me screaming from the rooftops: LOLLIPOP!!!!
I AM SO STOKED TO ANSWER THIS TY HAN
lollipop - favorite makeup products?
in no particular order!
too faced’s sweet peach palette! it was one of my first Big Bitch Makeup Purchases and to this day it’s one of my faaaaaaaave palettes. the smell! the pretty pink shades! the PACKAGING!!!!! i tried so hard to like the white peach palette too but it didn’t even compare to this one.
another too faced one whoops sry but!! their life’s a festival palette i fucking LOOOOOOOOVE. it’s got so much character compared to their usual run of the mill bland neutral palettes (which don’t get me wrong i fucking love a good, solid neutral palette!!!). there’s only two matte shades, orange and pink, and the rest are beauuuutiful shimmery and glittery duo chromes and i cry bc i managed to grab it for half off. :-)
colourpop’s uh huh honey palette!!! it’s all yellow!!! my happy colour!!!! makes me feel like fuckin sunshine when i wear it and it was 12 bucks what a BARGAIN
colourpop’s stix for highlighters and blush. you get twice as much product as you would from the travel milk makeup sticks and i like them so much better lol they glide and blend so heavenly
elf’s clear brow gel is my fuckin go to. shits 2 dollars and keeps my ridiculous brows lifted and shaped all damn day. also love their wowbrow product. does the job of glossier’s boy brow without breaking the bank lmao.
coloured raine’s vivid pigment palette!!!!! holy GOD this thing is a national treasure. the pan sizes are like. big. huge. i’m talkin the size of dollar coins. the shades are vibrant as FUCK. i got it as a dupe for that morphe palette everyone went nuts over years back that had all the nice pretty rainbow shades, and when i wanted to move on from my UD electric palette. it was a little more but the pan size made it worth it!!!! i recommend it to anyone who’s looking for fun colours!
ALSO the BH cosmetics back to brazil (i think thats the name?) palette is a fuckin GOLD MINE for 20 bucks. you can’t beat it. the pan sizes are smaller but the pigment is pretty dope for the price, and there’s more shades than the coloured raine one.
okay. gotta mention my fave in my recent explorations in sfx makeup. idk if they do now, but around halloween, makeup revolution sold their own liquid latex for like, 5 bucks a tube? that shit is FANTASTIC. as a beginner that made me feel hella comfortable dipping my toes into sfx makeup for the first time. they also had halloween themed palettes which i am a SLUT for. take it to the grave (??)is one of my faaaaaaaves and it was less than 10 bucks!
makeup revolution also has a lot of great makeup! i love their concealer that’s a dupe for tarte’s shape tape. i looooove shape tape but it feels like every time i go to get a new tube, the price has gone up? it’s great but i can’t be bothered spending nearly 30 for concealer lol. MR also makes a bangin dupe for milk’s kush mascara, you get twice as much for the price of a milk makeup travel size lmao.
i’m a slut for glitter, especially for pride and fun makeup looks and most importantly camp lol, though i’ve been trying to be wary about the kinds i but to be more eco friendly! found a shop on etsy that makes fantastic biodegradable glitter (i think her shop is mermaid magic glitter?), and they’ve lasted for me since 2018, bc there’s just so much product slammed into those tiny jars. i wanna try colourpop’s glitters but as far as i’m aware they’re not eco friendly :( hopefully someday tho!
nyx’s mixing medium is a dupe for inglot’s liner mixer (i can’t remember the actual name my bad), and much cheaper. i fucking love it. i used to spend a lot of individual eyeliner shades but now i just use that medium with any eyeshadow i want to create my own eyeliner look!!
not really makeup but i love gluing little paper flowers to my face and pair that with vibrant looks ☺️
colourpop’s so juicy lip gloss fuckin RULES. lime crime has a p dece lip gloss too called wet cherry, but it’s 18 bucks 👎🏻 i’m real into lip glosses lately more than actual lipsticks, but i still love and respect my tru goth love for matte dark purples and black.
OH WAIT ONE MORE OKAY the black moon cosmetics orb of light full moon palette (jesus what a mouth full) fucking top fave neutral palette. the rusty shades i’m such a slut for. makes smokey eyes a breeze. fucking. love it.
also i guess i should mention primers i skip around on trying new ones a lot but right now i’ve been using elf’s puff puff primer and their jelly primer lmao both i love
SORRY THIS TURNED INTO LIKE A FULL REVIEW LMFAO thank you so much for asking han i fucking love makeup so much!!!!!!!

i watched a bunch of project pan videos while i cleaned my brushes and...FINE! i’ll do it this year. some of this i’ve been working on with this intention for ages but maybe if i name it, lol. i should probably participate in online spaces where the other ppl are doing this but....ok! not counting the stuff i’ll definitely use up (brow pencils, mascara, my daily powder, mac fix+ etc). mostly minis but leave me alone:
FACE
thebalm mary lou manizer. this is really as good as people claim, and i really am going to, as the hurus say, “enjoy using it up”--good looking pan on that already!
too faced chocolate soleil bronzer. looking forward to rewarding myself with mac taupe in place of this, and a cream contour if i can find one like fenty amber for cheaper. i use it on my eyes a lot also, like i could use this as an eye contour colour every day with whatever else i do, but i’ll be happy to switch that function to that medium brown in the naked 1.
benefit f...fake up? this is the product that is now the boiing hydrating concealer. this is kind of nice and i’d consider buying it again, but i like more undereye coverage now actually. there’s only a few uses left of this!
this hard candy liquid illuminator that was never good but which i’ve been determined to defeat. it’s maybe down to a third, but the last few times i tried to wear it it got kinda clumpy. might be a loss.
model co blush in peach bellini. hate to want to give this up because it’s gorgeous and one of my favorite blushes, but it breaks constantly and i’m sick of babysitting it. i also wear it very heavy so this should be doable. will maybe replace with a higher end version of the same concept, a rusty coral full of shine.
benefit girl meets pearl. i can probably finish this up in a few weeks if i pay attention!
the face stuff i probably won’t make any progress on til the summer
benefit pores no more. probably just a few more uses left in this, i’m hoping i can make winter space for it (want to feel better buying the elf putty primer when i get a chance to)
dr. brandt pores no more. pretty full mini but if i use up the above asap i can get this finished by the end of summer.
tarte natural cheek stain. this is so so so old and inexplicably still gorgeous, i figured it’s only a matter of time and i should probably target it, for the summer when it looks nicest. probably quarter of an inch left of this.
benefit fine one one. another creamy cheek thing that is nicest in the summer. probably half an inch left. i’m determined! if rgr finishes cream blushes, she can have a nudestix cream blush the hurus love? as a treat?
this physicians formula high alcohol setting spray--there’s so much left of this and i’m going nowhere, but i reaaaallly wanna use it up so i can move on to a bottle of ud all nighter sephora accidentally gave me. i so rarely wear this kind of setting spray! i will not pan this, and i should pass it on to someone else. it’s like loaded with alcohol lol
EYE
very old urban decay midnight cowgirl? idk, got a lot of pan, and since it’s more like a glitter additive i feel like it won’t make me feel stifled to work on this.
this “eye polish”?? what it is is a bottle of shimmery loose shadow on a foam applicator thing. it’s stupid to use and impossible to decant but i’m gonna try to remember to use it for my inner corner because it is actually so gorgeous
essence make me brow. unclear how i haven’t used this up??? it goes and goes
stila silver dollar. i have three silver eyeliners, they’re all nice but this is my least favorite because it’s so white. since it’s a stick and not a pencil i should use it before it dries up.
i’ll add some colourpop super shocks to this when i get duraline to freshen em up, probably.
LIP
this starlooks creamy nude gloss thing. this is actually pretty nice but i doubt i’ll use it up, i’ll just give it til the fall or so. i’m sick of looking at it.
buxom soft matte whatever in centerfold. lots of retailer birthday gifts here lol. this is too warm for me to love but i’m gonna give it a shot.
urban decay 69 in the old REVOLUTION formula. fuck, i’ve been working on this for years and i accidentally fell in love with it. it’s gorgeous on me. a wetter red lipstick is really the thing. i’ll use it up easily but miss it when it’s gone, and i’ll consider repurchasing in the new vice formula but revlon’s fire and ice is very close to this, a tiny bit darker.
colourpop the rabbit. this is fairly full but it’s a liquid lipstick that i actually like wearing so i should try to use it all up. this is what i was wearing the other night, at new years.
colourpop trap. listen... i bought the closest lipstick dupe to this and it’s just not the same. i’m gonna miss this! there’s maybe like 2 wears left in here.
the tarte lip paint thing in birthday suit. i actually kinda like this, for a nude, and i’ve worn it enough that i should be able to use it up.
bare minerals marvelous moxie lipstick in get ready. more birthday nudes!  it pains me to put this on here because it’s actually one of my favorite lipsticks and one of the best formulas i’ve ever tried, and they don’t make it anymore! i looove wearing this. a brighter nude, still nude. a pleasure to wear. i should just use it up and, again, as they say, “enjoy it.”
gingerbread lip balm for going under all these fucking liquid lipsticks
makeup forever whatever in no9 or something. this is a brownier nude, which i’d like if it wasn’t an inferior version of one i like from urban decay or something. i probably won’t actually finish this and it’s starting to dry out, but i oughta take a crack at it.
rimmel exaggerate lipliner in rich. i wear lipliner a lot more now (workdays) and want to beef up my stash, but first i wanna get rid of all the old ones and twist-ups that might dry out. this might be close to done.
see you in the next quarter! whoms joining me

i really wanted to do this makeup questionnaire!! you could say i was tagged by @cacupid (but not really dshjka) so here i am 🥰🥰🥰
What foundation/concealer do you use?
currently i dont use a concealer bc i havent found one i like and i feel like concealer generally looks a bit cakey on me since i like light coverage, but i use the Too Faced Born this Way Foundation in the shades snow and cloud (mixed together) although i’m thinking of looking into the new Fenty Pro Filt’r Hydrating Longwear Foundation since I know they have my shade (tried the matte formula) and I would rather support Fenty than Too Faced! Not gonna try it till ive used up all of my BTW though 🥰
What do you think of fake eyelashes?
i think they can look super pretty! but i also dont like using them myself bc i have deepset eyes and they generally cover all my eyeshadow ! i will use them if im doing a campy / editorial sort of look but im so bad at applying them its barely worth it sometimes fhadsjfak
What makeup tools do you use in makeup application?
I use mainly a brush set i got from BH cosmetics which are great quality as well as some Ecotools brushes i got from Coles. i also use a cheap makeup sponge i got from kmart bc it does the job and its ridiculous to spend $30 on a sponge that is no different than cheaper sponges!!
What makeup do you currently wear every day?
i don’t wear makeup everyday but when i do and its not like a ~special~ look i generally use no primer (besides moisturiser), the foundation I mentioned set with my Australis HD Translucent Loose Setting Powder which I’ve only just started using and i like it so far, really finely milled! for my brows i use my Rimmel Wonder’full Brow Gel in 003 Dark Brown since it darkens my brows perfectly bc if I do it too much I look like a neanderthal lmao (love that deep set eye prominent brow bone combo). For eye shadow I generally use my Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina palette or my BH Cosmetics Love Signs palette followed by my Elf H2O Proof Eyeliner Pen (not the greatest eyeliner but since i only do wings and dont fully line my eye it works for me!) I then curl my lashes and apply the Benefit Roller Lash Mascara (the sample sizes last so long). If I’m doing blush it’ll be my Revlon Insta Blush Stick in Nude Kiss or Maybelline Fit Me blush in Rose! Finally i’ll generally use one of my NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams since I find them super comfy and set with Morphe Continuous Setting Mist!!
What do you think of makeup?
I enjoy makeup as a way to express myself creatively since i suck at traditional art lol but i also think it can be dangerous and that the current insta glam makeup that is trendy now is dangerous - no one can look that perfect!!! i also think it fosters self esteem issues with much of the marketing bc thats how they make money, by shaming people!! i also hate when im expected to wear makeup i think its a problem when it gets to that point where someone has literal anxiety about being bare faced, like it can really be traumatic ! also the trend of having tons of makeup i mean that shits expensive and you really dont need that much, it shouldnt be normalised AGH. i also hate how a lot of brands sexualise their products which theyre promoting to young girls !! its disgusting!!! dont call your mascara better than sex or your blush orgasm i get so heated over this, they shouldnt think to use makeup to make them ~sexy~ theyre young girls this makeup makes them look like theyre in their 20s they shouldnt be worrying about their appearance in this way theyre kids AGH
What cosmetic products have you always wanted to try but still haven’t?
I really wanna try some colourpop products, nothing in particular but i hear their quality is great for the price and if that doesnt draw me in idk what does!
How often do you shop for makeup?
not very often, i usually buy makeup if i need to replace a staple in my routine, or if i see a palette i really like and am in the financial position to buy it / can’t dupe it with my current collection
Who are your favorite bloggers/vloggers?
i LOVE Smokey Glow and Nisipisa, they’re great if youre looking into makeup with a critical anti-consumerism eye
Do you like multifunctional products like lip and cheek stains?
yes! i use my cream blushes for lip stains sometimes and they look very nice
Do you subscribe to any beauty boxes?
nope! idk if there are any in australia and id rather just buy stuff i want than buy random things that i might not even like
Favourite recent beauty buy?
probably my Sugarpill Fun Size palette! the colours are so unique, but i was rly disappointed in the shade Twitch it under-performed compared to the rest :(
All-time favourite beauty item?
probably my BTW Foundation bc it was the only foundation I’ve ever used that doesn’t sink into my pores and cling to my dry patches
Any beauty brands you won’t support?
Jeffree Star Cosmetics, Kat Von D, Kylie Cosmetics, KKW Beauty, most influencer brands, Huda Beauty, Limecrime, Morphe (when I finish my setting mist I won’t be buying again)
I tag anyone who wants to do this! i dont really know anyone on here so just go for it  💖 sorry that this doesnt make heaps of sense i struggled putting my thoughts into words haha

The Purge (Cruelty Free dupes for makeup artists & enthusiasts) Round 3
Here’s another round of makeup that I’ve managed to find suitable cruelty free alternatives to. If you’re looking to go cruelty free and want to find some great dupes check out my other two posts with more swap overs Here (Post 1) and Here (Post 2).  Although I’m not 100% cruelty free yet I’m looking into alternatives and these are products that I’ve tried on both myself and in a professional capacity. I’ll continue to share these as I switch my kit :
The Mascaras
Tumblr media
[Photography Charlotte Rutherford for Bullet Magazine]
Saying goodbye to all the Mac mascaras that I used and loved and moving over to several new brands. Lets start with Pixi! Absolutely love their Black Waterproof Mascara. If you are London based they have a shop in Covent Garden and I would 100% recommend popping in as the shop is generally quite a  calm shopping experience and the staff are always available to help with questions. Illamasqua Gain Mascara is also a really nice dupe as it’s full coverage black and does the job. Both Pixi and Illamasqua have makeup artist pro programs as well. If you’re not around those shops you can check out Elf Cosmetics on the hughstreet at your local Superdrug. Good value for money. I recommend the Plump It Up Mascara.

The Setting Spray/Face Mist
Tumblr media
[Photography Sophie Ellen / Hair Alaister Jubbs at Vae Hair]
Letting go of Mac Fix + was one of those things I didn’t think I’d be able to do. It was a kit staple for years and I had never found a contender that worked quite as well as it did... until I was introduced to Jane Iredale! Not only did I find a contender but the Jane Iredale Face Mists are also organic and smell AMAZING AND they have a range of sprays for different needs (oily skin, hydrating etc) I personally love their Pommist which has Pomegranate extract in it. Check them out here . Makeup artist note Jane Iredale ALSO shave a pro programme available.
Tumblr media
The Brow Pencils
Tumblr media
For a makeup artist, brows are IMPORTANT. Whether they’re brushed up with clear gel, structured with pencil or just given a little bit more of an arch, its rare that a makeup artist wouldn’t have a huge range of brow products in their kit. I’ve found loads of brow pencil alternatives both high end and on the high street since I started to switch my kit. I’m saying goodbye to Mac Lingering , Spiked and Fling and replacing these with the bargain price Elf range which works a treat and for those interested in organic makeup - check out Jane Iredale’s - they have recently  updated their colour range as well. In terms of a softer pencil replacements I’d highly recommend the Barry M range! The colours are long lasting and they blend into the brow really well. I like that they come with a little comb on the end as well.
Tumblr media
The Eyeshadow Stick
Goodbye Mac Shadesticks (to be fair these are discontinued now and needed to go!) If you’re looking for everyday wear shades like subtle browns and nudes head to your local Superdrug and check out  Elf No Budge Shadow Stick + Gosh Cosmetics Forever Eye Shadow Stick! They don’t crease throughout the day and work beautifully under eyeshadows as a primer. If you’re looking for something with a brighter colour pop shout out to 3ina who have a fab range of bright coloured stick shadows as well!
Tumblr media
The Face Primer
Okay this is a bit of a funny one because I actually have a range of face primers for different things. However the one I used to use THE MOST was this Smashbox Photo Finish Primer which worked a treat for editorial jobs. I’m switching it up for this fantastic but rather wobbly Illamasqua Hydra Veil Primer. It comes in a little pot and when you put it on the skin it has a really fresh and cooling sensation that clients/models LOVE.
Part hydrator, part primer, Hydra Veil instantly hydrates and smooths skin through a self-levelling, futuristic clear gel
Microalgae, Vitamin C and B3 work together to help maintain skins hydration levels, creating a healthy looking, balanced finish
Plant extracts also provide a calming and refreshing feeling, leaving skin fully prepped to apply your chosen foundation.
Tumblr media
 The Matte Face Primer
Another skincare product I’m leaving behind is this Mac Matte Primer. I used to use this for a lot of male grooming jobs and on clients with really oily skin. I’ve found an organic alternative in Jane Iredale’s Absence Oil Control Primer.
Reduces sebaceous hypersecretion with Hydrated Silica and also helps to regulate the pH balance of the skin; however, it does not affect the skin’s moisture, only the oil ( the interaction of oil and make-up is one of the principal causes of color change.)
Smoothes the appearance of pores and fine lines.
Calms and soothes. Reduces redness.
Key Ingredients include Hydrated Silica which holds seven times its molecular weight in moisture.
Green Tea Leaf Extract Calms. Protects. Provides bacterial protection.
Tumblr media
The Matte Contouring Palette / Bronzer
Tumblr media
[Photography Mateus Sitek, Hair KT Girl Hair for Revs Magazine]
Goodbye Mac Matte Bronzer and hello Jane Iredale Contouring Palette’s. I love this swap over as Jane Iredale make both a warm and a cool palette with three shades in each (a bronzer, a blusher and a highlighter).
Tumblr media
The Matte Eyebrow Palette
Tumblr media
A good mate eyebrow palette for me is essential. I rarely am without one on jobs because if I get one of those “no makeup makeup” requests, I like to make life harder on myself and still pop a little eyeshadow on! I had some kit favourites such as Mac Wedge and Embark eyeshadow but moving forward I’ve found this lovely Tarte Cosmetic Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Palette which has a good range of softer colours , highlights and also deeper tones too. This brand IS now in the UK and you can find them here .
Tumblr media
The White Foundation
Tumblr media
If you’re not a makeup artist you might be looking at this and thinking ??? WHITE FOUNDATION. Yes white foundation my friends. Makeup artists... you know! This is a KIT STAPLE - in order to effectively mix shades of foundation  together I used to always trust my Mac White Face & Body Foundation, but these days I’m using Illamasqua who have the perfect cruelty free dupes. They do a sheerer white foundation in the form of their Skin Base SB01 or a much fuller coverage *also this is great for Halloween or period makeup* Rich Liquid Foundation. I like options. I’m loving Illamasqua for this!
Tumblr media
The Cream Blusher
Tumblr media
[Mote Paper Magazine Outtake shot by Joanna W]
Again another really easy product to swap over. Their are LOADS of brands doing gorgoeus cream blushers. I used to have a variety of non cruelty free cream blushers decanted in a little travel size box but I’ve not swapped these over for Glossier Cloud Paint. Great colour choices. SUPER CUTE packaging and of course like all these swap overs ... cruelty free
Tumblr media
More to follow as my kit transforms. Please feel free to drop me a comment or message if you have any exciting cruelty free product dupes you’d like to share ! I’m always on the look out for new brands which offer great alternatives.

@malmao replied to your post “if you like makeup what’s your favourite loose powder, face and eye...”
I personally love Urban Decay for my primers.
! this is good news bc i have the hardest time trying to determine which brand for my primers. i have an ud naked palette but that's it.
@solarrift reblogged your post and added:
You are speaking some kind of alien language…..
But the little I do know… I tend toward e.l.f. stuff cause it’s cheap and works just as well as far as I know (obviously haven’t tried everything :P) :)
they are wonderful aren't they? i tried elf eye primer once and the colours showed up so nice but their prices in australia is kinda high. every time i go on the us site i want to cry a little.
@unwinthehart replied to your post “if you like makeup what’s your favourite loose powder, face and eye...”
I mostly use stuff from an italian brand and/or Max Factor, but I love the Stay Matte Loose Powder from Rimmel. The foundation from the same line is also pretty good :)
yes! rimmel works because the closest coles sells rimmel stuff and i've been wondering if i should get the loose powder from it or not. i'll see if they have my shade for foundation as well.

Hello dolls. Today I’ll be review a full face of Revolution (Makeup Revolution) makeup. I purchased all the products on the Revolution website. So let’s get started.
BASE PRODUCTS:
Tumblr media
Revolution Coconut Dream Hydrating Primer ($8 on their website): A                               You get .91 fluid ounces of product in the tube. It’s a nice primer. There is nothing special about it, but it is a sticky primer so it grips foundations nicely. It does not smell like coconut in fact there is no scent to this primer. It’s a white primer. It doesn’t blur pores or fine lines. It’s just a basic primer. I’ll use it up but am unsure if this is a product I will purchase again or not.
Revolution Conceal & Hydrate Foundation ($12 on their website): A+++!!!!                           It comes in 50 shades with 16 shades for deeper skin tones. You get .7 Fluid Ounces of product in this pumped bottle.  The shade I purchased was a spot on match for my skin tone. I was in love with this foundation even before I finished blending it in. This is light weight full coverage foundation. It’s very hydrating a melts into the skin seamlessly. Even though it is a full coverage foundation it leaves the skin looking like skin but better. I only needed 1 pump of this foundation to cover my full face and neck. It does not set down so you do need to set it with powder. It did not emphasize my pores or my fine lines.  Because it is so hydrating you do need to spend a little more time blending it in and a sponge is best for this foundation. This was such a good foundation that I can already see myself reaching for it a ton this year and when I’ve used it all up I will be repurchasing it. I might have to go out on a limb here and say this is the best drug store priced foundation I have ever tried.
Revolution Conceal & Define Supersized Concealer ($10 on their website): A++                   You get .45 fluid ounces in the doe-foot tube. It comes in 24 shades with 10 shades for deeper skin tones. I originally thought I had purchased the Conceal & Hydrate concealer so when this one came I was disappointed. I thought this one was going to be like the Tarte Shape Tape. There are similarities to the Shape Tape…. they both have over sized doe-foot applicators, they are both highly pigmented, with both a little goes a long way, and they are both on the thicker side of concealers. However I will say the Conceal & Define is more hydrating than the Shape Tape, doesn’t settle into fine lines, and doesn’t crease. I didn’t need to add powder (even though I did so I could see if it would go crepey… and it didn’t). I used 3 small dots on both under eyes and that was enough to cover the whole area completely. I didn’t even need color corrector. This concealer covered my dark circles beautifully. This is a concealer I will most certainly be keeping in my rotation and I can already tell I will be repurchasing it when I run out.
Revolution Pro Powder Foundation ($7 on their website): A+++                                           You get .28 ounces in this compact. It comes in 18 shades with 8 shades for deeper skin tones. This powder foundation has high coverage and high pigmentation. If you use a light hand you can use it as a setting powder and if you go in with a heavier hand you get great coverage. This is one a few powder foundations that actually give coverage. It’s finely milled. Mine looks like it would be chalky or have a lot of kick back but it doesn’t, mine just happened to come broken so I had to put it back together and that left a lot of powder dust on the compact. I set my whole face with this foundation this morning and have not had to touch up my makeup at all. I really like this powder foundation a lot.
Revolution Bronzer Reloaded ($6): A++                                                                                     You get .53 ounces of product in this compact. It’s offered in 3 shades. This is a satin finished bronzer but it doesn’t go on super shiny like other baked bronzers do. It has the perfect undertone to warm up the face without looking like you used a bronzer. It’s a lighter coverage bronzer so you may need to go back in with a second layer, like I did, but unlike other satin bronzers it doesn’t add extra shine to the face. I really enjoyed this one a ton and can already tell that I will be reaching for this one a lot this year.
EYE PRODUCTS:
Revolution Re-loaded Basic Mattes ($7 on their website): A+++!!!!                                        You get .6 ounces total in this palette. It’s a 15 pan eye shadow palette. I’ve got to say when I first got this palette I was betting that it was going to bomb. I mean it’s $7 how could could it be right? Boy was I wrong! This is an AMAZING palette!!! The shadows are finely milled and very pigmented. In the pictures above this is just 1 dab of the finger into the palette and 1 finger swipe of each color. There was no kick back in the pans and no fall out on the face. Each shade blended out effortlessly and did not lose pigmentation when buffing the colors into each other. I was so impressed that I stopped doing my makeup and ordered other palettes to try out. I think I like this one more than I like the ELF The New Classic  Palette and that is saying a lot because I haven’t been able to put that one down ever since I purchased it. This is an amazing core palette to own.
Revolution Supreme Pigment Gel Eyeliner ($5 on their website): A+++!!!                          You get .04 ounces of product in this pencil. This eyeliner is so creamy and so pigmented. It’s also the perfect tone of nude for the waterline. It did not skip, did not go on patchy, and I haven’t had to touch up the waterline all day. I am so impressed that I will be ordering a brown and a black as well.
Revolution Pro Define & Fill Micro Brow Pencil ($8 on their website): A+++!!!!                You get .04 ounce of product in the self sharpening pencil. It’s offered in 2 shades. Oh my GOSH!! Dolls…. this is hands down the BEST drug store priced brow pencil I have ever used and after 1 use is my second favorite brow pencil ever!!!! It’s very pigmented, is just the right amount of creamy, doesn’t skip, doesn’t tug at the hairs, doesn’t pill up, doesn’t crack, it’s just perfection! I already ordered a back up. Hands down the stand out product for me of this whole review.
Revolution Pro Volume and Sculpt Brow Gel ($10 on their website): A++                                You get .2 fluid ounces of product in this spooly applicator tube. It comes in 3 colors and a clear. This is a pretty good product. It holds the brows in place without making the brow hairs feel crunchy. When you pull the spooly out there is just the right amount of gel on the applicator. It didn’t smear or transfer. It didn’t lift the brow product underneath. I really like it. I will use it up and probably will repurchase it too.
Revolution The Mascara Revolution ($10 on their website): A+++!!!!! I’m not sure how much product you get in this wand, there isn’t anything on the tube or the website to tell me, but this is a very large mascara. Dolls…. when I tell you I am hooked…. I really mean I am hooked!!! This one is even better than Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black!!!! It’s even better than the Pixi by Petra Lash Booster Mascara! I can already tell I’ll be reaching for this one a ton this year!
CHEEK and LIPS PRODUCTS:
Revolution Blusher Reloaded ($5 on their website): A+++!!!!!                                                You get .26 ounces of product in this compact. It’s offered in 3 shades. This is a full matte blush. It is very pigmented and finely milled. It went on beautifully. There is no patchiness and it’s buttery smooth. The color I purchased is so beautiful! I loved this blush so much that I have already purchased the other 2 shades. It buffed into the skin so well that it looks like I have a healthy flush of color on the skin.
Revolution Highlighter Reloaded ($6 on their website): A+++!!!                                              You get .35 ounces of product in this compact. It’s offered in 4 shades. FINALLY!!! a high shine highlighter that doesn’t have glitter!!! This is a very metallic highlighter. I love this highlighter so darn much!!! It didn’t emphasize texture in my skin. I went in with 1 tap of the brush and I got high coverage with it. This isn’t the type of highlighter that you can go in with a light hand and get a subtle glow, this is definitely a high shine product. I loved it so much I have already purchased a back up. Highly recommend this highlighter.
For left to right the colors are Naked, Control, and Featured…..Going in order from left to right I will review them now ….
Revolution Powder Matte Lipstick ($7 on their website): A+                                                     There is no info on how much product you get. It’s offered in 12 shades. It has a hard to place scent to it, it’s a pleasant scent, I know I have smelled this scent before but I can’t place it.  This is a comfortable matte. It’s not that long wearing. I have had to reapply several times today, but it’s so pretty that I don’t even mind. I’m on the fence on whether or not I will purchase more of these lipsticks, but I will definitely use this lip color more.
Revolution Matte Lipstick ($5 on their website): C-                                                              There is no info on how much product you get. It’s offered in 42 shades. This is a comfortable matte lipstick, however it goes on patchy and streaky and needs a lot of finessing to get full coverage on the lips. It’s best used with a gloss topping it to hide the areas of the lip where it just refuses to adhere to. The color I purchased is beautiful so this one was a let down for me. I will use up the one I have but will not be purchasing anymore.
Revolution Sheer Lip ($4 on their website): A                                                                          This is another product that doesn’t say how much product you get. It’s offered in 42 shades. This is a very glossy lip product. It’s a thicker formula with lots of slip to it. A few pats on the lip is all that is needed. It’s very comfortable and has scent that reminds me of starburst candies. I like it… and do plan on purchasing other shades.

Final Thoughts…
For the brand as a whole I would rate them an A++. They have super great quality products at an affordable rate. I have to say I took a long time to pull the trigger on purchasing any of these products because I thought they wouldn’t be that good. All I knew about the brand is that they had a lot of products that were dupes for higher priced brands. I thought they wouldn’t be any good. I was very surprised at just how much I enjoyed working with these products. I think this must be my favorite purchase of the year so far. (I know it’s 2020 now, however I purchased the products in 2019… so it is my favorite 2019 purchase.) My top 3 favorite products of the line are The Brow Pencil, the blush, and the highlighter.
Well that’s all for now dolls. See ya tomorrow when I review a full face of Flower Beauty products. Until then, remember save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.
XOXO
Revolution (Makeup Revolution) Full Face Review Hello dolls. Today I'll be review a full face of Revolution (Makeup Revolution) makeup. I purchased all the products on the Revolution website.

Another older BH haul (from back in February/March) plus a powder update. One BH haul left to post after this, then it’s all new boxes, hauls, gifts, etc. Included in this haul:  Supernova (which is in a GORGEOUS box), Galaxy Chic, and Nude Rose Sculpt and Glow; the free gifts: Blushed To Go 4 color blush palette, Foil Eyes To Go 6 Color palette, and a travel brush set. The bottom photo is a Fit Me Matte + Poreless Pressed Powder in the compact for the Urban Decay De-Slick Pressed Powder.
Let’s get to some reviews!
Supernova 18 Color Baked Eyeshadow Palette and Galaxy Chic Baked Eyeshadow Palette :: I’m reviewing these together because they’re the same type of shadow palettes just with different colors. I rarely use these (they’re very bright and shiny, so too much as total look palettes), but I really like them. They don’t have much pigmentation without primer or base, but they’re great with primer or base and used over other shadows. Lots of shine, and they can be used either wet or dry. These are among the better palettes at BH and I use them to give an extra pop to looks made with other shadows. The only letdown is the packaging: while the Supernova is gorgeous, both are cardboard, sturdy cardboard, but cardboard none the less.
Blushed To Go 4 Color Blush Palette :: While BH blushes are generally okay, they aren’t necessarily mind-blowing. The colors are nice, though two of them are too bright/light for me, but they’re powdery and apply a bit patchy despite great pigmentation. These are in my ProjectBeautyShare.org box.
Nude Rose Sculpt and Glow Palette :: While  this had colors close to what I look for in highlights, blush, and bronzers for me, it was pretty...eh. Nothing really impressive, though not particularly bad either. The color pay off was okay, though the yellow and pink were not usable for me. I just never really reached for it. This was packaged in a tin type box, which I really liked. It ended up going to one of my girls, and I think she passed it on to a friend, so it apparently didn’t impress her either.
Foil Eyes To Go 6 Color Palette :: I got rid of this in a declutter and gave it to one of my daughters, but now think I should have kept it. lol The colors and the shimmer are beautiful, the pigmentation was decent, and it was perfect to drop into my purse. The only problem with it is that there are no mattes. As much as the colors work together for one look, this much shine in one look is a bit over the top even for me. The packaging was pretty standard drugstore plastic, maybe a little thinner than most now days.
Face Essential To Go 3 Piece Brush Set :: Bh has decent brushes: they don’t lose hairs, are generally soft and suitable for whatever purpose they’re created for. I’ve kept these brushes, with one in my purse for my powder, one in my purse to touch up eye shadow, and the third in my brush collection in the bathroom. They’re compact and sturdy. Not favorites, but great to keep in my purse to use as I need. I didn’t keep the roll case as I use my own makeup bags for my travel stuff.
And my powder update. In my last post, I included two powders I was trying, the first of which (from elf) made it into the ProjectBeautyShare.org box almost immediately. I had given the Wet n Wild Photofocus Pressed Powder a pass at the time. Then there was yesterday. The powder lasted maybe an hour to an hour and a half in the humidity combined with my oily nose. I was reapplying A LOT. So went looking for a new one and picked up  Fit Me Matte + Poreless Pressed Powder, which on sale was about the same price as the WnW.  I lucked out that the store (which only had 2 shades, the translucent and the tan that I picked up) had a shade that would work for me winter or summer. Over my pore filler and medium coverage liquid foundation/moisturizer mix, I can't say it blurred the larger pores well, though it did help with most of them and did reduce/blur the texture under my eyes and along my cheeks. Better, it lasted longer than the WnW by a couple hours, reusing it to reduce shine on my nose didn't cake it up except between the brows (and that area is a problem with everything I use, so not holding the buildup there against it), and didn't build up in the crevices around my nose. I moved it into the De-Slick compact so I can carry it with me in a pretty compact (the De-Slick is in a baggy atm, and might be used to help set my concealer after this; will try it out and see how well it works).
So there you go; more things domy tried, and most with a thumbs up. And I have to admit, I actually want the new sister to Supernova and Galaxy Chic, the Solar Flare palette.

Candy Girl Purge Costume 2020- My Review
This is a post on my costume of the candy girls, as they would like to call it from purge election year. It's the last movie and I don't want to give an exploit exploited skills candy in the beginning, and she comes back for everybody to come, get her cane. This is the whole makeup and hair that I was doing. I'm going to include pictures of the full entire outfit along with the makeup and hair and how I look with it: yeah let the voiceover take it over hey guys.
My Makeup Tutorial For Candy Girl Outfit
So first thing: I'm doing I'm putting my gray contacts. I picked these up at my local news. My store, but if you go to Parris Island calm, they have a parachute, but it's more expensive than it is for where I am. I paid like fourteen dollars so axis. I'm gonna put in um some eye drops because my scent dry. So then, after that, I just wanted to do my eyebrows and if you guys want an eye bucket or I'll pull it up, just leave a comment below they miss my eyebrows. I did not have a much Mac. Concealer left side is such my elf palette and uses the cheap concealer the powder concealer.
They gave you, but it was not working out. That'S an effort. Let me see how much I can get out of my Mac concealer. So I took whatever was left in the tube tried, my best to go whatever it was out to conceal my brows.

Eyes, Lips & Face Touchup for the Candy girl Costume
We'll switch to my eyes lips and face palette, and I don't know that I just remember ago, I have the medical tape. So why not put that, on my face to get a better crease better, like slice cut, so that's a cup of epitome I face and they use the darkest shade of my power just to go over the whole thing. Now I put little bit black in my creasing on the side of my eyes and then I put a tiny bit of gold in the corners and I just you're seeing me blended outright the moment so now what you do is I have some black eyeliner And on top of black eyeliner, I had to add some glitter and then now you can see me taking it off and look at that. Oh my boy, so now missing the price and fake eyelashes, and this is a struggle. I'm gonna find this choice that struggles.
Then I'm still applying some mascara, oh my god, I'm in love with that mascara. So much now I have some skin cream and it's the limit of my job supplies on my cheeks. Along with that a face primer. I just didn't use reason being I'm going to take this awful right after I just did it for the post and you have nice makeup and on that foundation and yeah, I'm just applying it at night. That'S how I polish my neck every day because it takes to dab that out way too much and now I know what you guys are gonna say it's not gonna match my skin tone, but it doesn't so now he's trying to swap my face and Guess what it was not working off and doing nothing for me.
Look at that face, so it's now on to highlight I'm so hyper with us. You can't see the method to this. Well, for my colleague in the whip kick - and this is in what Kay - and I just chose this color for this - look because, like the girl in the movie, I'm sorry but she's a bitch. So you have to have that. Give up that bitchy ride and that look at yo. It sees a whole look together and now. Moving on to my, I said: okay, first off guys like but an ass, this doesn't let shrinkage fool you! My hair is typically long.
How i do my hair for the Candy girl look
Do not let shrinkage fool you at all, but now you still see me put my hair literally into poof's and or even that, like one of them is not gonna. Be like that point in the center square. Oh, my gosh, not my best work but, like reason being, is that like things right off afterward, doesn't need to be straight now, but here's the finished. Look! That'S another video! Thank you so much for watching, as I said like subscribe and comment along with share the video on top of that as well as including that I still never got my recording equipment.

From 0 to 10 in less than $100 (preferably)
I've never owned a skin care product beyond a bar of soap, unless chapstick counts. I know all of nothing about skin care or beauty in general, which is why this blog exists, to quietly reblog people who know more than I do (and pictures of flowers, or something.) I never had killer acne or anything, even as a teenager, but my skin never really got better either. So for shits and giggles, I'm going from Dove soap to that crazy Korean 10-step skin care routine to see if it makes a difference re. the quality of my skin.
Okay, so maybe I won't hit every step. And because I'm not a millionaire, I wont be able to buy every product at once. But I was at Target the other day and I stood in the skin care aisle for 25 minutes trying to figure out what all this stuff even is, and eventually I picked up a handful of things which I'll document with lil' baby reviews here, so I remember what I tried already and liked/disliked.
Tumblr media
Pacifica Cactus Water Micellar Cleansing Tonic 8 fl oz. - $8.79 @ Target
I actually like this. Not much of a smell (and smell is of course very important, because scents are lovely and make me happy) but it does a good job of cleaning off the hell moisturizer I'll post later. It works. It's nice. It makes my skin tingle.
Would buy again? Yes, but not right away. I have my eye on that Neogen Green Tea Foam Cleanser at Soko Glam, but this is a good inexpensive alternative.
Tumblr media
SheaMoisture Matcha Green Tea And Probiotics Soothing Toner & Hydrating Mist  4.5floz - $9.99 @ Target
Oh look, toner. I was told it was important and helpful. The internet seemed to agree on this. So I looked for something that said toner on it, and it also said hydrating, which seemed like a good thing. Wasn’t sure about the mist bit so I still apply it with a cotton ball, but I think it’s decent - again, not sure how to really tell if it’s working. I wish I could review this more accurately, but that would involve knowing more about skin care than I do. I think I like it.
Would buy again? Probably not. It’s fine and all, but I think I want to go for something a little fancier in the future. I’d re-buy it if I couldn’t find anything better. I’ll take all your toner recommendations under $20!
Tumblr media
SheaMoisture Matcha Green Tea And Probiotics Soothing Relief Eye Cream .5oz - $10.99 @ Target
Evidence I need to learn to read fl oz amounts, the box this comes in is HUGE compared to the product, so I was a little annoyed. I’m honestly not sure how I feel about this product because I have no idea what to expect from eye cream. It’s very thick and paste-y (not sure if that’s standard with eye cream) but it absorbs nicely. It hasn’t been long enough for me to see if it’s helping, but this was my NEED product because my eyes always look tired and miserable. Will report back in a month or so. I really should have taken a before picture...
Would buy again? Maybe. Ask again later. It’s probably another product I’ll go a little fancier on next time since it’s important for me personally.
Tumblr media
SheaMoisture 100% Virgin Coconut Oil Illuminating Moisturize & Primer  2oz - $12.99 @ Target
Fuck this moisturizer. Not because it’s bad - no, it moisturizes just fine. Leaves me feeling a bit goopy and it makes my upper lip sweat for some reason, but I’m sure it’s a perfectly good moisturizer. No. fuck this moisturizer because I didn’t realize that Daily Glow means “Look like a goddamn elf until you cleanse this shit off only to put it right the hell back on.” Apparently there is glitter in this. Nothing on the bottle indicated that I’d look like a cross between a Thalmor ambassador and Data from Star Trek but God help you if you apply a little too much because you will absolutely look like that guy from Twilight on a sunny day. I can’t comment on its priming ability yet because I still own no makeup (baby steps, people) but seriously if you want to look like a person back the hell off this nightmare in a jar.
Would buy again? Lol.
That’s it so far, guys. I am so, so new to all this beauty business so if you have advice or recommendations I’d love the help!

I'm in love with this palette from #bhcosmetics the foiled palette..its so creamy blendable pigmented and gorgeous. Only 8.50 and its beautiful.. I highly recommend. Also tried the sample of their foundation in light olive actually matched my skin pretty close and it's very light and buildable. Tried the #elf primer and plumper. Primer is great soft and smooth. The plumper is pretty good tingles when put on and smells like cinnamon and eucalyptus..not sure if my lips look plumper but it's nice and makes your lips soft. And only 3 dollars..I loved all my new products today..thumbs up from me!!! Yall really need the palette..its just so beautiful. After much experimenting and researching (and spending) I wanted to share my go-to beauty products that are vegan and cruelty free (and most of them relatively inexpensive). Whether you are vegan or not PLEASE PLEASE do not buy products from brands that test on animals. Do a little research (this blog post will get you started!) because no animal’s suffering and torture is worth a lipstick. The more we show we care about this issue through what we buy, the more inclined companies will be to change.
First thing’s first: don’t throw away all your non-vegan make up. As with clothes, it’s more wasteful to just chuck it than to use it up and get your money’s worth. As you start to replace things, just put red crosses over all these brands and products that test on animals. E.g. L’Oreal. They sell to China, thus they test on animals so see ya.
Tumblr media
Here’s the lowdown of the current rules:
The use of animals to test cosmetics products or their ingredients is banned in the UK and all other member states of the European Union.
(However, millions of animals a year are still tested on for medicinal purposes and in universities).
This law is all well and good, but products are still tested on animals in the US and China. In fact, in China, it is a legal requirement for the products to be tested on animals before they are sold. So companies that sell to China will test on animals. You are still being faced with a choice to buy ethically almost all the time but you probably didn’t even realise (these big companies are very sneaky).
Some brands that are too big, like Unilever who own basically everything, ADMIT to testing on animals. Other brands will be vague and not give clear answers, probably because they too test on animals but try to find a loophole. But their vagueness is just suspicious. If that’s all you can see them saying avoid these brands too.
There are some brands, such as Lush, that not only avoid ingredients tested on animals but actively seek to end it.
The controversy for me lies in they having products that still include beeswax, carmine, and casein (a protein from cows milk). I’m waiting for the day Lush goes all vegan. Because I would argue a brand is not 100% cruelty free (even though they don’t test on animals) if they still use stuff like beeswax which to obtain involves the exploitation of bees. See the full list of animal derived ingredients here if you want to familiarise yourself with what to look out for. Carmine for example, has multiple names such as crimson lake, natural red 4 and E120 so is something I’ve found quite difficult to spot.
Tumblr media
It’s okay to make mistakes.  As you’re probably a bit confused right now anyway- there’s so many aspects to think about, so many products and brands to avoid that it almost seems not worth bothering. But I promise it is! It seems overwhelming at first but what a thing to boast to yourself: I do not partake in supplying funds for companies to test on guinea-pigs.
Tumblr media
so cute!! I love u
What is more, there are still loads of options! Just because you can’t buy that Estee Lauder foundation anymore, doesn’t mean there’s not a great cruelty free and vegan alternative. Same goes for toiletries and hair products (I’ll do a separate posts on shampoos and conditioners etc- this is long already and we haven’t even got to the make up yet haha). I still buy products from brands that are not completely vegan but still cruelty free (obvs) just because it’s cheap/ it suits my skin type/ variation etc. I’m currently in the process of finding my favourite vegan make up from vegan brands that I’ll probably use again and again during the rest of my life. More and more brands are jumping on the vegan bandwagon though so keep a lookout.
Cruelty Free Kitty is a great resource.
Just google a specific product and that usually gives you a straight forward answer.
Also PETA has several useful lists which are easy to navigate.
Bookmark these resources. Look for the leaping bunny which means it’s cruelty free on the back of products. Check if the brand itself tests on animals at all or sells to China. See if there’s a vegan alternative if it isn’t labelled as suitable for vegans.
Here’s a real life scenario for you. I’ve recently been wanting a new eye shadow palette for my birthday but when I was researching (to help my family so they don’t have to), all these brands that boast about their vegan range fell short at EYE SHADOW. Weirdly, even other blogs that listed for example the ABH palettes as vegan were not correct because when I looked at the ingredients it said it contained Carmine??? I love red eye shadow, it’s so autumnal and warm, but they all seem to have boiled down crushed beetles in??? UM WHO SANCTIONS THIS?? If companies stated more clearly **contains dead bugs btw** I don’t think people would be as convinced by their sales pitches, but look at that pigmentation! I’m not, for sure.
This research took a bit of work. And I’m happy to do so for my own benefit as well as sharing my findings to make it easier for readers of this blog! But it shouldn’t have been as complicated as it was. I’ve been looking for vegan products for almost two years now and the information is still not clear. It is a current and controversial issue but one we as the consumers can definitely put pressure on.
Tumblr media
On a more positive note, a good place to start is Superdrug. Superdrug is the superior place to visit on the high-street for beauty products – and great for on a budget! I always end up scrolling on Beauty Bay and Feel Unique but never committing to the extortionate priced items in my basket. Maybe the quality is slightly better than drugstore brands, but not £15-difference-in-price better. Instead I spend lots at Superdrug (but gotta get them deals!).
Boycott Boots, here is why Superdrug is super super:
It has a selection of great drugstore brands; you can notice a difference between a Huda pallet and a Makeup Revolution but I still get compliments on my pink eye shadow from Makeup Revolution (unfortunately turns out this palette has carmine in sigh, I tried and some of their other palettes are vegan).
THEY HAVE A COMPLETELY VEGAN AND CRUELTY FREE MAKE UP RANGE and the products are actually very reliable and good value for money. No messing about here, thank you Superdrug you’re my hero x
Everything else i.e. not make up in their own brand range is cruelty free and almost all is vegan (I’ve found some foot cream with honey in it) and the great thing is that everything is labelled clearly (!!!)
STUDENT DISCOUNT- Unidays and NUS, get on it.
A BEAUTY CARD- gotta get them points because then you get free stuff.
Thursdays you get all these extra treats if you shop in store (see ya there).
And there’s always some deal or another like 3 for 2 or get this thing free and I’m like yes this gives me an excuse to stock up on everything because I’m saving money in the long run.
e.l.f.- another completely vegan and cruelty free brand exclusively sold in Superdrug stores. It is so liberating being able to buy everything and not have to check. And I really rate most Elf products.
Any more questions or comments feel free to share! Even if you still eat meat and/or dairy and don’t want to change that part of your life, using cosmetics and toiletries that contribute to suffering is completely unnecessary and switching will still make a difference! So (finally) here are some places to get you started! I hope I’ve convinced you to do the kind and ethical thing ❤
Tumblr media
I’ve linked most of the products to Superdrug so if you fancy a make up haul you can just use Superdrug (note, student discount is not available online cry). All of these are products that come from cruelty free brands and are vegan, even if not all products from that particular brand are vegan.
Face
Primer
e.l.f. Mineral Face Primer
Let’s start with the basics. I rate the elf primers. Affordable and do the job well. There are plenty of variations to suit different skin types and for different occasions. The Mineral Face Primer is my favourite at the moment.
Foundation
Gosh Foundation Drops 30ml Ivory 002
Okay I’m still struggling to find THE love of my life (foundation-wise and real life lol) but this one comes pretty close. I love GOSH products, the quality is just above a lot of the other drugstore brands but not all of them are vegan 😦
This foundation buffs very nicely and is just the right amount of coverage! It is fairly long-wearing too when combined with a primer and setting spray/powder
Concealer
B. Flawless Concealer Duo N1/C2
This one is okay- it’s got a creamy texture an the ability to blend two shades and is fine if you put foundation over the top. But I have terrible dark circles under my eyes an I just need something a bit stronger.
So am still looking for a banging vegan concealer, hit me up if you got any suggestions.
Powder
GOSH Velvet Touch Primer & Setting Powder – Transparent
This is a versatile product- can be used as base and/or setting powder. It gives a nice finish though and keeps everything in place. The flaw with loose powder is that they are not the easiest to use.
Highlighter
e.l.f. Baked Highlighter Moonlight Pearls 704
Lovely lil highlighter! I feel like it’s quite subtle so I go a bit crazy on the layers but for a fiver, it adds great dimension and lasts forever.
Bronzer
I Heart Revolution Bronzer Love Hot Summer 5g
I loveee this bronzer! I use to adore the Hula bronzer from Benefit but alas, Benefit needs to go in the burn pile. I have gone through some bad bronzers since, but this is just perfect for my fair complexion!
Lips
(I do not suit lipstick so barely wear anything other than my Lush lip balm sorry this has one product, will let you know if I find any more gems)
e.l.f. Matte Lip Colour Tea Rose
This is like a pencil lipstick, it’s a sort of hybrid but I actually am quite a fan! Nice to add a bit of subtle colour and complete a look without being too in your face, or drying.
Eyes
Mascara
Too Faced BETTER THAN SEX MASCARA
The pink one, and top right shows the brush. Yes I should probably make a joke how this mascara is better than sex (but let’s be honest, it’s not) but it is my favourite mascara for sure! So dramatic, coal black, and actually makes my eyes look bigger! It does flake a bit towards the end of the day, but the mascara itself lasts so long! I buy roughly one a year.
The gold mascara is Gaya Cosmetics Vegan Mascara for Sensitive Eyes.
It was a present and I actually really like it! It’s the opposite to my Better Than Sex mascara, it lengthens lashes and is a bit less dramatic for everyday. It also doesn’t flake as much. The brush is in the top left photo. The two mascaras combined, create the ultimate dramatic eyelashes.
Palettes
Okay story time: so I was going to include my Urban Decay Naked 2 Pallet here. It’s a go-to for nights out and the best pigmentation palette I have. I got it for my birthday last year and I specifically remember asking for a vegan eye shadow palette. And I specifically remember my Mum saying she double checked with the lady who sold it to her in Debenhams or whatever that it was definitely vegan. And up to five minutes ago I thought it was! I had done light research a year a go, couldn’t find anything to convince me otherwise, it was cruelty free after all.  BUT IT’S NOT VEGAN! Urban Decay is a cruelty free brand but is owned by L’Oreal so its parent company isn’t even cruelty free so belittles its cruelty free status. On the UD website, it says all eye shadow in the palette MAY CONTAIN CARMINE. And now, I just feel like my life’s a lie, how does a brand get this far and so popular that almost every girl has one but people aren’t deterred by not only the dead beetles, but the brand’s laid-back attitude to using animal derived ingredients?
Also whilst partaking in this vigorous research for this post, I have reason to believe my other fave palette, Makeup Revolution Flawless 4, isn’t vegan. I bought this palette fairly recently and although the pigmentation isn’t great unless you add water or hairspray to your brush (though hairspray can dry the eye shadow out), I do remember looking up whether it is vegan. Superdrug again is extremely helpful because it has a vegan filter (as do an increasing amount of websites thank you). But I thought I would mention this here to admit I make mistakes. And sometimes my good intentions don’t get come to fruition.
Instead I shall include my Lily Lolo Laid Bare Eye PAlette.
These are lovely quality creamy eye shadows for a shimmery every day. The downside is the individual eye shadows are kinda small (but portable!)
e.l.f. Matte Eyeshadow Palette Mad For Matte
Elf classic mattes good for a basic look and the base of a more complex one if you combine with another palette. A must-have!
Eyeliner
Supercat
The one time you’re allowed to go to Boots is for Soap and Glory. Yes, their products are pretty fab, and they are cruelty free. This eyeliner, the ultimate of all eyeliner pens. is also vegan (THANK GOODNESS). 10/10 feel like a super cat.
Lashes
Extreme caution here!!! Some of the most popular lashes are made from mink who are kept on fur farms. Elf do cruelty free lashes (but I’ve found them not to be so good).
I tend not to buy lashes because they are SO expensive and would rather invest in a good mascara.
Just be careful. Check.
Brows
No competition, brows is where I justly splash out a little and get the Dipbrow Pomade by Anastasia Beverly Hills. It is God-like and worth the hype. The only bad thing is that it dries out quite easily. Sometimes I have to add a little water or setting spray to my brush to get it going.
Setting Sprays
Can you tell I’m a fan of elf?
I’m not sure how well setting sprays actually work but I wanted to try one. I think I can notice a difference but I prefer a good powder to set my make up. Sometimes I double up. Also word to the wise, apply after eye makeup has completely dried.
Perfume
Eden Perfumes
I’ll do a proper post about this fab company but just buy from Eden Perfumes. Perfume can contain some nasty ingredients- Eden Perfumes are all vegan and not tested on animals. They make dupes of popular brands (who can afford the eye-watering £50 perfume of Marc Jacobs bottles anyway?) that smell almost exactly the same! I love No. 309 Daisy and No.470, a Tom Ford dupe. They have two stores, one in Brighton and one in London so worth a visit where you can try everything!
Even better, you can send your bottles back to get them refilled at a cheaper price whilst also saving on waste yay!
Brushes
Like most people, I have just collected a random assortment of brushes over the years. When buying brushes make sure the hairs are synthetic. I really like Eco Tools though.
Also Superdrug has an own brand brush cleaner for those who need a good, cheap brush cleaner!
As always, please share any of your finds! As you can probably tell, I don’t venture outside of Superdrug much but I am most willing to do on a recommendation!

Vegan and Cruelty Free Make Up Favourites After much experimenting and researching (and spending) I wanted to share my go-to beauty products that are vegan and cruelty free (and most of them relatively inexpensive).

Yes yes yes I know it’s summer and most people…. well everyone usually does bright colorful or natural makeup for summer, but last night I just had the urge to do something dark. I really had no idea what I was doing just started playing with my makeup and this happened. I feel like the best looks happen when you’re just messing around. I loved it so much I just had to share it with you guys.
Base: Well since it was 11 o’clock at night I just put some elf daily hydration on since I wasn’t planning on wearing this look for a long time. ($8 Wal-Mart)
Eyes: First off for a primer use I used Maybelline New York Dream concealer stick and blended it on my whole eyelid. ($4.74 Wal-Mart) Then I used my Balm  shadow palette Meet Matt(e) Trimony ($42 Kohl’s) shade Matt Lin to set the concealer on my lid.
Then I started blending in the shade Matt Lopez in my crease very lightly to form my crease. I then went straight in with Matt Kumar in the crease and really started blending it in it’s a very pigmented color so make sure you blend that in good. I put Matt Ahmed in my lid and if you do wanted the black more pigmented and way darker I would put a gel liner on the lid first then on top the black shadow. Make sure to take the time to blend these two shades they are both deep shades and if not blended probably might look like a black eye. I was just gonna stop there with the eyes but I felt like I needed a lighter color in there so I took a gold shimmer and put it right in the middle of the lid be sure to do just the middle it gives a nice effect. I added all the colors to my lower lash line blended that out and then added mascara. I do have lash extensions so I didn’t add anything to that but I would recommend some falsies so the dark colors don’t make your eyes look too small.
Face: For foundation I used Kat Von D Lock It ($35 Sephora) in the shade 53 medium. I love this foundation so much it covers up everything including my freckles! For my undereye highlight I went back to my Maybelline concealer and blended that with my beauty sponge. For my contour I’ve really been into cream bronzers and I’ve really been liking the Covergirl Trublend Fixstick in the shade deep. ($7.44 Wal-Mart) I know everyone has heard this a million times but I literally make a big 3 on each side of my face and used my beauty blender to blend it in.
Lips: For my lips I started off with a pink nude since my eyes were so dark I didn’t want my lips to be too much. That just didn’t look right to me I took some photos and just something was off. So I went outside my comfort zone and used Jeffreestar liquid lipstick in Scorpio ($18) and to me it looked perfect that is exactly what it was missing.
So now I would usually set my face with a misting spray but when I finished it was 1 in the morning so I of course didn’t want it on too long haha.
Let me know how you like this look! What lipstick color would you choose? Have you tried this palette? I use it almost every single day.
Thank you so much for reading!
Love,
Megan

FIRST IMPRESSIONS! NYX & ELF
so after having used my new e.l.f and nyx products for the past few days, i think i can officially give a first impressions review on them! here we go!
elf makeup mist and set spray - i really love this setting spray. it’s such a refreshing feeling when i spray it on my face after doing my makeup, and i definitely feel like my makeup lasts waaay longer with it on.
elf baked highlighter - i got this in the shade ‘moonlight pearls’ and at first i really didn’t like it. i could barely get the color to come off on a brush, but it would come off on my finger. i thought maybe i was using the wrong brush for it, so instead of using a generic no-brand brush, i tried my sephora powder brush, which actually worked a little better. it wasn’t perfect, but it was better. wearing it today, i could definitely tell i had managed to get some of it on my face, as opposed to yesterday and the day before. i decided to read reviews on the website today, and people mentioned there being a bit of a top layer of coating to break through or rub off, so i’m going to keep using this everyday and hope it gets even better because the color is gorgeous and i want to LOVE it. but for now, i like it.
elf contouring brush - where has this brush been my entire life? i’m obsessed. it makes me feel like a contouring professional, when prior to buying this brush, i just used a generic no-name-brand angled contour brush and hoped for the best, which often made my face look muddy. this elf contour brush is sturdy, it’s densely packed, and the perfect size, in my opinion. it creates a nice, sharp contour line exactly where i want it, and i feel like i have the perfect control over it because of the short bristles. LOVE this brush, everyone needs it!!!
elf hydrating face primer - i wouldn’t say i LOVE this primer yet, but so far i just.. am pretty neutral about it. i definitely think it helps my foundation go on a little better than it did before, but i can’t help but think it feels a bit oily, rather than hydrating. i really wanted to like this product a lot, but the oily texture and feeling on my skin may be enough to warrant me trying out a different primer from them next time, or trying to find a different brand altogether for a decent drugstore primer. any suggestions?
elf (instant lift) brow pencil - the reason i put ‘instant lift’ like that is because the brow pencil i purchased does not say it’s the instant lift one, however it looks like and is packaged exactly like that one on their website, plus it’s the only brow pencil duo like that listed on their site, so i’m not sure if maybe they just changed the packaging or the name or whatever, but whatever. i got the shade neutral brown and i really really love this product. i don’t know if i would call it a pencil, since it’s more like a crayon texture i feel like, but it was easy to apply, makes my eyebrows look fierce, apparently (i had a customer even tell me this one day while wearing it), and it’s really easy to blend. the ONLY downside i would say to this product is that once you use it after a while, depending how you use it i suppose, the tip becomes more flat instead of pointed and there’s no way to sharpen it to make a sharper line. it still works fine, though, and it would be my go-to-forever brow product if i didn’t have a ton more brow products to try in my lifetime. but this is definitely a winner for me this mini-haul.
nyx liquid suede cream lipstick - i got the shade ‘alien’ which is a nice matte black, because i’ve really wanted to try out a black lipstick and i know people have been raving about these lipsticks. i tried it on when i got home from target, and i liked it, but i didn’t love it. not yet, at least. maybe it’s just because i’ve found that black, or dark lipsticks in general, are harder to control and if you make a mistake and have no concealer around, it’s pretty noticeable, but i hope to get the hang of it. i haven’t worn it again yet, because i’ll admit i’m a little afraid to go in public wearing black lipstick, but i definitely intend to try wearing it more often. regarding the formula however, i like it, and i definitely think i want to buy more shades in the liquid suede range.
nyx gotcha covered concealer - i was using a concealer before this that i had received in an ipsy bag and it was thick and kind of hard to blend, which is totally the opposite of this concealer. i love this concealer. it does what it’s supposed to, and brightens under my eyes as well. i had a little bit of a blemish spot developing this morning, so i wanted to see if the concealer would actually fully conceal it and to my surprise, it did! i definitely want to try their other concealers as well, but this one is amazing.
okay guys, those were my first impressions of my mini target haul the other night. i hope at least one person enjoyed this and got something useful out of it. let me know: do you have any elf or nyx products you highly highly recommend i try out?

Hi everyone,
So December is over and I am not going to repeat how quick it passed and how we cannot believe its 2017 already, as I am sure that I am not the only one who is aware of this!
I have loved so many products and have tried out so many new ones too.
But the products I shall be mentioning are all products I have used throughout the month of December, ones that I love.
These are all makeup products.
Would you like to see a non makeup related blog post? Let me know in the comments down below!
My December 2016 Favourites are –
The Beauty Treats Roses Eyeshadow Palette
I received this palette in a Sweet Sparkle Box. I didn’t think I would still use this palette however I have and did!
The shades are all so pretty and from the photo you could see which are my favourite! I love that dusty pink/red it is gorgeous especially loved using it during the Christmas Season! The shadows all blend well and even though there is fall out it is something I can deal with!
ELF Blush – Tickled Pink
This is a fave oldie I have had for years! I love this blush, it is so subtle and natural. I love adding it to an all natural makeup look, you know to just add colour to the face. I miss ordering from elf, it was such a good and reasonable brand. I really must check again to see if the shipping rates have lowered, but last time I checked they were sky high!
Max Factor Smooth Miracle Primer
I love this Primer, I don’t really understand primers sometimes, but I can see that this does something! It really helps minimise my pores, reduces shine and creates a lovely base for my foundation and the rest of my makeup look!
Max Factor Miracle Match Blur & Nourish Foundation
This goes hands in hands with the primer. I have tried the primer with other foundations, however I never tried this foundation with other primers. The primer as I said really sets a nice base, and the foundation settles so well with it. I love the coverage that it has, it also lasts long and yes there is some shine after a few hours, but nothing a little powder can even it out!
Rimmel London Clear Complexion Transparent Powder
This is a monthly favourite. I used to love the Rimmel London stay matte powder however I now switched to this one. I feel this is less heavier and more gentle on the skin. I love setting my under eyes and eyelids as well with this powder. And who wouldn’t love it for its inexpensive price!
Essence Get Big Lashes Volume Curl Mascara
This is an oldie too and I absolutely love it. The wand is just good enough to hit all them lashes! It doesn’t transfer on the lid and creates such nice volumed lashes!
City Color Highlight Trio Palette
This highlight palette I have found myself to levitate to a lot recently. I also got this from my Sweet Sparkle box! So yes thanks to the Sweet Sparkle box I have found new items that I adore!
As you can see from the photo I LOVE those 2 lightest shades, I like mixing them in together to create that natural highlight glow!
Milani Matte Lipstick in Naked
I have been loving this lipstick for work, for running errands, going to appointments; basically for an everyday makeup look that is natural and quick! This just gives the right amount of pink shade to my lip. The formula is all matte and lasts for a while too. Yes of course you will need to reapply it after eating as it does brush off.
Essence XXXL Longlasting Velvet Matte Lipgloss in Silky Red
This is such a cute lipstick. I actually got this at the Essence event I attended with my friend Christabel and she actually got two of these. She was so nice as to give me one and I thank her for that! The formula of this lipstick is so nice and creamy. Yes you need to reapply it constantly throughout the day as it is not long lasting however it gives the loveliest of shades. That pinky red! Also it smells like a vanilla cupcake!
Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip in Point Zero
This was one of the lipsticks Kathleen Lights made! I love this it is such a lovely dusty brown perfect for autumn/winter. I guess if you are used to pinks everyday, this would be different. The formula of the satin lips is amazing and lasts long too!
So those were my December favourites, what were yours?
Thank you so much for reading!!
Love Kezia
xoxo
