Crowley Cosplay Test
Finally, I was able to test my Crowley Cosplay. I am still working on the wings but the rest of the costume is finished. I am very happy with the result and want to share it with you, as long as the journey to the end result. I went for S2 turtleneck Crowley.
Feel free to leave some feedback but pls remember to be kind!
and because I am scared the wig won't last long, I also ordered another wig to Cosplay manbun Crowley as well.

Because honestly, there went so much wrong with the Cosplay, I was ready to give up a couple of times.
1) the wig
I ordered a red wig but it was too bright. Usually, there are two common ways to dye a wig but they wouldn't work for me. So I ordered colored hairspray but they delivered the wrong color. I didn't get a refund so I didn't dare to order again. And I couldn't get the same color hairspray at the shops. So instead, I got face paint and hand-dyed the wig layer by layer. It took me around two hours.
I styled and fixed the color as usual by Got2Be hairclue.
2) The easy parts
I had the black turtleneck and the pants at home. My pair of pants broke two weeks ago but it's easy getting another pair of black pants. The new pair are much tighter but since Crowley always wears very tight pants, I am fine with it.
I got the scarf from Etsy. The shoes are second hand. The belt can't be seen but it had a gold snake as a belt buckle, which I painted black and kept the eyes gold as a reference to Crowley's eyes.
3) The vest
Usually, I can trust Amazon with the size charts. It always fits. Well, except this time. Crowley wears a black leather west with a very deep V-neckline. I had to choose if I get a black leather vest or a vest with a similar deep neckline. I chose the second option. But when the vest arrived, I am telling you, David Tennant himself wouldn't have fit in it. It was HUGE. I could've worn it as a dress. And I can sew. But this was so complicated that a friend had to help me out. We had to reschedule our meeting three times and spent an entire day on that thing.
4) The coat
The collar of Crowley's coat is very special and most coats with such a collar are very expensive! I spent about 4 hours of research to find a perfect coat that I could afford. But by the time I could order it (like a month later), it was sold out and I spent another 2 (!) hours looking for an alternative. It was a bit too big but my friend helped me to sew it as well.
5) The glasses
I got these pretty cheap from AliExpress. It was easy to remove the unnecessary temple stem at the top of the glasses. This was, next to the scarf, the easiest part to do.
Yeah. Well, that's it for the outfit. I will do an extra post for the wings sometime later.

Would you say that your costume was true to size? Was it stretchy? Should I size up? I'm so sorry for asking so much I just want this to fit well 😅
No, no I get it. Picking things specially from AliExpress can be super tricky! . And mine was a size bigger. I usually pick em a size bigger cause mostly of the costumes sure are stretchy, but they don't stretch enough and you don't want to look awkward or uncomfortable either.
I always ask for an XXL due my breasts and cake and the only thing I do is minor adjustments c:. If you are sure of your size, order it in your size. They do stretch and the fabric is good quality.

This is the only episode I remember watching during the summer when the Hub network first aired Shezow.
This title card gives me Sonic the hedgehog 1 start screen vibes.

This show has a guitar hero like VR game and I also like guy's green spikey hair rock star hair.
I had to look up if there even was a VR guitar hero but there is a game similar to it.
I like it that when when Guy grabbed Maz into camo outfits he already had a sidekick character ready called Dan-o-flage.
Maz just saying there's a changing room while Guy is in Shezow form yet Maz is wearing stolen camo outfit.
I didn't see him pay for it unless he got it off screen.
Anyways the Little Moochers remind me of the Munchkins from the Wizard of Oz but do crime and they all have helium voices.
I like it that Shezow just joke about the bank not having a drive thru while also causing property damage by hulk smash breaking in the bank.
Couldn't Shezow just sneak through the vents or sneak around the back to cause less property damage?
Guy almost blew his cover as Shezow since he didn't do the fake female voice but good thing everyone was too busy with the crime to notice.
The battle music gives me Splatoon vibes 2:51-3:14.
I like it that Maz is useful and helping the bank hostages leave the scene safely while the battle is still happening.
I like it that it's canon that everyone knows that Shezow is sidekick less and gets called out on why Maz is here.
But I'm glad this cartoon gave the sidekick something to do instead of just having them be there.
My favorite pose for Shezow and the guard keeps messing up Dan-o-flage's name by calling him something other than his sidekick name.
Maz gets no credit since he helped move those people to safety while Shezow was busy fighting villains but all he gets is a pity clap from a random background character with no name.
But life be like that though.
Guy's expression is like "Hey there some money under my boot and don't mind if I do."
Which he shouldn't do and also where are the camera's in the bank that would catch Shezow stealing?
Also the autograph paper is the beta pitch design for Shezow which is a nice touch.
I remember seeing that design online when looking up the show at the time the show got cancelled and wanted to know more about it.

I like that the cops come in at the last minute to try to stop the crime but Shezow and Maz already got it.
Also I want a episode where it's just Guy's cop dad and his cop sidekick in a episode.
Like Shezow (Guy) just let's him have a cool hero moment to make him feel better maybe his dad would be less angry at Shezow.
I like it that the background music in the bank is just the Shezow theme but a elevator version of it and slower in speed.
It's a nice touch.
I like it that Guy's guitar strings broke in the VR game which symbolizes his guilt for stealing the money.
The only way Guy could get the full money back as a refund he might need the receipt but if it's a game store the game console might lose value.
I know from experience.
Apparently in Megadale 500 dollar bills exists but I'm not sure if the USA $500 is a thing you can still use.
Maz says "That's gangster." like a nerd thinking he's cool.
Also the show mentions that the cameras were on to record Shezow stealing and the secret identity thing which is a first for a cartoon calling itself out.
Most just pretend that cameras at the bank are not everywhere but the show did the oh yeah the bank didn't see the video so now you have a time limit thing.
This is before Tik Tok was a thing where everyone had cameras and recorded everything.
Oh yeah Shelia says there is a rule if Shezow steals literally anything then the shero will just shrink out of existence.
This is another reason I remembered this episode.
Later Guy proceeds to make fun of leprechauns and jockey's so basically small people.
I like how Guy is not freaking out that he is becoming Ken doll sized and is like this is fine then gets told it's a Shezow side effect that Guy will become Antman small.
Guy calls it Sherinkage and Shelia calls him a thug to his tiny face.
It's cool that the store returned Guy's stolen money VR game consle with a full refund even though Maz had the receipt.
Most stores wouldn't take it back without the receipt or give store credit instead of the full amount.
Also Guy returned it as a tiny being and I'm surprised no one thought he was a bug and tried to squish him or any animal wanting to eat him.
I would love to see that side of the episode.
Also the ring doesn't work when the side effect is in play so that's a nice touch to the lore.
Also is it double stealing if you destroy the bank camera footage?
Also the short jokes are everywhere and I like how Guy's voice is normal while the Little Moochers voices where helium sounding.
Also the cops like donuts joke thing.
Also Kelly holding mini Guy is a weird out of context image if you have never seen the show.
Oh the show found a loophole where someone else or a outside force has to destroy the evidence.
Also the show called out Maz for not paying for his outfit and gaslight him like the police is there.
But Maz still got away with not paying for his outfit but Maz doesn't have powers so it's good.
I give this a 8/10.
Fun Fact in the dub of the anime Mix Master there is a character called Chino who has the same voice actor as Guy Hamdon.
I got a request a long time ago that doesn't exist anymore of Guy in his VR rock gear guitar rocking with Chino from this anime.
They were both on model but in sketch form not colored in.
This episode made me remember this anime was a thing and I might review this too.

As somewhat of a rebuttal against the anon who says that being a newbie no excuse for buying recasts by mistake, it's important to know that the many newbies likely encountered BJDs for the first time on sales platforms like Aliexpress. And we all know there's a 99.9% chance of it being a recast. If they aren't already in the community, they have no reason to assume they're counterfeit. The expensive price may suggest it's a legit item to an outsider, since they have no idea how expensive the original is, and that the fake is cheap only in comparison. If they have questions, they'll just contact costumer service.
In a similar vein, my 13 year old self bought a counterfeit lolita dress because the seller lied and told me they were the factory selling off dresses with slight defect that the brand couldn't sell at full price. I was aware of fakes, but I still got tricked. In retrospect, a 250$ dress being sold for 80$ was a super red flag, but I didn't have a concrete idea on what pricing was reasonable for flawed items and what was obviously fake.
Another problem is that oueineifs (?) renames almost every doll they sell (especially hybrids apparently), so if a newbie decides to google the sculpt name, they'll just find oueineif again. It's easy to imagine that most people will just assume that Oueineifs is the original (and only) seller of that item and buy if from them

As an owner of one of grimetown’s many sex shops (why does a town even have so many??) I’ve got fierce competition. My shop is famous for its inflatable tube man wearing a bikini in the front and it’s TV ads featuring certain underpaid freeloading man wearing ridiculous sexy costumes. Maybe my rather underhanded means of advertising have earned me some negative press but the shop is popular enough, and with my incredible (read: exorbitant) prices who wouldn’t wanna shop here! Do you think I’ve made myself an enemy, daddy merc?
saying this town isn't big enough for two sex shops would be a lie... but still, setting up shop directly across the street from sex shop owners!satosugu? they were willing to forgive you, but then you started stealing their hot babes, and that's unforgivable. your shops engage in beef reminiscent of wendy's v. mcdonald's, putting signs in your windows slandering the other shop, spending a stupid amount of money to boost your advertising – and when satoru and suguru decide to play dirty, they post screenshots of your "luxury, imported inventory" found for mere pennies on aliexpress. it all comes to a head when you're standing outside your respective shops, screaming at the poor dmv employee (that's just trying to walk to work) to come into your shop instead.

Papa sang, swaying his hips to the beat of the music. The words were audacious, he emphasizes each word sharply, staring somewhere in the front rows, piercing the listeners with his pinpoint gaze. Between verses, he began sauntering along the edge of the stage, occasionally leaning over the orchestra pit. Omega thought that by winning the attention of the front rows, Papa was losing the rest of the audience, but there wasn’t much of a choice. When he finished singing, the entire nearest row was his.
Terzo took another sip of the bottle to wet his throat.
"Papa Emeritus III," someone suddenly shouted from the crowd.
“М?” Terzo reacted immediately. “You must have mistaken me for someone else. Well," he said with a piquant click of his tongue. “I knew a woman who loved costume games. You know, those sexy leather harnesses and all that. One day she made her husband buy a Papa Emeritus III costume on Aliexpress. She insisted that he wear it when they were about to make love. She helped him put on skull paint. And then was saying: ‘Take me, Papi,’” he swayed his hips a few times. Some male voice in the crowd shouted, echoing him, "Take me, Papa!"
“Yes, yes, that's right," Terzo said, pointing his finger at him. “But we got distracted by that asshole," he continued. “I mean Papa, not you," he tossed in the direction of the speaker. The hall buzzed with approval.
Omega was sure it was improvisation, but Terzo was embodying too much of the third Papa, they'd be recognized surely. Someone in the audience was already suspicious.

My niece invited me to her ballet class’s production of the nutcracker; she has been in the ballet studio’s cast for years. I can’t believe how well she has come; I believe she could really become a professional ballet dancer. I decided to go with my parents since we are all going to the same place and gas is expensive lol. (¬_¬”)
I bought a dress off of Unique Vintage! It’s my favorite dress brand; I didn’t buy it specific for this event- but because I love having a designated seasonal dress! I don’t really want a lot of specific clothes for just Christmas, but a good quality dress to last me this year’s events? Of course! I didn’t want this dress, actually, I actually wanted the gingerbread green dress, but it sold out like immediately. (╥_╥)
But this one is gorgeous! I love how I look in this dress; I wear fat-like fine satin.
I purchased my niece a bouquet; you should always gift performers flowers after a performance. (✿◕‿◕)
I found this on Aliexpress and it came in time!! I was so happy I got super concerned it wouldn't make it in time, it didn't come with the box but with a super noisy plastic that literally made it slide and rustle around the entire performance, I was so embarrassed.
So my hair is actually based on the style Asuna Yuuki wears, yeah say what you want about Sword Art Online but it tickles my brain in the right places. I want to try and do a hairstyle similar to Tohru Honda next.
The costume design was beautiful; it was so vivid and glittery, I could see the detail on the stage from the back of the back row. My niece was some sort of clown child? She was very adorable and loved her expressions and how she dances on stage. She’s always been into imagination play.
Her siblings were there, and of course, her brother was so happy to see me. I got the tightest hug from the little man. I love him so much. Her older sister was happy to see me, but she's in middle school now and feels she can't be so affectionate. I literally had to beckon her over and wrap my arm around her shoulder, she tried to stand with enough room for Jesus, lol.
No matter what, I love them all so much.
After the long drive and the hour-long performance, it was time to go home. But she was happy, and told me a few days later all the Hello Kitties had sticks up their butts to keep them up and she had to remove them. I think that was the fun part for her.
I love her and I can't wait to be apart of more memories with her.

In which I'm a clingy mess
(I want to put the whole thing under a cut but I'm afraid it'll be buggy again like last time, because this editor is buggy AF and god forbid you press Ctrl+Z out of habit and paragraphs jump around and/or disappear.)
2023.03.18 Espoon Kultturikeskus (Tapiolasali), Espoo
Part 1.
Senpai drove up to the stage door with the gear trailer at exactly 2:25 PM.
They'd recently upgraded, adding a trailer to the entourage of two vans, and apparently the roadies don't feel confident driving with that yet. (He told me this last week.)
I had warned him last week that I'd be there super early because I had a photo I wanted him to sign, and to give him a page with some comments about the new songs. He had been like, well if you don't get a chance to give that to me directly you can always give it to Pate to pass onward. The fact that he doesn't seem bothered by me writing all these notes to him kinda bothers me in return?
With that taken care of, I went on downtown to deal with another thing and went home to rest a bit and adjust my costume.

Part 2.
Pendants are the new capes. They're significantly less unusual than capes, but they are artistic (rather than just a logo or something, as I've often seen with band jewelry) and individually handcrafted. As such, they were selling much faster than capes. There are a few making-of pics on the artisan's Instagram.
It strongly recalls the cheap metallic arrowhead pendant (like the cheapo ones you get if you search on AliExpress) I had in high school. This is apparently intentional, although it's specifically also intended to be heart-shaped. Sometimes it feels I'm being called back to be the teenage fangirl I never got to be, except with (a bit) more money, so even my teenage accessories are returning with upgrades.

Part 3.
I spotted the one woman whom I'd met up with at the show in July. She hadn't seen them since then (and had fully expected me to be here). She was at the end of the first row, the blonde fangirls and some others in between.
I was kind of hoping they'd play more of the new songs, rather than the same ones they played on the pre-recorded performance that was on TV last week. (I know they have more prepared; the set from the night previous was slightly different.)
At one point the acrobat was helping run a guitar across the stage and of course he was barefoot so he tripped and faceplanted stylishly but it broke. The roadies fixed it but Pate wasn't happy and sent it back.
I watched Pate during Hetken ikuinen and I know just enough guitar to notice that his was tuned down, so my doing the same in my piano cover is consistent and valid ;)
And I guess the guitar solo in Kukaan ei koskaan gets a refresh with each new album or something? (It's tradition for them to play it at every show so they do need to keep it fresh.)

Part 4.
"I don't know if this is an appropriate question, since I'm just a fan doing fan things, but which song should I cover next?"
"...like with the piano? Hmm, that's hard... Meissä asuu elämä could be good? It's a challenging one though."
Am I prepared for this challenge because it's gonna be a TOUGH one (I mean both in creating the arrangement and, uh, considering who's picking this.)
Of course it has to be the ONE song that isn't in the songbook so I actually have to work it out myself.
Realistically though I kind of want to focus on piano covers for a while, since they're a bit easier, and gosh that's a hard song to make a video for. I feel like I'd need access to documentary footage since it's about social justice.

Part 5.
As I left (forgetting to take a selfie of my costume from one of the mirrors in the lobby) I checked the karaoke queue from my phone and it was practically empty, so I picked a drink and a song.
I finished the drink and it was still pretty early, so I wandered back over to the stage door, out of clinginess, mostly. Senpai was still there helping to load stuff. (Dang, it must really suck for him to drive that back to wherever their storage is and then all the way back home.)
I told him that nobody went to karaoke with me as I had anticipated (I'd mentioned this in my note, but I don't think he'd had time to read it yet) so I was gonna go home and cry.
"Or sing?"
"I already sang Kukaan ei koskaan and nobody there knows who the fuck I am so I'm going home and crying."

Other stuff.
It's not like I want to be anywhere else doing anything else. I just wish there were more people to experience my happy moments with me. And maybe capture them so I have something to remember them by?
I often imagine myself as a character in a film and it's especially tragic that I never get to see what that film looks like from the other side.
Like having to ask strangers to take my self-portraits so I don't actually get the opportunity to set up the shot exactly how I want it.

2023 Reflections
This year it has become a goal for me to become more confident in the way I dress and the clothes I wear. I also don't want to buy pieces that I never wear/ buy too much (not that that's an actual issue for me right now). Here's what that means to me...
There's this guy in my class who often wears the same outfit/ variation of an outfit everyday. And the thing is he looks good in it, he's actively conscious of his impact on the environment. I want to take that idea and apply it to myself, have a capsule wardrobe type thing in which I have a relatively small amount of clothes I can mix and match each day and feel happy with the resulting look.

Thrifting, whether through vintage markets or charity shops, has been a great delight for me. There's no guarantee that I'll find anything of note but the chance is always there. There's a certain magic about charity shops that keeps drawing me back. For example, when I went camping on the Isle of Wight with friends we realised we didn't have a pump for our friend's air mattress.
