Back on my bullshit of Fyodor absolutely could have and did fall for the contacts and fake teeth because he was too sure of himself to even question whether Chuuya could be lying to him.
Yes, he can memorize the marks he made on a deck of cards and that's very impressive. But Show me one time he even looked Chuuya in the face.

Because he literally doesn't. Chuuya is constantly standing at a distance or behind Fyodor, he is purposely always out of his of sight line.
The closest Fyodor comes to looking directly at Chuuya is in these moments.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Though I would argue his attention is more on the door than Chuuya here. When Fyodor turns around, Chuuya has already leapt into action, once again keeping his face obscured from Fyodor and keeping his back to him when he's being watched.
Tumblr media
He even drags Fyodor through the water in such a way that his face isn't in Fyodor's direct view. Chuuya's head is turned forward and away from him.
Fyodor fell for the contacts and fake teeth because Fyodor never considered Chuuya a person, he was just another faceless pawn to him.

The real reason they broke up: Ulrike caught Helena lookin'
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I gave up on making Helena's face match the reference (and her mouth also ended up slightly crooked in all my tweaking), but it gets the point across. Even though they're not super extreme, I am proud of the facial expressions since it's the first time I've done them completely from scratch.

One of the many, many things I loved about "Big Week" was this: the first person Ted asks out on a date is Sassy. There's been a whole lot of drivel from fandom about how Sassy is awful for sleeping with Ted even at times when he's feeling sad, as if it's manipulative or unethical — which is such a goddamn 9th-grader view of how sex among actual adults work — but this episode shows very clearly that Ted is an eager, not to say instigating, participant in their sex-nanigans.
And thanks in part to Sassy, Ted's finally, FINALLY starting to think about dating. In the second season, he makes a comment about "wouldn't it be great if I found my soulmate on Bantr?" but as far as canon has shown, he never even made an account. But I think Michelle having a boyfriend has prompted Ted to look around in earnest. Not, I think, out of a "I'll show her" mentality (a trap that far too many divorced men fall into), but because he's actually thinking about what he wants the rest of his life to look like, now that Michelle will not be sharing it.
I don't think Ted is necessarily thinking about sharing a life with Sassy, either. We know Ted is a romantic, and he likely wouldn't ask anyone out just for shits and giggles; but he's also been friends with serial dater Beard for decades, and has been around soccer and football players to boot. He understands the concept of casual dating, and it's very possible that he would've been fine with casually dating Sassy.
But he's also ready to go further with her if that's what ends up happening; he likes her enormously, finds her funny, appreciates her for who she is. And she likes him too! So I don't think it can be ignored that, when Ted first starts thinking "who would be a good match for me," he thinks of Sassy.

i can't get rocky horror picture show. i feel like for it to have appeal to you, it needed to have been formative media and a sexual awakening of sorts. watched it a couple years ago coming from 1. already being out of the closet for years, 2, knowing the reputation rhps has both with the transmisogyny and theater nerds. i was gonna approach it for what it was, and i hoped to at least find some appreciation as a pulp sci fi enjoyer. but what made the most disappointed in the end is that for its reputation, it was not nearly as weird or transgressive or as queer as other 70s movies i know of or have seen. i had already seen phantom of the paradise by that point so my expectations for weird rock operas were set much higher, and i expected more of the pulpiness that it promised. i can appreciate the acting, art direction, some of the music, and i can understand what it meant to people, but there are way better and more entertaining and weirder 70s movies out there. i watched it in a double feature with shock treatment and i liked shock better. if you want a better pulp sci fi sex comedy with questionable elements, watch flesh gordon (1974)

the only i repeat ONLY gypsy rose blanchard discourse i am willing to entertain is how she got her hair to look that good in prison. truly it always looks sooo beautiful like as a fellow wavy/curly my hair doesn't look like that even with access to ample products and styling in the outside world. someone tell her it's time to drop the hair routine next
