I can take a look at ya?”
That got the other to stir some. Wild’s blue eyes, rimmed red, looked over his scarred arm. Twilight reached out his arm through the square bar openings, beaconing Wild to come closer. The younger didn’t hesitate to stand on wobbly legs and got to the comforting embrace waiting for him. He collapsed against the bars, clinging to Twilight as much as he could.
“Hey, we are going to figure this out, one step at a time.” Twilight reassured as he took the freshly torn bottom at Times cream tunic that was offered to clean the boy’s face.
Face cleaned of blood as best as it could be and plenty of time gone by for the hero to calm down, a second hand began to rub Wild’s scalp. It wasn’t something common for Time to do, but Wild was a sucker for that kind of affection and Time wasn’t going to miss the opportunity to make sure Wild knew that he was cared for. Malon would kill him… “Cub, do you mind if we ask a few questions so we better understand a few things?”
Sniffling, Wild nodded, “Sure.”
Legend didn’t wait a single second to ask his frustrated question. “Is the King always that much of a fucking asshole?!” Wild snorted and Legend took that as a win.
“Yes, always. He is worse with Flora, but only with words. He would never lay a hand on her or let anyone else.”
“H-he had you publicly punished?” Hyrule looked mortified.
“Twice.”
Shuffling closer to Warriors, Wind grabbed the pate tunic. When they were stripped off all armor and chainmail, the guards didn’t bother to hand the top tunics back, leaving some of them in basic under tunics. “What for? There can’t be any good reason for such a thing, you’re too nice.”
It warmed Wild’s heart to hear that that’s how Wind felt about him. “The first time was because I verbally couldn’t answer the King. He took it as I was being disrespectful. My Dad told him what was really the issue and the King blamed my parents for my lack of speech when it was truly the inability to.”
Time’s hand stilled suddenly. “Wild, was your family alive during pre-Calamity?”
There was no chance to answer the question when a voice from Wild’s past was heard loud and clear. “Where is he?!” Wild’s breath hitched.
“Cub?” Time asked with no little amount of concern.
“He’s here.” Wild breathlessly whispered and pulled the hood of his cloak that somehow didn’t get taken away, over his head.
The guards outside continued to talk. “Who, Sir?”
“The boy everyone keeps saying is impersonating my son!”
“Captain, the King gave explicit orders for no one to interact with these men.
“Does it look like the King is here right now? Move out of my way and this stays a secret, understood?”
“Y-yes Captain, of course.”
Keys jingle into the iron door unsteadily. A man, near Time’s height, walked proudly through the door, stopping at the cells holding the heroes. The man looks similar to Wild how he would look in fifteen years or so. Honey blonde hair cropped at his shoulders pulled half back, light scruff and blue eyes that could look through a man’s soul. Nine pairs of eyes followed every movement the man made towards Wild’s cell.
Twilight felt nails dig into his arms as the man opened the cell door, taking a few steps in.
“Link?” The man knelt down only a few feet away when Wild flinched. He could see the grip the boy had of the other’s arm. He sighed, “If you are truly the future version of my Link, would you please look at me?”
Wild’s heart rapidly drummed in his chest. What would his father think of him if he saw the scars? Would he actually believe anything they said? He took a needed breath and looked up from under the hood.
Their eyes met and the man smiled. “I know those eyes. I’m sure everything is confusing right now, but I am willing to listen if you would like to explain things to me.” When Wild opened his mouth to speak, he was stopped. “You can talk?”
“Not until I defeated Ganon, could I properly talk outside of a few basic words. It was as if my voice was tied to the evils being reborn to Hyrule. I-I’m not very good with explaining any of this stuff. It is normally done by the others, but we nine were brought together to track down the one we have been calling the Shadow. He is infecting monsters to make them more powerful. We are hoping eras through all three timelines to rid the monsters and take down the Shadow, we somehow landed here this morning.”
“You are all heroes?”
“We are.”
“Could you be here to prevent something from happening?”
“I don’t know. Everything went wrong from the moment the Calamity struck. Zelda’s power never woke until it was too and I had already di-” With the others still not knowing his story still, he cut himself short.
“Son, you had already what?”
Wild curled into himself some more. “Failed.”
“Take off your hood.”
“You don’t want to see-”
“I want to see my son.”
Wild’s throat tightened as he reached for the hood that concealed his shame. He kept his head turned so the left side of his face was not showing, hiding it. He gasped when a warm hand cradled his scarred jaw and cheek. There was no pity in the expression or in his blue eyes, only a burning desire to protect.
“What happened to you, that you carry these at such a young age?” He rubbed his thumb over uneven skin.
“Five direct hits from several Guardians.” Wild ear twitched when he heard the choked gasps from a few of the others. They all had seen the destruction the mechanical spiders could do.
It was Four that spoke up, asking the question everyone was thinking. “Wild, you said that a single direct hit would kill someone, but you took five. How did you survive that?”
Wild figured it was going to be talked about at some point. “I didn’t.
Two hands on Wild’s face brought his attention back to his father in front of him. If he was fighting emotions, he was doing a wonderful job at it. “Is the princess alive?”
“Yes.”
A small smile appeared. “Then you did not fail.” A knock on the door dragged a sigh of sadness from the man. The knock meant that time was up. “I am going to try and fix this, okay? I can’t make any promises, but the present you will be here tomorrow close to noon. Surely we can get all his mess cleaned up. Rest for now.”
With a stray tear falling through the little bit of dirt and blood on his cheek, Wild stood as his father did. When they stood face to face, the other asked, “How long has it been since you last saw us?”
Swallowing thickly, Wild answered, “102 years.” The frown grew significantly on his fathers face. Wild didn’t know what to expect next, but he wasn’t expecting the crushing hug he was pulled into. A hand carded through his long hair and now he realized why he responded so positively to that feeling. He hesitated at first before melting into his father’s arms, clinging to cold metal armor. The comforting kiss to his head was no surprise at the slightest remembrance started to come back, but then it was gone.
After the bars locked back and he watched his father leave, his heart became frantic, eyes unfocused and mouth becoming dry. The unsteady breathing turned into hyperventilating and it only grew worse when he thought of a second chance to see his parents, his family.
Himself… he was going to have to stand in front of what he used to be. No, he couldn’t. He could stand to be judged by himself or see the others clearly point out the differences.
“Wild?” Time said first, but the voice was muffled as if cotton was shoved into his ears. “Hey, calm down a bit. Everything is going to be fine.”
“Cub, slow down.” Twilight sounded just as panicked as Wild looked.
“He’s going to pass out.” Four?
“Any of us would.” Wars?
Wild swayed on his feet at black dots took his sight. Time’s voice rang clear, “Pup, help me grab him before he falls!”
Two sets of hands grabbed Wild through the metal bars, yanking him over just in time. They sat him down slowly instead of letting him fall. One hand was in his hair, another on his chest to keep him upright. Words of encouragement were said, but the darkness around his vision took over and Wild slumped to his left against the bars.
“Well, he’s out.” Four said with a heaviness in his tone, seeing the limp form of his brother.
Warriors rubbed his face in frustration. “Let him sleep through as much as he can. I just hope his old man has a trick or two up his sleeves.”
“What are we going to do? How do we get him out of here before-” the sailor tried to stop the sob from bubbling out of his throat. “This isn’t right! Why is the King so cruel? Why is his whole world so cruel to him?!”
Legend placed a comforting hand on the youngest’s shoulder as Hyrule drew him into a side hug. “It explains a lot though if you think about it.” Legend started. “Even if his world isn’t like this now, it was still engraved into him.”
Warriors sighed, “Feral child for more than one reason it seems.”
Time’s mind swirled with emotions that he hid from the others because it was truly different for him to see this play out. He kept carding his fingers through long blond locks, careful to not snag the snares that Wild had no care to remove. A slight smile crossed his lips at how free spirited this boy was, but it faded quickly because this was a boy that he saw as his own.
He saw all of them that way honestly. When Twilight had come forward while they switched watch shifts about a small part of his adventure and told Time that he was his descendant, Time was excited, all smiles and couldn’t wait to tell Malon about the discovery that one day they would have a family. Of course the thought of failure was there because Twilight shouldn’t have ever been chosen as a hero to clean up the mess he left behind.
Arriving in Wild’s true era and seeing the feral child who growled at them all for getting too close brought the failure back full force, because Twilight had already told them about the hero he helped that was family by blood and then they finally made it there. When Twilight broke through the group and stood between them and the new hero, Wild stilled and looked to be nearly in tears before he jumped into the other’s arms and refused to let go for at least an hour.
So these two were his own flesh and blood, separated by an unknown amount of generations. That same flesh and blood was going to be split and spilt tomorrow if they could find a way to get out of this mess. He kept his mind to the present though, to the steady breaths and warmth he was helping hold onto. He could think about tomorrow, tomorrow. He could be angry tomorrow.
Tomorrow came too soon.

I forgot to send this in, oops!
What are some relationship (not just romantic, but any type of relationship) headcanons you have for the chain (plus people like Malon, the Zeldas, etc)?
So I'm generally not good at picking up subtle parts of platonic relationships for the Chain because Jojo is really good at subtle writing. I have autism. Enough said. Anyway, I'll just focus on romantic relationships for the Chain and kinda expand on the Zeldas because I feel some are headcanons that very few people have for the Links and Zels. (A lot of my ideas for the Zeldas come from my Hylia's Heroines AU where all the Zeldas meet)
I'm not usually the type to come up with romance related headcanons, but I adore the canon ones between Time and Malon, and Sky and Sun. There's something so tooth-rottingly sweet between each of their relationships, even if we only see Sky's through his perspective. Another one I like the idea of is Hyrule and Aurora, who's the Zelda from Link's Adventure. The idea I have for her is a kind of energetic girl with traits like of Legend. Very sarcastic and good with humour, quite sassy. I love her. Their love almost comes off as puppy love, it's very sweet and affectionate.
Not talking about Aurora and Hyrule, the different Zeldas are obviously my interpretations because we haven't seen a single Zelda in the actual comic (bar Flora in a flashback for a single panel). I'll split it into sections coz it's easier to read that way.
Basically co-workers;
Time and Lullaby, Twi and Dusk, and Wars and Athena(/Artemis) fall under this category, but in different ways. While Twi and Dusk spent very little time together and thus don't know each other on too friendly of a level, Time and Lullaby basically worked to saved Hyrule together, though by differing means based on the timeline. I imagine Time became a little connected to Lullaby in the Adult Timeline, which carried over to the Child Timeline and they became friendly as kids after Time reported Ganondorf as a traitor. After he left for Majora's Mask and returned to Hyrule, I think the two would have reconnected. They're riding the line between co-workers and basically siblings lol.
Warriors and Athena fought a war together, they bond based on trauma but due to the fact that their relationship was solely formed during the war and is between a soldier and a princess, they keep it professional. It's likely to furthest Wars got was possibly becoming a battle advisor/planner.
Siblings
Legend and Fable being siblings is one of my favourite relationship headcanons the fanon has. I have no idea where it came from but its very interesting, one of my current favourite LU fics follows this idea. In my eyes, they're very distant since Legend grew up outside of the castle. They're still civil but it's almost like Legend isn't a prince at all.
Another one is Dawn (Zelda 1) and Hyrule, though they're similarly a little bit distant towards each other, though they aren't actually siblings. Dawn takes a lot more after Fable than Aurora and there's a whole succession crisis thats happening now that there's a second princess in the mix. There's a lot of resentment and petty arguing, which includes playing homeworker and messing with each others love lives. Hyrule's aware of it but doesn't really know the extent because of his complete lack of knowledge about court politics. He stays away from Dawn mostly out of respect to Aurora but is civil when needing to interact with Dawn.
Tetra and Wind too! I see Tetra as an adult and grew up thinking that so I place them squarely in the sibling section. They're very close actually, they feel a bit like best friends lol.
Friendly (but in differing ways)
Four and Dot come to mind - I see them as second cousins because of their connections to Sky and Sun. They grew up together so their childhood besties basically, but it's like remixed because they're cousins so it makes it closer I guess? It's a bit chaotic post-Four Swords, but they manage lol.
Wild and Flora are here too, they reconnected after BotW and hang around each other. It's prob really hard to get a monarchy going again after Hyrule's governed by independant states so she likely just wanders around with him and does scscieny things. Technically Tetra and Wind fit in here too, on Legend and Fable on a good day. Oh, and Time and Lullaby. Yeah some ride the lines between categories and get honorary placements lol.
Honourable Mentions!
For the other love interests! Twilight has Midna and Ilia. It's a bit complicated for him, I think hes got a forbidden love kinda thing going on with Midna, but does eventually get with Ilia coz it's considered the right decision for him. There will always be that longing for Midna though.
Wild and Mipha are complex too, Mipha obviously loved the person who Wild used to be, but it's up in the air whether it was reciprocated due to things such as his position and his role and expectation etc. I personally think its an alliance thing - Rhoam's relations with the Zora is getting rocky, and there isn't a Zora Prince for his previous Zelda to marry, but there is a princess who seems to fawn over Zelda's bodyguard. Wild likely doesn't hold any such feelings for her in BotW due to the detattchment between him and his previous self, but still feels and understands what happened as most people remember their memories through the emotions they felt in the moment.
Legend and Ravio definitely have something going on, whether it be a once begrudging friendship turned close or a bromanceof some kind, no one really knows and they certainly don't either. All they know is that since they're living together in close proximity anyway, might a well just chill out within arms reach of each other.
And any relationship that came about amongst Skyloft's Knight Academy is solely Sky's doing. He's playing matchmaker and sussing out who's in who's mind. I imagine the thing with Patrice was genuine and they did like each other for a small amount of time before Sky discovered he loved Sun, but Patrice knew it wouldn't work out because he's searching for Sun and could almost sense the longing he had for his best friend. It didn't really matter if it was platonic or romantic longing, but Patrice knew it wouldn't work out so she split it off. It was nice for a while.
And my girl Linkle! She's is wholly underrepresented in this fandom which is a complete injustice. I imagine that she is Wars' older sister that donned her green clothes to protect both her country, her farm, and what was left of her family. I have a whole rewrite for Hyrule Warriors in a Google Doc that makes Linkle a part of the main story, wherein she creates a friendship with Lana and Midna, and I feel that for some reason I may have made Linkle and Midna connect a little too much for it to not come off as romantic. Who knows, maybe Midna just has a thing for farm-living heroes in green?

I'm Datin' a Demon - Chapter 1 - Summonin'
Tumblr media
This fanfic is written by myself and my GF @sigmath-bits
Trigger warnings - Blood, ritualistic self-harm, and swearing
Outside, the sun is lowering toward the horizon, causing a warm orange glow to cast across the scattered pink clouds of the sky.
Inside of the Golden Oak Library, Twilight sits alone in the dim light that pours in. She is reading a mysterious green-spined book. The cover is a deep charcoal black adored with a blood-red demonic symbol. A polished grey mechanical hoof is flicking through the pages. Her right hoof is keeping her balance. Each page consists of arcane text and symbols.
“Hmmm, surely it will work this time without incident,” she thinks aloud to herself.
She stops at a page, reading over it. She narrows her one good eye as she reads a passage, a gauze bandage wrapped around the left side of her face.
“Spiiiiiike!”
Spike walks clumsily up the stairs from the basement, watching his feet over a bunch of black-coloured candles he holds in his arms. “I’m coming! I’m coming!”
“Good.”
Her eyes scroll across the page, furrowing her brow with an exhale. “Alright, let’s get this over with.”
She rolls up the right sleeve of her dark grey jacket with a hoof. A red glow forms around her horn as she magically levitates the book to her nearby book stand in the centre of the room. From the same table she levitates a silver razor-sharp ornate knife with runic carvings etched into it.
With a swift motion she slashes the knife across her right forearm.
“FUCK!”
The blade clatters to the oak floor, along with a few trailing drops of blood. Her teeth clench as she wets the hard metallic surface of her robotic hoof with the blood from the wound. Walking around the room, her hoof draws a large precise circle with an inscribed six-pointed star resembling her cutiemark inked in her blood. The blood dries out from her metal hoof just as she finishes the inscription.
She tends to her wound. “Spike, quickly! Place the candles already, dammit!”
He nods. Quickly yet carefully he places each candle in their proper place.
“Phew … Twi, we should really take a long break from all this demon summoning stuff…” He gives an exasperate sigh. “Remember what happened to you last time? I mean, look at you! Have you told Princess Celestia yet?” Spike tilts his head towards Twilight with with a concerned frown.
Twilight rolls her one eye, issuing an annoyed grunt. “They don’t need to know!” She shakes her head. “Besides, I have everything under control, Spike. Now, please, just light the candles!”
“Fine…”
One by one, he breaths his green flame on each candle, lighting them. The blood-enscribed circle glows a soft red and fills the air with a low quiet hum.
“Yes, perfect!” She grins manically, rubbing her hooves together.
The black and green-spined book levitates back over to her within a red glow. She begins to recite an incantation from the page.
“Kcab gnir binome dash, tpe deht htae neb morfk. Calb foseld nacd, erfog nir!”
The final word leaves her lips and the candle flames grow to an unnatural height, towering tall above the two figures. Green and yellow swirls dance in Twilight’s wide eager eyes, her lips pursed in a joyful smirk.
The library door is swung open violently, crashing loudly into the wall. Twilight turns her head sharply toward the door.
“Hey, Twi!” Obliviously barreling in is a bright cyan mare adorned with a black leather jacket and a shaven rainbow mow-hawk dyed black at the root. “Ya’ busy?”
Looking up to the tall green flames, her hooves touch the ground. “W-What the—?”
Twilight grits her teeth in anger. “Dash! Now’s not the time! I’m in the middle of something!”
Suddenly, the swirling green flames erupt into a volcanic tower of glowing light at the exact moment the sun sets below the horizon outside. The sky is painted a blood red as the clouds swirl around the Golden Oak Library in a vortex of fury, air screaming in through the open door.
The flames finally dissipate and the sky suddenly clears. Left amidst the aftermath is the dark silhouette of a unrecognisable pony-like figure with spired tall horns, sharp pointed ears, and a thin rattling tail that trails behind her across the floor.
Rainbow Dash sits in silence with her mouth agape.
“Woah.”

Knock. Knock.
The door to the childcare cubicle opened and a pale rose Twi’Lek woman blinked up at Maul. “Yes?”
He gave her his most gentlemanly, “I am just a single dad in this hard, cruel world with an absolutely adorable baby girl” smile, bracing Melicent on his hip as she chewed on one of her little chew toys. “Hello. My daughter was here last night and I think she left something of hers? Could I bother you to try to find it, hm?”
The Twi’Lek waved a hand at him. “Sure. Come on in. What’re you looking for?”
“It is a little earring,” Maul lied, pointing to the one in his own ear. “It is a cuff but something like this.”
“Yikes. Okay, uh-”
“I’ll just start over here.”
She gave him a relieved smile. The girl couldn’t be older that fifteen. At least Maul seemed like he had an idea of what to do. “Yeah, okay, I’ll go look in the bins.”
“Papa,” Melicent whined, abandoning her teething toy and hugging herself into his chest. “Noooo…” she whispered to him.
“I know, darling, I know… Papa needs to find something out. Just hide on Papa, yes?”
“Mmmm…” She did just that, pressing her face into him like her life depended on it.
Maul winnowed his way around the room, pretending to look for the earring. But his eyes danced over the hands of the children who were in there. There weren’t many, and while Maul did spy some of the similar sun marks on a few of the others, not all of them had one. Which was odd. What was this mark supposed to signify? Why only a few received it?
“Sir? Mister… Um… Jaganath?” The young staffer came hurrying over, looking dismayed. “Sorry, but there’s nothing. And I looked hard. I have a cuff like that so…” She shrugged. “Yeah.”
He gave her an understanding nod. “That is alright. These things happen. Thank you for your assistance. I do have one more thing?”
“Sure,” the staffer answered, smiling. “What’s that?”
“You will tell me what the signet means.”
“I will tell you what the signet means.” The Twi”lek nodded. “I will. What signet?”
Melicent started scrubbing her hand on Maul’s chest again, whispering his name over and over.
“The one on the childrens’ hands. What does it mean?”
The expression on the girl’s face was pliant but… she didn’t know. Maul could feel how uncomplicated her mind was and there was no deception. Not under his scrutiny.
“Papa…”
Maul looked down at Melicent. She didn’t sound worried. She sounded frightened. Instead of hiding her eyes, she was focused on something behind him, her fists tight on his jumpsuit. Maul wordlessly dismissed the Twi’Lek and turned, cupping one hand around the back of Melicent’s head.
There was nothing to be alarmed over, that struck Maul immediately that is. But the longer he stood and just watched another staff member pass around juice and snacks… Maul saw it. As the staffer circulated, they adjusted their sleeve and a tattoo of the jagged sun peeked out from under the gray cloth, black and clear.
Maul’s eyes narrowed as Melicent gave a soft, horrified gasp and thumped her head into the side of his neck. “I see it,” he whispered to her. This wasn’t a coincidence. This was… identification. Like… like a brand. The realization of that hit Maul so hard that he had to slam his eyes shut or else he was about to implode the building. Someone… had branded his little Melicent. Why? Even if he didn’t have the exact reason, Maul knew in his hearts that it was not a good one.
Jarla. He needed to talk to Jarla. See what the man knew. Ask around. Talk to Lithri. See about the other workers. What did they know? Why were people taking their infants and toddlers into a dangerous work environment rather than leave them with the free childcare service? How… how bad was this?
The Karmrel in question is outside his cubicle when Maul and Melicent return, caring for an anemic little planter of starflowers. He nods to the two and then backs up frantically as Maul all but barrels into him, grabbing his collar and steering him into his own cubicle like an angry uncle.
“Jaganath, wh-”
Maul turned him loose, grabbed a salt shaker and emptied onto the man’s dinner table. Then he carefully traced the jagged sun into the salt. “That. That is on her hand. And on the Duros in the childcare facility. What is that?”
Jarla’s throat bobs and his eyes start to fill with red, markings fluttering nervously. “Oh… Oh, Jaga-”
“Call me Maul, for Force sake. Now talk.”
“J… M… Wh…” Jarla’s blazing eyes were wide and frightened. His mind was a jumble, stressed and buzzing with terror… and… and grief. “Flau” kept repeating over and over…
“Jarla,” Maul pressed, though this time was noticeably gentler. One of his hands rested on the smaller man’s shoulder. “... What happened to your daughter?”
A flood of emotions toss inside the man. It’s so chaotic and visceral that even Maul has to scrunch up his face to block most of it out. Jarla’s face quivers, lips and cheeks. “Told you. She died.”
“How?”
Melicent whimpered, turning to look at Jarla. “Mmm.”
There is a long, silent moment. And then Jarla’s eyes fade entirely of red, glistening with tears. “Sh… she isn’t dead… she… she’s gone. If I… If I try to leave, they’ll… J- Maul, that’s wha’ tha’ symbol is. They targe’ new workers an’ their kids. I’ secures labor an’… an’ the parents who try to do anything about i’… they keep the kids. And the kids ge’ sold to the Hutts or ‘oever wants ‘em…”
Maul stared at him. And then yanked the two chairs around without lifting so much as a finger. “Sit. And tell me everything.”
“They’ll kill me… they’ll-”
“Jarla.”
The entire kitchen seemed to vibrate. Every can, box, utensil and light fixture trembled. Melicent curled in closer to Maul’s chest but her large eyes peered around the room… and then up at him. She could feel that it was him.
“They have messed with the wrong baby.”

20 questions for fic writers
I was tagged by @the-real-azalea-scroggs! Thank you <3
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
35! And hopefully one more before the end of the year.
2. What's your total AO3 wordcount?
201,451. Which is mad.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Zelda (Linked Universe), The Owl House, Spiderverse and as of that fic I need to upload before the end of the year, Revue Starlight.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Five Teaspoons - Also the fic that took me the least time to write out of all of them. But it's Wild-centric LOL
The Pink Heroes - Legend and Wild discuss gender while Twilight chills in the background.
Someday We'll Stand Here By The Sun - My Owl House longfic that explores Luz and Amity's relationship post S2, pre S3.
The Quiet Kitchen - The prequel to SWSHBTS.
Walking the Same Path - Wind and Wild discuss gender- yeah this is a running theme isn't it LOL
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I respond to comments because you must be crazy if you think I'm gonna pass up a chance to discuss the blorbos I write about more
6. What's a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Probably the weight of your actions, but I swear it's only angsty bc the canon of Gwen's universe in Spiderverse is angsty! Author is not responsible!
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Can I cheat and do a fic I haven't written yet? Because the ending of the Wind and Wild gender series is going to be so sweet it may cause cavities. Other than that, probably Eudemonia, cause it's just pure fankids fluff.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
No, I think half my fics are probably too niche to attract bad faith types.
9. Do you write smut?
I'm baby.
10. Do you write crossovers?
I rotated the idea of Owl House x LU in my brain for a while but never wrote it, and now that I haven't, I probably never will.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Lol yeah someone uploaded an incredibly similar fic to in how many grey hours a few hours after I did, but nothing ever came of it. It wasn't Stolen stolen so I don't really care.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I haven't hit that milestone yet :(
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
The Lumity fankids are a brainchild of myself, @heleirylis and our friend maisa even if the fics on my profile for it aren't actually co-written. Also me and leir still need to do a joint fic for one of our fandoms (it WILL happen soon)
14. What's your all time favourite ship?
Lumity or Kuromaya now I've gotten back into the latter. I could write essays about both. I have in the case of Lumity
15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Can I say all of them? LOL er jokes aside I could answer this question with my timeloop fic where Time dies in front of Twilight and Twi uses the ocarina to try to save him over and over, but I haven't even started that properly, and I still reserve the right to say I WILL finish it. It's just a way more complicated fic than anything else I've ever written and requires much more brainpower than I fear I currently have. I guess the WIP that is actually never getting finished is my Fluffbruary 2023 collection. RIP.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue and writing characters in character.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Anything other than those two things. But particularly writing descriptions.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
A couple of my fave blorbos are bilingual so I do it occasionally. But my brother is the one with a languages degree, not me, so I honestly try and avoid it.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Zelda, back when I was 11. Which makes me happy that I'm still writing for it now.
20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
It's a bit hard to choose but I really love I've Built My Life Around You. I was attempting to capture a very specific feeling and I think I did it. Plus my writing is way too good in that fic, to the point where whenever I reread it I forget I'm the one who wrote it. And I reread it a lot cause it's my niche I want to read, which is why it probably qualifies as my fave.
Tagging anyone who wants to do this!

Audience Drama Unfolds: Drake's Verbal Confrontation Over Thrown Towel
Tumblr media
The latest celebrity scoop is hotter than a jalapeno in a sauna! It turns out that people would gladly wrestle an alligator in a kiddie pool for a keepsake from their favorite stars. Just when you thought the world couldn't get any odder, Drake, the rap sensation, recently found himself in the center of a towel tug-of-war showdown. Last Saturday, August 12, the uber-talented "Jimmy Cooks" rapper seized control of the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California. The event? None other than the "It’s All a Blur Tour," featuring 21 Savage. The crowd was amped up, buzzing like a hive of caffeinated bees, as the show unfolded in all its glory. The air was thick with anticipation as Drake strutted off the stage. The fans, as if possessed by a chorus of banshees, let out a collective shriek that could probably be heard from the moon. And in a move that rivals a plot twist from a telenovela, Drake launched his sweat-soaked towel into the sea of admirers. @asiasantiago Fans fight over a towel that Drake throws into the crowd. I can’t believe I was this close to him! 🫶🏼 #drake #iaab #kiaforum #itsallablurtour #drakeconcert @kia forum ♬ original sound - Asia Santiago But as luck would have it, two fans – a brave gentleman and a determined lady – both had their eyes on the prize. They were ready to engage in a towel tussle that would've made even the Vikings proud. The towel tug-of-war escalated so fast that Drizzy, not one to shy away from the spotlight, swiveled into action mode. The Tale Of A Towel And A TikTok Moment And just like that, the scene turned into a TikTok sensation, a snippet of sheer mayhem caught on camera. The "Not You Too" rapper dashed towards the chaos, with disbelief plastered on his face. He bravely stepped into the conflict, shouting at the man like a modern-day superhero: "Are you dumb?" The crowd, realizing the gravity of the situation, unleashed a chorus of boos upon the astonished man, sending shockwaves through the stadium. Furthermore, Drake, unfazed by the situation, and with pure swag, pressed forward, completing his exit in style. However, before disappearing into the night like a mythical figure, he cast a final glance over his shoulder, ensuring that his message had been received. @simplyy_mia How to get Drake’s attention #wtf #drake #21savage #theforum #itsallablurtour #la #FYP #fypシ #POV #draketosexy ♬ original sound - mia Travis's Eagle Eyes Spotting The Digital Distractors Apart from that unforgettable Drake incident, there are a bunch of other eyebrow-raising cases where famous folks had to lay down the law with their adoring fans. Now, imagine snagging tickets to a Travis Scott concert. Sounds fun, right? But before you whip out your phone, here's some advice: keep that device tucked away if you don't want to ruffle any feathers. In 2017, the "Down in Atlanta" rapper had a bit of a moment, and I assure you, it was gold. Travis, doing his thing on stage, pouring his heart out with his famous single "Goosebumps," the crowd was vibing, the energy sky-high. But what's this? Amid this energetic atmosphere, Travis's eagle eyes spot a VIP section filled with folks who aren't exactly grooving to the rhythm. They're in their own digital world, texting away like there's no tomorrow. Now, you can probably guess what happens next. With the intensity of a thousand suns, Travis unleashes his inner voice and delivers a message that will go down in concert history. "All you n---as that’s behind the gate that’s on y’all phones, y’all n---as can take your ass home, or y’all can come back and watch the show," he yelled. Now that's a "drop the mic" moment! So, next time you're in the audience at a Travis Scott concert, remember: to phone or not to phone? That is the question. And if Travis catches you texting, you might become a part of the show in ways you never imagined. SHIP RAMBLING TIME
It’s overdue that I talk about this ship and my predictions for it’s future in canon (and yes, I think there is one!) What a better time than self indulgent week?
DISCLAIMER: This isn’t meant to step on anyone else’s headcanons or ANYTHING of the sort. This is just an analysis of the tiny hints we’ve seen from jojo so far in regards to this ship. Y’all can headcanon whatever you want!!
What we’ve seen sprinkled throughout the games themselves is interesting. In alttp itself, there’s not really much to go off of ship wise— but Legend has MANY games. And those games confirm a lot later— let’s go in my personal timeline’s order
Oox: The cheek kiss ending. This is about as BLATENT as it gets ship wise. Legend literally s w o o ns after Fable kisses him on the cheek, and the Maku tree gets jealous. An interesting thing to note is that Jojo actually depicted this scene in the page of doodles where Sun’s final design appeared (idek what it’s called in the archive list, sorry!). It’s way in the corner but it’s there!
LA: Yep, even here. There’s a good amount of evidence supporting the idea that Legend influenced Koholint A LOT and Marin’s appearance is nothing to sneeze at. Especially her similarities with Fable— It’s most likely that Legend literally dreamed up his ideal girl— hence why Marin being similar to Fable is incredibly suspicious.
ALBW: OHHOHO BOY. The Rumor guy!!! He’s creepy, but he gives a lot of insight on Legend and Fable’s relationship here. Fable is supposedly caught sneaking off to meet someone at night— as well as stopping to just… stare at a painting of one of the previous incarnations cuddling “with such admiration that had never been seen before in the princess.” For 10 minutes straight!!! That’s a while to stare at one painting Fable, jeez!
LU: So, in an interview with Jojo, she previously stated that most of the Links are going to have varying romantic relationships with their Zeldas— she gave a list of exceptions for that: Twi and Time. The little shipper in my happen to notice that Legend is very purposefully left out, meaning he probably will end up getting closer with Fable as the comics go on.
So, what are my predictions?
Jojo is gonna need a lot of time and care put into her character to get her right. You can’t just throw in a second love Interest after a main character has already lost one and expect the fandom to be okay with it. Legend needs *time* to get over what happened with Marin first— and even more time to get closer with Fable. What I find interesting is that Jojo specifies that despite going on so many adventures, Legend is particularly affected by the amount of times the kingdom is put in peril. But you wanna know who would be…? *Fable*. This is probably going to be her ongoing issue throughout the whole comic imo. We could either see a more stern Fable who shares a lot of similarities with Legend in that she’s bad at taking care of her emotional problems, giving them a chance to bond. OR we could see a Fable that’s more like canon—- bubbly and sweet, someone who can make Legend forget about his problems
Either way, Legend will definitely have to learn to deal with the fact that Fable and Marin are kind of similar sometimes— and learn to overlook that and love Fable as her own person. This is KEY, he will need to eventually stop drawing negative comparisons between the two in his head in order for this relationship to work. He can still be reminded of Marin by her, but in a way that he accepts it is fine and okay to see that— He still loved Marin and still loves Fable, and no romance is lesser than the other. And he’s not disrespecting Marin’s memory by loving someone else either. He’s just moving on from his past, and that’s the healthy thing to do.

ohohohoh poly sky!Friday?! Sign me tf UP. Can you elaborate on the polycule? ever since wild and moreso since zelda, im a bit confused about thhe relations among the group. how loves whom, to what extent, how serious is the relatinship etc
poly!Sky Friday?? Can that be a thing!!?
Behold, anon, a hastily-made infographic. More details under the cut.
Tumblr media
So I didn't bother labeling the original trio, there's 75k and counting that covers their... situation.
Sky and Sun - Skychild Soulmates
Childhood sweethearts turned star-crossed lovers, these two are the OG love story. I'm not a huge Zelink shipper, but there's no way you can't ship these two imo. Sun has known about Sky's polyam proclivity much longer than he realized it about himself, and she loves him very much for it. Good gods they are so cute together.
Sun and Warriors - Bedroom Besties
Wars didn't expect to fall for Sun as hard and fast as he did, but their personalities instantly clicked. It was one of those situations where you meet someone and it's suddenly, "Oh! I've known you all my life." When these two get together, it's just nonstop chatter. Wars derives intense pleasure from making Sun smile... among other things.
Warriors and Twilight - The Real Disasters
Even if Sky didn't understand his confusing feelings at first, at least he was able to admit to them and learn about them. These two... not so much. They dance around their complicated emotions in an effort to keep things light and not stress out about it, but there's definitely a deeper, more passionate undercurrent in their relationship that exists outside of the polycule. They'll figure it out eventually.
Twilight and Wild - More Than Just "Friends"
Wild and Twilight had a past before the events of the poly!Sky series, even before the group of nine was formed. Twilight has seen Wild at his absolute worst - mentally and physically - and he's been a steadfast friend and confidante through it all. Talk about unconditional love. Because of this, Wild is fiercely defensive of Twilight, which is why he got involved with the other two in the first place. There was a scene I threw out from Any Little House when Twilight returned from the hot springs visibly upset, to which Wild immediately responds, "What happened? I'll kill [Sky and Warriors]." Although they have sexual chemistry and a deep bond, there's no romantic connection there.
Wild and Sky - "I'm With Stupid"
As I mentioned, Wild really only got involved with Sky to make sure there were no glaring red flags or reasons why Sky might not be good for Twilight. During the events of Better Than One, he realized just how naive Sky is in this entire situation, and what a big heart Sky has. Wild is still pretty bewildered at how clueless Sky is, though. They're friends who are willing to share sexual experiences, and at least Sky has somebody he can talk with when things in the relationship get rocky.
Wild and Warriors - "Here for a good time, not a long time."
These two understand one another on a deeper level than they had expected to. Wars has seen how fragile and fleeting life can be, and how cruel the hand of fate. Wild literally died once. So the two of them are more likely to throw caution to the wind and indulge in one-night stands just to feel alive sometimes. When Wild decided to insert himself into the situation between Warriors and Twilight, he expected that Wars was just treating this like a travel fling and Twi was getting in over his head. The outcome will definitely come up in a future WIP now that I've thought about it.
Sun and Twilight - Patiently Waiting versus Shyly Interested
Twilight doesn't have a ton of positive experiences with women. He can tell that Sun is very kind and sweet, and she hasn't been shy in expressing her interest in him, but it's apparent that Twilight needs to take things slow. Some of his hesitance comes from a fear of hurting her, and some from a fear of being hurt by her. But Sun will give him space and shower him with affirmations until he's ready to come around.
