ok there’s a lot to say about pakitew island but like. the idea of an evil game show arena/torture camp with a land acknowledgement is very funny to me. chris is like i am so grateful to the cree for the land which i am using to torture one of their daughters as we speak.

It seems like a bad idea for Amy and Samey to have the exact same hairstyle.

This makes it easy for Amy to purposely give bad haircuts to her twin sister and for both of them to impersonate each other.

There could be more specific reasons for Amy to cut her twin’s hair other than just to tell her apart from Samey; and this means Samey should stand up for herself by changing her own appearance (if necessary) instead of letting her abusive sister give her undesirable makeovers.

My hot(?) animation takes

don't take these too seriously, just my opinions. Inspired by my friend @ginger-snap-talkin-nonsense's hot take saga thingy but less ig idk lol.

the future of animation is actually in a more interesting position than it was in the 2010s, thanks to the strikes and the pulling of animation from many "mainstream" services, I am expecting a huge rise in indie stuff.

2010s animation focusing more on lore than making enjoyable media has hurt animation more in the long run than helped. While this may seem like it could clash with my first statement, I think the first statement would have never happened if most series stuck to making enjoyable media that has some lore beats than making lore beats with no backdrop. This has caused companies to overall be more cautious even picking up series due to multitudes of reasons. While the prospect of indie animation is exciting, it will also lesser the chances of most animation getting good amount of attention.

Animation "fans" disrespecting offbeat shows like Fanboy and Chum Chum, Johnny Test, Teen Titans Go, and more is a crime. If those shows aired during the 90s, you would see them being called cult classics or built up as shows that made peoples childhoods. But because they aired during times where people wanted "better cartoons" AKA lore shows, they got the short end of the stick that they didn't deserve. Killing off an entire genre that made up cartoons for years for a good decade.

The 2000s was the most interesting era of cartoons, due to how many varieties there were and how many obscure cartoons there were. I can't think of any other era where multiple Canadian shows could get as much airtime as American ones. Where multiple companies tried to make original movies on DVDs, with a variety of quality. Where movies like "Grandma got Run Over By a Reindeer" and "Hoodwinked" could even exist. The amount of variety is insane when taking a deeper look, and besides the early years of animation, I don't think there has been any other era with that much variety before or since.

Chicken Little isn't that bad and isn't Disney's worst by a long shot. Home on the Range is way worse in every way

Total Drama Pakitew Island is one of the best seasons of the show

Tom was decently close to Courtney. However after Courtney got on total drama she just fully stopped talking to him. He tells people it was because she got famous but it was actually because he was a bad friend to her and they naturally drifted apart.

Keith watched the first episode of Pakitew island hoping she would shout him out of something but then lost interest and didn't watch any of the rest of the season. He found out about Dave through a clip sent to him by some random total drama fan.

Which ones would go to prep school prior to the beginning of the story in my Total Drama Urban Fantasy AU

You know how it's a common trope for a high school or middle school story to begin with the protagonists already in their 2nd year? Well I was thinking of doing that here as well for a few reasons

It would save the trouble the having to tweak anyone's design to make them look younger.

I want each season to cover a whole semester (or summer break in the case of every third season), meaning it would take 3 seasons to cover an entire year (which does seem to be becoming a more common practice in animation). Thus if we were to begin the AU in the Island cast's Freshman year, it would take 11 season for them to graduate high school.

It would make the questions are how much younger the ROTI cast than the Island easier to answer. As mentioned in one of my previous posts, I wasn't sure if I wanted the ROTI cast 2 grade below the Island cast or just 1 grade below them. If the AU begins with the Island cast already in their sophomore year, than the decision to make ROTI cast TWO grades below them is a no-brainer (at least from a Doylist prespective. This would in turn mean the Pakitew cast is 3 grades below the Island Cast.

However, I'd want to retain the idea of the majority of the characters not having met one another until the events the AU, which would be harder to do if they've all been attending the same high school for at least a year prior to the beginning of the story.

Another potential issue is that some might find it strange that all of them are attending the same kind of school. For example, I think it was canonically mentioned that Courtney goes to a prep school, and Cody's online bio mentions him going to a prep school as well.

So to address both of these problems (and explain in-universe why the story is beginning in their sophomore year), I would have the inciting incident be the local prep school be shut down due to mysterious circumstances, forcing its students to students to transfer to other schools.

I will now go over who would be attending this prep school until it's mysterious shutting down.

Chase- I know that's from the reboot, but in my AU, he (along with several other reboot characters) will be a couple years older than the Island cast. In this AU, his family actually runs the prep school in question. He may or may not have had a part in the school shutting down.

Cody- Like I already said, his online bio says he goes to a prep school.

Courtney- again, I'm pretty sure she attended a prep school in canon.

Harold- In this AU, he was a scholarship student

Heather- she comes from rich family, so I can see her attending a prep school.

Justin- he strikes me as someone who comes from a rich family too.

Lindsay- her bio says her family is rich, so yeah.

Noah- he was offered a scholarship but turned it down so he could continue to go to the same school as his friends Owen and Izzy

Trent and Ridonculous Race!Emma- as I've mentioned before, my AU would have Trent Emma and Kitty's stepbrother (and Devin would be their much younger half-brother). I would also have them be attending this posh school partly because I picture them coming from an upper middle class family, but also because I wanna retain the idea of Gwen and Trent not having met until the beginning of the story.

Tyler- he bio also suggests that he comes from a rich family and I also like the idea of him and Lindsay already being a couple at the start of the story.

I'd also like to add that the AU also features characters from 6teen so I'm throwing Caitlin Cooke (and her soon to-be-former friend, Tricia).

Edit: I'm also thinking of making Bridgette a former student with the in-universe explanation being that her mom was a teacher there (allowing Bridgette's mom to get an employee discount on Bridgette's tuition) until the school's mysterious shutting down. This way, I can retain the idea of Bridgette and Geoff not having met each other until the beginning of the AU, with the added bonus of making the ratio of former preppies and already-attending-public-schoolers more even.

Edit: Also, I was thinking of making Bridgette and Caitlin cousins in this AU, so even Bridgette's mom doesn't get an employee discount on Bridgette's tuition, I can see Caitlin's parents helping out, so Caitlin could attend the same school as he cousin.

Smol facts about my Total drama Au

- Dakota had afraid to held Atlantis when he was a baby because she was afraid to acidentally hurt him with her strengh

- my Dakota design in this Au

She is less taller and got her inteligence back.

- Dakota is very protective about Atlantis, especially because Dakota biological mom was a damn narcisist that didnt give a damn about her own daughter, so Dakota decided to became the oposite of Katrina

- Draken Milton fucked up Chris life, he is boss of an place of advocacy and is rich as fuck so he destroyed Chris reputation as he could, thats how Chris got his ass beaten

- Pakitew island was also a failure of audience in Total drama world
