I need a teacher Jon au but he teaches while IN the institute. My boy tutors in his free time because he's a nerd. Imagine your an assistant doing a follow up with Jon somewhere and some little kid or teen or smth comes up to your very strict and awkward boss like "Hi Mr. Sims!!" no don't cry, jmart heartstopper AU where jon was bullied and sort of an outsider but has a couple solid friends (tim and sasha) and martin is a soft-spoken, shy rugby player who is a teddy bear but terrified that one day they'll all just turn on him and martin is forced to join jon's journalism club for extra curricular points but keeps missing it cause his mum would be mad if he wasn't home immediately and all the meetings are after school so they meet when martin's pen explodes and jon begrudgingly helps him and they FALL!! IN!! LOVE!!!

daycare au where Jon decides to become a daycare teacher because of the daycare teacher who helped him process his father's, and his mother's death in the cold care of his stern grandmother, but he's got social anxiety and a touch of the 'tism and - according to his field supervisor - doesn't know how to relate very well to other people and needs to learn how to be more polite.

Anyway, on his first day, he finds out he's not just a new employee but head teacher for the cactus room. Thankfully, he already knows two of his new co-teachers, who graduated from the same prep program a couple years ahead of him. Thankfully, Sasha and Tim were transferred from other classrooms and have a bit of experience.

The last co-teacher, though.

If it weren't for the certifications in Martin's file that he's triple checked, he'd think the guy has even less experience than him. In the first hour alone, the useless ass ruined snack time, music time, and tripped into the little fish pond at the edge of the playground.

So ensues Jon practicing communication techniques with tiny humans, dealing with snotty crying toddlers, figuring out how to make shift schedules, and learning that parents are fifty times worse than the kids...

...and somehow falling in love with one Martin K. Blackwood who's neverending positivity, bottomless spill-proof tea mug, and morning person energy both annoy and impress him.

...

And maybe everyone else in the classroom ships it so Tim and Sasha conspire with 4 year old Amy Patel when she was in her "everyone needs to get married and have babies" phase while her mommy was pregnant with her little brother, ending up with everyone agreeing that the kids need to practice throwing the rice and Tim and Sasha are the only ones tall enough to hold the handmade flower arch up so Jon and Martin have to be the ones to get married which ends with Martin turning a frankly embarrassing shade of magenta pink and while Jon determinedly stares at the bridge of Martin's nose to please the kids who have worked their way into his heart while trying to pretend he didn't have a scarily similar dream a couple months ago.

Considering writing a teacher!Jon AU where he's the newly hired english teacher at the Jonah Magnus Comprehensive (mag-comp for short); a private all-boys boarding school turned state school some time in the 90s. Which may or may not be infamously haunted (not that Jon belives in any of that. of course. even if he does teach in the oldest, dare I say spookiest part of campus). Featuring the archival staff as fellow teachers and most of the avatars as students. Shenaigans, romance and maybe something a bit deeper ensue.

i am perhaps a little bit late to posting this, seen as i wrote this first chapter over 2 years ago, however it only just occurred to me to share it here. if anyone decides to check it out- enjoy!

“You want to what?” martin asked incredulously “I want to become a teacher,” Jon sighed.

- - - after the end of the world, Jon takes up a teaching position at a secondary school, and encounters a group of curious cryptid conspiracy theorists (who also happen to be his students). as their investigation on their new English teacher advances, Sam, Nat, Oliver and Ash experience some unintended consequences- and realise something deeper may be at work.

Jon is an incompetent history teacher and the class love him cause he's so bad at hiding his incompetence that it comes off as funny and if they ask the right questions about Napoleon you can derail the whole lesson. They do hate him sometimes though because all he'll ever do is make them take notes from the textbook. No variety in that man. He shows up with a briefcase, looking impeccable in a 3 piece suit and then scatters pieces of paper all over his desk and clutches his hair in frustration before getting to work on said papers and just about remembers to tell the class to take notes from page 355 to 370. They call him sir and he jumps like he's forgotten he's in a classroom full of people. He occasionally glances over at Ms James and Mr Stoker's classes and his frown gets incrementally deeper. His class grumbles that they seem to be having a lot more fun than they are. There are numerous bets about when Ms James and Mr Stoker will get together, although a large number think they're already together.

Every lesson, Mr Blackwood knocks on the door, offering Mr Sims tea. He seems to visibly tense when seeing him and then just as visibly relax upon drinking this cup of tea. A couple of the students don't like how Mr Sims dismisses him with a nod and never a thank you and have formed somewhat of a Mr Blackwood Support Club. Nobody is quite sure what Mr Blackwood does but he's usually either at the printer with a grimace, being shouted at by Mr Sims or making tea. He'll always smile at you when you walk past, no matter which of the three he is doing. One day a student walks in on them making out. They back away as quickly as possible and try to scrub their eyes out. They don't tell a soul because however scary Mr Sims could be, all he could really do was shout, but Mr Blackwood could make your life a whole lot worse. Never again would the printer work for you and you'd never get a good cup of tea ever again.

thinking about a TMA au in the universe of ATLA/LOK

jon is the avatar (obviously)

maybe he realized he was the avatar later in life. he was raised as an earthbender and had a different life ahead of him, but he discovered his abilities, and now he struggles hard to fill the shoes of the avatar who came before him

fire came to him easily, but air was the most difficult. hard to let go of all your earthly attachments when carrying your burden is all you know

elias is an airbender

he was chosen to train the next avatar, but was a bad influence on him. he pushed jon towards becoming a weapon, perfect for the broken system to use against its enemies. maybe jon learned what he was up to and disagreed with his teacher's ideals. maybe he ran away because of it

martin is a waterbender

he got his element from his father, who, of course, disappeared. his mother never taught it to him the right way because it reminded her too much of him. she forced him to waterbend the way she learned to earthbend, before she wasn't strong enough to teach him anything anymore. he didn't understand how he managed to fool his way into teaching the avatar himself waterbending, but he certainly isn't complaining about the benefits of his new situation. (other than the said new avatar being a bit of a dick)

tim is a firebender

he never channeled his fire from rage, always got it from his love for his friends. until he lost danny. he hides it well, but sometimes the rage inside him creates a firestorm on the outside too

sasha isn't a bender

she didn't need to be born a bender though to have talent. she's very intelligent and tends to be the planner for any missions this hypothetical "team avatar" goes on. people often take her for granted though, or treat her poorly because she's not a bender, even if she can typically keep up with the benders just the same

melanie is a firebender

she always had a burning fire within her, rage and passion mixing into one. but she glowed bright enough to burn anyone who stepped too close, metaphorically. and sometimes literally.

basira is an earthbender

she was always sturdy when daisy needed a shoulder to lean on. unshaking in her loyalty towards her. she had the strength to push through her problems. she didn't always know when was the right time to soften up

daisy is an airbender

air is the element of freedom, and daisy had way too much of it. the freedom to use her powers against others, get them hurt or killed, if it was in the law's name. i think she used the "pushing the air out of a person's lungs" trick way too much. (and during her confrontation with jon)

georgie used to be an earthbender

used to be. of course, when she was in uni, her school was attacked by a bloodbender. many students went missing during the incident, forced to drop to their knees, and haven't been seen since. georgie though she might've be lucky, having gotten away, with her chi being permanently blocked as the only consequence

might talk more about this but i have enough WIPs so i don't think i want start another entire fic, just little snippets at most
