It's been forever since I last drew actual realism from photo but I was like "How about I make Todd Stashwick's Drakken blue and more cartoon accurate?" and then everything rolled downhill and this is what I ended up with. I don't really like the end result but I also don't want to throw it away just like that. Learning process yaaaay 😂😂😂 See drawing process below (at one point it gave semi Béla Lugosi vibes. I cannot escape Dracula my beloved).
The Star Trek page on twitter asked recently about our favourite scenes from Picard season 3. It‘s truly hard to decide, but the one that hit closest to home for me, on a personal level, was Shaw‘s brilliant Wolf 359 monologue. And because I can‘t help myself, I had to paint it too.
I wanted it to be bright and colourful further in the background, but with darkness directly behind his back. Symbolizing that all it would take for him was to turn around to face his demons, and to see that he is running from a darkness that‘s not all he truly is.
Also Todd acted his socks off in this scene. It was just perfect.
Something to go along with the series I’ve been doing of the live action Hades mimicking his animated counterpart.
The wonderful actor (Todd Stashwick), who played Drakken in the live action Kim Possible, was funny enough to comment on one of my Hades drawings. He pointed out that Hades isn’t the only vaguely blue Disney villain that’s been turned to live action. With that, I knew a Drakken set was inevitable
