Cellbit who holds his shit together, pieces together the clues, and solves the issue while walking on a tightrope, where if he cannot correct for the mistakes made, the fallout would be catastrophic. He cannot fail to solve the case, he cannot fail to cure his friends, it isn’t an option in how desperate the situation has gotten.
He’s relied upon by everyone as the leader of the order, shoulders heavy with the burden. He is intense when he needs to be, gentle when a soft touch is required, and keeps his head when the situation is so intense the others are speechless.
He gets through Forevers stubbornness, reassures Pac in his sorrow and indecisiveness. It’s a fucked up scene and he handles it well because he has no other choice.
He doesn’t cry until it’s all over. Just for a second, when the moment is over, and he can take a breath of air. And even then he leads the rest of them through clean up. He makes sure Pac gets home, gets Forever to a proper place to rest, ensures the rest of the group is okay after what they just witnessed.
Then the moment he leaves the others, he finds another critical clue that he can’t just ignore or put to the back burner.
Another mystery, another crisis, another billion clues he’ll have to organize and follow up on and solve, because he’s the investigation guy, the leader of the order, and the island is counting on him. The kids are counting on him. He doesn’t get a chance to truly breathe. To fully sit down and let himself crumble, let someone, anyone, else be the strong foundation, because if he can’t solve this, who will?
Even with his family returning to him, it’s no wonder he feels so alone. Out of the frying pan and into the fire, I guess.

An original story?
I finally have the time to answer the question @mrsevenplus7 asked about if I ever thought about creating an original story or world; the answer is most definitely! There’s several worlds over the years that I’ve created in my head and written things about. There’s one in particular that leans towards fantasy but still has realistic elements. (Keep in mind this concept was originally thought of when I was in middle and completely infatuated with RWBY/Final Fantasy. I’m in college now 💀) I apologize in advance for the words vomit.
Breakthrough
World building
This is a world that geographically speaking is much like ours. Rolling hills, scorching deserts, icy tundras, vast oceans, ect. Since the beginning, the make up of this world could be credited to eight elemental crystals. Fire, Water, Air, Earth, Lightning, Ice, Light, and Darkness.
Man since the beginning of their discovery of these crystals saw them as divine entities that helped them survive by giving them the potential to become stronger. It would’ve sound a bit ridiculous, if it wasn’t literally true. Around a certain age the human body gained an affinity to one of the crystals that manifested in a variety of ways. An ice user can be particularly skilled in creating objects out of the element while another used the property of snow. A fire user might envelope themselves in flames while a second user creates explosions. Even those with similar manifestations find unique ways to differentiate themselves through unique qualities of simple just being different people. It was quickly noticed the four basic elements were slightly more common than the others if only by a relatively small margin. Despite all the differences, one thing remained constant for all humans beings. An untapped potential that ran to the very essence of their power.
Many could feel this potential inside of them. These internal barriers that capped of the limits of their abilities. Some precived them as walls, while others envisioned them as chains or a fence but it was all the same. In time, people learned that with training of the body, the mind, their powers, and discovering a better idea of themselves, it was possible to overcome one barrier after another. They could break through and gain more power. This began an age of self improvement and technological advances. Knowledge was shared throughout the world. Civilizations expanded in even the most unlikely of places and it was common to mostly find people with the same affinity creating and living in places tailored for their needs.
Full blown cities that ran predominantly off of electricity. Fishing settlements and tribes that never feared the mysteries of the oceans thanks to their water control. Many other remarkable feats were achieved in the far future because of the power granted by the crystals. However, before humanity didn’t get to that glory over night. Before they reached the height of their progress they had to face the natural horrors of this world that went beyond the regular wildlife. The crystals might have given them strength, but it could also be the bane of their existence.
The elements itself had also taken the form of vast wildlife creatures that more often than not ruined what humans tried to build and seemed to have a natural aggression towards the species in general. Stallions made of earth with the power to cause tremors or mudslides as they stampede. Massive gust of winds that took the shape or large birds. Wolves that faded into shadows and stalked in the dead of night. Some “Elementals” were more difficult to dispose of then others but none could be taken lightly. A greater danger awaited once one was killed. Their bodies simply became like the element it was constructed out of and a black miasma like substance was expelled. Inhaling a small out was enough to hinder people and cause an incurable sickness that effects their powers. Inhale too much and your being would succumb and turn you into Humanoid Elemental that was devoid of any soul or the humanity they once had. All they had left was the strength they had acquired and a higher intelligence. It was one such monster that changed the course of history forever.
In universe lore
Something had happen back in the days where man was still getting the fundamentals tapping into their potential. Tales of a being in the form of a woman that had unlocked their full power spread across the globe. Not only that, but it had the power of all the elements and was laying destruction to any who barred its path. Such a tale was seen as just that, a tale. No one was ever that had the powers of each crystal. Also, such a person would surly had to have had some kind of spiritual balance if they had unlocked the end of their potential. Yet as ridiculous as it was, it soon couldn’t be ignored.
Slowly the weather became more treacherous. Stories of men, women, and children seemingly vanishing out of nowhere turned into entire villages being erased from the map. There was something out there and no one who has seen it lived to talk about it. The days themselves began to change which would bring on two more phenomena that were signaled by the moon. In the span of a month two events occurred. A blue moon that bathed the land in a light that enhanced powers for a full day. Then a red moon that did the same for the Elementals. All these strange things that could not be explained continued to raise more questions until humanity was given an answer in the form of a foe. Someone had finally lived to tell their tale. A battered man who was approaching deaths door.
He spoke about how a young woman with red eyes and ghost white hair came strolling into his village; the one closest to the wind crystal. The woman wore nothing but a worn out robe and her skin looked the color of bone. The only thing in her possession was an odd tool which would later be known as a scythe. Somehow she seemed drawn to crystal and new exactly where to go. His people forbade direct contact with it like all homelands did that were founded around it but she did not care. When warriors came to deter her, they were met with the same sight as anyone else. The look of a weeping women, then an instant death. The man didn’t see when she moved her arm but he felt the wind come off the attack before being sent flying and nearly blacking out. Barely conscious enough to see his people be slaughtered by Elementals of every type that obeyed her faithfully for she had created several before his eyes. The tale was true and terrifying. That woman continued to press on until it made contact with the wind crystal and caused the formation of a storm like no other. Not once did she ever smile. Only tears. But the man had seen something in her. An evil that ran deep and twisted as the darkest parts of humanity itself. Was this woman, this creature ever human? Or was it an Elemental that started off like this from the beginning? Stronger, faster, aware.....he asked it what it’s name was and it only said one thing. “Sin”
The man died shortly after telling the story but it had done the job it needed to, call people to action. Brave warriors everywhere rose to face this new threat and the beasts it brought along. Many of them confident in their unlocked potential to bring the being known as Sin down to its knees. Countless tried, and they failed. Hundreds upon hundreds either fell in a battle they weren’t prepared for or defending what they could. Soon all the crystals were thrown into a state of shock and the world ran rapid with extreme weather for years; humanity pushed to the brink and Sin vanished. It should’ve been the end. Until one day, one man met seven people and became legends.
This man have had enough of living in despair. Watching his people endure ever since the day he was born was painful. Being born in the tundra and granted power over ice meant weather was always an extreme to overcome from the start, but not like this. It was only possible with the help of trade from other villages which was all but destroyed. So he trained. He trained physically and mentally from the time he was a teenager until he was mid twenties like if it was his destiny to change things. Then one day he decided to finally put it to the test. The man traveled acrossd the icy landscape until he reached the coldest place near the center; the ruined homeland where the crystal still rest. Guarding it was massive and ferocious ice Elemental in the form of a snow fox. The man should’ve been dead on the spot. He was only armed with scythe as a way to tell the world that it could achieve power as boundless as Sin. Perhaps it was that belief that was the key. He slayed the beast and brought a calm to the crystal once more. It was a harrowing experience and he had partly a blue moon to think for it but he did it nonetheless. He showed the world that they weren’t gonna die so easily. And so began his journey.
The man sailed of to locate the other crystals and start putting the world back in order. Calming the crystal had brought him more understanding of his power and that brought greater strength. This brought him to a grassy plain where another who was tired of living in fear wanted to make a change and asked to join him on this quest. Despite how many times he denied this middle aged man the right to travel along, the ice warrior could not get rid of him! Days passed before they reached the wind crystal and encountered another deadly Elemental guarding it. This time it was a was a massive wind condor. The ice man thought beating it would be a simple task but he was wrong. It had nearly cost him his life if wasn’t for the older man by his side. Not only did he control wind as well, but he managed to deliver the final blow needed with the iceman’s scythe and brought another crystal to peace. He too seemed to have grown from the experience and found new strength. The two of them continued on as equals to save the world.
The power of wind meant sailing to the ruins of island of the water crystal possible without the destruction of their boat. However, they needed a proper guide of the sea and found that in a young women who also wanted to make a change. The three of them sailed of together and the beginning of a pattern started to form. It wasn’t that humanity had given up fighting, but finding those with the will and means to go on was scarce. It was hard to self improve when so much tragedy fell around you. Like the last two, an Elemental stood in their way but together they bested it and their new teammate managed to calm the crystal.
The cycle repeated. For each crystal they traveled to, someone eager and ready to join tagged along. Each time the ice warrior was wary but grew to appreciate their help. A menacing Elemental of unique form tried to kill them but never got the chance. They knew that it wasn’t just random animals either. It was always indigenous to the region and more importantly, had a sinister and potent miasma unleashed from them that was more dangerous than the regular foes they encountered. As the group slowly grew, they learned from each other. Their lives, likes, dislikes, training, skills, dreams, fears..... it was all shared. They had become friends. All of them more than capable of learning how to use a scythe in order to spread the ice warrior’s beliefs. Sometimes they faught but they would make up. The team eventually became eight strong; one for each crystal type. All that was left was light. Seven out of eight had gained exceptional strength from calming their crystal and they felt ready for anything. Not because of their individual strength, but because a new power they had discovered over the three year long journey of saving the world.
Working together, truly connecting with each other. It allowed for something that the warrior of water and darkness people believed in; they could use each other’s powers in combination with their own. The technique was difficult and way more straining than other things they had learned. Not to mention it was only possible to use one other power at a time, but done right had amazing results. Results they did not know they would need for the final Elemental. The group found themselves walking up a huge tower known as The Stairway to Heaven. It was here that the light crystal resided, but not guarded the same way as rest. No, instead it was guarded by a familiar set of blood red eyes and ghostly appearance. Sin stood in their way. It had been here the entire time. Only this time it was bathed in a brilliant holy light with seven dark pools around it. The aura it gave off was immediately recognized as whatever remained from the previous Elementals. Sin had divided its power in an effort to defend the crystal; all this time they had been fighting the being that was supposed to have vanished years ago. Now it was back at complete strength.
The group did not waver; not even the warrior of light who had still yet to awaken her power by the crystal. It was now or never. Save the world or die trying. The only thing left to do before the fight was ask why? Why had this creature throw the world into such chaos. “If you have the potential to do anything, why shouldn’t you do everything? Destroy it all and create from the ruble.” The answer was unsettling. Any person with simple morals and able to have achieved such power surly would’ve known being able to do something did not inheritly mean they should. The warriors asked what exactly was it. Human gone Elemental? An Elemental in the form of man? It simply grabbed itself and embraced the dark pools of its fallen counterparts. A range of emotions washing across its face before settling on a mournful expression. “I am the end result.”
The battle was fierce and savage. Nature itself seemed to scream as all it had to give was being used to clash with in a way, itself. Landscapes changed, wildlife ran, the battle could be seen for miles. Somehow in all the chaos the heroes managed to calm the final crystal; gaining a slight edge that slowly kept building. Sin had faced many people but none like this. It wasn’t their strength that overwhelmed it, or the eight to one odds. It was there teamwork; the bond allowed them to use each other’s abilities and perform feats like no one had seen at the time. Things that could not be learned alone. In the end, it led to Sin’s demise. A lethal blow dealt by all of them that render Sin unstable and fading, but with a catch.
“Power like mine does not fade. Sin does not fade....it festers” the miasma shot off into seven pieces once more and found its way into all the warriors except for the Ice warrior. Stricken with fear, he watched his closest friends writhe in agony as they desperately tried to hold onto their humanity as temptation at away at their soul. Wrath, Lust, Pride, Gluttony, Sloth, Envy, and Greed. Still connected through their bond, he couldn’t help but feel all the suffering inside of himself. What could he do? Was this really the end? Tears started to well up before a voice called out to him. “It’s okay...” it was the first to join his journey, the wind warrior. More called out to him. “Don’t let this be in vain.” said water
“You know what you must do...” Darkness cried out.
“Trust our bond.” Earth said calmly
“Alone we might not be strong enough.” Lightning said wary.
“Together though, we’ll stand.” Light exhaled exhausted.
“So what are you waiting for?” Fire proclaimed.
All of them gave their leader one final look of relief; satisfied with the end results as they seem more radiant than any crystal. The leader had no words. Only resolve as he took hold of his weapon and stood ready. Their eyes said all that was left to be said. “I can’t believe we did it.” He made it swift, and cut them all down in one slice. The world was finally returned to normal.
Humanity rejoiced. Finally it could once again get on track to growing strong and mighty. Many searched for the brave heroes they had to thank for this accomplishment but only found their weapons; each taken and placed by a crystal in honor of them. As for the ice warrior, he simply vanished. No one could find him. When people eventually reached the ice crystal it had his scythe mysteriously placed there with no clue how. He must’ve been alive somewhere. Legend says the man took ahold of the seven sins and placed them inside himself for the sake of the world, but he did not lose his mind. He simply wandered off. That the bond he had with the team he grew to love was beyond death and kept the sins in check within him. It also said that the man spread knowledge of the abilities his friends cultivated and is why we have them today. Now anyone who dares learn how to wield a scythe do so in the heroess’ honor and belief that unlocking one’s full potential means facing the odds with comrades.
As for the fallen heroes, they are clearly not forgotten. Some people believe their will lives on apart of the crystal and will grant strength to a select few who rise to the challenge of beating the odds.
Phew 😅
That was more tiring than I thought. That was just explaining the world and some extremely important lore but I never actually talked about the main characters, the plot, how powers work on a more conceptual level, or the setting. Maybe I’ll make a second one of these if you all really, and I mean really want more. Looking back at this I have realized something staggering. Aspects from this story have bled over into my many AU’s. I’m talking down to the idea of mental headspace and two very specific characters that I know realize somewhat live through Yujin and Tenzen; fighting wise anyways. (Personality too for Yujin which is nuts and I don’t know how to handle that. They are even blonde.)

Hi Mllemaenad! I was just reading one of your posts on Tranquility (this one: /post/151051248435/youve-frequently-written-to-a-really-brilliant) and there is one thing I take issue with. You say that the Seeker Rite of Tranquility is "crude" and that Wynn had no need of such "nonsense", but let's remember that Wynn was contacted by a Spirit of Faith after a Near Death event. That's hardly a safe or reliable method, had the spirit not visited her, she'd be dead! Tranquility is (relatively) safer.
Hi Anonymous person!
Okay, for reference, because that’s a post from 2016 and I didn’t remember what it was about either, this is what I said:
No one has investigated this and established that Tranquillity is good for its victims. Kind of the opposite, actually. While we don’t know exactly how they stumbled upon the idea, the earliest known use of the Rite of Tranquillity is as part of a Seeker initiation ritual. For the Seekers, the whole point of Tranquillity is the cure. It is a trial of faith: a crude way of making contact with a spirit of Faith (note that Wynne had no need of such nonsense, ‘sinful’ mage though she is; the spirit was drawn to her naturally). A Seeker who survives the Rite becomes a mage (I’m sure they’d object to that definition, but guess what, Cassandra, setting someone’s blood aflame is doing magic) without the social stigma associated with being born a mage. If you stay Tranquil, you’ve failed. You’re lost.
– Ask post on Tranquility
Your contention is that Wynne’s contact with the spirit is unsafe because it occurred at the point of death. Except ... that’s simply not true. Wynne has known that spirit her whole life.
Warden: Why did the spirit choose to help you?
Wynne: I have always had an affinity for the spirits of the Fade. As a child I never feared my dreams, because I knew they were there.
Warden: What about demons?
Wynne: I could sense the demons too, and their presence frightened me. It was the kindly spirits of the Fade that took the fear from me. I’ve always been able to feel the spirits, even if I never saw them. And as I nurtured my talent in the Circle, I became more sensitive. I began to notice, every time I was in the Fade, whether it was in a dream, or in magical practice, that I was being watched.
Warden: Do spirits watch people like that?
Wynne: I suppose they must. It is these benevolent spirits that create our dream worlds in the Fade. Sometimes I would see it ... a glowing, nebulous form. Most times I would just feel its presence – gentle and comforting, but somehow alien. I think it is a Spirit of Faith. They have never been seen before and perhaps I am wrong, but something tells me I’m not. It always felt like the same ... entity. This one spirit was curious about me and was ... guarding me, for want of a better word.
Warden: You mean it protected you?
Wynne: There were times, when I was in the Fade, that it seemed to stretch forth to shield me, keeping me safe. And I think it gave me strength in my most terrible battles, Ostagar being one of them.
Warden: And also in your fight with Petra’s demon.
Wynne: I don’t know why I was chosen. Perhaps it knew that there was something more that lay in store for me. I like to think that I was given a rare chance, and I’m going to make the best of the time so generously given to me.
– Wynne Dialogue
This spirit of faith was Wynne’s close companion, her friend and her ally in many battles. It had aided and protected her on several previous occasions. Wynne’s possession, taking place just before the start of the Broken Circle quest, was a last ditch effort to save her life when nothing else would work, and the spirit chose to do that because it already knew her.
Yes: I’ll happily grant that being attacked by demons in the Fereldan Circle was not in itself safe, but Wynne was probably the safest person there. Certainly safer than the Tranquil mages you encounter being attacked by demons:
Tumblr media
Tranquil: Thank you. That was an uncomfortable experience.
A hypothetical Tranquil Wynne would have lost contact with her spirit friend when her connection to the Fade was severed. Had she been in the Fereldan Circle in that condition there would have been no one to protect her, and she would likely have been tortured, forcibly possessed, or killed.
Wynne is a spirit healer, and notes that honing her skills made her better at perceiving and dealing with the denizens of the Fade. Likewise her son, Rhys, also a spirit healer, develops a close and unusual relationship with the spirit Cole. Anders, again, a spirit healer, has a close relationship with Justice that is largely hampered by his Circle-taught fear of becoming an ‘abomination’.
Mages, broadly, are good at dealing with spirits. ‘Spirit healers’, specifically, through honing that talent, are very good at it and tend to bond with specific spirits.
The Orlesian Empire, and its Chantry, needing people to oversee magic and deal with Fade-related crises when they arose, did not give this job to the people best suited to it – i.e. mages. Instead, they chose to create ‘mages’ who were not mages by inflicting a kind of magical brain damage on individuals without their knowledge or consent, and then just ... hoping that a spirit who did not know this random person would deign to reverse the damage.
They then used it to prevent actual mages from doing what they’re best at: dealing with the Fade. And along the way, they caused enormous trauma to numerous people in their care.
So nope: I stand by what I said. Tranquillity is a crude ritual for contacting a spirit of faith and terribly unsafe. It is ‘necessary’ only in the sense that Orlais has an intense prejudice against mages and has thus created workarounds to produce people with magical ability who don’t ‘count’ as mages (Seekers and Tranquillity; templars and lyrium) to police magic use and deal with demons.
Wynne’s way was infinitely safer. She just bonded with her spirit naturally. And it protected her from everything the world threw at her.
Note: I’ve tried to be civilised and put this under a cut, but for some reason Tumblr won’t let me. Other posts yes. This post no. So – apologies for the length.

A little about me and this blog.
Certainly, I do not expect everyone to agree with everything said here. As a matter of fact this blog is merely a way for me to transmit and record the knowledge I already possess and will acquire through research regarding the Occult subject, but not only that, it is also a way of reaching out to fellow people who might have a better understanding of certain parts if not the whole of the subject.
Now, who am I? My name shall not be revealed concerning my safety and privacy, though if you wish to address to me you can use the name LeNoir or the initials LN . I’m a 18 year old guy with a very curious mind and an affinity to things considered Occult or Supernatural. I consider myself a Solitary -Eclectic witch/warlock for te reasons that I’m still too young to join a coven (and i do not know if any exist near me) and because I am drawn to lots and different magical practices respectively. But enough about me.
What is a Witch?
Well, to begin, many people use the word “Witch” to describe someone evil and malevolent who worships the Devil and causes misfortunes with spells and curses. Non of that is true I can say and be sure of it. Although, people who worship the Devil will call themselves Witches and some witches (very rarely) have the potential to cause troubles with curses. But again, that is very rare, as witches only wish to bring good things in their’s and other’s lives, and it is known amongst witches that whatever you give to the universe, the universe gives back at the same rate.
For me, the word “Witch” defines someone who practices witchcraft which broadly means the practice of and belief in magical skills/abilities that are able to be exercised by individuals and certain social groups. If you learn about, and practice various rituals and perform certain aspects of the craft, you are considered a Witch. Though you do not have to necessarily perform any of the Rituals and the Practices to be a Witch. If you feel that you are a magical person and you can feel that you are connected to the universe and everything around you and that you have the power to influence some of it’s aspects with your will, than you are a Witch.
What can a Witch do?
Everything :) . Divination, Psychometry, Lithomancy, Palmistry, Scrying, Hexing, spells and curses are some of the most popular practices of witchcraft. Witches can do everything they want, intention and will power matters the most. Sure, moon phases, seasons, months, days and hours, planetary positions as well as affinities and understanding are important but a Witch always knows that mind rules over matter and will power is the key to everything.
Types of witches
Yes, there are certain types of witches and it all depends only on affinities and what someone may feel closer to or have a better understanding of it and they are referred to as “paths”. Now, you don’t have to necessarily put yourself under a tag but finding your affinities will definitely help you with your studies and practices.
Solitary  - Practicing by ones’ self; not included in a group.
Secular  - Non-religious / Not connecting with deity(s).
Eclectic  - An individual’s practice that has bits and pieces pulled from different magickal and/or spiritual practices, respectfully.
(Theistic) Satanic  - Witchcraft that is often centered around honoring and/or working with satan in spellwork and prayer.
Atheist /Laveyan Satanic  - Witchcraft worked with the idea that satan is a concept, rather than a real person or entity (loosely put; it’s a very detailed concept). Also known as Satanic witches who fit the secular description.
Hereditary/Blood  - Including oneself in the practice of witchcraft on the grounds of having been born into a family who also practices. Knowledge and practice may also be passed down through generations, and honor old ways of magick.
Traditional  - One who practices witchcraft by honoring and using old and ‘traditional’ ways of magick; this type of witch might be one to practice modern methods of magick, but they might also stick to traditional concepts or techniques.
Christian  - Witchcraft that is performed to honor / or is performed in conjunction with the Christian God as the primary and only deity.
Hellenic  - A form of non-witchcraft practice in which the practicer follows Greek ideals/culture and honors the Greek pantheon.
Celtic  - Magickal practice that is based from the Celtic culture, including its’ mythology, deities, old ways, and (occasionally) language / symbols. May also describe those who only worship Celtic gods.
Science  - A form of magick in which both metaphysical ideas and scientific facts/theories are mixed in together by the individual practicer.
Types of Witchcraft
I took the information from another blog Rainy-Day-Witchcraft and assigned them in categories.
Keep in mind that each term’s explaination is the basic description of that type of witchcraft/magick; each individual witch might be a certain type but define it differently, as their practice may be different from the next Witch.
Spiritual :
Dream  - (A possible variation of Hedge) Mindful and internal magickal practice mainly based from interpreting dreams and/or engaging in lucid dreaming. Those who intensify as this may “de-code” symbols and messages in the dream world similar to how one would use a divination technique.
Hedge  - Also known as an astral title, a type of magick that is oriented around more spiritual work; astral travel/projection, lucid dreaming, spirit-work, healing, and out-of-body experiences are all practices included in this magick.
Faery/Fey  - Magick for those who communicate and work with the fey during spells and rituals. Usually, those who work with the fey may also leave offerings regularly, as thanks for the assistance of a faery in their spellwork.
Spirit Working  - A practice in which the person will perform spellwork in conjunction with or with the help of any manner of spirit. This includes Ouija, (sometimes) demon spirits, spiritual contact, etc.
Draconian - Refers to type of magick for those who call upon or work with dragons and dragon imagery in their practice; whether it be through astral matters or in spells and rituals.
Death/Necromancy  - A practice that may combine Bone, Animal, Spirit work, occasionally also Blood. Using spirits to empower one self, hoarding bones, using graveyards, graves, the spirits of them, as well as the dirt (or even plants) that are found in them. May also honor the dead and/or gods who work with the dead.
Chaos/Chaotic  - A type of magick utilizing new, non-traditional, and unorthodox methods. It is a new and highly individualistic practice, while still drawing from other common forms of magick.
Animal  - (A variant of Green) Magick that is strongly tied to the animal kingdom, which includes a deep appreciation for all animals, and most often: usage of animal materials in spellwork. An animal witch will most likely be one who loves animals, a person who animals are immediently “drawn” to, and those who appreciate the natural world. Some animal witches might also use bones, wings, feathers, fur, skin, scales, (etc). from deceased animals in their magick, if they choose to do so.
Sigil  - A witchcraft working majorly with sigils, and the intent that can be put into them to active their power.
Grey  - A neutral witch, who practices magick that neither benefits or harms others. Grey magick may also both harm and benefit at the same time, balancing and neutralizing.
Lunar  - One who works magick with / honors the moon and it’s energy and phases. This type of witch is also one to favor casting magick during the night hours rather than during the day.
Astronomy/Space  - (A wider variant of lunar) Those who practice magick and correlate their beliefs in conjunction with the planets and stars! These witches may focus their magick with the properties of each planet, regularly read a horoscope or study astrology, and have a love of the stars and the night.
Energy  - Those who prefer to do magick through energy exercises and manipulation rather than with many physical tools or materials; using the enhanced power of the mind and the body’s natural energies to bring about a magickal result or feeling. (Also may include aura work).
Heathenry  - a practice in which the individual follows, works with, and/or worships the Norse deities.
Lokean  - Someone who works with/worships Loki and/or any of his relations (Hel, Jormugandr, Sigyn, Angrboda, etc) ; does not exclude other deities.
Odinism  - A faith that works mostly with Odin, Thor, Freyjr, Freyja, Frigga, and Heimdall.
Asatru  - Literally “Faith in the [Old] Gods” it is a more specific branch of Heathenry that worships the major Nordic pantheon, minus Loki, Fenrir, or other “adversary” gods.
Gaulish  - A practice that involves worshipping Gaulish gods.
Kemetic  - Worshipping and working with Egyptian deities.
Elemental :
Green  - Utilizing greenery/plants/herbs/flowers in herbal and natural magick, such as creating blends of different plants or using primarily herbs in spellwork.
Sea  - A type of magick derived from materials and abstract ideas involving the ocean and oceanic world. Sea/Ocean magick can be worked using seashells and bones, sea weed, beach sand, driftwood, ocean water, etc. and a sea witch might draw their energy from that of the sea!
Storm/Weather  - Magick that is worked by combining one’s energy with the energy of the weather, and most commonly rain. Weather witches will do things like collect rain/snow water, absorb the energy of a lightning storm, “whistle up” or manipulate wind, predict the weather, etc.
Garden  - While having a garden and/or working in any type of garden; magick that is mostly (if not all) herbal and botanical-related! Garden witches take pride and find it calming or invigorating to work the earth, harvest that which they have planted, and are closely related to Green type.
Elemental  - Magick that is worked by honoring/acknowledging the 4 or all 5 elements: Water, Earth, Air, Fire, and Spirit. Commonly an Elementalist will dedicate different areas of their altars to each element, call upon them during spells and rituals, and use symbols to represent each.
Water  - Specifically centered on the element of Water; water scrying, collecting sea/storm/snow/river/spring water, swimming/bath spells and other water-related actives, creating and using symbols associated with water.
Earth  - Specifically centered on the element of Earth; grounding exercises, rock/soil collecting, strong appreciation of the natural world, creating and using symbols associated with earth.
Air  - Specifically centered on the element of Air; working with wind, using air-related tools (such as the wand), creating and using symbols associated with air.
Fire  - Specifically centered on the element of Fire; Using anything fire-related (bonfires, candles, burning objects) in most spellwork, creating and using symbols associated with fire.
Flora - Much like a Green or Garden witch, those who work majorily with floral materials and flowers in their practice and in their spellwork! Their grimoire may be heavily associated with flowers rather than herbs, and likewise, one might use flower properties in spell or craft work.
Seasonal  - Witches who utilize and draw energy from the specific times of year for their magick, sort of how a person might have a strong love or connection to a certain time of year! This can also be spread out into Winter, Autumn, Spring and Summer witches.
“Poison Path”  - Working with plants, herbs, other items that may be poisonous, deadly, cause hallucinogenic effects, or affect the mind or body in some way. (sometimes aphrodisiacs are included).
Desert  - Using and utilizing the desert environment. Lots of work with hardier plants such as Cacti or Tumbleweeds. Use of the moon, desert earth, fire, rare water (especially rainwater), wind, local plants and herbs, as well as animals/creatures of the desert such as snakes, spiders, scorpions, and so on.
Swamp/Bog  - Heavy use of water and moisture, rich we soil/mud, sometimes incorporates the use of bones, animals, and insects, especially the local plants of the Swamp.
Material :
Cottage / Hearth - (A slight variation from kitchen) Magick that is weaved, worked, or embued into mundane tasks around the house or for loved ones. Cottage/Hearth magick may be worked into daily tasks such as cleaning, cooking, or any hobbies.
Kitchen  - Magick that is worked specifically through “kitchen craft” such as herbal mixtures, brewing, baking, and cooking, and honors many aspects of the natural world: including herbs, crystals, fey, and the elements.
Tea  - Those who drink tea, make tea, use tea-leaf divination, or enjoy blending herbal remedies! A variant of Kitchen/Cottage witch.
Embroidery / Sewing / Knit  - One who embues magick into household “stitching” or “string” hobbies such as embroidery, sewing, knitting, stringing, and knotting ~ Basically, one who identifies with using knot or chord magick in many different skills.
Paper  - Magick that is worked with, essentially, paper! Burning paper written with sigils, chants, symbols or spells, creating magickal offerings, items, or sachels from paper, etc.
Music  - Magick that is worked with music, musical chimes, or rhythm! Humming/singing, clapping, singing chants during spells, playing instruments (even simple ones, like the triangle or bells), or even just simply playing music during spellwork, magick, or during energy exercises are a few common things a music witch might fancy.
Art/Craft  - Witchcraft that can be worked through arts and crafts, simply put! One may embue macgick in creative activities such as painting, drawing, building, cutting, creating, etc.
Bone  - Witches who commonly collect, clean, and use animal bones in their magickal practice, and for things like altar decoration or magick-infused charms/jewelry. Materials used by those who identify as Bone witches are usually collected peacefully or after the being has passed on naturally!
Crystal  - Magick that is worked commonly with stones and crystals, such as during spellwork or for crystal healing techniques. This may also include chakra balance, crystal meditation… anything that uses crystals, really! A crystal witch may also have an extensive knowledge of stones, including how to identify them and using their properties.
Literary  - Those who practice magick through books and literature; a literary witch may do thing such as using book divination, often study witchcraft/magick even after the “beginner” phase of learning, etc. Also a term used to describe witches in stories, books, or movies.
Other :
Pop Culture  - Uses pop culture as a main focus or inspiration for the craft. Using lyrics or movie lines in spells, worshipping and honoring pop culture icons or idols, use of fandom, and more. It is a very wide practice. Examples may include drawing from Harry Potter spells or using invented sigils from shows like Supernatural.
Urban Primative/City  - For those who live or prefer the urban/city lifestyle; magick that can be worked without the seemingly “traditional” ways of witchcraft.
Like i said, I do not expect everyone to agree with me. I’m open to submissions and suggestions. No GOAT
Hello there all, here's something that has become the topic of the ages in hip-hop.....the status of The G.O.A.T THE GOAT: For those unfamiliar with this term,G.O.A.T is an acronym for Greatest Of All Time. Right now as you're reading you're probably thinking Tupac and Biggie aren't you? Well it's quite difficult to come up with a formulaic approach in unearthing the true, and singular entity of...The GOAT. This status is often attributed to the many artists and it seems no one can agree on a singular GOAT in the rap game mostly because we are just too subjective in our approach. -The Debate- Who are debating these things? no really, think about it. We have Backpackers who seem to be more inclined on towards the underground spectrum,we have the indigos and spiritualists who have an affinity for psychedelics, philosophy, and the third eye amongst other things,we have the trap heads who dabble in money, cars, clothes, women, and the selling of drugs which has been the stereotype for hip-hop to various onlookers(fake cough mom and dad fake cough). Of course there are many others in between such as Christian and Muslim hip-hop or Pop Rap(shout out to Drake and Nicki). The bottom line here is that there are just too many kinds of people with too many differing interests many of which are SUBJECTIVE. Oh let's not forget the Stans or as their derogatorily called d***riders, but we'll get to them shortly -The Artist- Ah the main man/woman,the person who this is all about...the artist as it should've been obvious above is definitely on one spectrum of hip-hop or another, sometimes hybrids. Genre-wise we have the Cloud Rap of A$AP Rocky, the Acid Rap of Chance The Rapper(or raper as some people without autocorrect say....I'm playing lol),the Alternative Rap of Danny Brown(not sure if he says Cha! or Check!),and the Gangsta Rap of Jay Rock. But let's move away from genre right now and delve into the actual rap structure Punchlines: Punchlines come in many forms, some corny, some awesome, some nasty, and some downright outrageous as I say it in a faux British accent. Punchlines are either metaphors or more regularly as similes like Childish Gambino's line from Arrangement which goes like "Bank account looking like when little kids break s***". Vocabulary: This is the artist's word bank right here. Statistics say right now the current artist with the most extensive vocabulary is Aesop Rock(don't confuse him with the cloud rapper). Language: Of course the language in rap by default will have to be mostly the jargon of hip-hop such "homie","stunt",or the one that white people use to feel more black is the timeless classic "nah mean". Lyricism: The actual artist's use of metaphors, wordplay, double entendres(or more),and all the lot. Flow: Is the artist's mastery of rhyme scheme. Subject Matter: The rapper's topic of discussion....that was a quick one lol. -Criteria- Again may I note that G.O.A.T is something that should be viewed in the most objective of forms but that's virtually impossible if we think about it. The GOAT is the guy or gal who is the best to have ever done it as some or most would say. Many of the names thrown in were those most revered in the rap pantheon such as the iconic Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G,Immortal Technique has been thrown in there,Eminem as well(he has literally been given the moniker of King Of Hip-Hop or more recently The Rap God). This artists are all too different in my eyes...or rather my ears lol,so what criteria do people use in their rationing? -The Stan formula- The d***rider formula is basic and is merely off of pure emotional investment in artist.... like it's so bad that even if their favorite artist were to intentionally make a bad song the artist nonetheless can do no wrong in the stans opinion. The Stan's lack of musical variety doesn't help the situation either. Stans have been prevalent over the years and often are on side of an argument from the Tupac vs Biggie, the Jay-Z vs Nas,the 50 Cent vs The Game, all the way down to Kendrick vs Cole.....Cole even says "Get off my d***" and stans ride his d*** heavy nonetheless lmao. Basically the Stan formula has always been flawed. -Non Stan Formula- Finally we're getting somewhere right? Well wrong! This one is also very difficult because of people's general interest. I once overheard a group of girls playing a Kendrick Lamar song...King Junta to be precise. One of the girls voiced here interest in the song and here disdain for the first single 'i'....these are both the same artist's songs and both are jazz rap/funk right? So what went wrong? Well I know the chick so i know she just wants a song she can dance to with her gal pals and at a clyb so 'i' in that respect lost her favour cause it was something your grandaddy might dance to(coolest grandpa ever am I right?). Another Cocoa Butter Kisses by Chance The Rapper....your girlfriend has the song unbeknownst to you,it's smooth,it's catchy,it's loveable off the bat but some might praise that song and hate on "Angels". These people are more interested in the sonic aspects of rappers. Some would prefer subject matter as the main argumentative basis in the case of Tupac's anti establishment and thuglife stories being put over...I dunno....Drake's raps about exes we don't know of nor care about lol,no shots at Drizzy. Others like storytelling, others are more inclined towards metaphor and punchlines, others might just prefer relatabilty to an artist. -The Sound- I often come across these situations...a trap song comes out, people play it like there's no tomorrow, and I ask...."What is he saying?"....they wouldn't know the lyrics aside from the hook but in their defence they would say that "the beat is sick though". This can lead many astray from the actual rap. Of course the beat is essential to the music like how I like the "Waves" beat by Joey Bada$$ which induces such irrational nostalgia or how the "Bonfire"beat of Childish Gambino gets me turnt or how "The Book of Soul" beat by Ab-Soul can get me in my feels....someone please hand me a Feels Guy meme. At end of the day we're judging rapping prowess. -The Untouchables- There are certain "elite" groups which have released timeless classics to the public that now challenging their GOAT status is considered blasphemy. Often this are artists that unleash the inner Stan hidden in most of us. Tupac and Biggie being center stage at all of it,with practically everyone else taking second place to them in the hierarchy.... Some people who lack the knowledge of hip hop just assume these two men impregnated each other and birthed hip hop. Although they have been essential to the evolution of hip hop it was not really a two man job. Others such as DMX,Snoop Dogg,Wu Tang Clang and more also did their part in shaping hip hop in it's golden ages and many are arguably in Pac and Biggie's league. I bet a will be crucified for this part lol so let me end it there. -Sales- Let me get to it......Sales don't mean jack!!!!! This is perhaps one of the most absurd arguments out there. An artist's record sales are not representative of their skill things such as the formerly famous now infamous J.Cole "double platinum no features" accolade have clouded people's judgment and they make it out to be Cole's only suit of armor of relevance. Or Drake's "Views" which was by far hot steamy garbage and yet look it went 4x Platinum. The Sale's argument has been buried alive by the increase in internet streaming and Chance The Rapper's 3 Grammy awards with not a single copy sold. Granted such accolades or ones similar are impressive but many seriously great artists cannot be judged by the accolades or lack thereof......if we had to then that would mean Illmatic is also hot steamy garbage cause it took years for it to turn platinum and that would mean Kevin Gates' album which also went platinum with no features(not the deluxe edition) is greater than illmatic....right? -Conclusion- Music has and always will be subjective. The search for the G.O.A.T is just too hard and futile. Unless somehow the gods send us a hip-hop Jesus(not Slim Jesus),one who has all the flow and lyricism in the world and is able to function successfully every single subgenre of hip-hop...and yes that includes dabbling in both Christian and Muslim rap....as contradictory as that may be. I dunno what your thoughts on this might be,I might get challenged and called a fake fan of hip hop or something.... I'm mean real recognize real right? As the slogan goes. Peace
