The hairy frogfish (Antennarius striatus) are covered in dermal spinules resembling hair that provide them with the ability to change their color and pigment pattern in order to blend with their environment. Therefore, color and appearance varies greatly across the species. Hairy frogfish have very healthy appetites and will eat just about anything they can fit in their mouths. Their diet consists primarily of crustaceans and fish, but they can extend their jaws wide enough to eat prey as large, and sometimes even larger, then themselves; including other frogfish. These camouflaged predators often lie in wait for their prey. A first dorsal spine, called an illicium, dangles from their foreheads, much like a fishing pole. An esca hangs from the tip of the illicium like a lure, enticing unsuspecting prey to move closer until the hairy frogfish pounce and trap them in their giant mouths with one swift gulp. However, hairy frogfish are not sedentary creatures. They hobble about on jointed pectoral and pelvic fins with the help of their anterior dorsal fin and anal tail, often employing jet propulsion to launch themselves from place to place. Hairy frogfish jet propulsion is generated by filling the mouth with water and then forcefully expelling that water through tube shaped gill openings behind their pectoral fins. Hairy frogfish have been found in parts of the Indian, Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. They are not currently listed as threatened or endangered. However, they are suffering habitat loss at a more rapid rate as rising temperatures continue to cause an increase in coral bleaching. What Happens If You Get Covid Abroad?

Although travel to and from Europe is still possible, travellers should be prepared to endure travel restrictions and border closures.

The UK's red list is constantly reviewing to ensure that it is as up-to-date as possible. Countries and territories that are added may impose travel restrictions at any time to protect the public health.

For people from countries not on the red list, the usual rules apply to travel to England. However, they may vary depending on their age and vaccination status.

All travellers should take the necessary precautionary steps to ensure they're not infected with COVID-19 before they embark on their journey. They should also follow the UK's vaccination program and their personal details.

Advice for travellers

Although the restrictions on international travel are still in place, the rules for certain regions may vary. For instance, Northern Ireland and England may impose different restrictions than those in Scotland and Wales.

Getting up to date with your COVID-19 booster and vaccination course is also very important to prevent the spread of the illness.

This is especially important after touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. Wash your hands frequently with soap and water and avoid touching anything that's not clean. Use face coverings when sharing a public space or in an airport. Disclose with anyone who is sick if possible.

Air and cruise ship travel

If possible, avoid moving from your seat to avoid affecting the blood flow to the lower legs.

If you become unwell abroad

If you have been in an area where malaria has been prevalent, then you should check for the illness before you go to bed.

If you develop COVID-19 symptoms, such as a cough, high temperature, or loss of taste or smell, you should immediately seek medical attention.

After confirming that COVID-19 has been found, you should self-isolate. This will help minimize the spread of the disease in the country where you are staying.

Some individuals with COVID-19 infection may have a natural immunity to the illness.

If you are planning on traveling after recovering from COVID-19, you should consider carrying out a lateral flow device test. This procedure has a lower sensitivity than a PCR test and is usually less prone to detect COVID-19.

Returning to the UK

If you're planning on returning to an area with malaria risk, you should seek medical advice immediately. Before returning, tell a health professional about your current symptoms and ask for a malaria test.

If you suddenly become irritable or cough, or lose your sense of smell or taste, then you should self-assess and arrange to have a test, especially if it's rare.

Domestic control measures may vary depending on the situation in different regions.

Airlines with COVID-19 insurance

Throughout 2020, airlines started offering COVID-19 insurance packages to attract more travelers. But, these policies are getting renewed interest due to the new coronavirus variants.

For trips from January 1, 2021, Cathay Pacific will automatically include its free COVID-19 insurance coverage. This policy covers expenses related to overseas travel, including quarantine costs and medical treatment expenses.

Effective December 31, 2021, Emirates will no longer offer multi-risk insurance policies. The policy included COVID-19 coverage.

For travelers who test positive for COVID-19, Etihad will cover the expenses of quarantine and medical expenses up to 150,000 euros. It also covers the cost of testing for the virus through March 2022.

Japan Airlines is also offering free COVID-19 insurance. Through its partnership with Allianz Travel, the carrier provides coverage for up to 150,000 euros ($177,000) in total medical costs, and up to 100 euros a day for 14 days. The policy can be used for travel until January 10, 2022.

Virgin Atlantic has the biggest COVID-19 insurance package in the industry. It covers up to 15 million pounds in medical expenses and assistance in the event of an accident while away.

Although many US carriers offer COVID-19 coverage, many others don’t.
