I'm so sorry for the Catch the Ghost gif spams, but I suddenly miss the drama after catching up with a twitter thread last week. I know it's not a perfect drama and not all dramas are perfect and the characters are so flawed but they're humans and I love them so much. I also love the humour as I'm fan of slapstick comedy and the romance was so heartwarming, I loved it. There are underdeveloped characters and I didn't invest much on them, the suspense became a little draggy before its ending but I was fully there for the subway police cops and Yoo Ryeong and Ji Seok, so I'm all goooood!
I also understand people's concerns with Ryeong but everyone gotta remember, that she's more than the freakshow that those who hate her to the core think of her (lol, i'm looking at those extreme vicious viewer of ctg) — that in every case she took, her heart was always there with the victims. There were times she was not right, how Ji Seok wasn't always right, but I didn't hate them and I just understood both of them. Wish the writers didn't put more angst in the middle prior their best scene, but it's all good and the resolution was good. Wish the writers gave more time to explore her relationship with Ji Seok and making her his confidant early on (like her knowing he sold his house and her helping him out like how she helps the victims, anyway, writers probably didn't do that to give way to the thriller plot), but everything wrapped up very well and they understand each other well so I'm just gonna indulge myself in the lovely canons here that touched on those plots.

I think one reason Catch the Ghost is so great is because it’s serving us that Classic Kdrama Energy we all fell in love with in this dumb, melodramatic genre
But with none of the sexism and NOW IN HD

So many people say that Hometown Cha Cha Cha is cliché and it is cliché, but it is so much more than that.
I will sit down and say, that i have never seen a kdrama male lead apologize the way Dushik does. The necklace sequence? The way Hyejin because of her past insecurities sells her necklace, because she doesnt want to ruin what they have and Dushik saying that she got it all wrong and he doesnt have enough money to get her a necklace so he made her a jewelery box, is far away from clichè. They accept eachother for who they are, and even in the moments where they start fumbling one of them always gains balance and reaches out to the other. I always wanted that kind of love.
Kdramas have leads who wait for eachother a thousand years and transcend lifetimes.
But Hyejin and Dushik, love eachother through the cracks the world gave them. Because the world was so harsh, they found solace in one another.
Things that have tormented them for years dont fade away as soon as they fall in love, Hyejin is still insecure and Dushik is still fighting his trauma. But together? They hold out well.
Even if they didnt meet lifetimes ago, they are here now. Thats beautiful.

After the traumatic experience with the second lead syndrome in 'Start Up', I need an overdose of Kim Seon Ho being happy now...
'Cath the Ghost' and 'You Drive Me Crazy' are full of amazing and joyful moments and they are making me laugh like an idiot 😂. And as it's not enough, 2D1N just gives more chances to see that guy laughing and being adorable.
I'm totally whipped. Send help!

i finally watched episode 16 and it honestly exceeded my expectations??? considering they were very low to begin with so here are some of the things i really appreciated about it:
seo in jae finally reuniting with halmeoni and coming back home! opening that music box! believing in her sister's success, and willingly losing the bet!
the sisters having the same goal! their father's goal 🥺🥺 they both made it come true
that scene with halmeoni seeing her family in their younger days all happy and together
yeong sil-ah!!! yeong sil showed up in the flesh!! the way ji pyeong's eyes lit up at that voice - that voice that he woke up to, that voice that had been his only friend all this time i really enjoyed that cameo
the fact that yeong sil('s voice) came up with a business to help orphan children too like that entire scene was so meaningful to ji pyeong's arc i'm glad they decided to include it
ji pyeong's banter with his assistant after the meeting too! that little 'good job' 'wait did you just compliment me?' '... no' plus those smiles!!!! ji pyeong looked so Happi i cry 🥺🥺
do san giving that rgb knitted cactus plant to halmeoni, saying it's inspired by dal mi followed by dal mi holding it right next to her face. an exact replica
'it talks when you poke it!' *halmeoni pokes the plant* *do san voice* 'i love you!!' SCREEEEAM 😭
samsan boys crying and confessing their love to each other at their og office
new enthusiastic boys about to rent the rooftop office dressed in rgb
young san (in the last episode) and do san both asking for ji pyeong's honest opinion as an investor and him being genuinely proud of their efforts
do san and ji pyeong making up!! finally!! best bros!!!! they even HUGGED!!! i didn't expect the hug my heart is so full 😭😭😭
ji pyeong and halmeoni. that entire dialogue. that entire sequence. just stomp all over my heart why don't you. i'm so glad he stayed unlike what the teaser made me believe
a scene with ji pyeong and in jae actually conversing like we got that lads literally the visual power they hold???
the ending sequence with all the pictures (zero dialogue but still told the entire story and made me cry) and our four leads looking suave af and all smiley in those suits, perfectly matching the overhead shadows we've been seeing in every intro. they finally made it. we all made it.
i am Very satisfied with this ending 🤍

Catch The Ghost.
Tumblr media

It's funny Seon Ho is my favourite actor. Joo Hyuk isn't. Infact I wasn't even sure he was going to be good. I didn't think he was bad but I didn't think he was good either. This drama changed my mind. I honestly just like the character. I said I could even relate. If someone else who portrayed the character just as well as he did who I never ever saw on screen before it would be the same. It's that so hard to believe that there are people like that?
