I know a lot of hozier fans say that they don't like Take Me to Church anymore cause it's overplayed but I've listened to it countless times and honestly it's still a banger. I don't understand the hate
The first time you see him in the brothel, you call dibs, your eyes fixed on the way his throat moves when he swallows his drink. The madam replies that you are too sweet for him – he needs experienced girls. “He’s more generous than you’ll ever meet when it comes to money, but his appetite and size are also generous”, she says, giving you a lewd smirk. “I’m not sure you’re ready.” A skeptical look on your face, your eyes follow his loose, slightly bowlegged gait up the stairs and into a room. Somewhat intimidated by her answer, but mostly intrigued, you decide to ask the other girls about him later. The next time he comes into town, he hears that you have been asking for him. Eyebrow raised in a question; he inquires if you’ll be able to handle him. His dark eyes study you from across the bar, watching as you chat with another girl; your face breaking into a smile at something she says. “All the men love how sweet she is”, the madam replies, looking at you appraisingly. “I think you might like her.”
The second I saw this scene it made me think of TMTC and I just had to make something. If you haven’t read this spectacular fic please do.
hi, sorry for the random update and dropping by but i just received a comment and a gift on ao3, and it inspired me to dig out a chapter i had written a few months ago, so...
i updated "too much to calculate".
ok, so, i have to say, thank you so much for all the hits and kudos, it's fucking surreal that you guys like this story!
but yeah, i'm just here, no pretty banners or anything, but a link to chapter 32. FINALLY.
oh, and sorry for the wait. i said it there and i'll say it here, the story has too many possible endings and i couldn't decide on one. fortunately i guess you can thank @lgnimbus for the breakthrough.
they left a comment talking how they realized something during one of carl's therapy sessions and, as meta as it is, that comment made me realize something, and i was able to choose one out of five 'chapters 32' previously written.
go figure! i spent two years trying to decide and a comment came through and bam, done, thank you ma'am.
yes i revised it, yes i like this one route i'm taking, yes carl is still fucking annoying, no the fights are not over, yes i'm a dick for that, no i don't know when the next chapter will come.
you just have to trust the process because "resolution" is not part of my vocabulary or my plans and again, i'm a dick for that. sue me lol
anyway, here it is, chapter 32 of "too much to calculate"
hozier: I’ve just been told #TakeMeToChurch passed 2 billion streams on @Spotify.
I just wanna say a massive thank you to everyone who continues to listen to, share in and enjoy that song, it’s one I’m proud of and I’m thrilled to see it still has home in people’s hearts 🖤
When Din wants to play a game, Girl isn’t gonna give in that easy — she doesn’t want to, she wants to make him work for it, but she also knows he wants to be made to work for it.
“You’re friend doesn’t seem too interested in me,” Din drawls, tugging Gracie’s pliant body onto his lap, his eyes drifting from the swell of her breasts to you, standing by the door of your bedroom. A smile curls at the edge of your mouth as you try to stay in character, your fingers playing with the buttons at the top of your dress.
“Oh, she’s just shy. Aren’t you honey?” Gracie turns to you, extending an arm and you stay right where you are, Din’s eyes narrowing.
Gracie turns back to Din, curling one arm around his neck, the other tracing the line of his jaw. She leans in, breathing into his ear.
He keeps his eyes on you.
“I think you might have to convince her, baby,” Gracie coos. “She likes to play a little hard to get.”
