I couldn't resist cosplaying Sukea because Tobi/Sukea is one of my favorite ships in Naruto now (technically it's still Obito/Kakashi but the hidden identity trope is just tooooo good 🙈)!!! In particular, I REALLY love the Akatsuki!Sukea AU from @butter--peanut on ao3. It's about Sukea joining Akatsuki before Shippuden and teaming up with Tobi. IT'S REALLY REALLY GOOD OKAY. (and my motivation and inspiration to cosplay LIT UP LIKE FIRE)

for various reasons, the japan influence on the world of cyberpunk is something that fascinates me (probably what initially drew me to the game ngl). the 1980s “yellow peril” economic rivalist mindset infused the lore with techno-orientalism (problematically at times) and we see a strong japan influence on the city and other aspects of society, especially corporate work culture. i’m always thinking of things from this perspective when writing about arasaka corpo life.

on a less serious note, do you think japanese mascots (yuru-chara) culture carried over? I want to believe that arasaka has some hokey bear with a samurai hat or some amorphous blob with a katana representing the corp at various press events.

#I modeled Sek's graduation robe off of Michael's since on earth all graduation robes are essentially the same #first colored drawing of Sek! Monumental. He lives in my mind rent free v_v and he's complaining about it.#Sek and Kar are childhood friends! Kar beat him in a chess match and felt proud of beating a VULCAN but then Sek cried and Kar felt bad #they ate together and got to know each other and they've been best friends ever since!
