I remembered that I can actually do anything I want, so I've been using faux fur as a texture element in patching up my old ripped jeans (not done stitching yet as evidenced by the pins on the border of it)

I am also going to buy red thread and try to include a decorative amogus somewhere on here.

#Ford's art #visible mending #sewing #color says shit #I've been staying up until almost 2am sewing because I lose track of time while stitching.#I used a denim patch as an actual backing and cut and trimmed the fur patches to size and cut the fur around the hole #so they're essentially inserted between the denim backing and the front pant layer.#so I'm finished sewing the fur in place (that's the three circular x stitch patterns)#so now I'm working on the anchor stitches for the entire backing patch #because I've done smaller patches and the pants often rip out right next to the patch #so a larger patch that reinforces the fabric that's still incredibly worn but not quite ripped out helps prevent more ripping #my earlier patch jobs weren't very good but I'm getting better each time #and I have plenty of ripped jeans to practice on.#I'm just sad I can't wear them to work because they're visibly patched.#which.. that's the point for me but work dress code doesn't like that #if they were cutely embroidered I could definitely. but I'm going for the janky look so work won't approve

(Not necesseraly for a critter drawing just for looking at pretty things, because either would be a nightmare to draw probably with the shapes and colours.) But they look gorgeous none the less! I've been made aware of them by @murkyquirky and they are gorgeous! *v*

What's funny is that, unlike bugs which are super symmetrical and rigid, these bad boys are 1000x more fun and easier to draw.

Cus I can lowkey bullshit my way with leafy-like fluid shapes, splash on a little colour and badabing badaboom, you got yourself a Leafy Boy 🌱🐉

I keep looking at the WIP pictures my artist send me of the tattoo I'm getting on Thursday and I'm so excited

#no tags because idk how to tag oc posts- also this account DO just be for saving my art in case my pc ever breaks.#but he's one of my favourite characters i have rn #and the junk hunters in general honestly their dynamic is my favourite.#two old gay men. One (Viktor) who lingers a little on the past but is happy and content as to where he is in the present #the other (Atlas) still mourning his dead mother and having left his abusive home.#A trans girl (Inky) who grew up in a perfectly normal household but became agoraphobic; before being ripped from her home and forced into #outside world #and Nim. someone who grew up in a trash zone with nothing to eat but garbage and is living her best life in the present.#they're literally blorbos from my brain ESPECIALLY the world they're apart of too because GOD i love it so much #What Nim's holding is called a Liabell; most if not all mosnter hunters have them for mobility.#the liabells dont work without a lullader (small-neon glowing stone looking spiders basically) inside. as it uses their incredibly tough we #to pull #but Nim's a cloven (deerways) so she's already got pretty good agility and uses their's for moreso rangling monsters.#i have SUCH a cool scene that I wanna draw (but doesn't fit my style- so i gotta commission it for sure)#where they're standing atop of an elk-like monster #and he's like- spun webs of the liabell around it's horns and its incredibly firey and its night and #GAHH #Nim's liabell isn't even like- purple- his lullader is- the liabell is clear glass with weathering copper when the lullader isnt in it.#I'm so normal about this world and all the races I've made for it. Because simply being a different race means they might use their #tools differently or not need specific ones #for example: I've got one character in my mind that's a possae (something inhabiting another thing basically) and they're a skeleton #with this massive glowing pulsating mass in it's ribcage and its all cowboy motif. (I'm thinking angel posessing it and handing out #their own retrobution in the West Zone)#and basically they use a Liabell similar to Nim but it's a lasso and they have several of them to help tie up more people.

after i do my next portfolio update, i'm just.....sending my resume and portfolio cold to TA

their apparel design work is FUGLY, and they need someone who knows print production bcuz literally no one is color separating their stuff and they're using a d2g printer which is sooooo inconsistent (and their sizing is inconsistent bcuz they're using multiple print-as-you-go d2g printers)

also if u ever get the rose merch and it has an ugly vinegary smell it's cause of the inks used for those direct to garment printers.....and the stuff they do a lot of it can be done with bulk screenprint for cheaper lol??? idk what they're doing. like if they're selling hundreds of shirts, printing on white, with only black ink, it's absolutely cheaper to burn screens rather than have the d2g printer
