the thing about glass onion versus knives out is that in knives out benoit starts immediately on the offensive. he’s not hiding his role or his intelligence nearly as much as he is for the first half of glass onion. and i like the deception of glass onion, the way he manages to convince them all that he’s just some simple southern gentleman, when really he’s deadly wickedly smart and never lets his guard down for a moment. the way he swoops in out of nowhere in glass onion, goes from this bumbling fool to razor-sharp intellect, it reminds me of a carnivorous plant, luring its prey in further and further until it suddenly snaps shut, offering no chance of escape.
