Hi Jen! I'm a bi woman who's just started dating another bi woman and today we had the Feelings Talk and I'm so excited. The only thing is, we're unsure of what kind of r/ship blueprints/good examples exist for us, whilst obviously the "StraightWhiteMale" strategy is the antithesis of what we're going for, there's an info-gap re: successful bisexual wlw character arcs that don't involve promiscuity. I know you're a lesbian, but I really love your blog and I was hoping you'd help me out. Thanks!

The Feeling talk.. it deserves capiltalization because it is so very important. Congratulations on finding each other and having the courage to pursue love and talk about your emottions. You are on the right track just by sharing with each other.

Sadly.. I can think of no TV show or movie that features two openly bi women in a long term relationship where men are not somehow involved in the plot line as a third part or one where the women are just looking for someone on the side. (no judgement, just wish there was more diversity in characters)

You might be a bit on your own for forming the instruction booklet. I can tell you what I know. Your relationship, just like any other, especially between women, requires you to be honest with yourself and then with her. If things feel different or you feel disconnected please have that talk. If you are overcome with how stunning she looks in the kitchen at 630am before work, tell her and show her. If we hide our feelings good or bad, resentment can grow.

Do not hid your sexuality. Be proud that you are bi and the lesbian freinds you make will appreciate you being honest and up front. And being visible is important to other bi women who, like you, are seeking to see themselves in the world.

Rose and Rosie are from the UK and have a couple of youtube channels. Rose is a lesbian but Rosie is bi and open about it. She has her own channel and a few years ago did a few videos entitled “BI sexy”. The are fun,honest and informative. Take a look at those.

Even in my wide friend circle of women in my life I can’t think of a single female couple comprised of two bi women. My hunch is they exitst.. but it does not come up and they just let us assume they are lesbians because it is easier or they feel it is too late to bring it up. ;( All of my bi friends are married to men and most never had a relationship with a woman and came out later in life.

Women like you are the reason i have added a bi women breakout session to my wish list for the lesbian conference. I think it is a discussion worth having as it relates to lesbians and bi women as we move in similar circle
