I'm feeling a little excited about the part of my anthology I'm currently working on, so I'm gonna talk about it a little bit:

I started this ten years ago, took a long break, and finally have ideas for it again after seeing how it fits into the bigger picture of the anthology it's part of.

First of all, the entire anthology takes place on a planet called Saelitan that has partial convergent evolution with the planet Earth due to a similar environment and chemical makeup. There are, however, some differences. This planet is eventually colonized by humans. There is initially conflict with the native complex-primate species, but they learn to communicate with one another and for the most part they learn to co-exist, with the exception of the nation-continent of Alaren (and it's eventually discovered that this species can produce viable offspring with homo sapiens - but this is illegal in Alaren).

This species has a gland that, depending on genetics, can be used for a variety of psionic abilities (ability to use such abilities via the As-Yet-Unnamed Magic Gland is a recessive trait). Use of these abilities significantly depletes the body's energy resources and creates a highly flammable waste product in the process. Overuse or untrained use can lead to loss of consciousness, vascular issues, coma, spontaneous combustion, and death. Offspring of humans and Saelitanians have this gland and are, in very rare cases, able to use these abilities as well (to use them effectively, they need extensive training).

Anyway, the Saelitanians in Alaren who were capable of doing this collectively used their powers to open up a pocket dimension to help all the Alarenine Saelitanians take refuge from the humans without flooding the other countries/continents, with the intention of eventually coming back. Unfortunately, this pocket dimension is extremely inhospitable, to the point where they are forced to use their abilities to spontaneously mutate in order to adapt to its conditions. After this, the only psionic ability they have left is telepathy (a necessity because the "acoustics" of the pocket dimension can only be described as "fucked up", therefore it is hard to understand others when they speak to you with their mouths.) Their plans were left with a matriarchal clan of human/Saelitanian hybrids in a remote part of the northernmost continent of Toramai, in the countryside of the nation of Morkeina. They call themselves the Keepers of the Plan and function as a sort of spiritual organization, living in a communal space where they hone their psionic abilities.

Around the year STC 316, some rich asshole named Richard Silva in Alaren with delusional tendencies finds out about the Keepers of the Plan on his travels, has one of his buddies borrow the document and translate it and thinks, "hey, wouldn't it be cool if I made the events described in this document happen myself?" The return of the Saelitanians to the normal plane and the dissolution of the inhospitable pocket dimension were supposed to be brought about by "an extremely strong Saelitanian-human hybrid, with abilities that exceed any who preceded her". Silva and his family, like most people who live in Alaren, are fully human and have no Saelitanian in them at all, but he decides it would make him super cool if he were to breed this hybrid himself and make the events described in The Plan happen a whole lot sooner than they are supposed to - by about 200 years. He claims he's found a "prophecy". He starts a cult. He genetically engineers a daughter named Meredith, convinces people to worship her, and when she turns 15, a rift opens up at the headquarters of the Keepers of the Plan up in Toramai. Almost everybody at HQ dies except for a single Keeper who happens to be very talented with her psionic abilities, and is even able to use some defensive magic. Her name is Alina Galkin.

Much of Saelitan is rich in a variety of minerals that are rare on Earth. Mining and jewelry-making are extremely popular jobs, particularly in Alaren, most of Toramai, and some parts of Birousa. Up until the incident resulting from the premature return of the Saelitanians, it was considered strange for Alarenine adults to leave the house without wearing any mineral jewelry. After the incidents that ensue after Meredith's "awakening", the gem mines in Alaren were closed and mining "inessential" minerals was prohibited due to how both the Keepers of the Plan and the Silva family's cult used crystals as a hierarchical marker.

Fused Zamasu has arrived. Who will be the one to stop him from destroying all human race?
