What Is The Culture Of United Airlines?
United Airlines employees seem to have a culture problem, and the latest example of this is the death of a dog. It's not the first time that an incident like this has happened.
The culture of banks and airlines can be blamed for the toxic environment that exists at the top.
John Stumpf is no longer with Wells Fargo, which he left last October following the bank's massive fraud scandal. Oscar Munoz, the new CEO of United Airlines, failed to lead his company through the incident involving David Dao, who was forcibly removed from a flight after he was bumped by a crew member.
These companies have similar characteristics: Their employees are the ones who are at the center of their crises. For instance, United Airlines employees are known to lack empowerment.

The Problem
The actions of these employees are deplorable and a clear disconnect from the company's slogan "Fly the Friendly Skies." They seem to be completely opposite from the images that the company's Olympic advertisements depicted.
Dr. David Dao was forcibly removed from a plane in 2017 after he refused to give up his seat. Several other employees also refused to allow people to board the plane because of their dress code.
The Diagnosis
Not only have they not been able to improve the culture at United, they have also contributed to an environment that is not good.
United's CEO, Oscar Munoz, is credited with stabilizing the company's workforce following the merger of Continental Airlines and United Airlines in 2010. The merger also led to a lack of trust between the workers and the management.
Although the employees are at fault, the company's culture issue is largely caused by the lack of leadership. This is because Oscar Munoz and the other executives failed to create a culture that was conducive to employee engagement.

Small dogs and cats traveling as pets can board UA flights for $125 each way, with an extra $125 for stopovers of more than four hours within the United States. That means flying with your pet in the cabin costs $250 for a roundtrip flight with no stopovers. 
On flights to and from Hawaii, as well as several overseas destinations, pets are not permitted in the cabin.
If you own a pit bull, you should be aware that they are not permitted in the cabin of United Airlines flights.
Only one pet per kennel is permitted, and the dog or cat must be able to stand and turn around freely inside the confines of the kennel.
