how i smell and feel like the embodiment of the first pink, heart-shaped dessert or disney princess that comes to mind
Tumblr media Tumblr media
🩰🍫🥄🎀🍼
1. i prefer baths over showers!
i will shower everyday, however i only wash my hair 2-4 times a week, and take baths at night
(herbal essences; bath&body works; mane 'n tail; public goods)
for the hair, i use a rose shampoo for the scalp + this conditioner (only on my tips! and not the shampoo from this brand)
this strawberry poundcake body gel really makes me feel like i'm in one of those strawberry shortcake cartoon films & even makes my bathroom smell that way xo
after rinsing i apply this coconut oil OR almond oil if i don't have coconut oil; this makes my hair really shine
Tumblr media
2. hair treatment
i use a deep conditioning mask once every other week because of the amnt of dmg my hair is recovering from (LITERALLY 7 bleaches in one day 2 achieve platinum silver)
any heat protector & leave-in conditioner works really but i use this brand a lot and have seen results of healthier, longer & luscious hair
(shea moisture; camille rose)
Tumblr media
3. bodyyyy
although the strawberry body gel does MAGIC, my skin gets really dry & the additional sweet scents & moisture from these products are never something i'll ever complain about
(bath&body works; victoria's secret; johnson's)
after bathing or showering, i apply both baby oil and baby powder—which does wonders for irritation—followed by the vanilla lotion, cherry blossom lotion & cupcake fragrance (daytime) or the champagne & lavender lotions (nighttime) for flavõr
Tumblr media
4. going out!
whenever i leave the house, i ALWAYS make sure i wear at least one perfume on top of the cupcake fragrance ++ the lotions and my faves r currently the original/blooming bouquet & mon paris
afterwards i use this adorable "kitten" body glitter from benefit body just so that my body can match my soul & the magical energy it exudes xoxo
(miss dior; YSL; benefit body)

Happy Blooming Shower Jelly
Tumblr media
So I guess I’m on a bit of a Kitchen kick today! I felt inspired reading about the Lush Summit and all the exclusives everyone who’s going will be able to see showcased! It’s really exciting! Spring is also right around the corner, and I cannot wait until there’s no more snow and it starts getting warmer. Something about the first buds on trees just gets me really excited! I figured it would be appropriate to post about Happy Blooming Shower Jelly! This one’s a bright, uplifting scent that will surely bring out the Spring happiness in your shower or bath. It’s a reddish orange in color, and is bouncy and wiggly, just like every other shower jelly. In case you fall in love with the scent like I did, it shares it’s lovely Cherry Almond scent with the Cherry Blossom Reusable Bubble Bar and Happy Blooming Bath Melt!  I managed to snag mine in a really great trade off of Reddit, but there are also a bunch in Facebook groups or Ebay as well! And who knows, maybe they’ll hop into the Kitchen soon enough!
How To: Shower Jellies are just like shower gels or shower creams, except they’re in this fun little cylindrical shape of what can be easily described as Jell-O. They’re a unique way to clean yourself up while having a good time, if that doesn’t sound TOO raunchy! There are a few ways to actually use these little guys. So, the first way to use these, which is a way I definitely can’t bring myself to do, is to blend them in a blender and then to apply them directly to your body. When blending, make sure you add a small amount of water to prevent it from becoming a thick, gelatinous blob of wannabe soup. You could also cut the jelly into cubes, and use one cube at a time in the shower. This is a good way to use jellies that are close to their expiration date, as you can store the extra cubes in an airtight ziplock bag in the freezer. You can do what I did up until now, which is break off small pieces of your jelly in the shower every time you want to use it, and rub it either directly on you, or into a loofah for a rich, delicious smelling lather. The last way, however, is my absolute favorite probably because it’s so fun. You can pop the entire jelly out of the container and rub it all over your body. It’s fun because it just wiggles everywhere! Then, when you’re done, I like to give mine a little rinse and then you just pop it back in the container for next time. I found this to be the most effective when it comes to enjoying the full scent of a jelly.
Scent: The smell is really uplifting like I said earlier, but I think we need to go a bit deeper than that! I’ve been really skimping on the details lately, and I’m sorry about that! When you first smell this unique Cherry Almond shower jelly, you definitely smell the tart, crispness of the cherry enter your nose. It’s not exactly a bad thing, but it’s not something I’m used to smelling. I’ve never been a big fan of cherry flavors, so trying it with my nose was a unique experience to me! If you’re a fan of cherries, definitely give this one a sniff! Keep in mind, it’s a very bold scent that’s more powerful than others I own and or have smelled before. Coconut is also used in this jelly, but I don’t really smell it in or out of the shower, which may be a good thing. I don’t know how Coconut and such a powerful Cherry scent would have worked together.
Vegan: Yes!
Try Outs: I brought this one in the shower with me today to break it in, as it’s kind of been sitting on the shelf for around a month now without use. I know, cruel. So, I decided this would be the first jelly I would try using in full, and so I popped it out of the container with a little struggle, and got ready to....drop? They’re definitely a little hard to get used to holding, since they’re so wobbly and slippery, but one you get the hang of it you’ll be fine! So, I noticed this one lathers a LOT compared to other jellies, which is really impressive. It lathers almost more than a shower gel or cream, which I love! The smell also is really powerful, so if you’re a fan of heavy scents this is the one for you! When my shower was over, I got out and toweled off to see how smooth my skin was. To my shock, it was actually pretty soft! It definitely did its job in the shower.
Ingredients:  Glycerine, Cherry Infusion (Prunus cerasus), Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Propylene Glycol, Coconut Water (cocos nucifera), Carrageenan Extract (Chondrus crispus), Coconut Cream (Cocos nucifera), Perfume, Benzoin Resinoid (Styrax tonkinensis pierre), Ylang Ylang Oil (Cananga odorata), Colour 17200, Colour 73360, Methylparaben, Propylparaben.
This jelly is really moisturizing because of the Carrageenan Extract that’s derived from Seaweed, as well as the Coconut Cream and Coconut Water. These ingredients allow this jelly to smooth and soften your skin almost as well as a Shower Smoothie, which is an amazing quality for a jelly! The Ylang Ylang Oil definitely adds that sultry, sexy scent to the list of awesome qualities this one has!
Rating: Overall, I found Happy Blooming to be a really interesting, fun jelly. The lather was very impressive, as well as the overall moisture it gave my skin when it was all said and done. However, the only complaint I have about this jelly is the scent. It’s a very powerful cherry, which some people may like, but for myself I just don’t want to go out of my way to smell like a cherry field. I also wish that I smelt the Almond and Coconut, since they are lovely ingredients that just seemed to be taken over by the cherries. I think overall, if you’re a fan of cherries you can definitely put this one on your Lush bucket list! However, if cherries aren’t your thing, either give this one a try if you dare or definitely try something a little more subtle! I would give this one a 7 out of 10.

The genius ways you can use honey in your beauty regime for better hair, skin and nails

The genius ways you can use honey in your beauty regime for better hair, skin and nails
More than just a sweet topping for your porridge, honey has a plethora of beauty-boosting benefits.
The sweet and sticky pantry staple has major anti-bacterial and anti-fungal benefits and is one of the most hydrating substances on the planet (who knew?).
Just like lemon, it can be used to fade blemishes and even lighten hair.
We’ve rounded up all the brilliant ways you can use honey in your beauty regime. Are you buzzing? ‘Cause we are.
For better lips: DIY sweet lip balm
Honey works wonders to soothe dry skin and chapped lips. Along with beeswax, it is often an ingredient in balms and lotions. Mix one tablespoon of honey with three tablespoons of beeswax, and three to five tablespoons of oil (it can be almond, lavender, jojoba, or even sunflower) to achieve the preferred consistency of your balm. And remember, you’re putting this on your skin, so make sure you buy raw honey, preferably organic and local.
Honey, I ain’t got time for that…
Then try: Ultra nourishing lip balm, £9.50, Nuxe Paris; Honey lip balm, £3.99, Burt’s Bees; Vitamin E lip conditioner, £23, Jo Malone
For a better complexion: DIY the Queen Bee of exfoliants
Bacterial build-up can lead to a troubled complexion, which is why exfoliating once to three times a week is ideal for healthy-looking skin. Honey has anti-bacterial properties that will prevent buildup, while its enzymes can naturally clarify and brighten complexion.
Make your own exfoliant by pouring honey onto a plate – the usual amount you’d use of regular exfoliant – and mixing it with sugar – 1/3 of the amount of honey you’ve used. Apply the mixture onto your skin with circular movements; leave it for an extra 5-10 minutes as a mask and rinse.
Honey, I ain’t got time for that…
Then try: Honey and camelina facial exfoliator, £10.50, Bee Good; Almond and honey face scrub, £13, Mario Badescu
For better skin: DIY hydro-boosting moisturiser
Honey is a natural humectant, meaning it easily retains water by drawing moisture from the air. Make your own hydro-boosting moisturiser, by simply applying raw honey as a face or body mask and letting it sit for 15 to 20 minutes.
Honey, I ain’t got time for that…
Then try: Skin renewing cream with Manuka honey, £49, Kiehl’s at Feel Unique; Milk and honey body lotion, £10.99, Burt’s Bees
For better hair: DIY natural balayage
Just like lemon, the enzymes of honey can clarify and brighten the complexion – and also hair! The effect is super natural and works best on light-haired ladies, but it does get results on darker hair, too – if you’re patient.
If you’re going for a shade blonder, choose yellow-coloured honey and mix with 2 tablespoons of lemon. If you’re looking for caramel or red undertones, choose amber-like honey and mix with a good 2 spoons of cinnamon. Apply onto hair and leave it throughout the night (shower cap on, of course). The process may need to be repeated if you have dark hair.
Honey, I ain’t got time for that…
Then try: Sun lightening spray with chamomile and honey, £15, Klorane (available in the UK in shampoo and conditioner formulas)
For better hair: DIY scented cleanser
The moisturising effects that honey has on your skin can be beneficial for your hair as well – especially for dry ends. The moisture-rich properties of honey will restore smoothness and for fans of organic beauty products, this is your ultimate shampoo. Dissolve two tablespoons of honey in a cup of warm water and apply to the scalp and work through your hair in circular movements; let it rest as a mask for at least 10 minutes, and rinse. The gorgeous smell is just a perk.
Honey, I ain’t got time for that…
Then try: Manuka flower honey strengthening shampoo, £7.29, Palmer’s at Superdrug; Honey and hibiscus hair reconstructing shampoo, £26, John Masters Organics at FeelUnique; Gentle volumising honey shampoo, £20, Leonor Greyl at Space NK
For better hands & nails: DIY quick fix-up lotion
By now, you should know this by heart, honey = moisture. So if it’s dry, chapped or dull, put honey on it. That goes for your nails and hands as well. The same DIY mask you’ve used for dry skin can be mixed with a little coconut oil and used on cuticles and hands – perfect for a pre-mani treatment.
Honey, I ain’t got time for that…
Then try: 24K gold and Manuka honey hand oil, £19.99, Manuka Doctor; Hand treatment, £35, Eve Lom at Feel Unique
For better skin: DIY a luxurious bath oil
Detox your skin and your senses by dissolving two tablespoons of honey into a cup of warm water, and pouring onto your bath.
Our little magical condiment is full of antioxidants, making it ideal to detoxify your skin and prevent oxidative stress. Oxidative stress, for those that don’t know, is a major cause of diseases and early ageing – it’s basically when your body is low on antioxidants, which can be found in certain foods.
Honey, I ain’t got time for that…
Then try: Nectarine blossom and honey bath oil, £42, Jo Malone; Ambre vanillé honey bath, £33, Laura Mercier; Indian rose and Himalaya honey bath bubbles, £13.50, Rituals
For a better complexion: DIY spot banisher
The clarifying properties of honey and its antibacterial compounds make it an ideal spot and scar fader. By mixing two tablespoons of honey with one tablespoon of a preferred oil and gently massaging the troubled area, you’ll help your skin to recover – increasing circulation and promoting cell turnover.
Honey, I ain’t got time for that…
Then try: Skin treatment serum, £13.85, Manuka Doctor; Manuka honey gel, £13, Living Nature at Botanical Brands
*Runs to the store to buy honey*
