Repost @theflooffam Over the last week, we’ve received SO many comments and messages regarding Meeky’s weight and how ‘abusive’ and ‘sick’ we are as pet owners 🥺 When we found Meeko at a Petco that was shutting down, she had been there for months and developed hind-leg weakness because of the conditions she was in. We spent countless hours gently helping her gain the strength back in her legs with water therapy and exercise, only to bond with her more than we have with any other pet. Throughout the last few years, we’ve dealt with her horrible food allergies and IBD that make her projectile vomit yellow bile, we’ve spent money on foods that ended up being donated because they didn’t work for her and losing sleep at night not knowing what the next day would bring. Thousands of dollars later, her spleen nearly ruptured on us in October due to inflammation from cancer. After all the preventive measures we took, we couldn’t stop this form of metastatic cancer that popped up before she even turned 3, and all we can do is wait patiently to see if we caught it in time. Many ferret families end up dealing with similar health issues because of the poor breeding practices of Marshall Farms/Marshall Bioresources. While we don’t support Petco because of their horrible pet care, Marshall Farms is the reason a lot of our fuzzbutts end up suffering from the same fate. I can’t believe I missed Clyde, Lucy and Tooty’s ‘Gotcha Day!’ 😭 This beautiful trio was surrendered to me on the 9th last year, and I can easily say they’ve brightened this house with SO much love.
