I think it's time to the fanbase stop misremembering 02 as some sort of "very light and funsies" series and start talking about how there were some mild fricked up horror things in it.

Like, body horror always existed in 02. Not on Ghost Game levels, but it was there too.

And psychological horror was also present in both Adv'99 and 02. Again, mild compared to Ghost Game, but yeah.

This being in light of 02TB having quite a lot of psychological horror (which now I think enough people have seen that we can have proper discussion about it instead of relying purely on the hearsay of rumors that often tended to up-play or exaggerate how bad it got in the movie), I definitely agree that the movie was intense about it in a way that you wouldn't expect on the Sunday morning kids' TV show slot, but nevertheless, I definitely have seen people act like a discussion of child abuse or a portrayal of psychological/body horror is Not My Digimon or something. 02's always been about psychology, family and interpersonal drama, and stuff along that lines, so at worst it's just the usual taken to another level. And as you said, Ghost Game exists, on the exact same time slot the original series had at that, and I personally still think much of the body horror in that series was far more extreme than the 5 minutes of what we got in 02TB.

Of course, I don't agree with up-playing anything Digimon with how dark and disturbing and edgy it can get because I dislike that kind of edginess syndrome that only cares about how many people are suffering in a given series. (But of course, I know you know that too, I'm saying that for anyone else reading that post.) But it's also insulting to act like the original series only had light, fluffy things where none of this bad stuff ever happened. At best, you can only say it wasn't as intense; the roots were always there.

When i couldn't resist to watch the OP preview i saw the shot of Daisuke having MORE PAIRS OF DUMB SHADES AND I HAD THIS MIGHTY URGE TO SEE YOUR REACTION TO THAT PART LIKE

We joked about this in March (me) and April (your post on Daisuke Week) and i'm still SHOOK ABOUT THAT 🤣🤣🤣

(this movie and collabs just proved that most of my dumb headcanons were right all this whole time and i don't know how to deal with it... Been like this since July 2019 hhhhhhhh)

THAT WAS SO GREAT. Honestly there are a few screenshots I need to collect from this movie when it comes out on home release so I can linger over them and appreciate them, and Daisuke's shades drawer is definitely one of them (bet you can guess one of the others!) XD

This is a (side)blog focused on Oowada Rui and Ukkomon from the 02 movie "THE BEGINNING" and there might be spoilers, but tagged properly as 02tb spoilers -- so please add this one in the filters in case you don't want to see spoilerish discussion/art/posts.

That said... I felt in love with Rui since his adult design, name and VA was announced. Some of my old art/stuff featuring him was wild speculation until now.

Status: Currently on depression season + trying to work on a few personal projects (YPD is one of them)

I’ve been thinking about a thing – based on private roleplaying stuff – what would’ve happened with Ken if he had been friends with the five 02 kids before the 02 TV series' events?

Like, would their influence have prevented him from becoming the Digimon Kaiser? Or wouldn’t have altered anything in the plot and he would still go into the Kaiser route? 🤔

I think Ken might have been prevented from being the Kaiser, but someone else would have taken the role (Ken was picked because his situation made him convenient for Oikawa and co., not because there was anything particularly unique about him). But for Ken himself, I think they might have been a much better support group for getting through his brother's death, et cetera.

Oops, sorry for no updates...!! Kizuna has stolen my heart, some decisions also were taken (which you probably saw on my artblog & Dai-Vee askblog, @digitalgate02 & @tomorrows2top respectively) and i will need more time to re-organize my ideas and concepts before progressing the story.

I might not edit the previous chapters, but I will be re-reading them before to keep working on the current one & the future ones.

I won't write/draw AUs or Stories/Fanfictions, OCs or even headcanons/theories from other people. Even the old ones i've collaborated with i prefer to not touch them again (because, i lost contact with people and also lost all the posts/details of them )

Please avoid sending me many of "what do you think of [X]" questions because sometimes those kiiiinda make me get no idea what to answer, or perhaps i've been answered/posted something related to it before. Even so, if you would like to send one of those, first check if i hadn't answered it or something similar to it first!

At this moment, this blog is me being delusional about the AU thingy on the pinned post. Most of those posts might be about them.

My memory is foggy about certain series, so if i end up misremembering something... Yeah, please contact me asap.

I know i've said this on countless accounts but, I have little to zero knowledge of the American dub, so my portrayal/answers/headcanons/etc are all based on the original Japanese version and sometimes stuff borrowed from the BRPT dub (which is mostly the same as the original JP for most of the series -- except Fusion). So please, don't assume that I had watched the US dub or that I am American.

My stance on the digimon (monsters) are that there's more than one of each species within the multiverse. So, Daisuke's V-mon/Magnamon, OG & Reboot Taichis' Agumon/Omegamon and Takato's Guilmon/Dukemon are not related to the Royal Knights.

I will follow all canon material if possible when working with canon versions of the characters, BUT only what i can work with. If something gets in conflict with the main TV series (Adv99-02-Tamers-Frontier-Savers-XW-Appmon-Adv2020-GG) i will reject the contradictions and use only the stuff not affected or influenced by it. Basically playing with the idea the events we know in certain media are played differently in-universe, adopted from Pixiv Dictionary. Explained better by Shiha in this post here.

I don't like passive-aggressiveness. If you have something to correct in my posts, please do it politely.

Usual common etiquette -- No hatred towards people's religions, sexual/romantic orientation, gender (or lack of), PoC, ethnicities, etc. I won't hesitate to block if needed.
