Tumblweeds
I can’t believe I have to say this again, but here we go…
There are a million ways to do D/s. I’d venture to say that no two pairings/groupings do it exactly the same.
I realize that by putting some of my personal stories out here in the Tumblrverse I am opening myself up to judgement, but for the love of everything kinky, could ya just stop with your unsolicited correcting of others’ D/s?
You don’t like the way another (exceedingly happy) couple is doing D/s? Move on. Can’t learn a thing from their style? Scroll on by. Your D/s is absolutely the perfect, only way and it’s your life mission to make sure others do it your way? Maybe Tumblr isn’t right for you.
So, all this to say, please stop with the barrage of messages and comments assessing my submission, my husband’s dominance, our level of romance, our decision to keep D/s from our children (that one comment is pretty gross), my attire, our punishments, and the wording I prefer to use within our D/s. I’m sure I’m forgetting a few things that others have taken upon themselves to “correct” lately. There’s suddenly a lot.
I write because waaaay back when we started D/s it felt pretty lonely. It seemed like no one else lived this way within a healthy romantic relationship. I would have given anything to feel less alone and to have any resources available at all. So, I write. I don’t sugar coat the mishaps, missteps, hard emotions, or challenges.
Perhaps you, grumpy assessors of others (Tumblweeds? I feel like we should call them Tumblweeds), have a D/s that resides in a perfect vacuum with no real life ever ever getting in the way. No complex, conflicting emotions to work through. No worrying if your partner’s needs are really being met. Not ever once coming up short. Congratulations on your absolutely black and white dynamic.
I’m just over here writing about the multitude of gray areas we encounter because we’re human. I truly feel my honestly has helped a few new friends here. I will continue to write for them. Love you guys.
