Juno steel s5 has not only be disappointing so far (especially compared to the masterpiece that s2 was) but also made me homophobic towards nureyev

Theres something I love about Juno so much. Nureyev doesn't tell Meelee his name, he calls him Ransom around Meelee but when shes gone he goes straight back to Nureyev, Meelee asks Nureyevs name and Juno instantly jumps in to keep it from her. Even when Nureyev is a total ass to him, even when it wouldn't matter if someone knew his name cause no one can arrest him or send him back to brahma Juno keeps it a secret. Nureyevs secret to give out. He know how much his name matters to hime. It makes my heart melt

Mmmmm- see I'm bad at developing theories for what comes next, but there are things I want to see come to fruition...
Slip is dead. Deaddy dead diddly dead doop dop dead. The plug is gonna get pulled on his life support and all the others. The Dokana Group is going down.
Peter’s gonna have some blood on his hands. Give me a parallel to Angel of Brahma to when he stabbed Mag. Give me a parallel to when he killed Mr. Engstrom and told Juno to turn around so he wouldn't have to see the blood. (Hell I'd die if as tumblr user Gwenlena said "I hope Jupeter massacre the executives" actually happens)
I am still holding out hope for a "Nureyev it's been a while." This whole time we've been following Juno year by year. But we know Kaner&Vibret are comfortable in writing time skips (see: second citadel's massive time skip) so I am fully prepared for a series finale with a time skip and Juno back home in Hyperion minding his own business and the window is cracked open and he turns around and theres a tall man stretched across his bed and "Nureyev, it's been a while." [Fade out. "My Kind of Girl" fades in. Vibert tells us this is the end, "that's all we have time for today dear traveler"]
Would absolutely kill for a throw back to Murderous Mask. Either "signed your better half, Peter Nureyev", Juno slapping cuffs on Peter again, OR Juno's keys being pickpocketed right from underneath his nose. ALTERNATIVELY: I would murder for Juno to be the one "your better half, Juno Steel", Juno is cuffs (tho we kinda already got that earlier this season), or Juno plucking the plasma cutter from Peter's pocket-
AND OH I WOULD DIE FOR A THROW BACK TO JAWS OF DEATH TYPE SCENE WHERE PETER AS REX GLASS HAS JUNO PULL OUT THE PLASMA CUTTER FROM HIS POCKET-

rubs my gay lil hands together (Eso au tag)
ok some basic general info. ESO = Elder scrolls online. The game takes place in the same universe as other elder scrolls names such as the very popular TES V: Skyrim. I won't go too in depth in explaining lore unless its relevant since theres way too much
Jon is a half imperial/half redguard member of the Mages Guild who contracts vampirisim on a research mission hes sent on. He doesn't look to get it cured before its too late because of a mix of stubbornness and trauma from the ordeal. He starves and isolates himself for a while before finally deciding to look for a cure, however vampirism isnt exactly easy to cure once you're in the full stages of it. he starts going looking for Elias for help because Elias was researching vampirism when he was still in the Guild. Jon did know of Elias before this and looked up to him quite a lot as a mentor.
Elias is breton Necromancer who got kicked out of the Mages Guild for practicing necromancy. They turned a blind eye to it for a while because he was a very accomplished healer but he resurrected the wrong noble once and that was it. He leaves and settles in Summerset to continue his... research... undisturbed. He studied Restoration magic and practiced as a healer mostly as a way to extend his own life, and when he exhausted that knowledge jumped straight into necromancy to continue his search for immortality.
Eventually Jon tracks him down and begs him for help and Elias eventually agrees when he figures he can use Jon as study material (without Jon's consent ofc). Elias does secretly know a way for Jon to be cured but hides it from him so he can continue using him.
Both of them eventually get mixed up in the Main Questline of eso which involves one of the daedric princes (think... evil gods kinda) trying to merge his own realm, Coldharbor, with the mortal realm, Nirn. Elias gets captured by the cult worshiping him and gets sacrificed and his soul stolen. Jon has to rescue him from Coldharbor and from then on theyre sorta dragged into saving the world? (Elias *very* begrudgingly.)
They get into a lot of other hi jinks on their travels, mostly Jon wanting to help people and having to convince Elias to go out his way and be a good guy for once.
um! thats the general gist and whats going on in the posts me and benny have made so far (other than Elias being horny for Jon's monstery vampire form lol). The au does continue after Elias gets his soul back but this post is already way too long haha

Juno Steel is literally genders of all time. And i get what you mean about Penumbra. Personally i think of the penumbra podcast like a really good story hidden inside a very hard to listen to podcast. Like theres is much good in here!!... and even i struggle to be enagaged listening to an episode sometimes. Luckily an obsession with Peter Nureyev is strong enough to power through all that
this is so true. i love a lot of the story (mostly juno as he’s the reason i really latched onto the show) but the show itself has a lot of issues that makes it difficult to fully enjoy. a hyperfixation on one character is somehow enough to get me through it though so ✌️
#it’s mostly the production quality that i have a hard time with#if that’s the right word#sound mixing and some voice acting is really poor and the dialogue is a little too corny at times#and i also don’t like when they make out and i have to hear it. it could be alright but it catches me so off guard#also some of the controversies + the way the creators hamdle it#like the characters ‘official’ designs and that thing with the artist they hired#ok i’m done…#☀️🌈🔥

Wait so why do you dislike Slip? Like I can totally see how he isn’t a character that everyone would get as attached to as, say, Rita. But you seem to actively dislike the character and I’d just like to hear your thoughts about it
oh I'm so glad you asked
here's my theory:
- slip secretly holds a grudge against nureyev for what he said to him the last time they saw eachother
- he gets nureyev addicted to drugs, or just generally puts him in danger with all the dodgy shit going on
- his goal on saraswati is to get the cure mother, cos like drugs and stuff idk
- since slip has taken care of him and given him somewhere to stay, nureyev feels like he owes slip his life, or perhaps slip feels as though he does
- slip is therefore the person who nureyev is in this huge debt to
- slip's been threatening nureyev, saying that if he fails to pay his debt he'll hurt the carte blanche
- nureyev steals the map, key, blade, and book in order to protect his family
- once he gives him the stuff, slip holds nureyev hostage or threatens to kill him or something
- juno and the gang now have the opportunity to save nureyev (he complains a lot about how much he's had to save juno so here's juno's chance to return the favour)
additional reasoning:
- the reason that nureyev was able to come up with such an elaborate story on the spot (telling nova that juno was involved in organised crime, debt, etc.) was because it was actually true, just not juno obviously
- slip is a little bitch and i dont like him
