Are we really supposed to believe that Joo-Eun would gain 26 kilos in a single month of Young-ho being gone? First of all, gaining that much of weight wouldn't happen even if she wouldn't have a thyroid at all. You would need more than 2000 kcal surplus intake for that kind of weight gain, meaning she would have to eat around 4000 kcal depending on her basal metabolism. Sure, let's say that science works differently in this universe, do you think Joo-Eun who used her blood results and health as a reason to be accepted into the family would let go of that? The same woman who spent a year away from her boyfriend and sent him updates on her workouts? Bullshit. The weight gain was not only unnecessary but also insulting to the character and its growth.
