I am being dragged back into swordboy hell (aka Touken Ranbu). After years I finally unlocked the Kiwame feature though! Uh... I now got an excuse to play more often.
So anyways! I debated and I think I'm over stuff now. Thus, I can comfortably add Kashuu Kiyomitsu back to my list! Welcome back Kashuu! You were technically first but I will still call you Ramuda-Coded!

thinking about tkrb once again...

I told myself I was going to at least get Kiwame Akita to level 99, got to level 80, and just...felt numb. There are nineteen days of Summer Regiment left, so if nothing else that's plenty of time to take a break and then come back, in theory. But for the moment, even though my plan was to take as many pictures as I could, I just can't look at my Citadel right now.
I think the reason this sudden shutdown hurts--more than the time spent--is that because TKRB relies so much on the player creating their own story, the undercurrent of this whole situation is "Your stories don't matter."
So the Great Invasion? That amazing moment where both JP and EN servers fought together against an encroaching threat, saving each others' stories in the process? That moment of cross-national bonding over wanting to protect what we loved? That didn't matter.
But it did, the devs' efforts made it matter. The promos, the sudden UI shift that added a new layer to the setting, actual story segments...there was real effort and passion on display, echoing the players'. Will the devs work be cast aside too, so easily?
Of course, there's some revenge to be had: I'll keep my swords, Saniwa OC, and the Citadel they lived in in my heart. When it hurts less, I'll imagine their daily lives again, the complicated harem I envisioned, and perhaps any new swords who catch my eye will join them.

Someone I follow keeps posting Ensamble Stars content, so I do the completely reasonable thing and look into enstars. I had. A time.
'I see then! So its a mobile game?' I think to myself, 'cool cool cool, not in the market for more gatcha boys to collect rn though- I dont even do my touken ranbu dailys I've abandoned my honkai impact and fire emblem heros accounts for years my cookie run kingdom is collecting dust and there are so many other gatch games I've played for less then a week. theres no way.'
Time passes and I'm bored and sad so you know what? I want rythm games! Enstars is a rythm game, why not that? So I trounce onto Google Play and get myself this fancy new fangled ol 'Ensamble Stars Music' or whatever with the sparkly reddish brown haired pretty boy on the cover and boot it up.
Meet myself this 'Hiiro' guy with an overly friend country character and this blond haired idol fanatic city kid who I still cant remember the name of- so on so fourth I'm charmed. Im thinking 'ok ok ok this is a cute cast! I like them! Older idol veteran with an old injury and very christian? Cool, would probably give me tea and have high level philosophy discussions with me. Suspecious purple hair? Cool I know like 3 tkrb characters off the top of my head youd get on with. But like who are these sparkly TrickStars I keep hearing about? And why can't my self insert producer interact with my mcs????'
I keep going, see this cool sparkle event or whatever and meet Subaru (definitely a better person then the first subaru character I knew, that's for sure.) And like cool, he's gonna be my ace I guess so I can blow through the story or whatever. I'm looking at the gatcha and cant find the rates, so on so fourth. Something feels odd though- only 4 story chapters? I'm kind of blowing through them and theres no time barrier here. I bet theres gonna be a huge drop off in how many diamonds I can get, I don't see any daily challenges or whatever that have a consistent diamond reward. Also only paid diamonds can use the gaurenteed 5 pull? Yeesh. This is *not* a game to collect em all, just max out whoever you're lucky enough to pull I guess. Unless of course something changes post story levels.
but I keep going and I'm just??? Who Are these trickstars? And why is the game story treating me like I should be recognizing not just them but baisically this entire cast save for ALKALOID and Crazy:B?
So I do some more reaserch...
and you can't be serious.
What do you MEAN they translated the sequal story and not the original story??????????
So I actually am the producer associated with these trickstar guys and ALKALOID is the sequal to see the other side of the coin???
THERES AN ENTIRE ANIME ABOUT THEM????
So I guess wiki diving is my only option... geez, is a full localization too much to ask? (Speaking from way too much experience with incomplete localizations =w=')

For Your Consideration // Literally No One Asked
A game similar to KanColle or TKRB or FoodFan that instead of ships or swords or food it’s musical instruments and it’s a rhythm game that coincides with a combat system fighting against demons/enemies that wish to take music away from the world and leave it in monochrome.
Oh, but imagine that there would be different instruments from different time periods to reflect how music was treated by society. Or something.
The player character is a conductor who’s just starting out in the world. Unfortunately, because not many people create or listen to music that much anymore, there really wasn’t much “worth” in a music career. Player character has always been fascinated with music, though. They’ve had an inner “color” so to speak. They’ve gone through the motions of daily life for almost all their life and finally when they have the chance to pick their own fate, they jump on it. Music appeals to them. They can’t imagine why people don’t create or listen to analyze it anymore.
But the player character lands themself into deep trouble. They’d purchased their first starter instrument (probably guitar, violin, or trumpet- something easy to carry by hand and something that’s often seen with buskers) and someone’s chasing them, screaming “heretic! lunatic! anarchist!” or something like that and trying to take their instrument away. Or maybe the person chasing them is after them for money from busking or even just to chase them down to harm them. Maybe they’ve been influenced by those who have been taking music out of the world. The player character is trapped in an alleyway with no way out. They don’t drop their instrument, but instead hold it protectively behind them. Their starter instrument is their life, their reason to be happy, in all sense of the word, them.
But the person approaches, pushing them down and reaching for them. Just as they cringe away, they hear the sound of someone yelling “get away from them!” and the person is knocked over.
In front of them, stands... someone. They’re holding the player character’s instrument in hand at a resting position in preparation to play as they stare the person down.
“You were the person who gave life to me... so I will protect your life with all that I have!“
And then the battle tutorial will commence.

I suddenly made another project. As in outlines and stuffs for a new fic and like, I have so many things to do still!
Why am I like this???!?? And Maribat again?! Why not TKRB????
I still have to unearth my OCs because that fic includes loads of OCs as kids. Already had names and visuals and just need few touch ups.
Still need to outline the pastel colored patisserie and Marinette's daily life. And maybe a few little things like schedule of the week?
And have to do a 'How does it work?!' for Jason & Marinette's relationship. Need to unearth my 'How to write Maribat ships' that I made months ago.
Guess I'm taking this nice and slow.
