An awakening at Manali.

Travelling is one of the best things I have inherited from my family. In the wake of difficult situations, they don’t fail to travel. They believe life is too short and we must travel instead of cribbing about it. I have travelled a lot of solo trips that usually ranged from 4 to 5 days. Pretty long ones! The trip to Manali was one of the most important trips of my life. For me, it was a spiritual journey as I was trying to overcome a traumatic life experience of losing someone dear to me. Every trip is life-defining, and on this trip, I learnt one of the most important lessons— “One must keep going in life despite the hurdle. Explore the talents and side hustles. Do not stop. No. Don’t. It will just add a pause to the practice. “ When I reached Manali, the view was so extraordinary. The snow-capped Himalayan peaks and forests full of deodar, pine and rhododendron trees were grabbing my attention, and on another side, the pain of loss was caving me. It was a four-day trip. For the first two days, I stayed in a hotel room. But on the third day, my room service recommended I visit one shop downstairs as they prepare yummy ‘parathas’. I was reluctant to go, and in my monologue, I asked myself, “What is stopping you?” There was no answer. I just sat for another 3 hours when my stomach grumbled loudly. I called the housekeeping service, and they informed me that the staff couldn’t come because he was stuck in traffic. I was in dire need of food, so I went downstairs and tried the parathas at the recommended shop.

Yes, it was tasty! While I munched the parathas, I noticed the scene outside and saw the beautiful Beas river flowing next to the shop. I was so inspired that I immediately took my phone and clicked the scenery. The food was delicious, so I thanked the paratha wala and went to my room. While looking at the photo, I realised being in a beautiful place, I must leave my sorrows behind and live this moment and explore the area. So, there was no stopping. I visited Solang Valley, Himalaya Niyamgmapa Buddhist Temple and The Manali Castle.

Though at times, a question often arises in my mind, why will someone read my story? Well, I never got an answer because writing is my quest. I feel that the audience at large can connect with me. So, this post is my personal experience. Maybe my story inspires you to feel different.

My First Travel Solo Story to Boracay Island🌴🏝🐚🏖⛱️🌊

In 2017, I embarked on my first solo travel adventure to the picturesque Boracay Island, driven by the excitement of participating in the Skyathlon beach run. However, fate had other plans as the event got canceled due to the island's need for rehabilitation. Undeterred, I seized the opportunity to explore Boracay, making the most of every moment. The three days and four nights I spent there alone were filled with intense experiences – from swimming in the crystal-clear waters to running along the pristine beaches, covering a total of 7 kilometers from Station 1 to Station 3. The fine sand beneath my feet was unlike anything I had ever encountered.🤎😘

Little did I know that just two days after my departure, the island would temporarily close its doors for rehabilitation. Reflecting on my visit, I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude for having witnessed the beauty of Boracay before its closure to tourists. This trip marked my fifth visit to the island, and while some of my travels remain a secret, I find solace in keeping those experiences close to my heart for the sake of personal serenity.💙

As a traveler with humble beginnings, hailing from the poorest of families in the Philippines, my journey has been riddled with challenges. Yet, each obstacle I overcame fueled my determination to navigate life's complexities. Travel became my gift – an opportunity to explore my homeland and beyond. Despite the inherent difficulties, I approach life with simplicity, dedicating myself to the daily grind while nurturing dreams of further solo adventures or shared escapades with a significant other.

Life in the Philippines, though not without its trials, offers a canvas for me to paint with my experiences. I harbor a deep love for travel, a passion that extends to vlogging, running, and maintaining a fitness-centric lifestyle. These pursuits form the core of my being, pushing me to constantly seek new horizons, meet diverse souls, and immerse myself in unfamiliar cultures. Trying new things is not just a preference but a way of life.

Looking ahead, I eagerly anticipate more travel escapades, after tending to the important tasks that demand my attention this year. Despite the uncertainties that linger, I hold on to the dream of finding a companion to share my adventures – someone I can lean on, confide in, and proudly call "my man." While I eschew temporary feelings, I remain grateful for the journey that brought me to one of the men of my dreams. Traveling, vlogging, running, and embracing a fitness lifestyle define me, and I look forward to weaving more chapters into this ever-evolving travel story.
