[Translation under the cut]

Saya: Uhh, I wonder what I should do…
Kusanagi: What are you groaning about? Is that…a guidebook for a school trip? Where are you going this year?
Saya: Okinawa.
Kusanagi: Really? Haha. It because of Mikoto, don't mind.
Saya: Suoh-senpai doesn't like Okinawa?
Kusanagi: I don't know if he likes it it or not. Last year the whole Red club went to Okinawa.
Kusanagi: Due to club expenses, Mikoto and I went by plane, while the other members went by boat. Well, it was tough…
Tumblr media
Totsuka: Waaah, it's so hot in Okinawa in summer.
Mikoto: It's hot everywhere at this time of year.
Totsuka: Well, I guess so. Oh, I found a skewers store. King, want to eat?
Mikoto: Yeah. I'm hungry.
Totsuka: Okay, I'll go get some. Wait here.
Totsuka: Oji-sa-a-n. One Uzura Bacon (Bacon wrapped quail egg) and one Negima (chicken and scallion skewer), please.
Totsuka: Huh, a phone call. Who is it?
Totsuka: Hello-o.
Kusanagi: …Totsuka, where're you?
Totsuka: Let's see…in front of the skewer shop?
Kusanagi: Ha? What are you doing there?
Totsuka: I just placed my order and am waiting. … Oh, here it comes. Thank yo-ou (Nifue de biru), Oji-san~
Kusanagi: Nifue…what's that?
Totsuka: Nifue de biru. It means "thank you" in Okinawan dialect, didn't you know?
Kusanagi: I don't care!
Totsuka: Very bad, Kusanagi-san. If you are going on a trip, you must learn about the place properly.
Kusanagi: You're the one who's not learning …
Totsuka: What do you mean?
Kusanagi: Do you know your current location? Can you tell me where you are?
Totsuka: In Okinawa.
Kusanagi: I already know that. Honestly, you're lost, aren't you?
Totsuka: If I had to say, it's maybe so.
Kusanagi: Without a doubt, that's a "yes". Mikoto is not at the meeting place too…What happened to the Red club's group behavior skills?
Totsuka: King? If it's about King, he's with me.
Mikoto: …Who you're talking to?
Totsuka: Kusanagi-san. I'll switch to speaker so the three of us can talk.
Kusanagi: Mikoto, are you there?
Mikoto: Yeah.
Kusanagi: It's not "yeah". You promised to wait for Yata and the others at the hotel. Why are you wandering around?
Totsuka: I invited him. Since we had come all the way to Okinawa, I thought it would be a waste if we didn't go out.
Kusanagi: If that's the case, would it hurt you to say a few words if you are unexpectedly going out?
Totsuka: Sorry, sorry, I was careless. But it's okay, I'm sure we'll be able to get back.
Kusanagi: This your "sure" makes me very nervous…
Mikoto: Kusanagi, what is "puru"?
Totsuka: Ah, I was wondering about that too.
Kusanagi: Puru (プルー)…Pool(プール)?
Mikoto: Puru.
Kusanagi: Puru…Country name…Is it Peru?
Kusanagi: I don't understand. Don't you have a hint?
Totsuka: I'm guessing it's about taste. Or is it the look?
Mikoto: The look…?
Kusanagi: What the hell are you talking about? What is "Puru"? Is it written somewhere?
Mikoto: On menu of the store. It says "Goyachan Puru".
Kusanagi: Hey, you two. Just to confirm, it's not Goyachan Puru. It's Goya chanpuru (bitter melon stir-fry), okay?
Totsuka: Eh, no way!
Kusanagi: What the heck is Goya-chan?
Totsuka: Doesn't it sound like a mascot character?
Kusanagi: That is…I can't deny.
Kusanagi: I mean, Goya Chanpuru is Goya Chanpuru and Goya-chan is…That's bad, I'm getting confused!
Kusanagi: Anyway, the dish is called Goya Chanpuru. Don't come up with anything else complicated, okay!?
Totsuka: If Kusanagi-san says so, so be it. King?
Mikoto: I understood.
Kusanagi: I see, what a relief…No, I got tired now…
Totsuka: Next question. Papaya-chan puru is…
Kusanagi: That's not Papaya-chan! Do you not understand, idiot!?
Kusanagi: I'd like to go to you right now and punch you with my fist, but I have to wait for Yata-chan and the others…
Kusanagi: We're going to separate just for today. Get back to the hotel by dusk, okay?
Totsuka: Oka-ay, see you soon.
Totsuka: All right. Now that we're allowed to go on our own… King, where do you want to go?
Mikoto: This place is okay.
Totsuka: Ehhh, let's go see the sea!
Mikoto: If it's the sea, you can look at it as much as you want on the island.
Totsuka: You are so naive, King. The sea in Okinawa is different from the sea at the school island. The clarity, the color…
???: I thought I saw someone familiar, but it turned out to be you.
Mikoto: Munakata…
Totsuka: The color is - a beautiful green. And there are coral reefs and a lot of fish that you can only find here.
Munakata: …Could you not ignore me, please?
Totsuka: Ah, excuse me. Hello, Munakata-san. Have you been following King by any chance?
Munakata: No. I'm here to attend a government-sponsored student summit. And you?
Mikoto: It's none of your business, don't stick your nose into it.
Munakata: This is not an interrogation. It's just a chat, a trifling conversation, so don't be so alarmed.
Totsuka: We're on a vacation. All the Red club is here.
Munakata: …But it's just the two of you here.
Totsuka: Somehow, we got the freedom to go on our own. Shouldn't Kusanagi-san be with Yata and the others?
Mikoto: Totsuka, don't talk so much.
Totsuka: It's fine, it's fine. It's not something important.
Munakata: …Is that so?
Totsuka: What do you mean?
Munakata: There are only two of you here. This information is very useful, depending on how you look at it.
Mikoto: Hah, are you trying to pick a fight?
Munakata: Yeah, with all my might.
Mikoto: Good, bring it on.
Munakata: I won't hold back. I'm going to…Shuri castle!
Mikoto: …Ha?
Munakata: If you come to a tourist place, you must sightsee. Since time is limited, please make the most of it.
Mikoto: …Oi, Totsuka.
Totsuka: Even if you look at me like that. Well, that's fine. I don't want to get in trouble with the police on my trip.
Mikoto: How annoying…Should we withdraw and run away?
Tumblr media
Kusanagi: …That's what happened. It was really hard work…
Saya: What happened to Suoh-senpai and the others after that?
Kusanagi: I heard they went sightseeing together, but I don't know the details. I don't care what they did, I had a hard time over there on my side…
Kusanagi: Yata-chan is no good with girls, you know? There are a lot of girls in light clothing at tourist spots in the summer, right? The answer to your question is…
Saya: …Panic?
Kusanagi: Correct. I'm glad we went on a school trip in the fall.
Kusanagi: As long as you don't repeat the year, you only have one chance. Enjoy it as much as you can.
Saya: Okay!

Since K Project is part of your requests list: do you think you can do Mikoto and Totsuka and something like where they realize/start to realize they're in love with the other? 👀👀
OFFCCCC! Thank u for being the first person to respond to my post, and I’ll try my best!!!😁😁😁.
okay so I need the ppl who read this to give me as much fed back as possible. Piz and thxxx u.
✨It was a normal day for the HOMAR gang Totsuka was sleeping on the couch of the bar misaki and kamamato were fighting as usual with Mr. Kusanagi in the background looking pissed off and we can't forget the beautiful Anna who was looking at her red beads. ✨*YAWN* (guess who decided to wake up) rubbing his eyes lazily Totsuka stretches and stands up “man~ that was a good nap!” “Well well well look who decided to get up, want a drink?” Says kusanagi while cleaning a glass cup. “No thank you, but I do want to go to the convenient store, anyone wanna come with?” Totsuka asks with a silly smile looking around the room. After a few moments Totsuka sighs in defeat “guess I’ll go all by my lonesome..” “wait a damn minute I need some more cigarettes while ur there” says the beautiful mikoto!!! “Yay I now have a shopping buddy!” Tosuka yells gleefully. At Totsuka s word mikotos face contorts into a scowl “that’s now what I meant idiot” “huh? Then what did u mean?” Makato stays silent for a few seconds before speaking “ya know what never mind I need a few other things from the store” mikoto says while looking to the side.
✨✨✨✨✨✨Time Skip✨✨✨✨✨✨
✨it’s been several days since then and the HOMAR gang has noticed that mikoto and Totsuka have slowly been spending more time together. Totsuka has noticed this as well and he thinks he knows why…it’s because…..mikoto is LONELY! (jk jk Totsuka isn’t that dumb ….I think?) he has a feeling that mikoto likes he and he can say he doesn’t feel the same way I mean what is there to not like about him he’s caring in his own way, sexy, and is a big tsundere basically a big ol’ bear. But these feelings aren’t really knew or surprising he has always had a small gut feeling that he likes mikoto. ✨mikoto on the other hand isn’t quite sure of what he’s feeling and doesn’t really understand why he wants to hang out with Totsuka so much lately but he isn’t TOTALLY oblivious he knows he thinks Totsuka is cute and the way he acts like a idiot on purpose is annoying but also adorable. so he decides to confirm his feeling but just as he was thinking of a way to do this Totsuka bursts into his room and shows a posted to mikoto “ Hey King let’s go to this festival together!” Mikoto agrees without a second thought knowing this is his chance. “Yay time to go shopping with the king!!!” Totsuka says grabbing mikotos hand starts to drag him around catching mikoto off guard but he still lets himself get dragged away. ✨as the two are shopping they get more close to each other and their feelings grow.
✨a few days later it’s time for the festival and Totsuka and mikoto are walking side by side in their new kimonos that they just bought, and you better believe it was a pain in the ass to get mikoto into that kimono it was like going through all 7 rings of hell back and forth but in the end the gang finally got him to wear it somehow. As the night went on they stopped at many food stalls and game stalls one in particular was a little fishing stall, once Totsuka saw this stall he was in love and dragged mikoto to the stall while holding hands. It was finally the end of the night and both were now certain they had feelings for each other but did know if they should make a move so they continued this relationship for a while.

Smoking Love - Chapter Eight: First Kiss (Mikoto Suoh x Female!Reader)
Tumblr media
Warnings: Death of person, violence
A few months after your first date:
"Miko,“ your groggy voice pierced the early morning silence.
"What, Y/N/N?” he groaned into your mess of hair.
"I can barely breathe,“ you gasped, patting his hands in an effort to get him to loosen his hold.
"Oh, sorry.” The King’s arms let loose the tension they’d acquired in his sleep.
"You had another nightmare, didn’t you?“ You twisted yourself around in his embrace to face him. He always held you tighter whenever he had one.
"Mmm,” he hummed as you reached up and brushed aside one of the two stray strands of his hair back in a delicate, reassuring touch.
You wiggled your body upwards, causing Mikoto to moan again as you kept bouncing the bed, “Y/N…”
"Shh,“ you responded before giving him a small, sweet peck on the nose, your own little way of reassuring your new boyfriend that everything was alright now. You never forced him to tell you about them. All that mattered was that you helped him shake it off.
The man wrinkled it up then peeked open his eyes to see you giving him a big, child-like grin. How could one person be so cute yet so feisty?
"Now, you gotta let me go for like two minutes. I’m really thirsty and I want water.”
You tried to pry yourself from Mikoto’s strong grasp, but he would not let go.
"Mikoto,“ you whined in his ear, "pretty please.” You pouted up at him, turning up the cute factor exponentially.
"You can wait.“ He wanted to see how you would react to his rejection (not to mention he just liked cuddling you as much as possible), and he was not disappointed.
Your bleary eyes widened in disbelief, then you playfully swat one of his arms in chastisement, "You’re so mean. I think you enjoy teasing me too much.”
Mikoto only gave you that normal lazy smirk of his before pulling you in closer to his person. You almost resigned yourself to the fact that you wouldn’t have that glass of water anytime soon until…a devious idea dawned on you.
Finding a drop of brazen bravery within yourself, you discreetly slithered your hands underneath his white shirt and danced your fingers up his side in a feathery motion, testing your theory. It was soon confirmed when the ever-impassive King squirmed beneath your touch, then glared a warning at you, cheeks starting to warm up a fraction.
That action only succeeded in encouraging your attack even more, a giggle bubbling out of your lips when you saw his mad scramble to remove your fingers out from underneath his shirt. Who would’ve guessed the Third King, the one with the most violent temper and most infamous reputation, would be ticklish? Oh, the things you could do…
He tried to scoot farther out of your mischievous reach, though he couldn’t do it without falling out of the bed or pushing you off, neither of which he wanted to do. Meanwhile, your tickling increased tenfold, fingers going up and down on his sides at a rapid pace, causing a strange, unfamiliar noise to escape your boyfriend’s lips unexpectedly: a laugh. Albeit a small, almost indiscernible one, but a laugh nonetheless.
It incited you to snigger more at the man, “My boyfriend, the almighty Red King, is ticklish?! How adorable!”
Oh, you’d never let him live it down.
After a few more seconds of the silly torture, Mikoto managed to catch your slippery hands and yank them out of his shirt in one fast motion, pinning them up above your head in a vice-like hold while hovering over your person. That sure quieted you up in a hurry. You didn’t bother struggling, either.
His hot breath fanned against the exposed shell of your ear as he leaned down closer to you, chests almost touching. He had you trapped.
You held your breath, your body frozen in anticipation.
"I think someone needs to be punished for their bad behavior,“ he whispered in a breathless, husky voice, sending a shiver traveling down your spine.
The redhead maneuvered both of your hands into the grip of his left one, shoved the other up YOUR shirt, and proceeded to give you a taste of your own medicine.
"Miko!” you screeched, writhing underneath him like a fish out of a water, “S-stop it! M-mercy!”
He didn’t stop, though (what a shocker). He continued on with his retribution, determined to make you pay (and laugh much more).
"P-please! I-I promise I won’t tell anyone your secret! You’re k-killin’ me h-here!“ you pleaded, breaths coming in heaves.
Satisfied by your promise, Mikoto took his tickling hand away from your abdomen then rested his forehead up against your own, eyes closed, tired out by the recent events.
Your face flushed slightly in response, but you both settled down after that, enjoying the peace which followed. The soft sounds of your combined breathing were the only things permeating the silence.
You stayed in this position for a few more seconds, loving the moment you were having. Both your heart rates slowed until they began beating in sync, neither of you gasping for air any longer, reveling in the love surrounding you two. However, you had to break it up sooner or later, because Mikoto’s arms couldn’t hold him up forever.
Realizing this as his muscles began to tremble, he gave into your original request as he plopped himself back at your side, "You can go get your glass of water now.”
You unfroze yourself at his words, dashing out the door before your King changed his mind, while also eager to hurry back to the warmth of his comfy bed.
You took the steps as fast as you could without making too much noise, rushing to the faucet downstairs and grabbing a glass from the bar. You filled it up halfway then started drinking a few sips.
"You having fun up there, Queen?“
You sprayed out your current mouthful, choking on the remaining drops, those cheeks of yours flaming up again.
"Kusanagi!” you cried out in admonishment, “Don’t say things like that!”
He cruelly chortled at your embarrassment as you continued spluttering out words at him, “And I thought I told you not to call me Queen! The only thing I’m "queen” of is clumsiness and over-thinking, much less HOMRA.“
"Well, you have been dating the King for a few months. If anyone should have the title, it’d be you, Queen Y/N,” he shot you a devious grin after heading over to the counter to clean some more glasses.
You glowered at your Clansman. “You’re just as bad as Maiko or Chitose when it comes to teasing me, you jerk.”
"And for your information,“ you sniffed, "I did have fun. Now, I’m going back to Mikoto’s room, where I’ll be sleeping and actively ignoring you.”
You made a point of looking to see if he was watching you before stomping back up to Mikoto’s room, a smirk stretching your lips. Izumo shook his head at your receding figure in amusement. Your sassy, talkative personality sure balanced out the King’s impassive, lazy attitude well.
~~A couple hours later~~
"What in all fudging hell is going on down there?“ You awoke once more with a groan, the (unfortunately) familiar sounds of yelling disturbing your slumber.
"It’s not important,” your still-sleepy boyfriend grumbled, knowing you’d want to get up and intervene, “just let ‘em fight it out.”
"No, I won’t,“ you responded, being your ever-stubborn self.
"This is the third time this week they’ve fought. It needs to stop, NOW. Besides,” you continued after taking a glance at the clock, “I have a shift at the soup kitchen in about twenty minutes. I need to get up anyway.”
You tossed your legs over the edge of the warm bed, a scowl overtaking your expression. Mikoto let you go in an instant, knowing nothing would stop you from going once your mind was made up (although less than pleased at your leaving him alone for the second time that day).
You threw the bedroom door open without slamming it, marched down the stairs and over to where the argument was happening.
Let’s say you were less than surprised to find Bandō screaming obscenities at Shōhei, your newest recruit. You knew of the feelings of inferiority Bandō had when hanging around Shōhei, but jeez, they could stand to settle down once in a while.
The rest of HOMRA cleared out of your way in a hurry, sensing your scary aura. They knew to stay out of your way when you reprimanded a fellow Clansman.
You grabbed the nearest magazine on the trek there, before smacking both of the idiots upside the head with a loud whack!
"Hey!“ they simultaneously exclaimed at you, rubbing the back of their scalps.
You raised your eyebrows at them in an incredulous look, "What?! Don’t you "hey” me, you two! This stupid fighting has gone on long enough.“
That sure shut up them up fast.
You pinched your nose in exasperation, "Anyone care to tell me what this one is about?”
Bandō spoke up first, “Shōhei tried to hit on a girl I clearly called dibs on first!”
Shōhei glared at him, “No! I know I saw her before-”
"Shut it!“ you demanded, "It doesn’t matter who saw her first because one, she’s long gone, and two, you guys are friends! No one should come between you, much less a girl.”
"Now, I want you both to apologize, sincerely, then everyone can carry on with the rest of their day.“
   "But-”
You gave Bandō a harsh glare, cutting him off. He huffed in annoyance, yet apologized to his long-time friend, who in turn apologized to him. They realized how ridiculous it all was when you spelled it out for them.
"See, I knew you were our Queen, Y/N, making us settle our disputes,“ Totsuka’s gentle tone sounded after the exchange.
"Tatara! Not you, too!” you complained, flushing in embarrassment.
Every one of the HOMRA members had wanted you and their King to get together. Like Izumo said, the romantic tension was killing them as well. Many of them could see the potential for a lasting, fulfilling relationship between you both. So now that you were finally together, a few took every chance to tease you about it (mainly Tatara, Kusanagi, and Chitose), the fact that you hadn’t kissed the man or how you could be considered their Queen being their favorite topics.
"We can’t call her Queen too much, though. We all know they haven’t quite sealed the deal yet.“
Of course Chitose had to chime in.
"How do you know that, Mr. Smarty Pants?” you shot back, getting some pluck back, “We could’ve already done it and you wouldn’t know. Why would we want to kiss in front of a bunch of nosy creeps just to prove we have "sealed the deal?”“
"Ooh, your defensiveness says otherwise, Y/N,” Kusanagi replied in a sing-song voice.
You banged your forehead against a wall near your person a few times, mortified beyond belief, “Ughh, you all are like the annoying brothers I never wanted to have.”
   They laughed at that.
"If we’re all your annoying brothers, does that mean you’re technically dating your own sibling?“
"Stop it! You know that’s not what I meant, you guys!” you cried out over the continuous guffawing.
You raised your arms up in surrender, backing away towards the exit, “You know what? I don’t have time for this. You are being mean to me and I have to leave or I’ll be late for my shift, so goodbye, you losers.”
You almost succeeded in leaving without being stopped, but Kusanagi interrupted in time, “Are you sure you don’t want any of us to come with you? Just to keep you company?”
Your Clansmen always made sure you had someone to watch over you ever since the incident at the swim shop. They were protective of you and didn’t want to see you get hurt or triggered again, especially considering the awful things you went through in that abandoned warehouse. You understood where they came from, why they did it; however, it got on your nerves sometimes. You loved spending time with others, but the constant attention could encroach on your personal alone time now and then.
"No, I’ll be good,“ you dismissed in an instant, "I’m a strong, independent young woman who can handle herself, thank you very much.” You stuck your tongue out at him for good measure, still feeling a bit spicy at the moment.
"Strong independent young woman who still sticks her tongue out at others and pouts like a two-year-old,“ you heard someone say behind you as you left the premises.
You threw an "I hate you all” glare back at them before strutting down the sidewalk towards the soup kitchen.
You stopped for a moment, flipping out a pocket mirror, checking if you looked presentable enough. You did (surprise surprise), despite having slept in your clothes and shoes last night because you were so exhausted.
You didn’t always sleep over at HOMRA, but the debilitating nightmares started making a comeback this week, so you decided to sleep in Mikoto’s comforting embrace that night.
Nothing out of the normal happened as you continued your way to your workplace, just as you thought…until you got within two blocks of it. Some random person shoulder checked you hard, not even stopping to apologize. You wanted to call the person out, but thought better of it, realizing it wasn’t worth making a scene about. In your daze, however, you failed to notice that the bracelet which inhibited your Strain power was no longer on your wrist.
Once within a block of the soup kitchen, you took a peek at your wristwatch, finding you had seven minutes left until your shift started.
'Crap,’ you thought to yourself. Walking your current route would take you at least ten minutes.
That made you make the split-second decision to take the shortcut when you came to it, desperately not wanting to be late (a decision you regretted later on).
Your ears picked up the faint whimper of crying as you turned another corner. You pushed down the sinking feeling you had in your gut as you walked through a damp, dark alleyway on your way there, determined to get to your destination in time, hoping your hearing was just playing tricks on you. The crying only got louder, though, as you pressed on, until you came face to face with the person whose sobbing reached your ears.
The distraught woman was lying on the ground, dress in tatters, shaking like a leaf as a man towered over her small figure, blood dripping off his clenched knuckles. You wondered why no one else had come across the scene, then realized you were much farther into the slums of the city than you originally thought, noticing the rusted NO TRESPASSING sign looming over your head.
You were lost, and now in real danger, because your body froze at the eerily familiar sight, the image of Rino permeating your mind. You really should’ve taken up Izumo’s offer of having someone come with you.
You saw the perpetrator raise his fist up in a motion to hit the girl and you lost all sense of control. The distinct snap of a chain breaking above you caught your attention before a large metal safe came crashing down straight onto the man, effectively crushing him beneath it.
His skull was completely smashed in, the crimson blood leaking out from his cracked skull.
A blood-curdling scream shook you out of your horrified stupor, turning your gaze to the victim. Her figure shook, then her red eyes caught sight of you in her peripheral vision, fear radiating in her stare. The woman seemed to receive a revelation, for she backed farther into the corner of the alleyway in an effort to put some distance between you.
She pointed a shaky, accusatory finger at you, “Y-you did that, didn’t you?”
You reached for your bracelet in a nervous motion, to find that you no longer had it. Your heart stopped. She could very well be telling the truth.
"I-I don’t know how, b-but you did it! You k-killed him!“ she shrieked at you, causing you to step back in shock, the word "kill” repeating over and over in your brain.
In a fit of terror, you took off in a sprint, the woman’s screams of murderer bouncing off the concrete walls.
You had no destination in mind; you only needed to escape the horrific wails and the pooling blood.
When you finally ran out of breath, you found yourself panting outside your favorite bar: HOMRA, the one place you did not want to go to. Some of the members noticed how pale and frantic your expression was, so they rushed outside to your aid.
Kusanagi placed a hand on your shoulder, removing it when you jerked away, “Y/N, what happened? What’s the matter?”
His questioning fell on deaf ears.
"I need you to l-let them take me in. D-don’t fight them, please,“ you rambled, sounding like you’d gone insane. You knew Scepter 4 would come for you, and you didn’t want your family to get hurt fighting them.
"Y/N, what on earth are you babbling about? Let’s get you insi-”
You shook your head furiously, “No, no. I need you to keep Mikoto from-” you licked your lips in nervousness, “from coming after me. I-I deserve to be locked up. O-oh, if you could see the blood, the blood-”
You were so caught up in your panicked state that you failed to see your King step out of the bar, walking out towards you at a hurried pace.
   "What happened, Y/N?!“
"He-he’s dead. I-I-” You got cut off by someone grabbing your arms and making you face them.
Your heart dropped to your stomach when you saw it was Mikoto, “N-no. You can’t b-be here. They’re c-coming.” A stray tear trickled down your cheek as he took your face in his hands in an effort to get you centered.
"Y/N, look at me,“ your boyfriend commanded in a low, unthreatening tone.
You almost gave in, but you saw a certain Blue King marching towards your position in the distance, then started going into another frenzied panic.
"M-Mikoto, th-the screams, the blood. You n-need to let me-” You tried to pry yourself away from him, digging your fingernails into his skin in an effort to do so.
The Red King realized there was no reasoning or calming you down with words or caresses at this point, so he did the next best thing that he could think of. He hated himself for choosing this moment to do so, but he was desperate. You could hurt yourself if you kept continuing on like this.
He threaded his fingers into the (h/l) (h/c) above your ears for a better grip then guided you forward until your trembling lips met his own firm ones, catching a taste of your cherry chapstick as he did so.
Your racing thoughts instantly quieted up, your eyes bugging out of their sockets at the sudden feeling of the foreign touch of his mouth on yours. You caught a whiff of the familiar scent of smoke and your mind became a blank slate as you began to focus on his fervid lips melding into your flaccid ones. You fisted his soft white t-shirt and pulled him closer to you, your skewed emotional state making you as desperate as him, reciprocating his actions. It most certainly was not the way either of you expected to have your very first kiss.
His thumbs rubbed circles on your cheekbones as more tears leaked from your eyes and he felt Kusanagi tap on his back, causing him to reluctantly remove himself from you, aware of who was coming your way.
He turned around to meet the hard stare of Reisi Munakata, pressing you into his side in order to give you some sense of protection.
"We are here to arrest Y/N L/N on suspicion of the murder of Hotaru Kumori. I suggest that you do not interfere.“ The cold, demanding voice left no room for debate or bargain.
You sensed the anger boiling up in Mikoto’s body, knowing he’d start something soon and it wouldn’t be pretty. So while he was distracted by the other man, you managed to free yourself and walk over to the captain, holding out your hands to be cuffed.
Seri Awashima clicked the restraining device onto your wrists, a grim expression written into her features.
"Y/N…” Kusanagi murmured, shocked by your willingness to turn yourself in.
"Please don’t fight them, guys,“ you pleaded, looking especially at your boyfriend, "I’m not worth it and I deserve whatever’s coming to me.”
"Mikoto,“ you added, "I want you to tell Anna I-I said goodbye and tell her I-I’m sorry I never got to see that pretty swimsuit on her.”
You had no idea how much those words broke your family’s hearts.
You blew a teary kiss over to Mikoto then turned back to the commander, who took you in her grip and escorted you to the cold prison cell that awaited you, the sensation of his warm lips still lingering on yours.

Title: Cacophony Chapter 8 Read from the beginning Music/Band AU Pairing: Mikorei, side Izuseri, Rating: M Word Count:  4,208
AO3 Summary for Ch8: Muna and Suoh deal with the band no longer being together thanks to @its-love-u-asshole for reading this over! Only a couple chapters left
Things should've felt more normal. Should've. Or so Munakata had thought, and yet he felt like he was missing out on so much. A week went by without practicing with Homra, then another, and it wasn't long before it had been almost an entire month with no practice.
That didn't mean Munakata wasn't playing. He'd been working on his original composition much harder than before. Scepter's admission audition was only a few weeks away, and Munakata was still going to audition as planned.
Still, it felt different. He truly did believe his playing had improved, even now as he sat at the piano, writing out the notes of his new original composition, he felt something for the piece. It held a sadness Munakata's music had never depicted before, and depending on his mood, he could also feel anger resonating from his fingertips. He still hadn't quite determined where the emotions came from, but he could finally feel them there.
Before, his music had seemed intelligent, and it had come from a place of his technical talent. There had been nothing wrong, but nothing had been emotionally interesting either. Looking back on the piece he had wrote before, he could see why they had found his music to fall flat.
This time was going to be different. If he could actually finish the damn song.
He'd taken to walking around out in the snow, listening to the bustling noises of the city. The cacophony of sound would swirl in his head like the whooshing of the wind blustering through his bangs. The sounds sometimes inspired him, and it was as though he could hear the beautiful sounds in his head. However he usually heard it as a band, as a combined unit, not just his solo piano music. Then he would return home, sit down to practice, and the sound would feel off. Like it was missing something.
Really his whole life felt like it had been missing something.
He hadn't meant to fall in love with the band, and the style of music, and...
Well, it didn't matter. Suoh had split up the group, decided to leave the rest of them behind, and there was absolutely no way Kusanagi and Yata were going to play without Suoh. It had been such a silly little blip in Munakata's career. It was supposed to only be a gig for a few months, then he would move on once he had the life experience.
Which he now had, and yet, for some reason, he missed it. He missed practices.
"How has the new composition been coming along?" Awashima asked. She had stopped by to pick up a few music books Munakata had borrowed during what he had called his 'planning phase'.
"Ah, it is much better than my last, Awashima," he chuckled. "Though...I still feel like it's missing something. Or perhaps I am missing something."
"You were rehearsing quite frequently in a completely different genre of music for a long time," Awashima stated, always true to the facts. "Maybe you miss playing more casually?" she suggested.
"I suppose it very well could be that," Munakata admitted. "The thought has crossed my mind. How is Kusanagi doing?" he asked, genuinely curious about the man's well-being.
A soft blush slipped across Awashima's cheeks, as it always did whenever either of them brought up the topic of Kusanagi. "I think he's trying to decide what direction to take his life in," she said. "I know he wants to keep playing music, but he feels strange doing so without Yata and Suoh."
"Yes, well Suoh made his choice quite clear," Munakata snapped.
"I take it you haven't spoken to him then?" Awashima asked. "Izumo asked me if you had, but at the time I didn't have an answer for him. I suppose I do now."
"Indeed," Munakata said, regaining composure. "I have not spoken to him since. He is not much of a talker anyway, so I don't see the point. I don't foresee him changing his mind."
Awashima nodded. "Izumo seemed to think the same thing, but this wasn't for his lack of trying," she sighed. "I think he goes to Suoh's apartment almost everyday," she explained. "He wants to make their band work. Would you...go back if they asked you?"
For a moment, Munakata wasn't quite sure how to respond. Of course there was a part of his heart which was desperate to return to the rush of feelings he'd felt upon that stage, and yet, it also felt so impossible. He had a goal, and he wished to stick to it. Munakata wasn't the type to give up, and he'd been shooting for Scepter University for so long, he couldn't imagine changing his mind to go do something else. Perhaps he could try and do both?
"I...apologize if that was an odd question?" Awashima's voice broke through the silence and Munakata blinked for a moment, shaking his head.
"Ah...no it was not. I suppose I hadn't thought much about it, since it does not seem to be a possibility, even in the near future. Besides," he said, pressing his glasses up the bridge of his nose. "I really am focused on my audition, and you and I both know if I am accepted I would have barely any free time."
"...True," she said, though Munakata did not miss the slight hesitation in her voice.
He said goodbye to Awashima, ready to return to his piano for the evening. He felt as though he was close to finishing the composition, and then he could make tweaks and rehearse it. Perhaps he simply needed to get over the challenge of writing.
And yet, even as he sat down to focus, he found his mind drifting once more, to the stage, to the sound of the music resonating across the audience, to Suoh's voice. The truth was he adored that rush, and if Suoh came back, Munakata most likely would've jumped at the chance to play with them again, even if he felt like he shouldn't...or couldn't.
With a sigh, he brushed his fingers over the keys. He had to focus. Scepter University was what was important now. He was going to continue on his path to becoming a classical pianist, just as he always had planned. He couldn't afford anymore distractions, especially ones which weren't going to follow through.
~~
The snow was beginning to melt, since the spring season was slowly rolling in. The breeze was growing warmer, and Suoh finally could sit outside on his balcony and enjoy a cigarette. Also if he sat out there, the chance of missing Kusanagi was much higher.
His best friend had come over almost everyday since Suoh had decided he didn't want to play in the band any longer. And everyday Kusanagi would ask for the exact same thing. Suoh however, would never relent. He wasn't going back to the band.
He placed the cigarette in his mouth, taking a long drag as he leaned over the railing. He never wanted to touch his guitar again. Never, not without Totsuka, and especially not with stupid Munakata.
Munakata had gotten far too close to Totsuka, and it hadn't sat right with him. It had been a month, and nightly, the concert would haunt Suoh. He would hear the way Munakata's fingers pushed over the keys, the sound echoing in his mind. He hated the thought that he would turn around and see someone playing Totsuka's songs who wasn't him...and he was playing them better.
So he had to end it.
"And what the hell are you going to do now?" Kusanagi had yelled at him. It was no surprise Kusanagi was angry. Hell, Suoh had expected it, but it didn't change his resolve. He wasn't going to play with the band anymore.
"Dunno," he shrugged. "I'll figure somethin' out."
"You can't smoke and sit in your apartment for the rest of your life," Kusanagi had said.
But as far as Suoh was concerned, he was more than happy to do just that. Which admittedly, was what he had been doing for the past month or so. Playing music was too complicated, and it evoked too many feelings Suoh didn't feel like feeling.
There was a knock on the door, like expected, and Suoh rolled his eyes. He knew it wouldn't be the last time Kusanagi tried to get in. Shaking his head, he held the cigarette to his lips and sucked in a long drag, puffing out the smoke. It swirled with the spring breeze, and flew away from his balcony. It would've been easier to do the same.
Sighing, he kept his cigarette between his teeth and opened the door, his face unchanging when Kusanagi pushed past him to step into the apartment. Suoh shut the door behind him, and made his way out onto the balcony.
"So I don't even get a 'hi' now?" he asked.
Suoh shrugged, waving his hand.
"Thanks..." Kusanagi muttered, pulling a cigarette from his own pack as he walked towards the building. "Mikoto...You can keep living like this. You're gonna waste away."
"Yeah?" Suoh grunted, letting another puff of smoke slip from his lips.
"Why did you quit, Mikoto?" Kusanagi sighed, leaning against the railing with him.
"I already told ya'. You've already asked me. I don't want anything to do with music." Kusanagi had forced him in the first place, and Suoh was sticking to his original plan. "I played the damn concert. It was practically a month ago. What the hell do you want from me?" he grumbled, shaking his head.
"I want you to be honest with me. Mikoto."
"I don't want anything to do with music," Suoh grunted.
"Are you scared? Of continuing this path without Totsuka? You actually looked like you were having a good time on that stage, and even during practice."
"I wasn't," Suoh muttered.
"You're being stubborn," Kusanagi said, glaring at his best friend.
Suoh sighed. "Ya'. Stubborn. You've come over here every single day to see if anything would change and it hasn't. I dunno what you're expecting."
"I'm expecting my best friend to pull himself out of this funk and realize what it is he loves doing. I wish you could've seen how great you looked. Hell, we all looked great. And what happened to spreading Totsuka's music? Mikoto, you could write new songs and share them with the world, be inspired by what Totsuka did-"
A long sigh trailed from Suoh's lips while Kusanagi talked. "I already told you Izumo," he mumbled. "We went through this before you practically forced me to come back against my will. I said I didn't want to in the first place, and I don't want to now. The concert changed nothing."
Admittedly, there had been a moment where Suoh had considered it. When he'd taken Munakata's stupid ass to that concert, seen how his face had lit up...He'd realized he liked teaching the idiot about the world of music, he liked seeing Munakata learn new things and grow. But when he got too close, their kiss, the strange feelings which were slowly growing inside of him, Suoh wasn't sure how he felt. It wasn't until Munakata had fully grasped Totsuka's songs, almost to the point of surpassing him, that Suoh realized he needed to stop. Munakata would never be Totsuka. They were nothing alike, and Munakata could never be as good as him. Even if he seemingly was.
Suoh hated that.
Kusanagi sighed, snuffing out his cigarette against the railing. "Fine," he grumbled. "I'll be back tomorrow."
"...right," Suoh grunted. He used to tell him not to bother, but after many weeks of this, Suoh knew it wasn't worth it. Kusanagi would come back whether Suoh wanted him to or not.
The two didn't say anything else and Suoh finished his cigarette, but stayed outside. He wondered for a brief moment what his life would've been like had he chosen to stay a part of the band. It wasn't like Munakata was going to stay with the group. No, he would've left and joined his pretentious university, leaving them all behind. All that work Suoh had done had been so Munakata could push himself forward and forget they had ever existed.
Perhaps that had been part of the reason why he'd quit. He'd never looked at it that way, but now that the thought crossed his mind, it made Suoh angry. There was no point in staying in a group that would have to keep cycling through people, and Suoh wasn't going to teach them how to be little mini Totsukas each time Kusanagi found a new pianist who inevitably wouldn't be good enough.
No, Munakata never would've stayed, and even if he had, Suoh didn't want to get closer to the guy. Suoh didn't want to get close to anyone.
~~
The stage looked exactly the same as it had so many months ago, and Munakata felt his hands begin to tremble. He wasn't the type of person to get nervous, but something about reliving the experience from before, made him feel uncomfortable.
The stage felt cold, and unwelcoming, the light shining down on the solo piano was enough to make Munakata feel nervous. He didn't know why though; a little over a month ago, he'd played piano in front of a huge crowd of people. And that hadn't even been a genre he was truly familiar with.
Before the classical stage had always felt like his home, but now, he wasn't so sure what he felt exactly. However, he knew it was a feeling he didn't much enjoy.
Taking a deep breath, he made his way out to the stage, bowing to the small group he was about to perform for. "Hello, my name is Munakata Reisi, and this will be my original piece performance," he said.
A man gestured for him to take a seat. "Whenever you are ready."
Nodding, Munakata pulled out the bench and sat in front of the grand piano. He placed his fingertips against the keys, and shut his eyes. He smiled for a moment, letting the thrill wash over him. This time he was going to do it, this time he was going to be successful. He would walk out of this building, prepared to be a student in the spring; he was sure of it.
With a sigh, he pressed his fingers down on the keys, and began to play. He knew his piece by heart now, and he glided through the beginning, a slower more somber part of the piece. The music felt like it flowed from his fingertips, and though it didn't have the same rush as performing on the concert stage had, Munakata could still note the difference in times he'd been on this particular stage.
The tempo of the piece began to pick up; Munakata's fingers pressed harder against the keys as the anger began to seep through. It was so frustrating, how different things felt now. It was as though Suoh had ruined him. Perhaps ruined wasn't the proper word. Changed? Classical music was his life, and he could tell this piece was exceptional. Scepter University would truly be crazy to not accept him after this, but Munakata didn't feel the same thrill he had while playing with HOMRA, and he despised that.
His fingers angrily slammed down on the keys, his emotion shooting through his fingertips. How dare Suoh change everything he'd known about music. Yes, perhaps he was a better performer now, as much as Munakata hated to admit that, but also he hated that the joy he'd felt had seemingly dissipated.
Or maybe he'd never really felt joy at all.
Finally, he moved into the final movement of the song, a somber ending, laced with a bit of resentment.
All his life, he'd wanted to do exactly what he was doing now. Sit on a stage by himself, and wow the classical world with his talent, skill, and art. He was finally capable of doing so, and yet he felt as though something was missing. The loud roaring of the crowd at the end of a song, Suoh's grungy vocals which were so incredibly captivating it wasn't fair. He missed HOMRA, that stage was where he wanted to be, not this one. This one was far too lonely, and empty.
But he didn't have much of a choice. HOMRA didn't exist anymore, and this stage had beckoned to him, had been his 'dream' for so long. Munakata had no choice but to push forward. His fingers danced over the keys as he played the last few lines, filled with a resignation to the fate he had chosen for himself.
He pulled his hands back, opening his eyes, and he waited for some kind of response. Slowly he turned his gaze towards the audience, trying to gauge what they could possibly be thinking. All of them were sat, mouths open, staring at him.
Finally, one of the men stood up and began to clap, the others now following suit. All of them cheered and clapped, and it took Munakata a minute to process what was happening. Months ago, this would've been his proudest moment, but Munakata didn't feel much of anything.
He stood up from the bench and bowed, stepping forward to the front of the stage where he had spoken to them before.
"Excellent," the man in front of him said. "Simply, excellent. It seems you really took our criticism to heart. It was like watching a different man up there!" He was so excited, so Munakata pulled his lips into a smile.
"I thank you," he replied, and bowed once more. "I've been working on this original piece for quite sometime now."
"And it greatly shows," A woman continued. “Your improvement shows just how capable you are. And in such a short amount of time."
"We'd be happy to offer you a position at our school. You have definitely earned it," the man said.
"Thank you so much," Munakata smiled, and bowed once more. "I am very grateful that you have given me this opportunity, and that you even gave me the opportunity to prove myself once again. I know not many people are given a second chance."
"You have an extremely promising future here," the man said. "We could tell your technical performance was absolutely perfect, and when we gave you instructions to better yourself, you did. We could not be more pleased with your results. So, I take it we will see you in the spring?"
Bowing one more time, Munakata nodded. "Of course," he said, smiling widely.
"Marvelous!"
Grabbing his music, Munakata exited the stage. He had finally been admitted to the greatest music program, and he knew he should be happy. He should've been elated, thrilled and any other word one could think of for happy. And yet, as he exited the building, he couldn't help but wonder if he was making the right choice.
~~
"I hear Munakata got in to that Scepter University he wanted to get into," Kusanagi said, letting out a puff of smoke into the air.
"Tch," Suoh scoffed. "Figures."
"You sound mad?"
"Not mad," Suoh grumbled.
"You sound it," Kusanagi teased, gripping the railing with his hand, he leaned back, staring up at the sky. "What did you expect him to do?"
"Nothing. I expected him to do that," Suoh said, shrugging his shoulder.
Kusanagi chuckled softly. "Yeah I guess he did kinda join our band with the idea that he would leave after everything was said and done so he could do his university shit."
"Yup," Suoh said, shoving his cigarette aggressively against the railing as he turned around and headed back inside. He walked towards the kitchen, and grabbed a beer, plopping down on the couch.
Kusanagi's brow furrowed, and Suoh hated that look on his face. It usually meant Kusanagi was thinking about something Suoh would not want to talk about, and he was going to bring it up, whether Suoh wanted to talk about it or not.
"You really do seem mad," Kusanagi chuckled, grabbing his own beer to take a seat next to him.
"Izumo. M'not," he grunted, taking a long swig of his beer.
With a sigh, Kusanagi leaned forward. "Lemme ask you something."
"You're gonna anyway," Suoh muttered, leaning against the arm of the couch.
"Would you have stayed with HOMRA if you thought Munakata was going to stay?" Kusanagi asked and Suoh sighed.
That was exactly the question he'd been expecting, and it was just another question Suoh had no desire to answer.
"S'got nothing to do with him..." Suoh muttered. "He was just a shitty replacement for Tatara."
"Yeah at first. We needed a pianist, but I think it's more than that," Kusanagi said. "The two of you got pretty close."
"We didn't..." Suoh groaned, and pushed himself off of the couch. "Izumo. I don't want anything to do with Munakata. No one would be as good as Tatara, especially not him."
Kusanagi frowned and stood up. "Are you really going to spend the rest of your life hung up on Totsuka? Look, I know you loved him. I get that it was incredibly devastating to lose him, he was one of my best friends, and he should never have died like that. But what do you think Totsuka would say if he saw you like this? Saw you sitting around doing nothing? Do you know how mad he would be?" he hissed.
"Izumo," Suoh rolled his eyes lazily. "Don't bring Tatara into this."
"I will, because I know that's the only sort of thing you listen to. And you know I'm right," he snapped. "Munakata is incredible, and you know that too. Hell, you liked him. Don't even try and deny it. I know you two haven't been talking anymore since you quit, but he was good for the band, he was good for you!" Kusanagi yelled.
"I dunno what you want me to do Izumo," Suoh sighed. "I'm not coming back to the band, and even if I had stayed, Munakata would've left. I'm not going to keep training people to play Totsuka's songs half-assed."
"Munakata didn't play them half-assed and you know that," Kusanagi accused.
"Izumo, shut it. Stop telling me what I know. If you think I know it, why the hell are you talking to me?"
"Because you won't say it. Did you ever consider asking Munakata to stay?"
Suoh froze. It was such a damn catch-22. Asking Munakata to stay would've meant accepting that he was Totsuka's replacement, and it meant he might actually stick around. Which in turn meant that Suoh would have to stay a part of the band, something he was hell bent on not doing.
"He wouldn't have," Suoh said finally. It was easier to push the blame on that asshole.
Kusanagi frowned. "Y'know, I think you're wrong. At the end of everything...he seemed really happy. I mean I didn't know him as well as you, but it really seemed like he wanted to...keep playing with us."
"Yeah, well he's got a fancy university now."
"So you're not even willing to try? We could keep the band, and play together," Kusanagi asked.
"I told ya' I didn't wanna do that anyway."
"Even if Munakata was there?" Kusanagi asked. There was hope in his voice, as though he'd finally found the reason why Suoh had quit, and he was partially right. Partially.
"...yeah," he grumbled.
Kusanagi chugged back the rest of the beer. "Fine. Be stubborn," Kusanagi grunted. "I don't care anymore. When you realize that you're doing exactly what Totsuka wouldn't want you to do, come find me, and maybe we can actually do what we're good at doing. And maybe when you realize Munakata is good for you, you'll actually try and talk to him again."
After his speech, Kusanagi immediately stormed out the door, slamming it behind him. In the silence, Suoh wondered if this meant Kusanagi was going to finally give up on getting the band together.
He pursed his lips and glanced around the room, his eyes falling on his guitar. He hadn't touched it since the concert. He hated when Kusanagi spoke these things out loud because he was always fucking right, and he made Suoh actually think. Totsuka would be incredibly mad if he knew Suoh was sitting around doing nothing.
'You're the best guitar player I know!'
'I love your voice, Mikoto!'
The words echoed in his head again...and he hated it. Just as how Totsuka's voice had convinced him to play the concert, it was starting to convince him not to give up music, not to give up Munakata.
'Don't think, just go.'
With a grunt, Suoh began pacing around the room. Don't think, just go. Totsuka was right. Totsuka was always right. Grabbing his jacket, Suoh yanked the door open and left his apartment, heading for the place he needed to go.

The Princess Diaries AU! Royal (and huge, thanks to Munakata) Sarumi wedding with a lot of bonding moments, specially between Yata and Munakata (I really want this), Fushimi and Munakata, Yata and Mikoto, Fushimi and Mikoto and Sarumi, a lot of Sarumi obviously :3
Munakata totally does the royal Sarumi wedding up big, so big thatYata probably has to coax Fushimi out of his bedroom on the big dayto keep him from hiding there and skipping his own wedding, Fushimidoesn’t understand why they can’t just elope because he doesn’t wantto deal with the crowds and the people and the staring. Yata’s kindainto the idea of eloping himself but he’s also aware that as the nextruler of the country he can’t get away with that no matter how hewants to. Also Fushimi won’t open the door and technically theyshouldn’t be seeing each other before the wedding anyway so whathappens is Yata’s sitting there with his back against one side of thedoor and Fushimi’s inside with his back against the other as the twoof them talk, Yata knows Fushimi doesn’t do well with crowds and Yatahimself is super nervous too but at the same time he’s actuallyreally excited, like he doesn’t care about the big fancy party or thebanquet or any of that shit he just wants to be married to Fushimi. And even if their wedding was just the two of them standing in therain or something with nothing more than a piece of paper that wouldbe fine with Yata too, that they’re stuck with the big commotionsucks but in the end the important part is that the two of them aregoing to be together forever. Fushimi’s really quiet as Yata saysmost of this, just sitting there with his arms wrapped around himselfwallowing in anxiety and low self esteem and the more Yata talks themore he uncurls and starts responding a little with the occasionalirritated tongue click or snort when Yata says something silly. Finally Fushimi cracks the door open a bit and tells Yata to getgoing, they’ll see each other later at…the ceremony. Yata gets thishuge grin on his face and says he’s looking forward to it as he headsback down the hall.
He’s not far from Fushimi’s room when he’s stopped by an amusedMunakata stepping out of some corner, telling Yata that he did verywell calming Fushimi down like that. Yata’s probably a little annoyedat Munakata for making this stupid fancy wedding as it is, likeyou’re upsetting Saruhiko you asshole and nobody upsets Saruhiko.Munakata maybe actually apologizes a little for that, while hehimself did support a large wedding because he believes such a finematch as Fushimi and Yata deserves to be celebrated he also allowedhimself to cave to certain pressures of office, that the royalwedding has always been a big affair and there are parties thatexpect to be invited whom Munakata therefore had to send invitationstoo, even knowing that Yata’s fiancee would be uncomfortable withsuch a crowd (and then Yata has a panic moment wondering if Munakatainvited Fushimi’s terrible family and basically being like ‘if I seeany of those assholes in the crowd I’m climbing the tree outside hiswindow right now and we are fucking eloping,’ Munakata replies in aperfectly calm, officious voice that it seems those invitations wereunfortunately lost in the mail and no one gets into the weddingwithout an invitation, alas. Yata likes him a tiny bit more now).
The ceremony itself, Yata finds himself getting nervous too, likehe’s the one who stands at the altar and Munakata’s going to bringFushimi down the aisle to him and standing there with Mikoto, Totsukaand Kusanagi staring at the crowd he suddenly realizes how manypeople are here, all watching him and all waiting for him todo something stupid and commoner-like and mess up. Mikoto sees howtense the kid is and puts a hand on his shoulder, Yata starts tostutter out his nervousness Mikoto’s just like 'Yata, if they have aproblem with you then fuck 'em,’ Kusanagi groans a little but he’ssmiling and they’re all in agreement, it doesn’t matter if Yata doesthings the 'right’ way because it’s his wedding ceremony, as long asYata does what feels right to him who cares if it goes againstroyal tradition (and that’s when Yata catches sight of his mom andsiblings in the crowd smiling at him and looking so proud and hecan’t help but smile back himself). He almost loses it again thoughwhen Fushimi walks in, wearing some kind of really amazing royal suitwith like gold chains and a long fancy blue coat and he looks soamazing Yata’s speechless for a minute, Totsuka giggles a little athow cute the young love is and Yata swallows hard and steps forwardto meet his lovely bride.
Fushimi walks the whole way down the aisle looking really stiff withMunakata on his arm leading him, his eyes keep darting to all thepeople around staring at them. Munakata softly says that he’s fine,he’s more than worthy of their stares and Fushimi’s like 'shut up Ididn’t ask you.’ He does relax a little though, clicking his tongueand grimacing at how stupid and extravagant the whole ceremony is.His eyes keep getting drawn back to Yata at the front of the roomthough, in full prince regalia and staring at him with shining eyesand Fushimi feels his face getting hot. Munakata chuckles next to himand Fushimi’s all 'don’t even say it,’ clicking his tongue again. Toone side some snooty royal in the crowd whispers something aboutFushimi being of such low birth and how could a person like thismarry their future king, Munakata and Fushimi both fix that personwith matching cold glares and Munakata quietly gives Fushimi theperson’s name because he totally knows everyone here, some snootylord is not going to be on the new king’s good list.
The actual vow exchange is all sweet, Kusanagi officiates and hekeeps things moving (Mikoto’s niece Anna is both the flower girl andring bearer and is super adorable) so that Fushimi and Yata don’thave to stand there listening to people drone on too long. The royalceremony has pre-written vows but of course Yata can’t help butad-lib, there’s a rustle of unrest from some corners of the crowd andYata falters for a second before being like 'Mikoto-san’s right, fuckthose guys’ and just barreling forward with his own vows whileFushimi’s face gets redder and redder and he can barely keep up hisexpression of complete indifference. Fushimi has his part of thetraditional vows memorized and he recites them flawlessly but then atthe end he stumbles for a second and Yata’s all surprised becauseSaruhiko remembers everything but Fushimi just coughs a bit and thenadds his own little addition to the vows and Yata just beams. EvenKusanagi can’t stop himself from smiling as he pronounces themmarried and they kiss, after they separate Fushimi and Yata quietlytease each other about whose face is redder.
Then the after party is long and exhausting, poor Yata gets grabbedby Kusanagi while Munakata takes charge of Fushimi and they arerequired to make the rounds to say hi to various dignitaries anddiplomats. Fushimi tires out first, probably already drained from allthis being out in public, and Munakata obligingly pretends not tonotice when Fushimi slips out into an empty room. Or he thought itwas empty, Mikoto’s there lying on the couch because even though he’sking he totally slipped out after the ceremony was over. Fushimi sitsdown a bit away from him, kinda nervous around this person, andMikoto doesn’t even open his eyes as he asks if Fushimi’s enjoyinghimself. Fushimi clicks his tongue as he mumbles that of course heisn’t, he wanted to elope. Mikoto smirks a bit as he says thatwould’ve been a good idea, especially because it would have pissedMunakata off. Eventually Yata comes looking for Fushimi and Mikotojust gets up like 'you two have fun,’ leaving them alone in the room.Yata and Fushimi stare at each other and then totally sneak away fromtheir own wedding back to Yata’s room where they play video games andjust hang out and then cuddle on the bed for the rest of the night(Fushimi whispers something into Yata’s ear about 'the honeymoon’ andYata goes bright red but at the same time he suddenly reallywants to kiss Saruhiko again and things possibly escalate nicely fromthere).
