I think it’s a good thing that you’re sad. Because it shows that you have a heart. It shows that you can feel and you can love, and you can put your trust in others. See, life’s better with surprises. I mean, some things you want to be prepared for, but you know what I mean.
me when "That's weird. But you know what? It's okay if you get confused. It's okay if you get sad. Because no matter what you experience, we have each other. And I'm always gonna be here for you, okay? 'Cause I'm your dad."
I want there to be more of a conversation around like — if Nathan Fielder is autistic then HBO’s The Rehearsal might be one of the most interesting pieces of cultural production to come out of this community, capturing the inherent anxiety and comedy of masking in a way that I deeply deeply connect to.
BUT if Nathan Fielder is not autistic and his on-screen persona is one that is entirely constructed because it’s silly and awkward and makes people uncomfortable then that would immediately change my relationship to this show and not in a good way.
