i actually can’t stop thinking about ice hockey player!bakugou
they’re all so big and beefy, always ready to shove into someone and i just can’t get him out of my head. i wish i knew more about ice hockey to write about him 😭 he’s SO HOT
thinking about him with a mouth guard in, eyeing you from down in the rink with a vicious smile on his face after he just scored a point. he’s got blood all over the white of his mouth guard, staining his lips a little but he doesn’t care because you’re there, cheering him on.
thinking about when he’s training, let’s you come along to hang around rink side & you watch him and kirishima practicing. always trying to impress you too with how fast he actually is on the ice despite being so well built and tall
he’ll come over to you too probably before a game starts, large arms leaning against the barrier, kissing all over you when you lean in close to him when he asks for “just a kiss baby, for good luck”, makes the rest of his teammates wolf whistle when he gets a little carried away
ALSO there’s apparently a move called a howitzer, which is just a speedy shot at the puck. definitely bakugous signature move because he’s so strong so he hits it so fast 😵💫

Kristen Arknights is giving me brainworms this cannot continue
Before Lone Trail, I was really convinced that "ah yeah so she's really evil", like what, she approved and conducted the Diabolic Experiment? She approved the experiment at Site #359 and was probably looking at the giant Hub from her window, presumably while eating popcorns, and when Saria arrived to scream at her "WHAT THE FUCK" Kristen just replied "Oh hey I knew you would solve it"? She also funded Loken's Watertank and collected his data on children experiments after he got arrested??
Any sane person would be calling her an egoist, a betrayer, a seeker, a loner
And yet, she was a pioneer.
Lone Trail dropped and now, I don't even know what to think anymore of this character. Like I don't approve what she has done, but also, I don't hate her. She put me into a state of mind I can't think straight anymore. This dog is TRULY fucked up.
She was obsessed, truly obsessed by her dream. She wanted to achieve what her parents had failed to do. She wanted to honor her family, to prove something to the world. To find the truth. To break the sky.
And she fucking did it. She absolutely did. She achieved it, she had done what nobody has ever done before. Regardless of the methods, regardless of morals and ethics, what she did was HUGE. That night, everyone on Terra looked up at the sky. She made a huge step forward, she revolutioned and changed things. The moment she pierced the starpod, a page in the history of the world had been turned, a new era has started. This event was major. And countless scientists will look up upon her, and for ages, her name will be praised.
And she did at what cost? Everything. Her own life, her friends.
I can't stop thinking about how much she tried to keep Saria away from her. I thought that Kristen was using Saria, that she didn't care about her, but actually it's... Something else. She does care about Saria, but it's Saria who was completely obsessed with Kristen. It's Saria who refused to let go. Of course, Saria devoted her life to protect Kristen, she wanted to stay with her until the very end. Kristen did not wanted it, she wanted Saria to continue to live on. It's her dream, and she's ready to die to achieve it. Not Saria's. Nor Muelsyse's.
I can't stop thinking about how she tried EVERYTHING to stop Saria. She studied her Arts, found ways to supress them, created Power Armors to neutralize them, she showed coldness to Saria to keep her away. But god, Saria was clingy as hell. If Kristen had to get to install a trap door in her spaceship SPECIFICALLY for Saria, that's to say how much Saria did not want to let go.
Saria was ready to die for Kristen, she was ready to stay with her until the very end. But Kristen always had in mind to go alone.
And in the end, she had to show Saria that she deserves to live, to continue, that there's still people who need her. Rhine Lab needs her. Ifrit needs her. Silence needs her. Rhodes Island needs her. She can't join Kristen like that. She can't die yet.
Even if Kristen was obsessed by her dream, she was still able to care enough for Saria and the people around her.
And god fucking damn I'm crying
Kristen is absolutely the best antagonist of all Arknights there's absolutely no way we can't do better, I'm standing on my ground

THE WEIRD AL-CANA - 0. THE FOOL - DARE TO BE STUPID
---
what better time to start a dumb little project based on your most recent hyperfixation than mere weeks before university starts again? haha, what-
anyway. i woke up from a nap in a bleary haze today with the idea of redrawing the tarot major arcana but with weird al songs and what started as a fun doodle has evolved into a dedication in my soul to do more of these. so lets see how many I can finish?? i've already got my song list established (with only a couple of ones im still undecided on) so im ready and rearing to go
the fool was an easy pick. while al is always a fool, dare to be stupid is THE fool song imo. spontaneity, recklessness, risk-taking. being a silly billy

All arc long, we have seen Gray Wing not be treated like the real father of the kits he raises.
Five books, and we're now on the sixth and last of this rancid arc.
He is not referred to as Thunder's father outside of the closing line of Book 1 when Clear Sky abandons him, CLEAR SKY is, even ENCOURAGING Thunder to go connect to "HIS FATHER" in Book 2. Even if he was, he's a TERRIBLE parental figure. His constant enabling of his shitty brother winds up driving Thunder into a place where he is abused, and subsequently a near murder at the First Battle which Clear Sky causes. Even post-"redemption arc," after Clear Sky slips back into emotionally abusing his son, just like before, and Thunder leaves him for a THIRD time, Gray Wing screeches at Thunder to "STOP SULKING" and fetch the man who has maliciously attempted to hurt him at every opportunity.
Gray Wing is also not treated as the real dad of Turtle Tail's kits. As soon as he spills the beans to a domestic abuser on where his kids can be found, Tom the Wifebeater kidnaps his children and tells him he's their dad in Book 3. This gets their mother killed in the process, and from then on, TOM is treated as the father they're desperate to know and avenge. Sparrow Fur even laments about how he's their father so if the Clan doesn't like him, they don't like her either.
In Book 4, after Tom the Wifebeater gets his redemption death saving his daughter from a mauling Clear Sky allowed to happen, Gray Wing even says to Owl Eyes, point blank, "I'm not your father, am I?"
Owl Eyes has to DANCE around outright telling him that, no, he is not on the same level. Then he learns of Tom the Wifebeater's death and is so upset he cannot visit what might be his sister's death bed. Even though he only met Tom once during a kidnapping.
Gray Wing was not treated as their dad. He is seen as less than a father by all the characters, AND the narrative, even for the kids he raised from birth.
The only one of these four children that he seems to have a positive relationship with and is described properly is Pebble Heart.
But now, after pissing away 5 books of setup, because they're going to kill this character off soon, they start wanting to collect on what they didn't establish. On what they downplayed for drama and angst.
His fridge wife comforts him in a dream about how he's the perfect boy and Everyone Loves Him.
It doesn't matter that Gray Wing was functionally a terrible parent who's put Thunder in danger by encouraging (and even forcing) a connection to Clear Sky, or that he's been shown as having what I can only describe as "unrequited parental love" for these kits, or that "blood" and biological parents have been exalted for FIVE. BOOKS.
People will read this LAST book, Path of Stars, and conclude DOTC has great messages about adoption. That death scene is just soo good it's going to flush the rest of the arc down the drain, I guess.

one of the pieces of anakin's fall that everyone always misses is his use of the clones. anakin skywalker, who at 9 wanted to become a jedi. who was so haunted by guilt that he left his mother a slave. who violated the jedi code because he couldnt bear to spend another night not knowing his mother was safe. that anakin. that anakin was ok leading the clones to war. the clones who were made for this, made to work and toil and die without end, so the natborns could live peacefully.
i think if anakin wasnt reeling from the death of his mother and hadnt started slipping to the dark side already he wouldn't have agreed with the use of the clones. i think he would see himself in them - forever scorned, subhuman for the circumstances of their birth, desperately trying to rise above the fact that everyone they've ever met only has an interest in leashing them. so anakin being a general and agreeing to lead the clones is much more sinister than it seems at first blush.
the jedi order agreeing to lead the clones is its own egregious violation of the jedi code. theyre peacekeepers, not generals. they fight individually or in pairs, not in coordinated attacks (see geonosis). everything about them is not meant for violence, but for protection. but for the jedi to lead the clones to be anakin - it's even worse. the jedi know slavery is bad, but they do not expend resources trying to end it - for political reasons ofc, they themselves are at the whims of the republic - but anakin has Lived it. he is more like the clones than any other jedi, which makes his leading them all the more painful and heartwrenching and sick
