The Lion King is a 1994 American animated musical drama film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The 32nd Disney animated feature film and the fifth produced during the Disney Renaissance, it is inspired by William Shakespeare's Hamlet with elements from the Biblical stories of Joseph and Moses and Disney's 1942 film Bambi. The film was directed by Roger Allers and Rob Minkoff (in their feature directorial debuts) and produced by Don Hahn, from a screenplay written by Irene Mecchi, Jonathan Roberts, and Linda Woolverton. The film features an ensemble voice cast that includes Matthew Broderick, James Earl Jones, Jeremy Irons, Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Nathan Lane, Ernie Sabella, Rowan Atkinson, and Robert Guillaume. Its original songs were written by composer Elton John and lyricist Tim Rice, with a score by Hans Zimmer.
The film has led to many derived works, such as a Broadway adaptation in 1997; two direct-to-video follow-ups—the sequel, The Lion King II: Simba's Pride (1998), and the prequel/parallel, The Lion King 1½ (2004); two television series, Timon and Pumbaa and The Lion Guard; and a photorealistic remake in 2019, which also became the highest-grossing animated film at the time of its release. In 2016, the film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".  The Lion King is the first Disney film to have been dubbed in Zulu, the only African language aside from Arabic to have been used for a feature-length Disney dub.
The Lion King is a 2019 American musical drama film directed and co-produced by Jon Favreau, written by Jeff Nathanson, and produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Fairview Entertainment. It is a photorealistic computer-animated remake of Disney's traditionally animated 1994 film of the same name. The film stars the voices of Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Alfre Woodard, Billy Eichner, John Kani, John Oliver, Florence Kasumba, Eric André, Keegan-Michael Key, JD McCrary, Shahadi Wright Joseph, with Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, and James Earl Jones reprising his role from the original film.
Plans for a remake of 1994's The Lion King were confirmed in September 2016 with Favreau attached to directed following box office successes for Disney remakes such as The Jungle Book (2016), which was also directed by Favreau. Disney hired Nathanson to write the screenplay in October 2016. Favreau was inspired by certain roles of characters in the Broadway adaptation and developed upon elements of the original film's story. Much of the main cast signed in early 2017, and principal photography began in mid-2017 on a blue screen stage in Los Angeles. The "virtual-reality tools" utilized in The Jungle Book's cinematography were used to a greater degree during filming of The Lion King. Composers Hans Zimmer, Elton John, and lyricist Tim Rice, all of whom worked on the original's soundtrack, returned to compose the score alongside Knowles-Carter, who assisted John in the reworking of the soundtrack and wrote a new song for the film, titled "Spirit", which she also performed. The film serves as the final credit for editor Mark Livolsi, and it is dedicated to his memory. With an estimated budget of around $260 million, The Lion King is one of the most expensive films ever made.

37. a song that legitimately makes you cry :D
37. A song the legitimately makes me cry:
A SONG? JUST ONE?
Let me tell you, there is more then ONE song that can move me to tears and make me cry like idiot; be it happy or sad tears x'D
But if I had to pick one, its this one!
They Live in You (From the Broadway Musical) sung by Samuel E. Wright
Followed up by the reprise as well because DAMN, powerful emotions going on with both these songs!
They Live in You (Reprise) sung by Jason Raize and Tsidii Le Loka
Having seen it in person, I legit began sobbing at these particular scenes and every time I hear it I still cry to be honest x'D Like I said before, some very powerful emotions surge when these play and being able to see these musical numbers in person, it really makes the experience all the more better! :D

Non-consecutive. It's a really obstructed video, and it only has 50 minutes of the show. Highlights include: Put You In Your Place, The Campfire Song, The Oracle, Good Kid, Killer Quest!, Lost!, My Grand Plan, Drive, DOA, Son of Poseidon, The Last Day of Summer, and Bring on the Monster. Several of the songs are incomplete, and there are some other scenes as well. The Lion King - Broadway - November 16, 1997 FORMAT:  VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Jason Raize (Simba), John Vickery (Scar), Heather Headley (Nala), Tsidii Le Loka (Rafiki), Max Casella (Timon), Tom Alan Robbins (Pumbaa), Geoff Hoyle (Zazu), Stanley Wayne Mathis (Banzai), Kevin Cahoon (Ed) NOTES: Filmed RIGHT after opening night on Broadway when the show was still fresh. Shot from one of the boxes, resulting in an extreme angle (think near-perpendicular) so you can see into the wings and watch the actors slacking. Sound is great and it’s very well shot for a vid of its age though there is a touch of gen loss. Circle of Life is near perfect despite a little bit of washout. The Lion King - National Tour - June 5, 2010 FORMAT:  VOB (no smalls) (SD) CAST: Andre Jackson (Simba), Brent Harris (Scar), Frank Wright II (u/s Mufasa), Marja Harmon (Nala), Phindile Mkhize (Rafiki), Jered Tanner (u/s Pumbaa), Sophia Stephens (u/s Shenzi), Jerome Stephens Jr (Young Simba), Jamariana Tribble (Young Nala) NOTES: A couple of blackouts during Circle of Life and first couple of minutes of act two, otherwise nice capture. Rare! The Little Mermaid - Broadway - January 30, 2008 (SunsetBlvd79's master) FORMAT:  VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Sierra Boggess (Ariel), Sherie Rene Scott (Ursula), Bret Shuford (u/s Prince Eric), Norm Lewis (King Triton), Tituss Burgess (Sebastian), Eddie Korbich (Scuttle), Jonathan Freeman (Grimsby), Derrick Baskin (Jetsam), Tyler Maynard (Flotsam), Cody Hanford (Flounder), Heidi Blickenstaff (Carlotta), John Treacy Egan (Chef Louis) NOTES: Great capture with great closups. The first 11 minutes after the overture are mostly blackouts due to late comers, after that no real problems. Bret did a nice job as understudy. Sierra and Sherie still rock with much greatness! Also includes the Part of Your World performance and interview on The View. A- The Little Mermaid - The Netherlands - 2012 (Highlights) FORMAT:  VOB (no smalls) (SD) CAST: Jantien Euwe/Tessa van Tol (Ariel), Britt Lenting (u/s Ursula), Mischa Kiek/Tommie Christiaan (Prince Eric), Roberto de Groot (Sebastian) NOTES: Highlights for about 35 minutes from different shows The Little Mermaid - The Netherlands - 2013 FORMAT:  MP4 (HD) CAST: Tessa van Tol (Ariel), Ellis van Laarhoven (alt Ursula), Tommie Christiaan (Prince Eric), Marc-Peter van der Maas (u/s King Triton), Juan Wells (Sebastian), Martijn Vogel (Flounder) NOTES: No zooms and some heads in the way. In act 2 mostly pointed too high. Very slight generational loss. A Little Night Music - Théâtre Du Châtelet - 2010 (House-Cam's master) FORMAT:  VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Greta Scacchi (Desiree Armfeldt), Leslie Caron (Madame Armfeldt), Lambert Wilson (Fredrik Egerman), Rebecca Bottone (Anne Egerman), David Curry (Henrik Egerman), Nicholas Garrett (Count Carl-Magnus Malcolm), Deanne Meek (Countess Charlotte Malcolm), Francesca Jackson (Petra), Celeste de Veazey (Fredrika Armfeldt) NOTES: This is the first production of Sondheim's show ever in France. Off-Center - July 1, 2015 (Opening Night) (NYCG8R's master) FORMAT:  VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Jake Gyllenhaal (Seymour), Ellen Greene (Audrey), Joe Grifasi (Mushnik), Taran Killam (Orin), Eddie Cooper (Audrey II), Marva Hicks (Crystal), Ramona Keller (Ronnette), Tracy Nicole Chapman (Chiffon) NOTES: Opening Night filmed from the very back of City Center, so there is some spotlight washout that's never too bad and a head that's shot well around. A- Little Shop of Horrors - Encores! Off-Center - July 2, 2015 (Matinee) (SunsetBlvd79's master) FORMAT:  VOB (no smalls) (SD) CAST: Jake Gyllenhaal (Seymour), Ellen Greene (Audrey), Joe Grifasi (Mushnik), Taran Killam (Orin), Eddie Cooper (Audrey II), Marva Hicks (Crystal), Ramona Keller (Ronnette), Tracy Nicole Chapman (Chiffon) NOTES: Beautiful HD capture of the Encores Summer Series. Ellen and Jake were perfection and this was the 2015 show that was not to be missed! The last 15 mins (customers coming in and song/scene finale don't feed the plants) are mostly blind shot, where a few times no action can be seen. Everything else is there and beautiful. A- Little Shop of Horrors - Off-Broadway Revival - January 24, 2020 (Highlights) FORMAT:  MP4 (HD) CAST: Gideon Glick (Seymour), Tammy Blanchard (Audrey), Tom Alan Robbins (Mushnik), Christian Borle (Orin), Kingsley Leggs (Audrey II), Salome Smith (Crystal), Ari Groover (Ronnette), Joy Woods (Chiffon) NOTES: Highlights include from "Dentist!" to "Mushnik and Son" and from "Suddenly Seymour" to "Suppertime" Little Shop of Horrors - Pasadena Playhouse - October 13, 2019 FORMAT:  MOV (HD) CAST: George Salazar (Seymour), MJ Rodriguez (Audrey), Kevin Chamberlin (Mushnik), Matthew Wilkas (Orin), Amber Riley (Audrey II), Cheyenne Isabel Wells (Crystal), Brittany Campbell (Ronnette), Tickwanya Jones (Chiffon), Brittany Campbell, Cheyenne Isabel Wells, Tickwanya Jones NOTES: Includes the full show and the curtain call. There is some drifting in Act One, but it isn’t as prevalent in Act Two. There are a lot of obstructions, but I was (mostly) able to film around them. The only part that was really blocked was Somewhere That’s Green. Somewhere That’s Green (Reprise) is the only majorly whitewashed part, but other than that it’s not too much of an issue. Overall, it’s a pretty decent capture of the show, considering it’s my first video master. Little Women - Broadway - December 11, 2004 (Preview) FORMAT:  VOB (no smalls) (SD) CAST: Sutton Foster (Jo), Danny Gurwin (Laurie), Megan McGinnis (Beth), Jenny Powers (Meg), Amy McAlexander (Amy), Maureen McGovern (Marmee), Janet Carroll (Aunt March), John Hickok (Professor Bhaer), Robert Stattel (Mr. Laurence), Jim Weitzer (Mr. Brooke) NOTES: Excellent video capture of the show! A little spotlight washout in the first 15 mins. Sound is excellent throughout. Also includes short Preview piece from NY1. Lizzie - Amherst - April 7, 2018 (Pro-Shot's master) FORMAT:  MP4 (HD) CAST: Kiely Mugford (Lizzie Borden), Emma Ratshin (Emma Borden), Willa Grimes (Alice Russell), Dominique Manuel (Bridget Sullivan) NOTES: This is a proshot/house cam that the production company (Amherst College Green Room) has posted online in full 1080p resolution. Lord of the Rings: The Musical - Toronto, Canada - August 26, 2006 (Highlights) FORMAT:  VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: James Loye (Frodo), Peter Howe (Sam), Brent Carver (Gandalf), Evan Buliung (Aragorn), Rebecca Jackson Mendoza (Galadriel), Owen Sharpe (Pippin), Dylan Roberts (Merry), Michael Therriault (Gollum), Carly Street (Arwen), Victor A Young (Elrond), Dion Johnstone (Boromir), Gabriel Burrafato (Legolas), Ross Williams (Gimli), Richard McMillan (Saruman), Kristin Galer (Rosie Cotton), Cliff Saunders (Bilbo Baggins), Kerry Dorey NOTES: Footage that runs over an hour long. Pretty dark and most full stage shots. Includes scenes from Acts 2 and 3. Often listed as several different dates including March 23, 2006 Love in Hate Nation - Red Bank - November 30, 2019 (Highlights) (Sammi's master) FORMAT:  MP4 (SD) CAST: Amina Faye (Susannah), Kelly McIntyre (Sheila Nail), Emerson Mae Smith (Kitty), Lauren Marcus (Miss Asp), Lena Skeele (Dorothy), Tatiana Wechsler (Judith), Sydney Farley (Ya-Ya), Jasmine Forsberg (Rat), Ryan Vona (Francis/Buzz/Doc Shock/Others) NOTES: Act 1 only. However it is easily crackable with free software like Handbrake. Love Never Dies - West End - June 25, 2010 (House-Cam's master) FORMAT:  VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Ramin Karimloo (The Phantom), Sierra Boggess (Christine Daaé), Joseph Millson (Raoul, Vicomte de Chagny), Liz Robertson (Madame Giry), Summer Strallen (Meg Giry) NOTES: House cam pro-shot. Pre-changes. Mic seems to cut out toward the end of "The Beauty Underneath" but is back by "The Phantom Confronts Christine." Fuzzy video quality, audio is fine. The frame rate seems to be low so the video lags.

Thursday Thoughts: Disney On Broadway Concert Series Wish List
For the last four years, guests at the Epcot International Festival of the Arts have been dazzled by Broadway stars. The Disney on Broadway Concert Series, originally a weekend-only event in 2017, quickly adopted a full seven-day-a-week schedule in subsequent years, with star duos trading off performance nights – and what a delight those performances have been! Seeing the artists who brought beloved Disney characters to life on stage, and getting to hear them sing our favorite songs from those shows, is beyond amazing. It’s even more amazing when those performers are not on an album recording, but just a few yards or even feet away from you in the America Gardens Theatre!
I’ve been to several festival performances since they began. I’ve heard Heidi Blickenstaff’s chilling rendition of Ursula’s “Poor Unfortunate Souls,” Alton Fitzgerald-White’s soulful performance of Mufasa’s “They Live In You,” and Steve Blanchard’s enchanting portrayal of the Beast’s “If I Can’t Love Her.” It’s been a delight to watch Gavin Lee tap-dance across the stage to “Step In Time” from Mary Poppins, and for Ashley Brown to teach us how to spell “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.”
I am, of course, eager for each of these previous performers, and all the others I have not listed here, to return to the Festival of the Arts. However, I can’t help but think about all the other Disney on Broadway musicals I adore. Who else might we have the honor to see and hear at Epcot in future seasons?
Here is my wish list for future Disney on Broadway Concert Series performances – in no particular order!
1. Merle Dandridge – Kala in Tarzan: The Broadway Musical
We’ve had a couple of Tarzan’s actors in the concert series before. Josh Strickland and Kevin Massey certainly have the rock-star voice to deliver Phil Collins’s hits. But for me, the best thing about the Tarzan musical is that Kala herself gets to sing “You’ll Be In My Heart,” rather than leaving it to the male background singer. It’s a gorgeous version of an Oscar-winning song, and it would fill my heart to hear her perform it live.
2. Sierra Boggess – Ariel in The Little Mermaid
Our wonderful Disney on Broadway Concert Series performers keep singing songs from The Little Mermaid – and doing a wonderful job at it, don’t get me wrong. But what if we actually got to see the original mermaid princess sing “Part of Your World” for herself? Sierra Boggess, also known for performing Christine Daaé in productions of The Phantom of the Opera and Love Never Dies, was Broadway’s original Ariel. It would be amazing to have her in Epcot!
3. Michael Arden – Quasimodo in The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Unfortunately, Disney’s stage production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame never made it out of its off-Broadway days. However, this didn’t stop the Paper Mill Playhouse cast from creating a gorgeous studio recording album, and it hasn’t stopped the concert series from using its songs in the show, either! Hearing Michael Arden belt out “Out There” and “Made of Stone” is breathtaking enough in audio alone. Seeing him in person would be a dream come true.
4. Ciara Renée – Esmeralda in The Hunchback of Notre Dame
While we’re at it, why not bring Esmeralda to life in Epcot as well? “God Help The Outcasts” has been at the top of Disney fans’ favorite songs list since it was first sung, and who better to sing it in the Disney on Broadway Concert Series than Ciara Renée, who played opposite Michael Arden in the off-Broadway production!
5. Just about everyone from Frozen: The Broadway Musical
I mean, come on. We all want this. Yes, it’s fun to hear other Broadway stars sing the songs from the Frozen movie in concert. But what about the songs that were written for the stage production? What about hearing Patti Murin sing “True Love”? What about hearing Jelani Alladin sing “Kristoff’s Lullaby”? What about hearing the two of them sing-argue their way through “What Do You Know About Love?” And what about hearing Caissie Levy sing “Monster” and “Dangerous to Dream?” Now that new performers are taking their turn in Frozen on Broadway, let’s send the original stars some invitations to Epcot!
6. Tsidii Le Loka, Josette Bushell-Mingo, or Buyi Zama – Rafiki in The Lion King
I honestly couldn’t decide for this one. Original Broadway Cast, Original London Cast, or international casts – they’re all excellent. I just love “Circle of Life.” I just want Rafiki to get the same recognition Mufasa and Nala have at the Epcot Festival of the Arts. I just want more Disney on Broadway in Epcot, you guys!
Which Disney on Broadway musicals and songs do you like best? Who would you love to see perform at Epcot in 2021? Reblog, retweet, or reply with your Disney on Broadway memories and dreams!

WIP - A writing tag
I found this on my dash and it looked fun - let’s have a go
I’m doing some editing and work on TCM, so here goes
1. Describe the plot in one sentence.
Stumbling over the destructive truth pinning the state against the leading world religion, young adults caught in the midst of a war over magic must escape their prison, discover the truth about biggest genocide of an age, and raise the forces to bring an end to it.
2. Pick one sight, smell, sound, feel, and taste to describe the aesthetic of your novel.
Sight: A volcano. Although this appears no where in the story, it is a powerful sign of change, of fire, of revolution
smell: Silver dust, contrast by clear air
sound: Her/His voice
feel: A single twisted cotton thread wrapped and tied around the left thumb
taste: Chocolate - an emblematic scene between characters of friendship, later bringing up the memory of kindness
3. Which 3+ songs would make up a playlist for the novel?
Tomorrow Still Comes - Will Dailey
Things Left Unsaid - Disciple
Arrival to Earth - Steve Jablonsky
Evelyn - Hurts
Rafiki Mourns - Tsidii Le Loka
Amazing - Blue October
4. What’s the time period and location in which the novel takes place.
Alternative fantasy timeline - not at the Industrial Revolution
5. Is this a standalone or a part in a series?
TCM is a trilogy (which is how I’m discussing it here)
6. Are there any former titles you’ve considered but discarded?
TCM stands for the chessboard metaphor which is NOT its name, but I still use as shorthand for what is now ‘The Games of Al’terra’
7. What’s the first line of your novel?
Grey.
8. What’s a dialogue you’re particularly proud of?
They’re usually just short exchanges and I write too much to fish for tons:
"And how do you find it?" Kite asked in a whispered.
"I take pleasure from your pleasure."
9. Which line from the novel most represents it as a whole?
           “Well, this is the end.”
(probably)
10. Who are your character faceclaims?
I try not to do that, that being said:
Jared - Enver Gjokaj (Victor from Dollhouse, especially later stage)
Rob - Brian Rosenthal (various things from Starkid)
11. Sort your characters into Harry Potter houses!
Uh.....
Griffindor - Damien, Jared, Laura (fight me)
Slytherin - Austin, Olivia, Cyrus, Shendera
Ravenclaw - Kite, Timethy
Hufflepuff - Nicki, Rob, Sam
12. Which character’s name do you like the most?
Benjaymint. Come on
13. Describe each character’s daily outfit.
None of this is interesting, as itès all plot specific and Grecian inspired.
14. Do any characters have distinctive birthmarks/scars?
No. Tattoos come about as they age.
15. Which character most fits a character trope?
Oh no, please give me a list of tropes.
How about Rob: Tends to be the subject of ‘Kick the dog’ and suffers a bit from Naive Everygirl initially
16. Which character is the best writer? Worst?
A reck Sam is the best writer, seeing as she has the most practice. Worst might be Jared - I doubt he does, although very well spoken.
17. Which character is the best liar? Worst?
Arguably Austin, but after that for sure Jared.
18. Which character swears the most? Least?
I do reckon that Damien does, but not in the traditional way, a lot of ‘water and fire’ and ‘burn me!’ and so on. Jared is more likely to tell you to eff off.
19. Which character has the best handwriting? Worst?
Cyrus and Olivia - they must! The worst....Jared for the same reasons.
20. Which character is most like you? Least like you?
Kite though I’ve taken steps to take her away from me - though everyone has a piece of me: Sam, Cyrus, Damien, Nicki etc.
I don’t think Rob is very much like me at all, or at least I hope so.
21. Which character would you most like to be?
The life of TCM is a tough one and so perhaps Diamir is the best choice, for she is the future. Cheers my lovelies, happy 20191

March 2018 Playlist
Summary: This is when I started making some changes to my life by limiting or cutting a lot of toxic people from my life. I warned one of my friends who still wished to interact with them about their toxic behaviors and they seemed to take it into consideration at the time, but things started ending up going south later eventually. Which, deeply saddened me because I sincerely treasured and care for that friendship, but I couldn’t keep holding on to it if they weren’t willing to do the same. However, I think it was necessary for me to experience it as well because this experience strengthened the relationships I had with my friends and made us definitely realize that we needed to be more open about our struggles physically, mentally, and socially on things. Therefore, I think this is one of my favorite playlists because it highlights the struggles of me letting those toxic relationship go, working on fostering my current relationships, and accepting the fact that I couldn’t keep pushing my friends away when I needed help because they care and love me for who I am.
