I haven't read any of ASC, but I've been thinking about this AUwhere Nightheart is the kit of Lionblaze and the spitting image of Hollyleaf.

Make his struggles being not orange being tied to his half (well i guess quarter) clan heritage (I know it's used a lot but here me out)

Your dad's this big, important senior warrior, well respected, but he can't even look at you for too long cuz you look so much like his dead sister. He's also this big hulking mass of a warrior, but you've got a skinny little body that screams WindClan blood.

And your uncle is the clans med cat, but every time he treats you, his paws shake, and every time you ask about your aunt, his sharp tongue gets even sharper.

Have older ThunderClan cats who knew that Hollyleaf killed Ashfur whisper behind his back about how they wished he had been born a year or two earlier. How he's such a spitting image of Hollyleaf that surely he could take Ashfur down.

And even after, while the clans try to settle down, the tension and stigma around codebreakers still simmers in the air. And here's this ThunderClan cat who looks like he's Breezepelt's kid instead of Lionblaze's.

Nightheart who just wants to be a part of his clan but can't shake the feeling that he's an outcast. His dad looks at him with sadness and grief in his eyes. His clanmates who spin wild stories and tales about how Hollyleaf seemingly died and then came back. Nightheart who actually experiences being compared to other cats who look like him, specifically cats who are still alive, and being told he could do all of these great things.

Nightheart who alientates himself and believes no one knows what he's going through, when his mother, Cinderheart, was seemingly/rumoured to be possessed by a cat she looks similair to, was named after, and suffered a similair injury to.

Nightheart who flees his clan because of this, but then realizes his aunt Hollyleaf did the same thing. ThunderClan thought she was dead. ThunderClan must think he's dead. Hollyleaf came back and took down an evil that threatened StarClan.

i dont know where else to go from here but nightheart could be cool if the erins could just break away from their favorite toxic couple's bloodline pls. and explore cross clan relationships beyond just the two lovers and their immediate offspring

What have they done to the plot 😭😭😭

Thinking about how two key points in Steve’s character development are:

At the end of season one when he chose the girl he liked over his shitty friends that treated her poorly

At the end of season three when Robin turned him down and he chose having her feature just as heavily in his life as a friend (even if it could potentially send confusing signals to some girls) instead of keeping his focus romantic and writing her off or just hanging out with her at work

I just think it’s so interesting how at first glance it’s like he’s learning to prioritize romance over friendship then friendship over romance and there is a contrast there, but really it’s very complementary development

Like he’s learning a balance of people you’re interested in romantically matter more than shitty friends who treat them horribly and make fun of you BUT ALSO friends that actually matter to you and make you happy are just as important and being with someone romantically isn’t everything

And what it all really comes down to is the core of his character development: prioritizing the people he cares most about instead of taking the self-centred/easier road out and putting in effort to fix his mistakes/show the people he cares about that they matter to him

hi, I don't use tumblr often, but i when i do, i always check your account to check if you posted something. LIAB is amazing. i truly have no words. i have read a LOT of fanfics from very different fandoms and i can confidently say that Leaving It All Behind is the best one i have ever read. the world you've built around the main characters is so deep, and realistic. even though benders are not real, it feels like i'm reading about true events. you describe the horrors of war and trauma so well. i'm actually very, very impressed. i happen to be a person that suffers from ptsd and other mental illnesses and and the way you portray traumatized characters is very realistic. i know you always say that the main characters' recovery is unrealistically fast, but don't worry about that. the way you describe zuko and sokka's feelings is perfect. their recovery doesn't seem rushed. it just looks like they're adapting and learning how to deal with it fast (we have to remember that the war is still very much happening and sadly they don't have a lot of time to deal with everything that happened to them). i'm so grateful i found your work. it's truly amazing, i hope you won't give up on writing when you finish the LIAB trilogy. have a good day/night

seriously this was so kind I’m still in shock. I’m so happy you think the healing arc is realistic because I try to balance the stories pace with the characters struggles and emotions (some of them make it DIFFICULT haha) but I’m always worried it doesn’t translate well.

when I was a kid I bought volumes of Sailor Moon at random based on cover art, not knowing anything about linear story, and now that I'm finally reading my completed collection, I can say concretely that I was right to do that bc the Sailor Moon manga is ass. Somehow as a kid, I'd randomly selected the volumes with the best content, aka the side stories about the Sailor Scouts, aka the only ways you get to connect with them at all bc they might as well not be part of the main story for how little they affect anything. Thank god for the anime bc this shit is so shallow. I love and honor it still, but it is so shallow.

GOD THEY ARE SO….. tasty! lately i’ve been fondling* the idea of vriska not being capable of having any sort of relationship beyond pale. cause she’s crazy and stuff. as we all know. and i’ve been thinking about that in regards to the fandom. i’m no veteran but i remember people saying vrisrezi was like, incest, because they were the “scourge sisters”. but something changed i Guess and now people are ok with it. maybe something to do with dirkjake, hell if i know.

but it really makes ya think. i’m not sure if this happened actually in canon or not or if i’m thinking of a fanfic but i think hussie says something like “yea vriska isn’t capable of a flushed relationship. but you’ll keep pining anyway dumbass!” to terezi. then she goes on a forever quest and leaves john cold cocked. and…… like……… what with doomed vrisrezi and that scrapped kiss………… even though technically they Should both have attained what they wanted to attain, full character arcs. or like, lost interest in it.** even with all of that. is veiska still not capable of flushed or black anything? not even ashen? god damn. is she just… permanently broken. like my car. no, no.. hahaha.. nothing could be THAT broken. hah. hooooo weeeee

**vriska doesn’t care about being narratively important or bloodthirsty&can be vulnerable, terezi has vriska, is more grounded in terms of sanity i guess, also less bloodthirstiness. they both have someone to see them as people and not what their society wants of them. wow kinda basic if you ask me, hussie!!
