Quick digital sketch, inspired by the distant deserts and mountains glimpsed in the Throne World's skybox on Destiny 2.

It is said that there is no difference between Savathûn's Throne World and her mind. But no mind is without its dark corners, and for keeping the inner shadows at bay, she devised her Aberrant Wardens. Outriders and scouts, they patrol the furthest lands of her realm, gliding over deserts, seas and mountains only ever glimpsed by Guardians, spending weeks at a time without seeing another Hive. There, they prune her discordant thoughts, and keep the Throne World's fauna and other phenomena in check.

I don't get how Savathun's throne world is still intact. Logically, I know its because it has to be for gameplay reasons, but to my knowledge throne worlds are meant to collapse after the true deaths of their owners? Maybe the fact that its still there tells us a bit about how Ghosts work? Maybe there's just enough of Savathun within Immaru that the throne world stays intact

Savathun's throne world is intact because it's powered by the Light through the Wellspring!

We don't have many additional details, but yeah, it's because of the Light essentially. This is also why we're constantly fighting in the Wellspring against the Scorn, as we don't want to lose the throne world.
