Well I'll try again. I will probably miss something
This idea has been bouncing around my head for a few months and here seems like as good a place as any to put it. (Sorry) So Vaggie is a winner in heaven and joins the exorcists probably called something like the powers because that's the name of the warrior angels in the bible apparently. While training she meets Emily and they hit it off they start dating and Emily brings Vaggie home and mets Sera who is protective of Emily and suspicious of Vaggie at first but is eventually won over and accepts Vaggie as part of her family which to Vaggie who in life never had a proper family means the world to her. Also for this fic Adam is lying to Sera her understanding of what happens is that once a year adam leads the powers down to help Lucifer take down the overlords it takes away a challenge to his rule of hell and makes sure that hell doesn't get strong enough to rebel while getting rid of the sinners who often make life worse in hell or at least that is what she and the rest of heaven think is happening including Vaggie who is a new recruit. The first extermination happens Vaggie goes down is shocked overwhelmed and things happen like they do in canon. Adam tells Sera that they lost and Angel this time and when Sera learns it's Vaggie breaks down in tears they tell her it was a freak accident. Sera tells Emily who is like Sera is devasted they are angels the people around them aren't supposed to die so they don't now how to handle it. Meanwhile in hell things go along as normal it takes longer for Vaggie to start dating Charlie because she feels guilty about Emily but eventually concludes there is no way for her to get to heaven so decides she should move on after all Emily probably has. Things go like normal till episode 5 when Lucifer agrees to go over adam and contact heaven ie Sera. Sera had the ability to talk to Lucifer but they hadn't talked in years but she agrees to hear Charlie out and now Vaggie is panicking because she is going back to heaven. Meanwhile in heaven Sera is talking to Emily who is still depressed and even seems hostile of going to meet their guests from hell the place that killed her girlfriend. Sera convinces her that her hostility and cynicism isn't her and Vaggie wouldn't want her to be so hostile to the people of hell. Emily agrees and they go to meet them and are shocked and overjoyed to find Vaggie there. There is a moment like Vaggie's react to emily taking Charlie's hand only Vaggie and Charlie are swapped. Vaggie asks Sera to teleport them somewhere private which she does and tells everyone everything including that she has feelings for both Emily and Charlie. Sera the adult in the room has them put that aside for later while they deal with how to end the exterminations. I don't have a end but I am thinking it ends with a poly Charlie Emily and Vaggie.
The angst! The drama! The sapphic yearning and panicking! I love these what-if scenarios because I could honestly see Vaggie falling for someone like Emily, if she were given the chance to know her outside the Exterminators in Heaven. Emily seems pretty closed off with Sera, and seems pretty naive of the goings-on in her own realm. She's practically a carbon copy of Charlie in terms of her personality, morals, and values.
I'm certain she and Vaggie would be on the same page about protecting Heaven but minimizing damage just to the overlords who are causing problems. If Vaggie actually knew Emily and spent less time around Adam and Lute, I wonder if she wouldn't have been as drawn into the Exterminations as they're characterized in the show. Obviously she has qualms about it, because she protected that child, but with Adam yelling in her face for years that Sinners aren't worth saving, a part of her probably started believing it. If she and Emily were dating, he wouldn't have been able to influence her that way.
Then, when she's forced to fall for protecting a Sinner's life, and basically finds her previous girlfriend's twin is living there, and oh! She's also the princess of Hell, well that's like the ultimate mindfuck for Vaggie. She fell out of the frying pan, and into the fire. This person reminds her so much of the one she left behind, her brain has to be spinning off in a million different directions. And over time, when it's solidified in her mind that she can never go back, of course she falls in love all over again. She probably wants to claim any happiness she can get, right?
Then fuck! Charlie gets called to Heaven and her girlfriends meet, and fuck again! She has to choose between them! How can she possibly make this choice???
Unless...? 👀 She doesn't have to...? 👀
But to be a true sapphic love triangle there might have to be dramatic breakups, lots of angst, and crying in the shower to stretch out the plot. Charlie and Emily would have to catching feeling and it might take 20 chapters before anyone even says the "L" word. Sounds perfect!!
(I am always so torn regarding ships with Emily. There are a lot of cute ones. I just love Em so much and want her to be safe, at the end of the day, and she'd absolutely be safe with Chaggie)

Lucifer and a deal meant to save people from extermination that accidentally leads to hellborn half-angels being yanked up to Heaven because then they're 'safe' from extermination.
Sera who expected baby Charlie, Lucifer and Lilith's baby, but still chastised Adam for stealing her up there because god this is going to end in warfare.
She did not expect the other two little girls that came up. ASking their names, asking who their angelic parent is. That what is your Daddy's name? Well no Daddy, okay what is Mommy's name?
Mommy? Of course. What does [X] call her?
The slow questioning and oh okay what do other people say? Charlie says Auntie 'Milla so Mommy's name must be Milla!
Sera nearly fainting, nauseous and terrified and suddenly realizing this backwards deal that the others managed is going to lead to a bigger war than even she expected.
(And the outright unwarranted feelings of betrayal looking in the eyes of the children of the woman she loved and feeling like she's failed her all over again.)
Oh damn, that's a twist! Heaven really is diabolical if they have a hidden clause that any innocent half-angel children have to be abducted from their parents. Even though Charlie and Carmilla's girls would be technically safe, I don't know how their parents would respond to that. Lucifer may initially think Charlie is better off and try to justify it, but Lilith and Carmilla are at his throat, trying to get him to undo the deal so they can get their girls back. The vengeance of mothers knows no equal.
Meanwhile, Sera is just taking charge of a bunch of children, and Emily is helping keep them calm while they figure out what to do. Adam and his goons really fucked up this negotiation big time, and it's just going to cause more trouble for them. Sera doesn't know how she's going to look Carmilla in the eye after this.

To all the people in my inbox, yes, I watch Hazbin Hotel, and yes, we can talk about Alastor, Valentino, Vox, Husk, and Lucifer.
But first, I’d be lying if I said Adam isn’t living in my head rent-free with his entitled, loud-mouthed ass and his sheer disregard for absolutely everyone around him.
Not to mention his ownersickness.
He’s genesis – the onset of all humanity – and believes everyone is beholden to him because of that – that everyone should fall to his feet and kiss his balls and thank him for their origins.
He treats new angels like a free-for-all eat-all-you-can buffet – like a harem of only the purest sinless samples. Because who wouldn’t feel a little bashful being comforted by the first man after an untimely death – welcomed to heaven and congratulated on a life lived in virtue?
Your cheeks heat up as he flirts with little ol’ you as if you’re not just one of the many million people he plans on corrupting.
And he’s such a big deal in heaven, too. Those big balls have a lot of sway, and he swings them and his dick around at every turn.
So just imagine if you try to deny him. I mean, he’s Adam. Everyone has him to thank for their lives, and it’s in death that you should all pay your dues.
So, if he says he wants you, you don’t have the right to tell him no.
And the unfairness makes you feel so helpless – nihilistic despite being in heaven. thinking back to the many times on earth when you’d question the existence of god only to persevere. Kept to your morals through it all, remained vigilant in your belief – only to now question if your God really deserved it when he allows injustice even here, in the fucking promised land.
And having been left by both Eve and Lilith, Adam's become a woman-hating misogynist with incel rage that has stewed since The Creation – and so keeps you locked in his suite like a pet.
He throws his mask off when he comes home, disrobes, and walks about as he’d done in Eden – and says it’s just as much a sin to oppose the first man as it is to oppose God himself when he demands that you strip and get on the bed.
He’s never gracious, even when you obey – he takes you how he wants – with your ass up and your face down and his hand pressing down on your back between your wings – licking his lip when you wince and whimper, taking every inch of his fat cock in your tight cunt while your pearl-white feathers ruffle and shiver like a baby-bird who’d fallen from the nest.
Sometimes, he’ll threaten to banish you down to hell if you don’t worship him like the good little Christian you aspire to be. After all, heathen whores who don’t stick to their prayers don’t have a place in heaven.

God: ok lets fix this, all children born from angels are allowed to pass freely thru heavens gates whenever they wish
God: carmilla is pardoned from her falling and is to finally marry sera
God: also I will be reassrssing all souls and angels cause wtf i leave for 10000 years to rest after making the universe and you guys screwed it up!
Maybe he'll learn today that he can't leave Heaven unattended for 10,000 years without people absolutely losing their fucking minds. Maybe if God were a woman, she would have known better than to leave her creations to their own devices for so long, holy or not. Especially with someone like Adam literally leading Heaven's army of holy warriors. Which cis male chadbro's bright idea was that, anyway???
Just promote Sera to godhood at this point. Christ on a bike. She could fix everything in a week, tops.

So I assume Carmilla in a swapped au would be like the high Seraphim of heaven with her two daughters. I can imagine that Emily went to them while trying to find Sera in heaven and they had to break the news that to her that she was in hell. They probably found out Emily is missing one day and have been trying to find her in hell but are having no luck. Also if Sera and Emily were humans before than they must have had parents and with how close Emily is to Sera I am guessing they were absent at best and abusive at worse which for the au I'll go with. Sera mostly shielded Emily from abuse but when Sera was young she got abused by them. (For drama and to add to why Sera is in hell maybe when Emily was a kid and Sera like early 20s Sera had enough and killed them took over their business as arms dealers) but now that everyone is dead they are also in hell and overlords that Sera has to compete and work with she still keeps them away from Emily.
I'm down with the arms dealer theory either way, for Carmilla or Sera. I think if Sera was still unable to get into Heaven despite protecting Emily, she must have done something worse in life that a self-sacrifice doesn't just erase from her record. If she couldn't take the abuse, snapped one day, and took out her and Emily's parents, that's a pretty big sin, even if they were horrible people. But it's kind of par for the course in the Hellaverse that no good deed goes unpunished.
If Carmilla, Clara, and Odette are the high Seraphim, I'd love to see how that would play out with Charlie and Vaggie's visit. If they'd make any more progress with Carmilla at the helm. I feel like Carmilla would take less of Adam's crap than Sera would, at the very least.

After Adam had tried to push the girls off of a balcony and he promptly had got thrown into the fountain of heavens dinning hall. Adam storms back into the dinning hall all pissy about it and he’s yelling and cursing up a storm towards the girls and how he’ll kill them during the extermination. This then gets the attention of sera and Carmilla who are pissed at Adam. He had tried to push and endanger the girls just to prove false claims so both of them go off on Adam but more specifically Carmilla.
Sera: “I’ve had enough of telling you to stop!—“
Carmilla(who is very pissed off): “¡eres una desgracia! ¿Tratando de dañar a mis hijos con acusaciones falsas? ¿Qué tan infantil eres? Te hemos dicho varias veces que pares, pero no escuchas porque tu ego necesita ser acariciado constantemente porque sabes que no vales nada y ¡esa es la razón por la que Lilith y Eva te dejaron!—“
Adam looks around for support yet no one is supporting him in his endeavor to bring down the girls reputation in heaven.
(Translation what Carmilla said: you are a disgrace! trying to harm my children over false accusations? how childish are you? we have told you multiple times to stop yet you don't listen because your ego needs to constantly be stroked because you know you amount to nothing and thats the reason lilith and eve left you!)
I love the thought of Carmilla going all mama bear on Adam. He probably thinks her girls are small fries and easier to torment. He's gonna learn today! I imagine Sera would back off and let Carmilla handle him, short of killing him. Maybe some of her demon shows through when she gets that worked up, protecting her girls. Also, her changing over to Spanish when she's furious 👌👌
For Adam's sake, I hope if they bring him back in the show, he can be redeemed. As the Act 1 villain, I think he'd be a prime candidate for that, even though he's one of those antagonists you love to hate. Carmilla and the girls can create a boot camp for Charlie to use for those souls who are really tough nuts to crack, LOL.

I can see it as you said a toxic quid pro quo thing but in my head I could also see the relationship as something that happened accidentally that wasn't part of the plan. Like the only reason I can see Sera smuggling Angelic weapons to hell is she is hoping they'll kill adam maybe the exterminators in this AU were made before her approval and he has a private army to so while she is technically in charge she can't really go against adam or he will overthrow her or have Emily killed. So she made a deal to smuggle weapons to hell and Carmilla in a hope that it will weaken them. She can't trust a subordinate to do it since this definitely treason or whatever and Adam could easily make her fall or kill her for this so she does it all herself and makes Carmilla to agree to only handle it herself since she doesn't want anyone finding things out. They've been doing it for a while get to no each other during there meetings Carmilla learns how to make the Angel blush and starts flirting with Sera than one day after they finish Carmilla invites sera to stay and talk and next thing Sera knows she in bed with Carmilla.
Even if Sera and Carmilla's relationship didn't evolve until later due to a reluctant partnership, I desperately want Sera to be trying to sabotage Adam from the inside. Actually, that's going to be a requirement in my headcanon moving forward. Girl is sick of his BS. I will gladly buy a ticket for that train of thought.

So this is an idea I have had for a while at this point which has to do with Sera falling without Emily. Normally in my head she ends up as Charlie's governess or something like that and works with her. But thinking about it I can also see her ending up with Carmilla who takes the angel in gives her a job and eventually marries her and Sera becomes another mother to Odette and Clara. Either way the big issue for Sera is Emily she misses her and doesn't know how she's doing while Emily never got told why Sera left for work one day and never came back she probably gets some abandonment issues from this. While in my original one there story ends with Sera joining sir pentious and reuniting with Emily in this one I can see Emily getting into a fight with Adam with over the exterminations and falling she gets hurt traumatized and is hiding behind a dumpster or something when just her luck Sera walks past and see's her and takes her home they reunite and get to live together as a family.
Interesting idea, anon. Maybe Sera begins questioning Heaven early on and whether Lucifer was right in the first place, and Heaven just replaces her with a really young Emily, figuring they can get ahead of the game and mold her into who they want her to be. But the plan backfires because Emily has a strong moral sense of justice. Maybe Sera made her that way, foreseeing that Heaven would try to retaliate against her at some point.
I can definitely see Emily and Adam coming to blows. Emily can't understand how Adam is allowed to be in Heaven, and still doesn't understand what happened to her sister. Maybe at some point she breaks and demands Heaven do something about Adam, and tell her what happened to Sera. At that point, Heaven realizes they goofed, and they cause her to fall, as well. Sera and Emily reunite in Hell, where at this point Sera and Carmilla have already reconnected and gotten married. They reunite as a family.
But unfortunately, with the Seraphim gone, Adam gets promoted in the ranks, and starts moving up the Exterminations out of spite. Little does he know there are now more angels on the side of the Sinners than he anticipated; ones who know all his weaknesses.

I assume sometime after Sera falls she and Carmilla eventually meet up with Lucifer it's probably awkward at first because I Sera was probably very much on Heaven's side when he rebelled but he eventually askes how she fell and she starts explaining and complaining about adam and Lucifer is immediately her friend now they bond by insulting adam for a while and probably catch each other up on what happened with all the information and gossip out the angels in heaven and the ones that fell.
Listen, if there’s anyone who can relate to Sera’s struggle, it’s Luci! If they can get beyond the initial awkwardness and resolve to have no hard feelings, they would be so good for each other! They can trauma dump about Adam. Gossip about how awful the bureaucracy of Heaven is. Brag about how proud they are of Charlie and Emily. Sera can make peace with any of the other angels who fell with Luci, if they’re still around. Big family reunion! It would be great!

The first time sera and Emily see one of the girls demon forms is when Odette smacks Adam into a wall with no effort. Carmilla, sera and Emily had came rushing in to see what the commotion was about since they heard some yelling, only to find Adam in a Crater in the wall and a very pissed off Odette in demon form about to maul Adam to shreds. Emily and sees stand there shocked while Carmilla runs over to calm her daughter down.
I feel as if the girls demon forms make their wings pop out which is probably painful for them but they don’t notice. And I feel as if the girls have different horn types, while Clara has straight/curved horns, Odette probably has ram like horns that curl into themselves which means she has to saw them down so they don’t poke her in the eye and blind her. Another thing I feel the girls get in their demon form are white feathers that sprout on their cheeks almost like side burns. So with all those factors plus the height increase and the many eyes covering their body? It definitely causes people to shit their pants from fear.
I don't blame Odette. Adam's shenanigans would make me go demon-mode, too! Someone who is an artist should draw the girls as angelic demons. 👏👏 Let us live the vision!
It makes sense for their demon forms to be different. They each probably take different aspects of Carmilla and their birth father. I'm dying to know what he looks like, and what the girls look like when they transform! Also, yes to the horns and feathers! Maybe they're a mix of black, gray, and white, like some of those snow birds with the gray and black spots. Hmmm, maybe.

They are not inviting Adam to the wedding. He doesn't even know about it until he tries to talk to Sera and find out she's on her honeymoon
Adam: "Where the fuck is Sera and that smaller chick? Does she expect me to fix all of these Winners' fucking problems? That's not my fucking job, man!"
Lute: "Sir, Sera left on her honeymoon 2 days ago."
Adam: "The fuck?! She got married?! When did that happen?!"
Lute: "Three days ago, Sir."
Adam: "The Hell?! Why the fuck didn't she tell me?!"
Lute: "If you'll pardon me, sir, she told me before she left, and I quote, 'I don't want that overbearing, pompous, egomaniac edgelord anywhere near my family on our special day.'"
Adam: "Lute, you fucking traitor! Why didn't you tell me that before?!"
Lute: "I'm just the messenger, sir. Don't shoot me."

So adam probably has to go to Sera to get more spears after each extermination and well after a while she askes what on earth they are doing that the angelic steel weapons made out of the strongest material in the universe are breaking so often. He tells her that they just leave them behind and is about to tell him what an idiot he is when she realizes that maybe someone will kill him and spare her from having to spend time around him. So she gives him a lecture about not wasting stuff and let's him go.
Even if Sera isn't yet privy to what Carmilla is doing with the angelic weapons, I think she subconsciously knows Carmilla would find a way to use them against Adam. His hubris is exhausting, and she's sick of dealing with it. Since there isn't any way for her to get rid of him directly, she's very strategic by telling him not to be wasteful. Like any literal child, he will do the opposite of what he's told out of spite, and she knows that. By using reverse psychology against him, she's unknowingly secured his own demise, even if she doesn't find that out until later.

I am imagining Carmilla sitting beside to a hurt Sera checking on her making sure she recovering and talking about the past probably slowly building up the confidence to ask if she wants to get back together. Also telling Sera all about hell what to do to say safe I assume it's don't go anywhere that Carmilla doesn't control without her. I also assume since Sera doesn't want to stay put when Carmilla isn't around Carmilla tells Emily who is also recovering to do what Sera does if she gets out of bed and starts trying to fly than Emily can and should. Sera knows that Emily needs to rest to get better so she stays put once Emily gets better it gets harder to make sure Sera rests. Carmilla probably has to give Sera something to do too keep her busy.
I reckon there would be a lengthy recovery period before Sera and Emily would even feel comfortable exploring Hell or venturing outside. It probably takes Carmilla a while to come to terms with the fact that her former-lover-turned-adversary is back in her life. Getting her and Emily back on their feet is her priority. She prepares them mentally for what to expect, informs them of the current political climate and conflicts going on in Hell, and teaches them where is and is not safe to be.
As time goes on Sera and Emily get restless. There are only so many books they can read, so many abhorrent TV programs they can watch, before they start to get antsy. Emily is super interested in what Carmilla does for a living, so she shows them both Carmine Industries. Sera can't believe how careless Adam was with angelic steel that Carmilla was able to create an entire enterprise around collecting and refabricating angelic weapons. She's also incredibly impressed at Carmilla's ingenuity. That's one of the things she's always loved about her.
After a while, Sera becomes really popular with Carmilla's people. Her presence is very comforting, and they enjoy visiting and talking with her. Whenever she goes along with Carmilla to the corporate office or one of the warehouses, a gaggle of them will surround her and just talk her ear off. She becomes kind of a mentor of sorts, and Carmilla's people love her. Sera was always a very charismatic and strong presence in Heaven, as well, and inspired a lot of people -- Carmilla falls in love with that part of her all over again.
Emily ends up spending a lot more time with Odette and Clara on their days off. When they're working with Carmilla, Emily volunteers at the hotel with Charlie and Vaggie. She just really enjoys helping people, and it comes naturally to her. As the previous joy-bringer in Heaven, she has a way with the SInners at the hotel, and provides the same comforting presence for them that Sera does for Carmilla's people. Since Lilith is gone, Hell is missing the one who used to sing to them and improve their morale. Emily unofficially takes up a similar role at the hotel, inspiring Sinners and encouraging them that they can become better people like Sir Pentious.

So Carmila must hate Adam more than most people besides say Vaggie. As one of the first angels she would have been there for his creation. Would have known he was supposed to be the perfect creation made in God's image even more perfect than the Angels themselves.
She would have seen how far he fell despite being touted as some amazing Paragon of virtue.
And she would have gone from seeing him created perfect to watching him gleefully hunt down people to murder them in full disobedience of the very first commandment.
He can flock the first commandment every given time he wants, and nothing happens to him, but she advocated for humans to have free will and she's damned for eternity.
I go back and forth on whether I think Carmilla fell with Lucifer or followed sometime after. I definitely think she would have been around when Adam was created, and if she was one of the original third that were cast out with Luci, saw the massive decline in Adam's character, the way he treated Lilith, the way he got away with so much more than other Winners, etc.
It sucks, because I can see him devolving as a direct result of Lucifer's actions, even though Luci's intentions were good. Luci stole his first wife, tempted his second wife, introduced free will into the world, which led to the potential downfall of all Adam's future children. He just gets a pass because he's the OG human, which really just shows the absolute lack of justice there is in Heaven. They aren't willing to accept that their original creation wasn't absolutely perfect.
Carmilla had to watch this guy live a (probably awful) mortal life, ascend to Heaven anyway, and then when Hell starts getting too full for Heaven's liking, basically start annihilating his own descendants, because he can't get over the way fallen angels like Luci and Carmilla wronged him, in his eyes.
Then he starts coming after her children every year, and that's when the mama bear comes out of her den. Now it's really personal.

I kind of love the idea of hellborn Odette and Clara for the suffering parallel.
Eve who listened to Lucifer and Lilith and bit the apple and was cursed with many things including painting childbirth.
Carmilla who followed and fell with Lucifer knowing pain for the first time ever because there is no pain in heaven and having to suffer that way.
Eves first two boys on earth, the first babies of hell being girls etc.
Lucifer forever hating himself for inducing that suffering on people he cares deeply for
Y'all are making me a crying mess in my askbox tonight with these sad theories. 😭😭
Honestly, the theme of suffering is such a prolific and profound one in the Hellaverse. You've got the Hellborn, who are randomly born into it without ever having actually committed an act that would normally send Sinners there -- it's just random bad luck. And the Sinners and angels that made it down there for seemingly random shit. Could be theft, could be murder, we don't really know, not even the Seraphim know. And they're not all horrible people, a lot of them are literally just people with good intentions who probably made bad choices.
But isn't it amazing that despite knowing and experiencing true suffering, people like Carmilla and Lucifer are trying to make the best of a bad situation. Carmilla gives her people the means to defend themselves, and defends her daughters tooth and nail. And I know Luci gets a bad rep for being bogged down in his depression, but I can't even begin to imagine the guilt he feels on the daily for, in his mind, dooming humanity with his choice.
In a sense, Hell is a place to be free and experience existence to the fullest, while the people in Heaven have to always watch their step, follow the rules, or be thrown down there with them. It's a weird dichotomy. Not as black and white as Adam would have us believe!

Adam and lute were messing with the girls while they were at some fancy party sera had invited them and their mother to. Clara is seething while Odette is also trying to keep her composure, and Emily is trying to calm the two down(it’s not working.) so Clara asks Odette and Emily to cover for her to which Odette happily agrees while Emily is probably more hesitant in agreeing. Then Clara storms off towards Adam and lute’s direction, and a short while later they hear a loud pained yell from Adam who comes hobbling about clutching his crotch and is cursing up a storm and threatening to kill Clara durning the extermination.
I needed to get this out my system, this thought was too funny to me.
Here's my obligatory, "Violence is wrong, violence is not okay, violence is never the answer, got that kids?!"
(With that out of the way...the dude was just asking for it. He got off easy, all things considered; Carmilla would have done way worse!)
