Hello!! I followed you for your absolutely amazing Twisted Wonderland comics (thank you for making them, by the way-) but I saw you posting about something called Ride Kamens? I haven’t heard of it before, what’s it about? Or if that’s a bit much to ask, where could I find more info about it? It seems right up my alley 👀

Ride Kamens is still doing prerelease marketing and isn't out yet; it's set for "early summer 2024", so a bit yet to go! similar to Twst, it's a mobile game about anime boys loosely based on an existing franchise (Kamen Rider), although it seems like it's going to be more standalone/won't require familiarity with Rider going in.

the (very) basic premise is that your player character has just taken over their late father's role as a secret agent, supporting the city's superheroes by running a secret base disguised as a cafe (plus you have a personal butler for some reason) (the reason is because it's amazing). you also have to help the heroes regain their lost memories, and it looks like it'll have a bit of a route/choice aspect there (not romance, just different endings to the character episodes depending on what you do). the details are kinda hard to tell at this point but the characters seem like a really fun bunch; there's definitely big "idiots with emotional problems" energy which I am extremely into.

all the official info is in Japanese only at the moment, but here's the website and the ride_kamens twitter! (though the twitter is sort of overtaken by posts about the AnimeJapan exhibit right now, whoops.) and I believe some people are already planning on doing translations for it too? lots to look forward to! :D

lately i've been finding it so so hard to be positive and hopeful. and it's making me so bitter and hateful. i hate it but i dont know what to do about it

#idk it's just all too much to deal w #i have sm pains and physical discomforts. money issues. stress bc my avpd is making school very hard for me to finish #i have suicidal thoughts and really bad anxiety every single day. i've basically begged the mental health care system for help for 7 months #like i've kept contacting them and asking them but they havent done anything at all for me. i dont even get to see anyone and talk #i just dont know what to do or how to handle it #im so stressed abt the future. i have to finish school but then choose smth so i can go to school/get a degree & get a job #im holding my mom down and back and i need to find a way to kove out from her and support myself #i have no friends to meet or hangout with and destress with etc etc and im really feeling the lack of it #idk the list just goes on and on and on #nothing is working and idk how to fix it. but also i know that me and only me have to find a way bc there is no help #i struggle bc of my avpd and mental health but there is no treatment for me to get. they just dont wanna give me *any* help at all #im just so frustrated. and every day is the same. everyday is full of some physical pain anxiety stress worries suicidal thoughts etc etc #i cant break free idk how!!!! my life is so fkn boring and pathetic and miserable #i never get to relax bc all of a sudden last year i got extremely noise sensitive. and it's never quiet anywhere in this city #anyway yeah i could just keep going. and like now im feeling anxious bc my tooth is aching :((#it -everything- never stops or lets up or relents. and it makes me wanna die even more.#so... idk im just incapable of being hopeful abt anything and that's really killing me idk

finally finished all of one character's entire quests/optional dialogue/questions/etc.... 100,000 words... .... aughhh

#Given some of it IS lines of code and stuff but like.. minus all that it's still probably at least 85 - 95k words hhhhhh #AND I have to do this for another 3 characters. Then a few partial quests for 3 others. THEN the other random misc stuff in the game #(like there are public areas in the city like a park and a forest that you can go and do a few things at. and chat with a few random #townsfolk that aren't actually full characters or anything. And there's a community board where you can #browse some of the random job advertisments or silly things that happen to be posted around #and also pick up a few odd jobs of your own to help earn coin to buy gifts for the npcs. etc. etc.)#Originally I was thinking like 'ah I'll make a short little game just to try it out! :3 It'll take maybe a few months!''#haha........................hee hee........................................hoho #Also evil that it would have been done already if I didn't totally drop itand stop working on it for like 5 years randomly #i could have made 5 years of steady slow progress gradually. instead of like 'one initial idea dump + about a month of art and writing'#...... 5 year break..... 'sudden mad dash to try to get probably 400.000 words written in a year or less' lol #I just really want to be done and have something out there already so it can lead to doing other things in my world..!!!!!! T o T #Like this can be an introduction and then maybe from that I can make other games. or short story anthologies. or other such things #But there needs to be some initially not very complex easy to interact with starting point first I guess... if that makes sense #That's part of why I stopped posting worldbuilding lore dump stuff as often because its' like.. massive walls of novella length #text are much more inacessible to engage with than like.. ooh a game! and there's characters! so its more approachable! and theres #visuals! oo! and the text is broken up in small bits line by line with other things in betwen! oo! etc. etc. lol #Not that THIS is even very accessible. I think dialogue heavy interactive fiction/visual novel type stuff is pretty niche and considered #boring or tedious compared to something with more ''gamplay'' like where you can actually move around in a world #and shoot things or whatever lol. But its an inbetween point. something SLIGHTLY #more accesible for now. Since i just dont have the budget or means or ability to make some skyrim type thing obviously LOL #Though maybe if theres any interest in the visual novel that could lead to making other things too. or at least I hope. I have a VERY cool #idea for a more ''gamey'' type of game that is a super fun concept and etc. but I would need to hire at least 2 people to make it.. ough..#I could do all the writing and probably half of the art. But I think I'd inevitably need a 3d artist and someone who can Code For Real hbjh #the system for ren'py (the thing I'm making a visual novel in) is not that complicated if you stick to just simple dialogue and stuff.#Making a whole moderately sized 3d game with minigames in it and a bunch of quest features and etc. would be out of my simplistic scope #''just learn it yourself!!' ... i barely manage to eat and sleep reliably every day lol... i do not function well enough to spend months #learning that many new skills. I already have a lot of of things I'm good at (not in a braggy way but just factually like.. i already have #a wide variety of different things under my belt).. at some point I have to just be happy with what i CAN already do and focus on that #and admit I need to get outside help sometimes ghjbh... NO more new skills/hobbies!!! ... ANYWAY

when will this bloody exam be over with I want to go to uni already!! Good Lord

#[.txt]#looking over at my history course. At the monastery I'll be hosted in. At the medieval city I'll be moving to. Can it be september already.#I cannot emphasize enough how much i don't care about my final grade for this exam. 20% of it is math and my teacher was terrible #so it's not as if I can hope to get a good grade anyways! And the money prize is only for 110/100 marks so who cares about it going well.#I just want it gone and passed with a 60. Please. It's a useless exam in any case.#literally it was just made so private schools could give out the same qualifications and there has GOT to be a better way to do that.#OR. Or just have an exam at the end of each year. Why only on the last. man #tomorrow I have the essay (20%) and the day after math (another 20%) and my final interview for another 20% is on the fifth of July #and I already have a full 37/100 credits so I just need 23 points. Which between the essay and the interview I'm sure to get. let me outttt

I keep thinking about the pigeon from yesterday and wondering if the vets at the wildlife rescue place were able to help it :(

#ramblings #i know my friend took a crow there and said they usually can't tell u how the animal is but i'm so tempted to call and ask #but i shouldnt bc they're busy and don't need me distracting them from their work #and it's ridiculous to care so much about a pigeon in a city full of pigeons but i saw the hawk trying to kill it and then saw the pigeon #just sit there and didnt realise how hurt it was until it was still sitting there 2 hrs later which is when i took it to the rescue place #i just hope it wasn't in too much pain:((#this is one of those moments where i realise i could never ever go back to eating meat #i asked the vet if there is anything i can do to protect the pigeons from the hawk and she said well it's nature the hawk has to eat sth #and i know she's right and thats how it works and it's all part of nature but it still made me rly sad #anywayssss will delete this later but i feel ridiculous telling ppl irl how upset i am about a random pigeon #so tag ramblings it is!!!

IT'S DONE. I'M DONE.

535 hours across 5 complete playthroughs, dear BG3 you are going on the shelf until I can look at you again. xDD

the last run was super fun, the tactician difficulty definitely made me more involved/finally got me using scrolls and various potions and elixirs instead of hoarding them till (and past) the very end

i even managed to accomplish the most difficult thing in the whole game and saved all the gondians (if you know, you know)

maybe I'll attempt an honor run one day, but this is not the day

#bg3 playthrough #Astarion's run was a mixed bag for most of the companion outcomes #he didn't dissuade anyone away from their wants #so gale and wyll got way different endings than what i usually go for #karlach's no more #so is lae'zel #halsin's fine #Shadowheart's fine living quiet life with Astarion in the countryside #the game was definitely worth the full price several times over #though i admit it's mostly the companion storylines that make it shine plot-wise #the overarching plot does try to spoon-feed you social commentary every now and again #i swear the whole refugee thing made me roll my eyes more than once #i still think the name sucks for a group of people who lived like 1-2 hours away by car from the city of Baldur's Gate #like 100-150 miles maybe #come on #survivors from elturel would've been better #on the same note trying to sell the city as some sort of beacon of light/hope when you see that every other house has a murder basement #'jewel of coast' indeed #a grand unpolished kidney stone more like it

Yay! I got a ticket to the at.tention theater/circus/performance festival!

So even if I end up not getting a ticket to the fusion, I have one guaranteed week of camping & watching cool shit.

#Like I am still hoping for a fusion ticket and my dad and me have already decided that #even if we don't get lucky and get a ticket before it starts we'll still try until Friday #and if we still gotten our tickets then we'll get a Sunday ticket #We both kinda hate the Saturday so it's currently still uncertain if we'd pay a full ticket price instead of less than half for just Sunday #Aaaaaaanyway I sure am glad at least one festival is gonna be planable months in advance instead of like #mentally preparing to be ready to leave for a week of camping within a moment's notice #Haven't told my dad yet. But I plan on staying at his place during any days we wait #Just to take that lil extra coordinating out of the picture of us being at the opposite sides of the city

#somehow i shouldn't be surprised should i.#heart of the void #of a city reborn (pokémon reborn)#since.. that was the post about my self-insert's role in each of its timelines #i hope it makes sense to people and i hope people can enjoy what i've done #as i said there - if anyone has any questions then please know you are more than welcome to ask them #i just #reborn as a game is quite significant to me in general but also in the context of selfshipping #since it was as I was playing it myself (instead of just watching the LP that introduced me to it) that I learned about selfshipping #and that's basically why luna was one of my first four romantic F/Os when I first created a selfship blog here #so.. that's i think also part of why i've put so much into my self-insert for it #since she was originally just ''me as i played the game'' but because of the story of reborn I could develop her a lot #and that only amplified when episode 19 released (which was the update that contained the full completed game)#so.. yeah. it means a lot to me ^-^ and i like thinking about it and its characters a lot

#I’m so happy they went for kalos instead of unova #like I love unova. I love unova. but I wasn’t sure what they’d do with it that would feel right #also I was 100% expecting johto either let’s go johto or legends celebi bc SO MUCH johto in that presents. THE UNOWN. and raikou and silver #but man kalos!!!! I rlly love the gen vi pokemon and it’ll be so cool to see what they do with a different version of the region #I’m expecting a kinda time travel element honestly? it seemed to go between futuristic + past stuff a BUNCH #with the redevelopment plan and the shiny light city #+ the two versions of the map it shows. those are Definitely 2 versions and one of them is past + more similar to the one we know #and one is updated but that could just be updating for switch #but ALSO Z-A. like okay AZ for a start is coming back but that’s very much a going backwards indication right #man my friend got to watch in real time as I went through the plot of the kalos games and remembered AZ and have everything click into place #it took me way too long to click that it was kalos in the trailer like it took me until talonflame to be like wait. and then PRISM TOWER #but god yeah I’m just like. I wanna know where they’re going with this bc I DOUBT it’s war era #it definitely COULD be but it would feel like a lot yknow for lumiose to be so similar that long ago #it’s not like 3000 years is a reasonable number in the first place anyway pokemon is weird #rlly rlly hoping there is the full region and that it’s made to feel less empty than paldea and hisui #if they’re going for an open world again which I feel like they will #I saw someone say they’re setting the whole thing in lumiose which would be a CHOICE. it’d be very different for sure #I don’t wanna say I wouldn’t like that but it would be a completely new kinda pokemon game. which would fit the legends idea. who knows #also wanna know what’s up with that logo bc I don’t recognise it. most similar is the aether foundation but that’s not close #even if it would make sense for aether to be around here (and I rlly hope they are)#okay wait so prism tower existing means it HAS to be future right bc clement designed it right? unless he redesigned it or smth #also I am excited abt megas coming back.
