Been watching Schitt’s Creek the past few days and I gotta say it is nice to see that David, who is a stereotypical gay guy, is explicitly pansexual and that Patrick, who’s more masculine, is gay

Saul of the Mole Men #2: “Blood Is Thicker than Walter” | February 19, 2007 - 12:00AM | S01E02
Goddamnit, I just straight up do NOT want to talk about this. I watched it on my lunch break so I could knock out an “easy” write-up later in the evening. I guess this could be easy. But this show… it is torturous. Just bad stuff all around, except for a few bits here and there. And even then! I hate thinking about this shit!
So, in this one, the king (whom Saul stabbed in the head with an antenna) is now in the hospital. He will survive his injuries, but only if the antenna is not removed, staying lodged in his brain indefinitely. Meanwhile, Saul decides to knock out and saw off the hide of one of the Mole Men so he can pretend to be one and infiltrate them. He steals the skin from a guy named Walter and is immediately corralled into his terrible job and a terrible marriage and beaten to a pulp by some Mole Men that he owed money to.
When Saul lands in the hospital he takes the chance to try and pull the antenna out of the king’s head at the urging of one of his son’s who is next in line to succeed him. He’s been plotting his father’s demise. Saul can’t get the antenna out, but drags the king out of bed to try and attach it to a radio and contact Strata headquarters. Saul gets caught absconding with the king. Also, there’s an explosion at the end. I forget why. There’s also a song by Johnny Tambourine, which isn’t that good! But this part yields the only good line in the show, when Saul calls his music like “corn ball pap” and voices his preference for Doo-wop.
The show continues to make it’s main joke that stuff is crappy and scenes go on too long. It’s not as fun for us to watch as they think it is. It is just nasty. You really could edit these puppies down to like 5 minutes each and not feel like you’re missing anything. So much of the show is pointless, and a lot of that is “the joke”, but this show is just the product of people lying to themselves that what they are doing is good, or fun to watch, or “for stoners”. It’s unbearable.
Okay, I’ll trash Jonah Ray. Jonah Ray’s name is in the credits of this, and I believe he only plays the BODY of certain Mole Men. Back when this is on we both posted on a message board and he’d occasionally plug various projects, like his Super Deluxe series “The Freeloader’s Guide to Easy Living” and “Jonah Ray’s Bar-B-Quay”. Jonah Ray’s whole vibe was “unremarkable hipster”, back when the word “hipster” was only a derisive way to explain about a dude you knew that sucked. Now it is a word moms use to describe any young person who wears glasses.
Jonah Ray sorta sucked. His humor was fairly basic and rooted in being a party dude. He just wanted to let everyone know that he has sex. I saw him do stand-up once and his big bit was that he did a crowd work thing where he shot down suggestions on the best way to kill a zombie. The punchline was just regurgitating a thing that was in some book about zombies. The guy who yelled out his answer mentioned the book, and Jonah confirmed it as if it was all part of the plan: to steal comedy bits from a book to do crowd work. Some of the most profoundly terrible stand-up I have ever heard. But he made a career out of being a guy who’s good to party with and talk about cool music with, and levied it into trying to be cute on stage and get girls to make out with him.
My point is, this was one of many projects he was involved in that was a real flash-in-the-pan. But he’d promote stuff on this message board we both posted on and people on there would nicely encourage him. I remember him promoting this, despite just being a body on it, and he used the phrase “it goes deeper than you think”. I bailed on the show midway through, and him saying that might’ve been the thing that pushed me off the fence. There was simply no way it could be as good as he claims.
Now he’s literally hosting new seasons of ONE OF MY FAVORITE SHOWS OF ALL TIME: Mystery Science Theater 3000. What the FUCK? You can not IMAGINE how awful I felt when they announced the cast and I saw a guy I legitimately despised was being groomed to be the new Joel. For the record: I DO NOT HATE JONAH RAY ANYMORE, and consider my distaste for him to be shallow and unimportant. He seems like he’s matured and I like him fine now. I should have DM’d him and been like ‘wuzup dude let’s be buds!”. I coulda been the new Crow. Jonah Ray would have been so good to me - he is an expert in being pals with people, probably. But I had to be the snob that I thought he was. As Joel would say, Oh, wow.

Saul of the Mole Men (Pilot - 2005)
Hey! Look! The Saul of the Mole Men pilot has been sitting there on Vimeo for a fucking decade! How about that! It’s appropriate to add to this post because the pilot originally had the conceit that we were watching episode two of this series. You’ll recognize bits and pieces that were reused later on, maybe. Or, maybe you won’t actually watch it. You shouldn’t! It’s not that good!
MAIL BAG
I liked Wanderlust but looking back at it most of the gags on the show are just as awful and broad as anything on the Man Show. I think a lot of the charm came from Gardner himself who would just be funny playing the character. A key example is thinking it was funny how he sat next to an Oscar Wilde statue in the Ireland episode but then the gag being him falling to some shitty stock sound effects spoiling the moment. Saul being more scripted means he's even more at the mercy of the writers. Bad
The charm of The Man Show was women with big old blobs on their chest and Wanderlust is giving us a freaking statue of a DUDE?? what the hell is that
Seeing these two shows back to back as a Cartoon Network fan made me seethe. I'm grown up now and know better, but I really pissed about this. I remember yelling to my friend, "WHY DONT THEY JUST GO ON COMEDY CENTRAL". lmao
lol that rules. I love screaming at stuff and getting pissed off. and drivers. Other drivers on the road. And hitting the steering wheel and getting blood everywhere. I love stuff like that
mattpanreblogsstuff wrties:
Honestly I'm more okay with live-action on Adult Swim, if it fits in line with all the experimental cartoons they air then what's the problem? I can't bring myself to dislike Tim and Eric. Live-action on Cartoon Network proper really did feel like sacrilege though, I'd have to change the channel to Boomerang as a kid when CN Real happened.
CN Real was definitely after my time (or at least I was so dialed in on DVRing shows I liked that I didn’t notice trends like that taking over), but I do remember there being moments where I’d notice a live-action movie on the program guide for Cartoon Network and being like “wait whhuuuuuut?” Nasty! It sorta reminds me of when VH1 started showing like, Married... With Children. Is nothing sacred?
Besides Adult Swim (and Cartoon Network) what are your Top 5 Television Channels of all time
Oh, now this is nice. Here’s the five that come to mind, not ranked:
Comedy Central: MST3K, KITH, South Park, UCB, SWC, so many formative comedy favorites, YOW)
USA Network: good place for sleazy programming and tacky 90s shit)
MTV: Weird combo of genuinely ground-breaking/risk-taking programming and terrible trend-chasing bullshit. People tend to focus on the later and wear hating MTV as a badge of pride. But man, it’s all worth it for Beavis and Butt-head.
Fox: The only network with bite. OUCH! (NO TWITTER THREAD SORRY I WAS PLANNING ONE BUT NEVER DID IT)
Nick: Oh yeah, lotta good childhood memories on this one, and some shows that are genuinely great and stand the test of time. It was also a very important source for original Looney Tunes, and I LOVED Nick @ Nite as a kid (which I’m lumping in with Nick). Nick Junior though can go to hell. Disgusting. I’m a grown man. Fuck off with that shit.

Review #38: The Light in the Forest
Post #42
8/4/2020
Next up is 1958′s The Light in the Forest
Tumblr media
Enjoyment : [1]
Watching this movie feels like pissing blood. Watching it actively gave me a throbbing headache I was so furious with it. There is almost nothing enjoyable about this garbage and I actively think lesser of people who defend it. The issue is that the entire premise of the movie is racist and hateful so you can never get on board with the story unless you are also racist and hateful. The story is about a boy named True Son who was adopted by a tribe of Native Americans. Due to a treaty he is forced to return to his biological family where is then tortured and brainwashed until he finally acts ‘white enough’ for their approval. Even if True Son is ethnically white, he was raised by a loving Native family and this movie acts like none of that matters. From the first frame the moral of this movie is “The Races don’t mix, stay with your own kind” and it boils my brain to try and think why Disney thought this was ok.
Quality : [1]
The filmmaking is fine. Camera, lighting, sets, costumes, it probably would have gotten a 4 if the plot was anything other than the shit show it turned out to be. Because the writing is so unbelievably hateful this movie gets a 1. The reason this devalues the quality of the movie as a whole, is that the way scenes are structured is now fundamentally flawed. The writing tries to frame the racist white cultists as villains, but then also does nothing to refute them. The racist villains say something racist, True Son looks sad, and the film moves on like there is nothing else to be said. You can’t possibly write likable character when they are just awful from start to finish. Besides some musical stings, there is nothing behind the camera to display that these racists are wrong, if anything I think the framing supports their arguments and it ends up ruining everything.
Hold up : [0]
The second ever 0 given on this blog, and boy does this movie deserve it. I have already gone over how hateful the core premise is. A ‘respectable white family’ tries to ‘tame a savage native’ because ‘this is where he belongs!’ It is lazy, stupid and spiteful writing. However, what makes this movie truly awful is the ‘both sides!’ angle it tries to push and utterly fails at. The opening scene has the Native chieftain arguing with a British general. The Chieftain says that the British troops have been raping and killing men, women and children that were not part of any war party, to which the general snaps “Yeah but they only killed the civilians because they were scared of facing your savage warriors.” and then they just moves on like that was a fair answer to those accusations. You cannot compare the violence the Natives committed against the Pioneers to the violence the Pioneers committed against the Natives. One side was an invading army and the other was made up of civilians defending their home. Whenever a scene tries to ‘both-sides’ the argument it just sounds like “Why do the people we keep killing say they don’t want us to kill them? That’s so rude of them!” Fuck off movie this is pathetic and you know it. This movie is also truly horrible in its depiction of adoptive families. Despite the fact that True Sons Native family knew him most of his life and provided nothing but stability, the movie frames his racist, abusive biological family as his ‘true family’ since being related by blood trumps everything else. Like honestly fuck that, adopted families ARE real families regardless of race.  On a final absurd note, as if this movie couldn’t get any worse, the final conflict revolves around True Son fighting his uncle, who has been shown to not only be a racist murderer, but also an attempted rapist. And yet, True Son explicitly states he is going to fight his Uncle not because he is evil, but because “he wants to prove his is a white man and wants to earn his respect.” Yeah I am sure the respect of a monster like that is really that important to True Son. Go rot in hell Disney.
Risk : [2]
This movie is once again drenched in the sloppy discharge of American Exceptionalism and Manifest Destiny. I have already gone into detail about how horrible the ‘both-sides’ argument is since it paints the past as an inevitable conflict where the genocide of the Natives was just an unfortunate side effect. The only reason this movie doesn’t get a lower score in terms of risk, is that there WAS actually some attempt to humanize the Natives. They are shown to have complex inner lives and for the most part True Son remains steadfast in his refusal to give up his upbringing. He still ends up ‘turning white’ by the end but his determination made him the only likable character. Even though it was handled poorly, this movie actually acknowledged the existence of the Native genocide rather than painting over it like Westward Ho, The Wagons! did.
Extra Credit : [2]
There was one scene that actually was fun to watch. After True Son has been pushed around by his awful family for most of the movie, he is reunited with one of his Native cousins and it is genuinely joyful. The two wrestle and run around laughing, just happy to be in each others company. It made me smile and I hate that it didn’t lead into True Son going home to be with the family that actually loves him. If this movie had the balls to pick a side, this could have been a really wonderful moment, but spoilers: It wasn’t.
Final thoughts:
This is easily the worst movie on this list so far. Worse than the true life documentaries and worse than Peter Pan. It has been a long time since I sat through a movie that I could describe as ‘genuinely hateful.’ You get the feeling that the people who made this movie actually hated Native Americans and set out to intentionally demonize another race. I didn’t even get around to talking about the bland love interest who ‘fixes’ True Son with love because as we all know the best way to cure racism is good old fashioned heterosexual marriage. The best way to sum up this movie is with this simple fact. The main characters name is True Son, but his biological parents want to call him “Johnny” The scene were he meets his biological mother for the first time, instead of hugging, or getting to know each other, the mother simply says. “Your name is Johnny, you won’t leave this room until you say your name and act like a civilized gentleman.” Her concerns are not about True Sons mental wellbeing or safety, she just wants him to act ‘white’ so SHE is comfortable. There is ZERO love between them and yet the movie frames this like a heartfelt reunion between long lost family. After this scene, no one calls him True Son anymore, not even his love interest. They all call him Johnny and it has the same vibe as a someone getting dead-named over and over until they finally submit. I hate this movie and what is worse, I don’t think this will be the worst movie I’ll watch by the end of this project. God help me, this movie took years off my life. If I have to watch something this bad again I will dig up Walt myself and beat his zombie ass senseless.
Total Score: 6/50
<- First <- Previous 38 out of 431 Next ->
the list
Edit: I would like to make a minor note about this movie. It is implied through dialogue that True Son was not adopted by kidnapped by the Native Americans. Which does make his biological families desire to bring him home understandable... HOWEVER: The way the movie is shot and written, it is clear that True Son is happy and treated as an equal while in the tribe, and he is emotionally abused the moment he is brought into the white town.  While he was not adopted in the text of the movie, it is clear that the movie frames and interprets True Son as an adopted child being ‘saved’ by his biological family. Either way Disney did a crappy job with this movie.

love this director's cut idea! ⭐for any section you want to talk about!
I decided to do a director’s commentary on “The Things We Don’t Speak Aloud” because I have a lot of thoughts about Marcy and Clint Brewer. Below the cut for length:
Ask me for a director’s commentary of one of my fics or a section of a fic
Marcy looked around at the motel room she’d just stepped into while Clint muscled his suitcase over the threshold and closed the door. The decorations were… unique, that was probably the kindest thing she could say about them. Hopelessly out of date to be sure, but perhaps people liked the kitsch, she thought charitably. Perhaps that was why nothing appeared to have been updated in decades. She lifted her small suitcase onto the bed and went to unzip it, her mind already focusing on how she wanted to arrange her things in the drawers.
“Are we going to talk about what just happened?” Clint asked, making no similar moves toward unpacking.
She felt a spike of anxiety go through her, making her palms sweat. “Clint, until we know for sure what they were talking about, I don’t know if it’s fair to—”
So I super identify with the Brewer family and their apparent willingness to avoid difficult subjects. I was raised the same way, unfortunately. It was an open secret that my uncle was gay, and despite supporting him (somewhat; my mom’s attitudes on homosexuality were ok but not great), my mother never spoke to him about it. Ever. For 50 years. So I understand how Patrick could go more than a year without telling his parents about being gay / about David. And I figure he probably learned that avoidance from his parents.
“It seemed pretty clear what they were talking about, Marcy,” Clint said. “He literally said, ‘a business relationship and a romantic relationship.’ What else could he have meant?”
She dropped the sweater she’d been refolding and met her husband’s eyes. “So Patrick and… and David…”
“I guess so.”
“But if they’re a couple, why wouldn’t Patrick say anything? We aren’t homophobic.” She picked up the sweater again. “Maybe David’s father is confused. Or jumping to conclusions because they spend a lot of time together working at the store.”
Clint squinted at her. “He lives here and probably sees his son all the time. I don’t think he would have said it that way if they weren’t a couple.”
“But Patrick dated Rachel for years!” She paused, thinking it through while she went over and put the sweater in one of the dresser drawers. “I guess he could be bisexual.”
Bisexual erasure, particularly for men, is real. I think about it a lot more now that my own son identifies as bi. So I struggle when I write scenes like this because, on the one hand, no, Patrick doesn’t seem to be bi. We can assume that since David says he’s gay in MTP, that’s probably how Patrick himself identifies, and it’s consistent with him saying he didn’t know before David what right was supposed to feel like. But he could be bi/pan, as far as his parents know at this point, and I don’t want it to seem like I as the author wouldn’t consider that if I had only the info the Brewers have. But also, I figure the Brewers would assume he was gay because that seems more in-line with who they are. And it happens to be true. So I did give Marcy the thought here that, ok, maybe he’s bi. And then had Clint say, maybe, but also he did break up with Rachel a lot and run away. I wrote it similarly in My Heartbeat Shows the Fear.
“That’s possible. Or it’s possible that he was trying very hard not to be gay, and that’s why ultimately things didn’t work out with Rachel. It would explain a lot. They way they kept breaking up. The way he ran away to start a new life somewhere else.” He sat down on the bed.
Marcy shook her head, a hand coming up to her mouth to hold in… she didn’t know what. “No, that’s… surely he would have talked to us if he was feeling that way. And he was happy with Rachel for a long time.”
“Was he?”
Marcy began unpacking more quickly, needing to accomplish a task, needing to move. “Yes, of course he was happy.”
“Not happy enough, though. Maybe he’s happier with David.”
She slumped her shoulders, suddenly exhausted. They’d gotten up before dawn to make this drive and the long hours on the road were taking their toll. “Should we maybe take a nap?”
Marcy does not want to talk about this anymore. Using sleep to avoid things is another thing I do.
Her husband nodded, recognizing the request for what it was — a plea not to talk about this anymore. “Good idea. I don’t think I’m going to be able to stay awake for a party if I don’t have a little rest.”
She put her suitcase aside and took off her shoes and stretched out next to her husband on top of the bedspread. Clint reached out for her hand, and she squeezed his fingers in return.
Marcy thought about the conversations she’d had with David on the phone. The way he talked about the store and the way he talked about Patrick. The way he talked about how smart Patrick was about the business. It hadn’t escaped her notice the way David spoke — the cadence and timbre of his voice, the uptilt of it on certain phrases, his encyclopedic knowledge of skin care products — yes, she’d assumed David was gay when she bothered to think about it at all. She’d mostly just thought that David seemed nice, based on his unfailing politeness with her.
Another tough one, because David isn’t gay, he’s pan. But most people probably assume he’s gay, based on stereotypes, and I figured Marcy would too.
Meanwhile, she’d gotten used to a certain amount of distance from her son. He’d barely spoken to them at all for the first couple of months after he left town, other than to say he was safe and that he needed a fresh start. Then came news of the business he was starting with David, and Patrick had begun to sound excited on the phone, talking about David’s vision for the store. He’d had a lot to say about what a good idea it was that David had, and how skilled he was with vendors and customers. She began to sift her memory of those glowing compliments through this new filter, where maybe her son had romantic feelings for his business partner. It made a certain kind of sense, now that she thought about it. It explained why any mention of Rachel caused him to shut down.
I do like imagining Patrick being unable to keep from bringing the topic of David up, even though he couldn’t bring himself to say they were a couple. Maybe hoping his parents guessed.
It perhaps explained, she realized with a sick feeling in her stomach, why any time she asked if he was dating anyone, he denied it and quickly changed the subject.
She didn’t think she’d be able to sleep, but Marcy did doze off briefly. She awoke after about a half hour to Clint puttering around with the tea kettle. Sitting up, she put her feet on the floor, her stomach still queasy with anxiety.
“So why didn’t he want to tell us?”
“Maybe… maybe they aren’t telling other people at all?” Clint posited.
“Mr. Rose knows. That weird Roland person knows. Both of them assumed we knew!” Then it hit her. “David assumed we knew. Right? If they’re out to people here, and he invited us to Patrick’s party…” She thought again about how warm David always was with her on the phone, taking time out of his day to ask after her health or make small talk with her when she called the store. The way he spoke about Patrick, which she never questioned because of course they knew each other well — they ran a business together. “What do we do now?”
Clint’s eyes widened. “I have no idea.”
There was a knock on the door.
Marcy went over and opened it, revealing Johnny Rose’s worried face and expressive eyebrows on the other side.
“Hi, Marcy. Mind if I come in to chat?”
“Johnny… yes, of course,” she said, widening the opening to admit him.
So this was the seed idea of this fic. In canon, David gets there first and Johnny shortly thereafter. I thought it would be interesting to switch it and see what happened.
He clasped his hands together, eyes darting around the room. “I wanted to apologize to you both for speaking out of turn earlier. And saying… things that I assumed you… but it seems I was, er, that is, that I jumped to conclusions about…”
I enjoy writing Johnny when he’s flustered.
Marcy tried to rescue him. “You assumed we knew that Patrick and David are dating.”
Johnny cleared his throat. “Yes. And I just wanted to say, as a parent myself, that the important thing is that they’re happy. That’s all that matters. Who our kids love doesn’t matter.”
I figured he’d say essentially the same thing he did in canon here. That the important thing was that their kids were happy.
“Johnny, we don’t have a problem with Patrick being gay.” She looked over at Clint, who shook his head.
“No,” he said in agreement.
Johnny’s whole demeanor changed, his shoulders dropping as he smiled with relief. “Oh! Good, that’s good!”
They all smiled at each other for a second, unsure what to say next.
“Yes, anyway, we love Patrick,” Johnny said, rocking on his heels. “I probably should have said earlier, I was only skeptical about him and David at first. It’s been obvious for a while that they’re good for each other. Patrick’s become like a member of the family.”
I wish we had gotten to see Johnny’s skepticism about juggling a romantic and a business relationship on the show. That does seem in-character for him, and I would have liked to have seen him trying to talk to David about it, about guarding his heart and his parts and his business. I’m sure it would have been a disaster of a conversation but I would have enjoyed it.
“How, um, how long have they been together?” Marcy asked.
“Since not long after the store opened, as I recall.” Johnny said.
Heart pounding, Marcy dropped onto the bed next to where her husband was sitting. “Oh.”
“That’s a long time,” Clint said.
Johnny’s face fell as he probably realized that he’d once again delivered cataclysmic news to Patrick’s parents. It wasn’t just that he’d kept his sexual identity and his relationship with David a secret. He’d kept it a secret for over a year.
Ugh, the timeline. In 5x14, David says “two years ago”. But there seems to have only been one Christmas since they started dating. So I just figure David was severely rounding up when he said 2 years and that it’s really been more like a year and a half at that point, idk. Jeremy Bearimy.
“You know, it can be a hard thing for kids to talk about with their parents,” Johnny said. “Goodness knows David and I haven’t always talked about what was going on in his life.”
Marcy latched onto that. Perhaps she had an expert here, someone who’d been through what they were going through. “Was it hard for David to come out to you and your wife?”
Johnny pulled over one of the chairs and sat down. “Well, it was different with David. Moira assumed he was gay from a fairly young age.” He threw up his hands. “I wasn’t sure, myself, but I figured he’d tell us when he was ready. Then when he was eighteen, he told us he was bisexual. Then later, he amended it to ‘pansexual’.” Marcy looked at Clint and saw that he looked just as confused as she felt. “The labels can be confusing,” Johnny continued, “and I know I said some things I shouldn’t have, at first. Asked him if it wouldn’t be easier if he picked a gender. Which I realize wasn’t… helpful. Or fair of me. I just wanted him to be happy. And he is now! So.” He shrugged, laughing awkwardly.
I tend to just go with the fanon that when David came out as pansexual to his parents, it was probably a surprise to them that he wasn’t gay.
“But you always knew he wasn’t… straight,” Marcy said, disappointed that the Roses’ experience didn’t really mirror theirs that closely after all.
“Yes, I suppose we did know that. Moira knew, at least. She’s always understood David better than… anyway.” A shadow flitted across his face that looked a lot like guilt. “But I’m not sure it matters when we know. It only matters that we support our kids.”
It’s also fanon that Moira was quicker to support David than Johnny was, but that’s based on the pretty solid evidence of her very firm “It’s not a phase” to Johnny in S1. Not that I think Johnny ever rejected David outright, but he clearly has struggled with David’s identity on some level, based on his convo with Roland in S1.
Marcy nodded. “We do support him, of course we do. Of course we do,” she repeated, a lump rising in her throat. She felt Clint’s hand take hers, and she was afraid to look at him lest she start to cry in earnest.
“The thought that he didn’t think he could talk to us about this,” Clint said.
“When David’s obviously so important to him,” Marcy added.
Johnny looked at them with sympathy, and clearly with no idea what to say.
The shape of their failure as parents was starting to coalesce in her mind. The fact that while they’d never said anything bad about gay people in Patrick’s presence, they’d probably never said anything good either. The fact that ‘girlfriend’ and ‘wife’ were always the words they used when talking to young Patrick about what might happen when he grew up. The way she’d always encouraged him to try to patch things up with Rachel.
So here’s where I struggle with the concept of the Brewers as these lovely, accepting parents, because while I suspect that by 201(whatever year this is in the show), their feelings about queer people are positive, I don’t think they were necessarily that way when Patrick was growing up. I raised my kids with no particular expectations as to the gender of people they might want to date, and I doubt the Brewers were like that. I also think (and I used my own mother as a model for this) that when they talked about tolerance of gay people, it was with an air of “well, it’s not a choice, they can’t help it, so we need to love them.” The thing that communicated to me as a kid was that being gay was gross and icky and on some level, bad. But I’m sure if you’d have asked my mom, she would have patted herself on the back for her acceptance and “tolerance.” But people evolve, and gay marriage has been around now for long enough (especially in Canada) that a lot of minds have changed, and I count the Brewers among that number. They stepped up when they had to, and they were beaming and proud at the wedding. They also could have done things differently and perhaps made Patrick’s journey easier. But then he wouldn’t be with David, so.
“Is Patrick happy?” she asked Johnny, embarrassed that she didn’t know and that this near-stranger likely did. But she had to ask. She was desperate to know.
Johnny hesitated, perhaps realizing what a complicated question that was to ask about anyone. “He certainly seems happy. But you can ask him yourself tonight, right?”
There was another knock at the door.
Marcy opened it to a tall man with dark hair and Johnny Rose’s expressive eyebrows. He was clutching a gift basket to his chest and looking apprehensive. It could only be one person. “David?” she asked.
“Mrs. Brewer, Mr. Brewer, hi. I’m—”
“David!” his father said, standing. “Come on in. The Brewers and I were just having a nice chat.”
David looked even more apprehensive at that as he shuffled into the room, eyeing his father with suspicion. “Why?”
Marcy took the gift basket from David, letting his hurried explanation about its contents drift by without paying it any attention. “David?” She still felt like she was on the verge of tears, even more so now that she was faced with the man that her son had apparently fallen in love with. “Can I give you a hug?”

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald Opinions
If it isn’t obvious already, spoilers for Crimes of Grindelwald ahead. Also I apologize for how longwinded this is. I just started typing and before I knew it, I had a novel. Bare with me.
First off, I would just like to say that I absolutely loved the movie, like LOVED. I don’t think it’s possible for me to watch a movie that takes place in the wizarding world and not love it.
That being said, I had a few issues, minor ones though. I’ve been seeing a lot of reviews floating around where people are complaining about the fact that the entire movie felt like a set up for another sequel, whereas the first one felt like an actual standalone movie, but like, of course it did??? The first one set up the universe this franchise is going to take place in so obviously it’s a full story. The second one is now setting up the overarching plot that’s going to take place over the next four movies so like obviously a lot of it is going to be exposition of characters and isn’t going to conclude the storyline seeing as each movie isn’t taking place one a year like the HP movies did.
If I had one actual complaint, it would be that there was A LOT going on at once. Which like, I get it because there’s so many characters to introduce that are going to be important moving forward. It was just a lot of new characters introduced in a short period of time that needed backstories and explaining all at once. As well as, what, like four separate plots happening all at once that all merged together by the end of the movie? Which like yeah I get it, it was just a lot to follow. I did go on to read the screenplay of the movie that just came out, and it was a bit easier to follow than the actual movie, so I 10/10 would recommend reading that. Especially the scene where they’re in the Lestrange family mausoleum, and maybe it was just me but I found the screenplay a little easier to follow what was going on than the actual movie which is weird?? Maybe the movie will be easier second watch through.
I wasn’t a huge fan of the whole Credence is Leta Lestrange’s long lost brother?? Just kidding no he’s not?? But wait who is he then?? scene because like it was a lot to follow all at once trying to understand who the shit was related and how. Especially considering you’ve got 3 siblings from 3 different sets of parents & then you find out there’s a fourth child that was switched with one of them??? Which again, read the screenplay, it’s easier to follow when you can read full names and go at a slower pace and everything.
As for the plot twist/cliffhanger at the end, I’m very interested to see where that goes moving forward. I’ve seen many people that think Grindelwald was lying to Credence to gain his trust seeing as he was obviously lying in saying Dumbledore wanted him dead. But I don’t really think that’s the case. Solely because I can’t see them doing the whole “Credence is Leta Lestrange’s brother, psych,” thing only to then turn around and then go, “Credence is Albus Dumbledore’s brother, psych,” immediately following. It would just be kind of ridiculous to have Credence’s parentage revealed only for it to be a red herring twice.
I’ve also seen a lot of people trying to explain how it wasn’t possible for Credence to be Dumbledore’s brother. I will also say now that after a minimal amount of googling, it 100% is possible, if he’s his half brother only. In this movie (as confirmed by the screenplay), Credence was born in 1901 and was being transported to America in this year. We know Dumbledore’s mother died in 1899, and was killed by Ariana, therefore he can’t be her son. But it’s unknown what year his father died in, just that it was after 1890 in Azkaban. Now, obviously it’s kind of a weird thought but it’s 100% possible that somehow Dumbledore’s father Percival sired another child after he was imprisoned in Azkaban via another woman and that that child is Credence. How Grindelwald knows about this, I have no idea. Especially considering that not much time passes between FB1 and FB2, and he was in custody at MACUSA between the two movies. As well as how Credence ended up in America and Leta ended up back in Britain I’m not exactly sure. But it is completely possible.
That being said, a bunch of people have pointed out that how is it possible that Dumbledore had another brother that has somehow never been mentioned before now, even though HP takes place after FB obviously. If I had to guess, and it breaks my heart to say this, I’m assuming Credence doesn’t survive the FB franchise because if he died, and Aberforth didn’t know of his existence, then it would make sense why he’s never been mentioned. Dumbledore wasn’t exactly open about Ariana, so it would (plausibly) make sense that Credence was never mentioned. Kinda weird, but still plausible.
One thing I’ve seen EXCESSIVE amounts of complaining about is the McGonagall cameo. Which like, yeah I get it, it breaks canon. But there’s TONS of people that aren’t aware of McGonagall’s backstory seeing as it wasn’t in the HP books, and even if it were, there was a HELL of a lot of information from the books that never made it to the movies (I’m looking at you, Peeves). So like, just let it go and leave it be??? If you’re gonna be nitpicky about canon you could also argue that they made James & Lily way older than they should’ve been in the movies & technically McGonagall would’ve been 46 the night that they died, but in the movies when she’s at the Dursley’s with Dumbledore she looks WAY older than that. So like, just think of the Pottermore information as part of the book universe and the FB movies as part of the movie universe???
Also there was a lot of people I saw that were pissed off that they didn’t make it clear enough that Dumbledore was gay, and that were mad that the story didn’t put enough focus on his feelings toward Grindelwald, which I’m sorry I have to call complete bullshit on. This is only the second instalment of a five movie series and Dumbledore & Grindelwald didn’t even share any scenes together. What did you want?? Dumbledore to cover himself in glitter and strip of his shirt to reveal a tattoo that says I love Gellert???? The Mirror of Erised scene alone couldn’t have made it any clearer that Dumbledore is gay and was in love with Grindelwald. The look of pain on his face alone every time he said he couldn’t make a move against Grindelwald made it VERY CLEAR that there were feelings involved. Also, “we were more than brothers.” What the fuck else could that have meant???? They took a goddamn blood oath that they wouldn’t fight each other. There’s still three movies to go in delving further into their relationship, obviously we’re not going to get the whole story in the second movie. So to all of the people saying it wasn’t clear enough, fuck off.
As far as the movie as a whole, I LOVED IT. Even if it did have too many plot lines happening at once, I still absolutely loved it. The new characters they introduced were fantastic (I’m kind of in love with Theseus). The new creatures they introduced were FANTASTIC. (somebody buy me a kelpie, and also, BABY NIFFLERS!!!!!). Jude Law was an absolutely perfect Dumbledore. Even Johnny Depp as Grindelwald was super unsettling and did a great job. The opening sequence of Grindelwald breaking out of captivity with the Thestral carriage and the final sequence with Grindelwald’s blue magic against everyone else’s fire were phenomenal. And as much as some people didn’t like the ending, I personally love that Credence and Queenie ended up on Grindelwald’s side (and it makes complete sense why to me too) and I’m super excited to see where that goes from here on out. I loved that everyone lost someone in one way or another too. (Newt & Theseus lost Leta, and Jacob & Tina lost Queenie and Nagini lost Credence to Grindelwald) Everyone’s split on different sides and it definitely sets emotional stakes for everybody moving forward.
I loved how merciless Grindelwald was too & how powerful they made him. Like he’s chained up in prison and being transported by like twelve aurors and still manages to escape??? finds a baby in the house he took over??? who gives a shit, kill the baby??? he’s goddamn fighting off like ten fully trained wizards at once in the final sequence of the movie BY HIMSELF and is winning until the IMMORTAL BEING that’s 500+ years old shows up, and we’re only in the second movie of five. The final battle sequence in HP was a conclusion of 8 movies & Voldemort’s struggling to fight against one seventeen year old wizard that never even finished school??? Grindelwald is badass as hell. (also, a villain that vapes projections of the future, what more could u want??)
Also, the nostalgia that hit me like a fucking truck when they first panned over Hogwarts and Hedwig’s theme kicked in???? Also young Newt??? Also Leta Lestrange is sick as hell, and I’m not convinced she’s dead yet.
Basically I’m super into Theseus and Dumbledamn, and I need 2020 to come faster, right now. If anyone wants to scream with me, please shoot me an ask, I need someone to rant to. None of my friends share my excessive HP obsession. Also, I kind of want an entire movie of just Newt taking care of his creatures tbh.
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

underappreciated things about rise 1x10: opening night
i’m going to be crying by the end of this and by now i’ve just accepted that
correction it just started and now i’m crying
i remember turning it on when it first aired and waiting for the previously on and when there weren’t any i was so shook
soon goodbye, now love by tom rosenthal
maashous looking at the picture of him and his mom
vanessa being surprised by the lock on the door
when gail is taking the mazzuchelli family picture everyone’s smiling except for gordy who’s just making a deadpan expression at the camera
everyone insisting that maashous be in it
gordy putting his arm around maashous
vanessa acknowledging that lilette was right
lilette having no idea what to think about philadelphia
“you know what the audience is gonna see?” “....substandard theatre?”
simon is SO SALTY about the petition
“if anyone wants to show up, which you probably shouldn’t. the show’s gonna suck now thanks to everyone that signed that stupid petition.”
he’s clearly not happy that his dad’s going to see it. he feels unsafe with him there and it breaks my heart
gwen refusing to live with her dad
both gwen and simon using the excuse that the show’s going to suck to try and deter their parents from coming to it
tracey’s cool house
tracey calling lou out
lou wanting tracey to be at opening night
“not tonight, lou” tracey i’ve got some bad news
all of the music in this episode makes me cry
i didn’t start tearing up the first time i watched this until i saw robbie’s mom in the car and that’s when i knew that i wasn’t going to make it out of this finale alive
michael and sasha's selfie
the lights on the spring awakening sign being like the ones in all you desire and the ones on the mazzuchellis’ porch
michael finally telling sasha what he thinks she should do
lilette being so excited that mama thorne is there
robbie saying “so everything is back to normal” and sounding so happy about it makes my heart hurt because not only does he not know about lilette moving, he does know that his mom is dying, and that her being out of the hospital for just a day doesn’t change that or make everything normal again. he’s just trying to convince himself that it does.
maashous getting the fuck out of lou’s office when evan shows up
i don’t know why but i find the way that evan describes the beating scene so funny
“the scene where the boy beats the girl with the stick”
jeremy sasha anabelle and francis watching through the office window
lilette’s shocked face when lou says that they’re going back to the original version
sasha’s too
everyone looks so excited when lou says that they can say fuck
simon referencing the desdemona scene as vaguely as he possibly can
lou saying that he might not be invited back to direct next year almost seems like the show saying that it might not be back for a second season and wow here are the tears again folks
the camera has to pan way up when it goes from showing simon’s face to anabelle’s face and it makes me laugh
i never noticed the hair clips that violet is wearing she looks so pretty
lilette being the first to raise her hand because she knows that it will be her last chance to
and then simon not raising his hand at first because he’s terrified of what will happen to him if he does the original scenes but eventually raising his hand anyway
michael and jolene smiling at each other
everyone panicking when mr baer says one hour to curtain
jeremy waving his hand in front of mr baer’s face
this montage makes me emotional as fuck
the fact that the last thing they filmed being them getting ready for their show
robbie listening to music to hype himself up or calm himself down
simon putting on his st. francis jacket
simon and jeremy not making direct eye contact but looking at each other through the mirror
the boys practicing their choreography
idk what cheryl and lexi are doing but it’s cute
the violins in the song starting when it shows the band
maashous finding the suit
“lou! you CANNOT change an entire show one hour before curtain. some of us here have a family history of heart issues -”
this entire exchange between lou michael and the propmaster
“just to clarify, am i committing suicide or just feeling really sad?”
michael is so salty about not having his gun
the propmaster throwing something on the ground in his haste to turn around
michael’s face when the propmaster says that he can just use his finger is fucking gold
michael, ready for death
enough games where the fuck can i buy a stanton high spring awakening shirt
if i were to make those and sell them on redbubble or something would anyone be interested in buying one. this is a legit question i want to know
kaitlin’s smile when she sees maashous
maashous had to look up how tie a tie on youtube
gail straightening the tie
maashous thanking gail for everything
it sounds like maashous is going to say something but then the lights flicker so he has to leave? what was he going to say
“we’ll celebrate tonight after the show!” gail i have some bad news
the propmaster tearing apart the props room
"cough once for suicide, twice for no suicide”
it looks like there’s a stock photo of a kid with a tuba behind the propmaster?
johnny cruz bringing lilette chocolate
all the good luck posters in the hallway
i have no idea whether or not to trust johnny or not and for that reason i dislike him
lou peeking out at the audience
“please let this not suck”
nothing will ever compare to the chills i got the first time i saw lilette stepping out on stage
pta mom nancy being horrified by the revealing dress
mama who bore me transitioning right into the reprise doesn’t make any sense but it sounds cool so i’ll let it slide
the chorus on “hope that it glows”
can the audience hear evan yelling at lou? probably
evan: you could be fired! lou: ask me if i give a fuck
mama who bore me reprise hypes me up so much i love my girls
okay i have to acknowledge the order of this because what the fuck. i get that we didn’t see all of the songs but?? totally fucked before don’t do sadness? i believe after woybr? and i always thought that all you desire was supposed to be somewhere between woybr and those you’ve known but it’s at the end? i don’t understand this
everything about totally fucked
everyone is great in this but i want to give special notice to simon for just. being like that
francis michael lexi and gwen hanging off the scaffolding gives me so much anxiety what if one of them falls
they’re holding on one-handed please be safe kids
the camera just zooming in on the most inappropriate parts
ward’s face when they say fuck
sadie’s lowkey awkward face
so many audience members look so stunned
the saunders family has no idea what the fuck to do
the dream is for the cast of rise to do a full production of spring awakening that i can analyze the shit out of
lou and gail covering sadie’s eyes
some of the audience members just straight up leaving
sadie peeking under her parents’ hands
“we always have allentown” where’s my spinoff that’s just rise in allentown
maashous’s fear when tracey shows up
tracey doing the choreography with the kids
i would die for cheryl
when they did touch me in episode 7 simon and jeremy were on opposite sides of the stage but now they’re standing next to each other and it’s extremely important to me
tracey convincing evan to fuck off
she loves her kids so much
also this is the last scene where we hear maashous speak pour one out for our lighting director everyone
i have to mention clark in his adult man costume again
the fact that lou and simon’s conversation occurs while the scene with moritz and his dad plays out on stage makes the whole thing so much more emotional
simon’s clearly been crying and i hate it
simon thinking that he let lou down
lou telling simon that he’s proud of him
tbh i really like lou and simon’s relationship
tracey helping cheryl with her hair
the contrast between the first time that simon and jeremy performed woybr and the last time
the lighting in this scene is so nice props to maashous
the hand kiss!!!
i wish that we had some more insight into what simon was thinking here. was this a split second decision or did he actually talk to jeremy or anyone about it? i know that there were deleted scenes where he talked to jeremy and he talked to lilette but idk where they were in the episode and i want them more than anything
also i want the full woybr scene
fuck you, nbc
jeremy looks so surprised when simon leans in to kiss him
the way that simon looks at jeremy after the kiss
i’m pretty sure that this is the moment when papa saunders really realizes that his son is gay and that’s the real reason why he leaves
lilette’s face when robbie hugs her during i believe
i love how they do i believe with the rest of the cast blocking wendla and melchior from the audience. idk why i just really like it
also loving how they actually have a river during don’t do sadness/blue wind
the strickland parents looking so proud of gwen
“i should’ve never called you middle-aged.”
i wish that we could have heard more of michael’s part in don’t do sadness
evan: “i could go up there and stop this right now.”
superintendent lewis, crying: “let them finish.”
“she’s pretty amazing, isn’t she?” “yeah, he is.” this is so cheesy i love it so much
jolene as a reformatory boy is the reason why i’m gay
gwen and gordy having a beautiful romantic moment while the reformatory scene plays out in the background
“pretty deep for a dumb football player.”
clark and francis don’t even change their clothes when they become reformatory boys so it just looks like otto and georg have changed their names and become delinquents
lexi as the abortionist
i remember reading that there was a deleted masha scene and i’m so sad that we didn’t get it
i remember that we saw the kiss in a promo but we had no idea who sasha was and i couldn’t tell who it was from the back of her head so i spent a lot of time just trying to figure it out
sasha’s smile after she and michael kiss
and michael’s stunned expression
robbie acknowledging that this might be the last time his mom gets to see him act
“i think you might have changed my life, mr. mazzu.” bitch me too the fuck!!
the graveyard scene with wendla and moritz on either side of the stage
the rest of the troupe looking apprehensive
everyone in the audience just crying
robbie not being able to sing his part
pta nancy looks so upset. me too
mama thorne knows exactly why robbie is crying so hard and i’m so sad
i can’t tell if the choreography calls for wendla and moritz to have their hands on melchior’s shoulders or if lilette and michael are comforting robbie and tbh i really like that?
lou and tracey hugging
as much as i love all you desire i wish we could have seen the whole troupe do purple summer
sasha shoving michael in the background
“don’t go.”
i love how they have hanschen and ernst on one side of the stage and ilse moritz and martha on the other side during all you desire
the camera going to gwen’s parents when she sings “you’re my only desire”
the character development between gordy’s first scene in the series and his last
simon and gwen’s solos (especially simon’s) never fail to give me chills
i feel like that last kiss between melchior and wendla was unscripted and just robbie wanting to kiss lilette one last time
just how meta the whole situation is. the fact that so many people benefited from this show, that they created something beautiful, and then it was unfairly cancelled because of a few louder voices.
it appeases the people they’re hired to appease.
i remember that when carry you started the first time i watched it i was getting hyped for sean and then there was no sean and i was sad
simon watching jeremy sing
the fact that it looks like mr baer is conducting carry you
sasha grabbing michael’s hand
why is francis always climbing the scaffolding
tracey doing the choreography with the kids
cheryl waving at the audience
i can finally reveal that i made a cameo in this episode. i was the one who gave harmony flowers.
the way that jeremy looks at simon when he grabs his hand
simon doesn’t look upset that his dad isn’t there. he looks relieved.
mama saunders is so proud of him
michael smiling at sasha
gwen saying that her dad giving her a bouquet of roses won’t make anything better earlier in the episode and then when her dad actually does give her roses she just looks resigned to it
simon cheering for lilette is so cute
papa thorne being the first one to stand and the fact that it looks like mama thorne asked him to
he looks so proud
everyone is so proud of their kids most of all me
simon and jeremy switch places for the final bow and it’s probably a continuity error but i choose to believe that they did it intentionally so that they could stand with their friends
kaitlin crying when she sees that maashous is gone
the entire rise fandom should get matching maashous was here tattoos
harmony and sasha pulling lou onto the stage
michael jumping up and down when tracey comes out
sasha with her arms around harmony and lexi
jeremy’s hand on francis’s shoulder
these kids love each other so much
i love them so much
the kids are so happy. they have no idea what’s just been taken from them. and honestly, i’m a little glad that if the show had to end, it ended here - in this brief moment of happiness, before it all falls apart.
end scene.

Note
for the 'send me a character' thing - Darry, Evie, Cherry, Mark Jennings and BJ Jackson (if you haven't read all the SE books, don't worry. and tag/send this to changesxnight when you're done cause she loves you)
(wow i wonder who couldve sent this cryptic anon) i love u too britt
Darry
First impressions?
listen,,, i was such a bab when i first read this book,, and i 100% sided w pony and so my first impression of darry was just >:(
Impression now?
if i was to write down my full impression of darry i honestly think i’d give yall like a 50000 word essay in chicago style but suffice it to say that DARRY IS AMAZING and a million percent hes the most selfless person in the whole world and honestly the only NORMAL ONE like y’all can stan soda all u want but he still eats jelly and eggs im not About it
Favorite Moment? im gonna pick three because im an actual trash can,,,
There was an uneasy silence: Who was going to start it? Darry solved the problem. He stepped forward under the circle of light made by the street lamp. For a minute, everything looked unreal, like a scene out of a JD movie or something. Then Darry said, “I’ll take on anyone.”
iconic
“I’ll be okay,” I said wearily. “How come you never worry about Sodapop as much? I don’t see you lecturin’ him.“
“Man,”- Darry grinned and put his arm across Soda’s shoulders - “this is one kid brother I don’t have to worry about."
Soda punched him in the ribs affectionately.
"This kiddo can use his head." Sodapop looked down at me with mock superiority, but Darry went on: "You can see he uses it for one thing - to grow hair on.” He ducked Soda’s swing and took off for the door.
Two-Bit stuck his head in the door just as Darry went flying out of it. Leaping as he went off the steps, Darry turned a somersault in mid-air, hit the ground, and bounced up before Soda could catch him.
ADORABLE
“Darry, do you think they’ll split us up? Put me in a home or something?"
He was silent. "I don’t know, baby. I just don’t know.”
what a Dad™
Idea for a story?
ok so i would die for any story that fleshes out the relationship darry had w his dad like im living for happy, stress-free, younger darry
Unpopular opinion?
i don’t really know that there are any opinions i have about him that would be considered unpopular? r there still people who claim he’s abusive or are they like a cryptid now
Favorite relationship?
darry x happiness
Favorite headcanon?
it’s one of mine it’s that his fave music is swing he is the ultimate Dad™
Evie
First impression?
“what’s evie short for? evelyn? evangeline? e v a n e s c e n c e.”
Impression now?
*banging pots and pans together* AN EVIE NOVEL!!!! EVIE NOVEL!!! BLEASE
Favorite moment?
Did they cry when their boys were arrested, like Evie did when Steve got hauled in, or did they run out on them the way Sylvia did Dallas?
this is the only line in the book where it talks about her doing something? like the only other lines are “we’re going to a game” and “she, along with the other rarely mentioned females in the book, are greasy like us, and the only girls we have a chance with.” so, se hinton, step up ur girl-writing game, it weak
Idea for a story?
i feel like she and sylvia would be rlly interesting together id love to see them like as tag-team scammers
Unpopular opinion?
evie is soft,,,, she is not like wild child sylvia (that’s why i feel like they’d be a good team, like sylvia gets her out on the town, evie stops her from stealing a stop sign or something)
Favorite relationship?
i believe in evie x steve i really do,,
Favorite headcanon?
EVIE PICKS WILDFLOWERS AND DRIES THEM, AND THEY CREEP STEVE OUT HE SAYS ITS LIKE THE ADDAMS FAMILY HOUSE BUT SHE THINKS THEYRE PRETTY
Cherry
First impression?
an actual literal goddess come to Earth, better than we deserve, needs a solo trip to the beach
Impression now?
an actual literal goddess come to Earth, so much better than we will ever deserve, needs 30 solo trips to the beach
Favorite moment?
Dally came striding back with an armful of Cokes. He handed one to each of the girls and sat down beside Cherry. “This might cool you off."
She gave him an incredulous look; and then she threw her Coke in his face. "That might cool you off, greaser. After you wash your mouth and learn to talk and act decent, I might cool off, too.”
i mean how could i pick any other moment,,,
Idea for a story?
literally any story where she isn’t shipped with anyone let her and marcia go on a crosscountry roadtrip where they take pictures at the grand canyon where they’re like “falling off the cliff lol scared u!”
Unpopular opinion?
i’m not sure if this opinion is actually unpopular or not but she was well within her rights to refuse seeing johnny at the hospital?? like i know this is debated a lot but she didnt owe him anything, no matter how much we love him, she doesnt have to
Favorite relationship?
cherry x being true to herself (also a version of bob where he respects that she doesn’t like him drinking around her)
Favorite headcanon?
i honestly haven’t seen that many cherry headcanons? where are they? im just gonna say i totally believe in her as a beach lady
Mark Jennings
First impression?
i loved this boy so much like you dont even understand. the only person in the book i liked more than mark was charlie (im still angry)
Impression now?
*ugly sobbing* hhe wa sjuust truin gto helpp oit brryonss momm,,.,,,
Favorite moment?
“How goes it?” I managed finally. “What’s the action like in here?”
“If I told you how it was in here,” he said, “you’d be sick.” There was a silence. Then, he continued. “I didn’t have to see you. I wanted to, though. I had to make sure.
“Make sure of what?”
“Make sure I hated you.”
Idea for a story?
An entire overhaul of the whole book where he doesn’t end up in jail, full of hate.
Unpopular opinion?
so i’m not 100% on what the general agreement is on mark, but my unpopular opinion is i understand where he was coming from. he was trying to make money for the household that took him in when his life fell apart, and bryon’s minimum wage job wasn’t cutting it, and he knew desperate times call for desperate measures. i don’t agree with it, but i get it, and for the 213537356623465752676th time, bryon could have talked to mark. they were close, and he might’ve been able to influence him, but he didn’t try.
Favorite relationship?
hhhhh i appreciated the mother/son bond between him and bryon’s mom? i can’t remember a lot about the nuances of this book, but whatever.
Favorite headcanon?
i honestly don’t know. im just v sad about him and i want him to grow up to have as normal and happy a life as he can manage when he got out of prison.
BJ Jackson
i know nothing about this “”””bj jackson”””””. sounds like fake news to me.
i’m gonna let @changesxnight weigh in on this one, so sorry my love
THATS IT THANK U FOR REQUESTING BRITT SORRY IT TOOK TEN MILLION YEARS
