Surprise Times Two

Who: Harry Lewis

When you had met your husband you had made it painfully obvious that you did not want anything to do with the spotlight he had around himself. Looking back at the past five years of your relationship, you could happily say that you had done an amazing job at keeping your relationship a secret from anyone that didn't need to know. Of course, his parents and siblings knew, along with your parents and siblings, but outside of family and maybe a few close friends in Guernsey, your existence was a mystery to everyone. Some might say that it would be impossible to keep a relationship hidden for that long, especially since Harry had a group of amazing friends that he spent time with almost every week. However, it wasn't hard at all. You resided in Guernsey where Harry resided half of the time. The other half of the time he was filming in London with the boys. Harry came home as often as he could to spend time with you, and truly you didn't mind. You knew there would be a price to pay when you agreed to stay out of the limelight, and sadly this was one of them. It probably would have stayed that way as well if things hadn't grown increasingly more interesting. Although you and Harry were both safe when it came to sex, accidents still happen, and somehow you managed to get pregnant. To say you both were excited would be an understatement. It seemed natural to become parents with where you were in your relationship. Harry was sold when he found out you were pregnant with a little girl, his heart swelling at the idea of having a little girl to call a princess of his own.

You had managed to hide your relationship for two more years before it just felt right to finally introduce yourself and your daughter, Hazel, to the Sidemen. After all, they were basically Harry's brothers and they had already missed out on so much. You had seen how Ethan and his girlfriend Faith had announced their pregnancy and your heart hurt thinking about the support you could have gotten from the group if you had been a little more open with your relationship. But there was no going back now. Only forward. You and Harry had both decided that you would bring Hazel to London to a Sidemen cookout, a small get-together for all the boys and their significant others to celebrate everyone's milestones. Everyone had jokingly teased Harry that he was still invited. Little did they know his wife and daughter would be joining.

That brings you to now, sitting in the front seat of your husband's car as you tapped your fingers against your thigh nervously. Hazel sat in the backseat happily babbling along with the song, or at least trying to.

"What if they get upset?" You asked after the song had ended and there was a moment of silence. It was a thought weighing on your mind ever since you and Harry had agreed on going to the cookout. Harry peeked over at you quickly, furrowing his brows and shaking his head.

"Why would they get mad?" He asked. You simply huffed at the question and your mind raced with a million thoughts. In your mind, you had already listed a million reasons why they would be upset. Not really with Harry, but more so with you or god forbid your daughter. You pulled your mirror down and looked back at Hazel through the mirror, smiling at the reflection. You could see her blonde curled pigtails bobbing as she hummed along with the songs harry had queued for her.

"We hid this, us, from them for so long. They know nothing about us. I don't know, a lot of things Harry." You said softly, not wanting to startle your daughter with raised voices. Harry simply hummed in response, and you sighed, leaning back in your seat. There was no use arguing about it knowing that there was no turning back. A few fans had seen Harry at the airport and asked for pictures. No doubt the lads would be asking why Harry was at the airport right before the cookout if you didn't turn up.

It was quite a long trip to get to where the cookout was taking place. Faith and Ethan's new place, and made you feel slightly more out of place. Stepping somewhere you were not invited. However, with every worry, you brought up Harry assured you that everything would be fine and that everyone would welcome you with open arms. Harry parked beside someone else's car and assured you one last time that everything would be fine before climbing out of his car. Taking a deep breath, you followed in his footsteps and quickly moved to open the backdoor as well to pull hazel out of her car seat where she had fallen asleep a good fifteen minutes into the drive. She whined as you held her on your hip, rubbing her eyes with her chubby hands. All you could do was quietly hush her and kiss her forehead as you smoothed her, now messy, pigtails out.

across the lawn, you laid eyes on the group. everyone was laughing and chatting amongst the group, oblivious to the small family that had just arrived. that is until Harry called out to the group. everyone turned to greet the boy, opening with teases about him being lonely, only to stop at the sight of harry with you at his side and your daughter.

"Here." Harry started, taking your daughter from your arms and into his own before he picked up his speed. "Lads! I have a few people I would like you to meet!" Harry said once he got closer to his group of friends. Once you had caught up to Harry you smiled softly at his friends and waved. "Boys and girls, this is my wife, Y/n, and my daughter Hazel." He said a big grin on his face. There was a moment of silence where everyone was processing what was being said but everyone quickly warmed up.

"You're being serious?" Simon asked quickly, asking what everyone was thinking. Harry and you both looked at each other and smiled and you nodded, singling that it was fine to explain the entire situation. So he did. Harry went on about how for your entire relationship, it was kept a secret, as was your daughter. To keep everyone safe, especially your two-year-old.

"It was truly nothing against you guys, I promise. I just- I saw how harmful it could be and it was scary. I didn't want it to ruin something for Harry and me, and then when I was pregnant. I just- I wanted Hazel to be safe." You explained truthfully after Harry had explained the basics. Everyone quickly shook off your fears and made sure you felt welcome. Welcoming you into the Sidemen family with open arms. Almost as if you had been a part of the group the entire time. Everyone was excited to meet your daughter, and surprisingly your daughter was more than excited to have more aunties and uncles to play with. Talia and Faith are the most excited to have a little girl to experience. The experience made you feel slightly foolish for hiding your relationship for so long. But nonetheless, you still felt like you had gained a whole new set of friends and family!
