On the subject of how often Lestat mentions crying and weeping in The Vampire Lestat and Queen of the Damned, this exchange between Lestat and Louis in Tale of the Body Thief always cracks me up:
Lestat: "I'm going to weep if you don't stop."
Louis: "Weep. I'd like to see you weep. I've read a great deal about your weeping in the pages of your books but I've never seen you weep with my own eyes."
Lestat: "Ah, that makes you out to be a perfect liar. You described my weeping in your miserable memoir in a scene which we both know did not take place!"
It's a great lampshade on all his weeping, and it's a moment that exists because the books exist in-universe. I will always be absolutely feral for moments in the series that refer to the books.

"I don't like any tvc books after queen of the damned" Lestat cuddles a big dog for 4 pages and gives him lots of little kisses and then reassures the reader nothing will happen to the dog, where else do I get content like this

Lestat trying to kill himself and instead ending up with a sexy tan is the most Lestat thing to ever happen

How did I forget Lestat burned down Louis’ house in TotBT??
Also there’s this choice insult:
“Miserable bastard son of a bitch!”

In Tale of the Body Thief, David asks Lestat where got his snazzy clothes and Lestat says,
“Oh, a little shop somewhere. I never steal the garments of my victims, if that’s what you mean. And besides, I’m too addicted to lowlife and they don’t dress well enough for that sort of thing.”
I love this because I always read it as a sort of dig at Armand. Like Armand may take clothes from victims like a filthy street urchin, but my taste is too refined for that!
Nevermind that Armand probably stopped doing that for the most part in the 80s and most of his clothes are probably custom handmade from some tailor in Italy. It probably isn’t actually meant that way—but you know Armand probably read it that way, too.
And it's also good insight into Lestat's character, and how he needs to dress fashionably to feel like himself and how how he prefers to hunt among the rogues, thieves, and murderers who would never dress like he aspires to. But reading it as a little snub in Armand's direction makes me happy.

Louis absolutely roasting Lestat will never not be brilliant 🔥 that monster line was almost too much. Louis knows well where to cut and twist the knife.
Also, Lestat does, in fact, weep, but he also never ever listens, so.
I'm on Louis' side, sorry not sorry, Lestat deserves to be roasted every once in a while.
