so here we are again, i'm breaking up with doctor who again? and i have a lot of asks about why and i have some asks from people ranting at me because they know me well enough to know why these specials would upset me.
i wanna go over why i'm upset a bit, and i'm gonna do it on main because at the end of the day my tumblr career started here.
as a lot of you may be aware, i have been a huge fan of journey's end and of tentoo for over ten years. my god, i have been in the absolute trenches defending that ending for rose and defending the metacrisis doctor for so long that it's honestly part of who i am.
when rtd was announced to be returning as showrunner i was really excited because i thought he was such a brilliant writer who understood the show and his characters. rtd has always been imperfect, but his original run was about life, death, happiness, pain and how you cannot have one without the other. it was about the human experience and the tragedy of the doctor always being on the outside of that. so close but never having it fully.
that's what made it compelling.
now, i was pretty convinced that the fourteenth doctor was going to be tentoo or that something tentoo related was why that face came back. not just because i wanted it but because it made sense. tentoo is half of the metacrisis, he is why donna lost her memories and the toymaker is a villian who messes with universes for fun! all these pieces fit.
it wasn't primarily about rose because i knew billie wouldn't be in the specials, it was about this making the most sense for donna and for the doctor and their relationship.
my biggest issue now is that... fourteen is not ten. the audience seems to be accepting him as such because that's how he was written, but doing so really undercut a lot of what made the tenth doctor my doctor.
fourteen is not ten, he and donna have not seen each other in years - millions for him, fifteen for her - they are different people. or they SHOULD be. and of course he still loves her, of course of course but it doesn't ring true to me for them to barely address how long they've been apart and act like it's s4 again so rtd can give ten a "happy ending."
i don't even know where to start cause it's all so upsetting. listen, i don't like donna getting her memories back and i know that is unpopular but i feel like that tragedy was so well done that reversing it with a wave of the hand is a travesty. but even if donna had kept her memories, fine! show me her family, show me how she has grown and changed in the life without him and show me how she has grown to love herself and is ready to let ten go so he can let go of the guilt of what he had to do to her. why does donna need to have her own doctor?
in russell's book "the writer's tale" he was ADAMANT about donna NEVER getting her memories back. he was proud, as he should have been, of how painfully he ended s4 because tragedy has value.
the key difference between this and journeys end and giving rose her own doctor is that while rose gets a happy ending, it's tinged with pain and with sacrifice for them all. it comes with a price and that makes it all the more precious. ten and tentoo have always been the same guy with different opportunities and how that affects who we become to me. you remove the tragedy from it and the core falls out and it feels soulless.
sure, rose would be happy that the doctor is happy but i'm sorry this is rose's storyline repackaged and handed to donna and done in a way the audience accepts as "real." which is so fucking mindnumbingly unfair and lazy. to take the doomsday, "one adventure i can never have," which is about rose and giving it to donna is so god damn insulting. it's like donna's popularity as a platonic soulmate to ten has completely overpowered the power of nine and ten's relationship with rose, her family and what they represented for him and that doesn't sit right with me and i'm not ashamed to say it.
and it doesn't even work overall because the doctor settled down with river for 24 years already. like... he already had that adventure in various ways! it's like rtd thought he could pick up in 2008.
this is what he originally wanted to do with journeys end and instead of using what he already had and expanding on it, instead of using how tentoo has been thinking of donna for fifteen years too bc he cost her everything, instead of using their metacrisis to have him absorb his mind, instead of using how they are biologically related he makes a THIRD david tennant doctor? it's perplexing. he could have easily brought tentoo over to the main universe and if he REALLY wanted to had donna and her fam move to pete's world and seal them all away for his soft reboot that way.
now we have two timelord doctors in the main dw verse. why? what's gonna happen to him! what about when donna die? does he become the valeyard? what was the point? HOW does this celebrate 60 years?
but my biggest pain of all has been how this neuters ten and the audience perception of him. i love how rude he was. i love how repressed he was. i love his pain and his sillness. i love how he went mad. i love i don't want to go. i LOVE how hard it was for him because it fucking Meant something. like julie gardner said, the doctor is his most compelling when he has to sacrifice something. i love a happy ending, but i worry we are forgetting the value or something ending painfully and just... ending.
tldr; i have more to say but at the moment i feel like my favorite doctor got erased, like they took all the depth from him and made him happier and easier to digest for comforts sake and it sacrificed his arc and that makes me unhappy.

a travesty ive barely posted meta for artagan here when anyone who knows me knows ive written universes about him. so, a bit to ponder on:
something interesting about artagan - and by extension many fae in cr in general - is how thoroughly he's defined by selfishness as the core value of a fae, when we are shown time & again even before artagan gets his redemption arc that that isnt true.
now, arti is selfish. hes the definition of lust, & sloth, & sheer debauchery. he'd rather sit back than help even his favorite little tiefling (at first - more on that later). he would rather abandon his followers to an island that would destroy their memory than attempt to lead them.
but.
he planned for his followers to land on rumblecusp because to him, a fae, losing memories was completely Insignificant - and he literally did some of their paperwork to help them along, and did the work to ensure travelercon left them with each other. he was benevolent enough to vm their first meeting, showing incredible patience despite their disregard for him. he saved vex from drowning. he chose to befriend jester after seeing her be hurt by lord sharpe's son. he comforted jester when he could, when he never needed to. this is all before The Travelercon Kick, before he agreed to help the m9 into the feywild & shift time for them for no price, before he helped jester battle trent/omentis and made sure his spells did not hurt innocent bystanders.
this isnt some garuntee that he, pre-jester, was any saint. but what sticks out to me is how much the trait of selfishness is vastly applied to him. not only does sehanine's angel refer to him as a selfish creature twice, but he refers to himself that way the episode before. it is as if he has endless history with being called that, as if he is the most vile creature by virtue of being an archfey, and he made peace with that, leaned into that until jester walked into his life.
which always leads, in my head, to thinking about the fae of this show in general. they are so vastly blanketed as dangerous. and some are. but the more you analyze it the more you see how it's less integral to their being, and more what they accept they are. if youre seen as a monster, and whimsy is inherent to you, you will play the role to see what happens (i see this in characters like ira immensely). we see the younger generation of fae raised away from these generalizations - fearne & morrighan - break the stereotype near entirely. sure, fearne picks pockets and loves her friends lowkey possessively - but weve seen time & again how thats playful, and gives way to so much selflessness she's falling apart at the seams, only just now telling the party her fears. and morrighan shows no possessiveness at all, being shy & near subservient as a waitress. they are living proof that a fae's worst traits are a matter of nurture.
watching artagan is watching some of his peak fae-court upbringing begin to break down by exposure to a different world. i always recall how both he & ira hiss at the feywild for its contradictions, its rules when it's a land built for free wills - which implies the fae are not let to be themselves, but have their culture shaped by courts so strict they wont even let fae leave to exandria. the worst ideas about them begin to shatter the more cr tells us how fae society has fallen into something like an oil slick into an ocean - literal imagery used by athion & yu. the fae's free existence has been polluted.
artagan was our first example of all of that. and how it's possible to become better.

The Enemy Bites
Tumblr media
A/N: Female reader, vampire AU, with the baseline lore sorted here's uh a piece with actual relationship lmao anyway.
Summary: A mission lands you in a rough spot, in the arms of the enemy specifically. Held at gunpoint you have little options as Gaz and Price are forced to watch as your humanity is slowly drained.
Word count: 2791
Warnings: Canon-typical violence, slight angst
Part 1 AO3 Masterlist
Everyone remained completely frozen. This wasn't how things were supposed to go. You had been working as their handler for close to a year now, most of the time looking after Ghost or Soap. This had been your first real time looking after Price and Gaz in person.
Now caught by the throat, you couldn't feel a little guilty, you were supposed to look after them. Not the other way around. Gaz stood next to Price a few meters aways from you. They didn't dare to make a sudden move.
Price had his hands up, his gun hung off his shoulder to the side while Gaz's was settled on the floor in front of them. Both of them had rather pissed off expressions. With soldiers all around the room, all of you were outnumbered. Perhaps that would have mattered if they were human.
The only thing that stopped the two Brits from moving was the two men behind you. "The famous Captain Price. Should have figured such a renowned soldier was one of us." The man behind you mocked with a laugh. His fingers around your throat flexed a little and your eyes flashed to the man next to him who had a gun pointed at your head.
"But your not one of us are you? Any other true vampire never would have stopped fighting for this thing. A piece of cattle." He hissed and your eyes shut for a second when he squeezed just a little.
"Your men here are human." He gestured to the soldiers around the room.
"Not if they prove themselves. The gift of immortality would be bestowed upon them if worthy."
"Jesus Christ, dealt with a lot of your type in the past. None lived to tell the tale." John seemed tired, sick of dealing with him. "We've long since moved past this thinking."
"Yes and what a travesty it was. To live to these humans rules. Pathetic, they are below us. We should be ruling them. Your weakness for this particular one, disgusts me."
"Humans are a lot stronger than you think, look what happened to the council."
"Your European council was weak! Undeserving. Perhaps you have forgotten what it means to be one of us."
"Amun…" Prices voice trailed off and his eyes locked onto yours for a moment.
"You are not worthy of saying my name!" You gasped when he squeezed tight for a second and Gaz flinched towards you.
"Don't touch her!" Fury in his eyes, he was stopped by Price.
Amun barked out a laugh but his grip loosened. "Weakborn you have there Price. A runt. You dare tell me what to do? For a human? There's only one thing humans are good for. Let me remind you." He pulled your neck to the side and there was a tiny second before a sharp pain periced into the join of your neck.
"No!" Gaz went to charged again but was stopped by Prices grip and the cold metal that pressed against your head. The barrel of a gun. Amun laughed into the side of your neck and you could feel a thick line of blood start to run down your shoulder. It was caught by his tongue and he pressed his lips over the wound.
Then he started to suck. Blood rushed in your ears while he held onto you rather tightly. Price and Gaz could only watch as slowly Amun started to drain you. You knew you had to do something, but with the gun pressed against your head, you couldn't deal with that and Amun.
"Price." Your managed to get out.
"It's gonna be alright Agent." He went straight to reassuring you and Amun ripped his lips from your body to let out a laugh.
"Oh I had plans to drain your little play thing dry but, my goodness. It been a while since I tasted something as sweet as you. No, this one I think I'll keep."
"Leave them alone." Gaz growled and you could see that resolve of his slip.
"Gaz." Price's hand around Gaz's wrist tightened as the sight of the guns safety being removed. Amun resumed his meal out of you and practically hummed into the taste.
You needed to do something. The silver dagger up your sleeve was painfully iching to be used but you needed to change up the position here. Perhaps you could use Amun as a shield and you needed to stop him from feeding on you. The longer he did, the worse your body would be off. Even if he did plan on keeping you alive.
You let out a small little whimper and let your body go lip, faking a collapse. Amul was quick to catch your body a laugh as your now shut eyes. "Such little blood taken. Perhaps I was a little faster than I had thought. Or perhaps you do not practice what you preach Captain Price." He held your body and looked up to mock. "If I inspect her will I find a couple of holes that I didn't make? Or perhaps it was your Sergent here. So protective over such a delectable taste, now that I understand."
With everyone's eyes on Price and Gaz, you used your opportunity. Your fingers pulled a small strap and the knife slid down into your hand. One sudden movment had you dragging him to the ground and the knife into his chest. Being so close, it was easy to shove through the gap in his ribs directly to his heart.
Gaz and Price moved as one. Gaz snapped to the floor for his weapon and Price snatched his gun from beside him. Gunfire filled the room and you used Amun's corpse as a shield while the two men took out the rest of the room.
Eventually it went silent and the corpse was pulled from you. Price held out his hand while Gaz shoved away the body in disgust. "Risky move there Agent."
"You disapprove?"
"You used his underestimation against him and it worked. Strategicly it worked."
"But?"
"Could have backfired. Glad that it didn't." She smiled and helped you to your feet. You wiped the knife on your pants and tucked it back in your sleeve.
"Didn't know you had one of those." Gaz spoke up and you let out a hum.
"That is the idea of a secret hidden blade Sergent." You looked up and gave him a wink while you hummed. "Laswell made sure I was prepaired to get myself out of any situation-" Your voice hitched and you wobbled a bit. This time you instability was genuine and Gaz was quick to catch you.
Your hands landed on his arms while he held you up. "Captain she's still bleeding."
"Set her down for a moment. I'll patch her up then we need to go." Gaz carefully set you onto the ground and Price went for the small med-kit that was on his side. Gaz seetled next to you like Price exaimined the wound, but he also kept an eye out for any enemies.
"It's small but deep, he was experienced enough not to go for an artery. The veins busted from the looks of it but you should be fine." Price wiped it with disinfectant which caused a hiss to form on your lips and you squeezed Gaz's hand. Price was gentle in his movements, carefully raising your arms so he could secure a bandage.
"How are you feeling?" Price made eye contact with you.
"Certainly had worse. Weak though."
"Let's get you back to base. Gaz." Prices eyes made contact with his and Gaz started to pull you up.
"Can you stand?" He asked and you let out a small sound.
"Feel a bit lightheaded but yeah." You braced your self on his and this brows narrowed for a second.
"Here let me carry you, it will be easier." You nodded and he bent down. Gaz picked you up without effort and you held on around his neck. "Comfortable?"
"Didn't know you were that strong Sergeant."
"Could carry you easily even when I was human." He gave you a light smile and you rest you head against his chest. "I got you."
-
Back at base, Price directed Gaz to medical while Price informed you he needed to give Laswell a call. The nurse had paused when she saw the pair of you and Gaz explained you had lost blood. She didn't ask too many questions but checked your levels and hooked you up to an IV.
"Just to get fluids in you, you didn't lose too much. Only a few pints, your body will take care of it." She explained as you settled into the hospital bed. With a smile she left the room. With complete privacy, it was only you and Gaz.
"Thanks for helping me out Gaz. Can't have been easy carrying me all thay way."
"Ah it's no biggie. Our muscles don't work the same that your does. Sure there's the added strength but you know how when you carry something for a really long time and you start to ache even though it's not that heavy?"
"Yeah?"
"Don't get that. Trust me it was fine, I'm just happy your alright."
"Mm sure Price would be a pain getting a new handler." You laughed.
"Of course, they wouldn't be you. Think we all warmed to you."
"Aww Garrick, thanks it means a lot." You stretched a little bit paused when you tugged on the IV. "If it means anything, I've warmed to you too." You blinked and Gaz gave you a rather kind smile. "Come sit with me." You shuffled to the side of the bed and his brows raised.
"You sure? Don't think the nurse would be too happy with that."
"Ah, what is she gonna do? Kick me out? Come here." You patted the bed and a moment later he followed you instructions and climbed on. Gaz took up more space than you expected and the pair of you were soon shoulder to shoulder. He shuffled a bit and wrapped his arm around you.
"Smaller bed than I thought."
"I can get off if you changed your mind."
"Nah, your good. Your warm." You pressed your face into the side of his chest at the realisation and you felt him let out a breath. “Like really warm, I thought you lot were supposed to be cold.”
“Think Price said our bodies were like incubators?” He didn’t sound to sure on the fact himself.
“What?”
“Yeah so if you put something cold in us it stay colds but if you put something warm in it stays warm?”
“Your housing insulation? Gaz that's hilarious.” You laughed into him before you let out a little yawn. Your laugher continued and he let out his own little laugh.
“Hey, rest up.” He looked down at you. “You look pretty tired.”
“Thats what happens when you become someones afternoon snack.” You shuffled slightly to get more comfortable and shut your eyes. Ever so slowly, sleep took you.
-
When you awoke once more, the room was rather dark and a light emitted from the hallway. Your position had changed a little and you had cuddled into his chest. Despite the sleep that remained in your casually waking form, you could feel that your body was far more awake. The IV had been removed from your am and you were left with a little plaster. Your bandage around your shoulder had been replaced and now only had a plaster in its place.
With a little groan, you rolled your head around and Gaz move a little next to you. "Hey welcome back to the land of the living." You were a little stunned to hear his voice.
"You're awake?"
"Yeah, been uh keeping an eye on everything." He looked away and you could have sworn he sounded a little embarrassed.
"Protecting me in my sleep? My hero." You teased with a smile and his eyes returned to yours with a roll. His lips were curved upwards and you gave him a light punch on the shoulder. "I appreciate it, Garrick. With everything thats happened it's nice to know you have my back. Even if it's me who's supposed to have yours."
"I mean we're a team right?"
"But-"
"Team, we got each other. Speaking of they did some blood tests while you were out. Doc recon's your levels should be back to normal, honestly dunno why they have discharged you yet."
"Maybe it's because there was a big scary vampire watching over my shoulder." You gave him a wink at your tease. He huffed and pretended to be tired of the situation but you could see the smile he couldn't hold back. "Speaking of, when was the last time you had something to drink?"
"Price sorted me out earlier don't worry." He gestured to an empty to go coffee cup on the side table behind him.
"Price saw us like this?"
"Yeah, you were all cuddled up like I was your teddy bear. Pretty cute not going to lie." It was his turn to tease you and you let out a groan.
"So much for professional image."
"Ah come on Agent, no one's had that overly professional vibe since you caught Soap with his pants down."
"Why you were playing strip poker at 3am goes beyond me."
"We-"
"Gaz I don't wanna know. In fact I'd be happy if we never brought that up ever again."
"Ah your just pissed cause you weren't invited. Don't worry you can get in on the action next time."
"Next time? There better not be a next time."
"Come on, you got to give it a go. It's fun."
"Glaz if you wanted to see me strip you can just ask."
He practically choked on his own breath, what was meant to be a tease had a far stronger reaction then you had expected. He looked away and at that moment you realised the effect you had on the man. Slowly your fingers reached up to his jaw and he slowed when you made contact.
"Kyle." You whispered his name and he turned to face you, so incredibly close. Your hand caressed his face and your thumb slowly ran across his bottom lip. Gaz's eyes locked with yours and you felt the most subtle gentle kiss against your thumb, testing the waters.
"My lips are down here Garrick."
He didn't need to be told twice. Immediately his warm lips were pressed down against yours. Like a ruptured dam, he didn't cold back. Lost in in your lips, he moved to the side and mounted on top of you. His arms braced next to your head while yours wrapped around his neck and pulled him against you.
Gaz everytislly pulled back a little, his forehead pressed against your while out panted slightly. "I'll admit I've been wanting to do that since the moment I saw you." He wet the bottom of his lips and beamed at you.
"Yeah? Then why'd you stop?" That sentence was all it took for his lips to be pressed against yours.
Time seemed to pauce around you and you were lost in your little world until a knock on the wall snapped the pair of you out of it. Gaz rolled off you to the side and your eyes went wide when they locked on to Laswell's.
"Mind if I have a moment Kyle?" He looked a little sheepish as he nodded and climbed off the bed.
"Uh, go for it." He gave you one last giddly smile and left the room.
"So you and Sergent then?" She looked over her shoulder for a moment and you let out a small cough.
"Uh, recent development."
"As long as it doesn't interfere with your duties." Her voice trailed off and you nodded.
"Of course." She sat down the side of the bed with a folder in her hands.
"This is the lab results."
"For what?"
"Even though there was no intention, there's always the slightest possibility that theres a slow acting venom inside of you. Either to kill or change you."
"Gaz said they did some test, I presume that's what you were testing for?"
"Yes, they came back negative but I must stress the importance of being careful in the future."
"I'll try not to get bitten by the enemy ma'am."
"Just as bad as those boys." She tsked. "Never the less, I'm glad to see your alright."
"You didn't have to come all the way down here. I'm fine."
"Just because you can handle your own doesn't change the fact your my responsibility."
"Laswell, I'm okay."
"Let's keep it that way Agent."
"Yes ma'am."

Daddy's Home
Pairings: John Price x afab nb!Reader [Reader has had top surgery in this drabble]
CW: Daddy Kink, Breeding, Spanking, Cunnilingus
Word Count: 1,989
A/N: This chapter was SUPPOSED to be out ages ago. Then my partner called me and got me completely side tracked for 2 hours, whoops. This was a super self-indulgent one for me so I really enjoyed writing it :)) I hope y'all enjoy it too. Also I don't think I mention Price's beard at ALL in this and that's a travesty in and of itself, I'm sorry.
Tumblr media
You had spent a few hours waiting on the couch, your eyes locked on the TV. Though, you weren't really playing attention. You were waiting for the front door to open, and for your partner, John, to walk through the door.
He had been on deployment for a few months now, though you were never allowed to know the details of each deployment. Only when he was leaving, and when he would be back. Despite knowing the approximate time of when he would be returning home, you always spent the days of his return in a frozen state. Not really able to make yourself do anything until he finally walked through the door.
This time though, you forced yourself to start working on dinner. You pushed yourself off of the couch with a slight hum before making your way over to the kitchen. The first thing you did was put on your music, hoping that it would distract your brain enough to not be staring at the door letting the food burn.
Soon, you had successfully busied yourself, bopping around the kitchen to your music as you waited for the noodles to cook. You figured you couldn't go wrong with a simple spaghetti. Not too hard to burn if you got distracted, and easy enough to eat quickly if John had other plans for you once he got home.
You didn't hear the front door open and close over your music, so when you stopped to stir the noodles in the pot of boiling water and felt John's strong arms wrap around you, you jumped. The reaction earned a low, rumbling chuckle from his chest as he peppered kisses along your neck and jawline. "Hello sweetheart," his voice was low and rough. You could tell he was tired, but you also knew from the hardness pressing against your ass that neither of you were sleeping anytime soon.
"Hi daddy," you respond, your voice barely above a whisper, but holding the seductive edge that drew him crazy.
"Hurry up and finish cooking dinner so we can have some fun, yeah?" He hums as he continues to assault your neck and jawbone with kisses and gentle nips.
You nod in response and thankfully, the noodles are done. You drain the water into the sink and then dump the sauce into the pot, making quick work to plate you both the meal and taking it to the dinner table.
- - -
After cleaning up dinner, John had immediately picked you up. Your legs instinctively wrapping around his waist and your arms around his neck. His hands fall to rest on each of your ass cheeks, gripping at the supple flesh to earn a quiet moan from your lips. He didn't bother to take you to the bedroom, instead he sat you down on the dining room table. His eyes wander across your body, taking in everything about you, everything he loves.
You were wearing one of his old t-shirts and your favorite pair of underwear. It was something you wore around the house often when you didn't have much to do for the day, but it always drove him insane. His hands moved your hips as he sat you on the table, making their way under the band of your underwear to grip and knead your soft skin. Once his hands were on you, he couldn't get enough. The way your soft skin felt against his calloused hands. You couldn't get enough either, the way his rough fingers trailing against your skin sent shivers through your body.
With a simple movement, he pulled you to the edge of the table. Your dripping core now pressed against the hardness restrained by his pants. You never needed much work when he first came home, your desire for him arousing you enough itself, but he never went without getting you properly worked up. His hands moved from your hips, slowly up to your chest. His fingers gently traced along your top surgery scars, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips. The thought of how happy you were once you had gotten the surgery done, running around the house with nothing but underwear on like he often did, made him beyond happy. After a moment, he pulls off your shirt, placing a gentle kiss on your lips as it gets dragged up over your head.
"I love you, darlin'," he says huskily as he pulls away, moving to place kisses on your neck. As he works his way down your neck and to your collar bone, he begins to leave hickeys where only you two could see them. 'Our little secret, pet.' he would say after your first few times together.
Your hands began to trail up his arms, feeling his hair and muscle definition underneath the pads of your fingers. It was always like this when he first came home - as if you two were relearning each other's bodies, feeling each other like it was your first time together again. Your hands made their way up to his shoulders before you began to drag them down the front of his chest. When you reached the hem of his shirt, you tugged it off of him, throwing it to the floor with your own for the two of you to pick up in the morning.
His hands began to make their way back down to your hips, where he tugs your underwear off, tossing them haphazardly to the side with everything else. He kneeled down, throwing your legs over his shoulders. One hand moved to rest on on your hip, the other circled around your thigh to allow his hand easy access to your throbbing core. His thumb dipped down to spread your folds, your wetness already visibly leaking onto your thighs. "Hmm, look how ready my pet already is for me," he hums, dragging his thumb back up to circle around your clit.
"Always for you, daddy," you huff, your breath getting caught in your throat as pleasure began to course through your body.
A small chuckle escaped his lips before he moved to lick your entrance, letting his tongue flick over your sensitive bundle of nerves. You let out a quiet moan, your hands moving to intertwine with his hair. "Fuck," you breathe out as he continues his assault, throwing your head back.
"Watch your words, pet," he murmurs before slipping his tongue into your opening. Despite his warning, you weren't going to listen, knowing it would earn you a firm slap to the ass while he buried his cock in you later.
He continues to work his tongue inside you, his finger circling your bud. As your moans grew louder, he kept his pace, knowing that your impending orgasm was building in your core.
"Ah fuck daddy," you moan out, letting your head fall forward to look at him, "I'm close."
When his eyes meet yours, he pulls his tongue out of your entrance, flicking it across your clit. That was all he needed to do to send you past the point of no return, waves of pleasure coursing through you as your legs instinctively tried to close on either side of his head. He attached his lips to your clit, sucking lightly to help you ride out your orgasm. When you were trembling at the action, he finally pulled away, licking his lips.
"Hm, what did I say about watching your words, pet?" he coos as he stands up.
"Sorry daddy, it just felt so good," you say sheepishly in return, but he knew all too well that you weren't. A chuckle rumbles through his chest as he picks you up again, carrying you to the bedroom.
"On all fours," he states as he sets you down on the bed, and you do as your told. You get comfortable on the bed so your face is against the cool pillow, ass in the air to present yourself to him. "Look at daddy's obedient slut," he hums happily as you hear the buckle of his pants, soon followed by the fabric hitting the floor. You try and push your ass higher in the air in response, earning a chuckle from your other half. "Such an eager pet, and look at that pretty little cunt."
You felt the weight on the bed shift as he climbed on, coming up behind you. You jolt slightly as you feel his hand connect firmly with your ass, but the pain soon turns into a pleasurable sting.
The feeling of the tip of his cock rubbing against your folds causes you to push back onto him, but his hand is quickly pressed against your rear to stop you. A soft series of tuts can be heard from him before he says, "Be patient pet, you'll get what you want." Which only causes a whine to escape your lips as the need for him to be inside you grows. He had always been a little bit of a tease, but he easily made up for that.
As he lines his tip up with your entrance, he snaps his hips forward, sinking his full length into you in one stroke. You felt your mind go hazy as you let out a loud moan.
He started slow, thrusting into you patiently and deliberately, quiet groans and huffs of air escaping his lips as he watched you take all of him. "Such a good pet, you look so good taking all of daddy's cock."
As his pace picked up, you felt the haze in your mind go stronger. It dwindled your brain down to be a good submissive slut for daddy, no other thoughts daring to enter your head. Another firm slap on your ass has you babbling mindless nothings, pushing yourself back to meet John's strong thrusts.
"Hm, look at how needy my darlin' is, are you gonna take daddy's cum like a good slut?" he growls as he leans down against you, his chest blanketing your back with warmth. You nod eagerly in return. "Your words, pet," he coos.
Somehow, you manage to get out a mumbled "yes daddy," earning a smile from him. He straightens back out, his thrusts now becoming as strong and as fast as he could make them. Now hitting your sweet spot with every thrust, both of your orgasms growing in unison.
"Gonna let daddy come inside you and breed you like the good pet you are?" he groans, his hips beginning to stutter.
"I-I'm close," you pant out, burying your head fully into the pillow.
"Come with me pet, come with daddy," he encourages. The way his voice is so breathless and needy for you sends you over the edge for the second time tonight, your walls squeezing his cock as you tremble. Waves of pleasure crashing over your body.
John continues to thrust into you, chasing his own release, and soon he joins you. He buries his cock deep inside of you as his seed flows into you, quiet groans and gasps escaping him as he milks out every last drop.
Even once you both were coming down from your high, he stayed in you, leaning over you again and nuzzling his head into your neck. "Gotta make sure it takes, yeah?" he murmurs, peppering small kisses along the crook of your neck.
You guys had talked about kids together, but you had yet to get your implant taken out. So it was all fantasy at this point.
Once he grew soft, he pulled out and you both collapsed on the bed. He laid next to you on his side, wrapping his arm around you and pulling you so your back was against his chest. "I love you," he mutters as he buries his head in your neck again.
"I love you too," you whisper back, your voice hoarse from the encounter. It's not long before you're both drifting off to sleep.

V0lks are my favourite company and I’ve always loved d0llfie dreams. I joined this hobby too late for the original Len release, could never afford the ludicrous aftermarket prices and thought owning him was a pipe dream, so when they rereleased him I was over the moon. Made a countdown to the release and everything. Before he released the preorder Kaito did, but I wanted to open kailen together so I waited for Len. When Len finally arrived, I felt more excited than I’d ever been since I joined the hobby.
I was so disappointed I could cry. V0lks, what happened? The quality on these two was so below standard. My previous dolls were not like this. Kaito’s wig is a travesty and looking online this is a common complaint. It’s like they hacked it into style with a machete in the dark. Maybe it’s salvageable. But Len? I’ve never seen a wig this bad, ever. This wig is completely unuseable. It’s frizzy, badly cut and half the fibres are actually melted. Imagine my horror when this complaint was common online. Imagine my further horror when v0lks made a blog post addressing the issue which basically saying ‘idk git gud’ and that we had to somehow style this melted plastic frizz into something on our own. I look at photos from Len’s original release, I look for owner experiences and none of the original 2016 wigs were like this.
If this is the quality I can expect for a $700 doll then I don’t know if I can still call this my favourite company. It’s completely dampened my desire to get any more preorder dolls. I saw someone on dolldreaming say that the more limited quantity dolls don’t tend to have these massive QC errors and it seems to be true. For everyone who hopes for DD releases to be preorders instead of clickwar or lottery, be careful what you wish for. I’d rather a more limited chance at a more quality product than a guaranteed chance at something that should never have passed QC. I haven’t really done anything with Len since opening him because I’m so upset my grail was such a massive disappointment. I know the rest of the doll is fine and I could get him a new wig, but I don’t even know where to look, and I just wanted him to be Len.

"The end of Anne Boleyn marks the more sinister transformation in Henry's kingship which underlay his solemn protestations of spiritual headship and godly reform. Nobody could now call him to account in the sacred or secular realm, and although it goes too far to say that his will was law, since some respect was still due to the judicial process, the legal travesty of Anne's trial and execution shows what his unchecked authority could achieve. It also illustrated the forces which Henry had unleashed by breaking with Rome. From this point onwards, political division would be matched by a level of ideological division previously unknown. Anne had been backed by those who supported religious reform and sneered at papal pretension; her fall was hastened by the efforts of those whose loyalties lay with Princess Mary and the Catholic past. Cromwell had slipped adeptly (and temporarily) from the former group to the latter, and such political reinventions were to remain common, but many continued to be fired by strong religious convictions, allowing religious division to exacerbate political tensions to a dangerous extent." (Henry VIII, Lucy Wooding)
+
"For all Henry's protestations of the contrary, the atmosphere at his court in his final years was almost as unsettled and claustrophobic as during the Wars of the Roses. John Husee answered the charge that he no longer sent reports of state affairs to the Lisles by explaining, 'I thereby might put myself in danger of my life...for there is divers here that hath been punished for reading and copying with publishing abroad of news; yea, some of them are at this hour in the Tower.' Civil order was maintained, but only because Henry sold the bulk of the confiscated monastic lands at rock-bottom prices to willing purchasers to create a whole new class of property-owners with a vested interest in the status quo. Spies and informers stalked the country, safe-conducts were needed to travel abroad and the posts were intercepted-- no one felt completely safe." (Hunting the Falcon, Fox&Guy).
#yeah...this was the watershed moment#this is why these three are the tudor historians i tend to reccomend the most; they have the clearest vision of tudor politics imo#it wasn't the gm which was the turning point that made court divisions worse than ever before. it was may 1536- which made this a reality#things that make you go hmmm.#and i do agree with fox/guy here but i think they argued this better with different examples in different sections#(the atmosphere which led to rebellion; etc.#the Lisle quote is a good piece to support this argument#but spies and informers in the country and safe conducts needed is...slippery#this was also the case during his father's reign. and edward iv's. and many abroad. so . like... )#and i do think the 'almost' is also key here. i wouldn't agree with this at certain points . or 'as much' which has been argued.#bcus for all the conflict hviii did avoid civil war. so...#it isn't to say all was or would be rosy had anne remained queen either. but it is to say as wooding argued...#that this shattered his image and credibility and no one escaped. like...i think it's just interesting to think about#how the exeter conspiracy would've shaped out in the context of the boleyn faction's survival. and how interesting it is#that all their enemies perished at the expense of this man's paranoia . that they had to face the fate they believed their own#enemies deserved...the same scaffold. the same terror .#also some of the jury who condemned them facing execution soon themselves#all just very indicative of how cutthroat courtier ambition was#you could hack and hack and hack away at all the vines but it still might not prevent them from growing back and strangling you instead

A retrospective on Super Paper Mario
(Nintendo Wii, 2007) 4/5 Stars
Super Paper Mario, in many ways, is THE prime example on how to NOT make an RPG.
And yet, it’s also one of the greatest stories ever told in a videogame, ever. Let me explain.
To truly understand Super Paper Mario and how this utter travesty of a gameplay experience came to have such a profound impact on those who suffered through it, we need to look beyond the sales, beyond the anti-fans and Dimentio-stans. We need to go right back to the very beginning. Today, I’ll tell you a story of a long-forgotten game…
Once upon a time, Nintendo, after the success of the first, decided to create a brand-spanking-new Mario RPG. And so, Paper Mario was born. It was a pretty quiet entry to the massive Mario conglomerate, being released late into the Nintendo 64’s lifespan. Nevertheless, early reviewers praised its unique style, characteristic charm and easy-to-understand mechanics. These core elements would soon become the basis for a much bigger, much grander sequel – Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door! It was a smash hit with fans from every angle, and still sells for ridiculous prices today because of its – well, – sheer greatness. The wit, the mechanics, the story, the graphics! Suffice to say, Paper Mario games had gained a strong foothold with fans. They craved more. Who could blame them?
So, Nintendo did the logical thing (obviously). On the 9th April 2007, they bestowed upon us the eagerly anticipated sequel, the culmination of every hit in the series so far! (Drumroll, please)
Super Paper Mario!
…I’m going to be frank with you, dear reader. Super Paper Mario is, undoubtedly, a flawed game. The controls are limited to the Wii remote’s 4 directions (yes, no c-stick support in a partly 3D game – the horror!), the geometric aesthetic can get old after a while and the pacing makes it, so you’d rather crawl into hell than go back to speak to Jasperoid again to get an unnecessarily long password that takes ages to input because the controls are do damn slow and clunky!
If you know, you know.
In short, it’s a hot mess. Even without considering the clear omission of the turn-based battles from previous titles, its clear that this game does not – and will not – ever compare to its predecessors when it comes to gameplay.
And yet? It doesn’t actually matter. This game shouldn’t even be a Mario game, probably. I bet if it was just some regular, one-off, weirdo game with some other rando on the title, nobody would criticize its flaws as much as they do. But because it’s got ‘Paper Mario’ on the title, it’s suddenly subject to a heck ton more grief (it’s a member of the Mario family, capish?).
How come I like it so much, then? So far, I’ve only been complaining about it! Well hold on to your Wii remotes, dear readers. To truly (truly) understand Super Paper Mario, I’ll tell you a story of the lost book of prophecies. It is a tale of love…
(Yes, that is how the game starts, stick with me, guys!)
The people who have played this game to completion will tell you: it’s a wild ride. Mario has never been so anime (and I personally adore it). If you don’t want to be spoiled for the ending of this over 15-year-old game, then here’s a short summary:
‘Mario, Peach, Bowser and Luigi travel through multiple dimensions ‘Rick and Morty’-style with a butterfly (and friends) to stop an evil, depressed vampire man and his cronies from destroying every reality with a world-ending black hole born out of ‘forbidden love’.
…TL;DR: Peach and Bowser get married; hijinks ensue.’
So… if that wasn’t enough to convince you, I don’t know what will. Stop reading, play it, then come back for the epic conclusion to my review.
…What did you think? Did you cry? Yeah. We all cried. It’s just that kind of game.
Its darker moments are, surprisingly, some of the most engaging aspects of the story: The actual deaths of characters, the deletion of entire worlds – they’re some of what people most fondly remember about this 100% very cheerful little game. I always found it very character-driven, and it somehow manages to touch on more serious topics with a gentle maturity that you wouldn’t really expect from a 3+ kid’s game.
A character’s story I personally feel is overlooked is the token dim-witted himbo O’Chunks. He’s one of Count Bleck’s main cronies and the first actual boss of the game. He’s written to be a funny, crude character who shouts hilarious catchphrases like ‘GRAH-GOOGLY’ and farts himself away when he’s beaten. At first glance, he’s the epitome of ‘kids-game humour’, and for the most part, he is.
Then Chapter 5-2 happens.
Tumblr media
Just a reminder: this is a MARIO game.
This made me stop and stare when I first played. The moment was short-lived, of course – gotta keep that age rating down! – but I was still astonished that this game even attempted to address such mature themes, and with the token dimwit comic-relief! But it doesn’t end here, folks! May I gently remind you, dear reader, that this outlandish codge-up of a game is also…
…a love story?
As hopeless as the game can feel sometimes, what with the total obliteration of Sammer’s Kingdom, or the devilish Mimi’s enslavement of Mario and Co. to pay off their crushing debt (that one hits a little too close to home), Super Paper Mario is bursting at the seams with positivity and encouragement. Whether it be Tippi’s overwhelming gratitude for Mario and friends after her rescue releasing one of the seven Pure Heart maguffins, or the beautiful climax of the game – Tippi and Count Bleck’s own wedding – Super Paper Mario is a game about friendships, a whole heap of other comedic and heart-warming moments I didn’t have room to mention, and – most importantly – love.
Super Paper Mario, in many ways, is THE prime example on how to NOT make an RPG.
But it’s also one of the comfiest, darkest, over-the-top and most daring stories I’ve ever played. I’d whole-heartedly implore anyone looking for a charming story, and maybe even a bit of a cry, to give this tale a try…
…just don’t play it if you’re looking for good gameplay, K?

I know everyone has their ‘nintendo franchises that are never coming back and it’s a fucking travesty’ list and i know that fangames and spiritual successors do exist but I still feel the need to scream about this so here’s my personal list of nintendo ips that I’ll nut if they ever decide to revisit
panel de pon/puzzle league - this is the biggest one for me personally, like it is such an ideal fucking form of the block puzzle genre that it is a crime that nobody else can just make one of those legally.  the version of it that they perfected by about the gbc-era pokemon puzzle challenge should just have been rereleased as-is on every nintendo system like so many of their other games like i would actualy have paid 40/60/whatever dollars for each one every single time like tetris or puyo puyo or fucking any of the other million franchises that get incremental updates every three years or so.  the ds game was an incredible stride forward too like the touch controls are such a natural fit for the style of puzzle game but because they directed intsys to completely file off the personality of the game it didn’t sell well and now the franchise is dead.  it makes me SO MAD
chibi robo - dude when i first read the plot summary for the fan translation of the DS game (the sequel, usually called “Clean Sweep” due to the patch name but its actual name is much longer) I cried real tears.  You’re just a li’l robot guy!  You go around this poor family’s house and do your li’l chores and make them happy!  And then I played it and it was at first much less emotional than I felt reading the summary and much weirder and goofier than i expected and then i played it some more and the emotions came back and hit me like a fucking truck.  The original on gamecube is really good too but the DS sequel (which takes place in the next generation like Jenny the kid from the first game is the mom in the sequel which!  wow!  Jenny Sanderson Autistic Icon with the Frog Outfit who Only Speaks In Ribbits becomes Single Mom living a hard but happy life with her son she had out of wedlock!  THIS IS SO FUCKING GOOD WHY DON’T MORE PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT THIS (yes the stuff with the literal devil would not play to an american audience in the mid 2000s i know BUT STILL)).  Nintendo basically torched the franchise by trying to go all in on Chibi Robo as a cute li’l mascot robot guy instead of doubling down on the weird parody of 2000s Americana and Toy-Story adjacent lore they had going on and it’s SO.  AGGREVATING.
earthbound - you already know what it is but like, this one I actually get it.  Itoi told the stories he wanted to tell, it’s over, he doesn’t want to make any more, and we should respect that.  BUT.  Tell me a full remake in the style of Link’s Awakening with the toy-like aesthetics but leaning heavier on the claymation models used in the promo material wouldn’t do goddamn gangbusters.  Seriously.  Is it pandering?  YES.  Would I drop 60 bucks on it without thinking for more than 0.2 seconds?  YES.
Elite Beat Agents/Ouendan - I’m actually okay with Nintendo not revisiting this franchise for a few reasons - the DS was really the ideal vehicle for it, the OSU fan community is wild and vibrant even if I don’t go there, and it’s just not the same playing with fingers or a mouse as it is with the stylus.  However.  They could make a just dance knockoff using the joycons to track hand positions and put their funky guys in suits up on screen and I’d probably still go ‘y’know what for the price of their B-tier catalogue games? I’ll give it a shot’
Kid Icarus - I’m not even going to go into this one in full detail we both know we’re not getting another one until 2037
Punch Out!! - actually I think we can leave this one behind it’s, uh, kind of driven by cultural caricatures.  the boxing is good and seeing someone speedrun one of these blindfolded fucking rules but.  there’s an irishman named Aran Ryan.  maybe we should just keep moving.
Warioware - I’ve recently been playing through Warioland 2 and I can confidently say that I could write an essay and record it on video about how this game’s level design is ahead of its time.  Nintendo’s platformer repertoire includes sprinklings of puzzle elements here and there, but more recently they’re all pretty firmly in the realm of ‘skill-based’ platforming with puzzle elements primarily as a gate to accessing bonus materials or collectibles.  Warioland is the reverse of this - in some cases you literally cannot fuck up too terribly, as Wario is too powerful to die.  There’s some occasional tedium (Warioland 2 in particular is structured such that you can’t get hit by bosses even once or you have to start over, which Sucks Very Much) but it’s really a design philosophy that I think is worth revisiting.
Freshly Picked Tingle’s Rosy Rupeeland - no I think we’re done here

Two for the price of one!!
What a travesty!! I forgot to publish my football correspondent’s masterly report on our victory at Luton. SHAME on me!! But first, you will have to read his thoughts on our lamentable performance against Fulham…
Tumblr media
hi - united have done well recently but with the exception of the 3 goal victory v west ham the general feeling has been that united have been winning in spite of themselves and that success has been largely due to the deficiencies of the opposition and a bit of Lady Luck
fulham are poor travellers and have not won away since the opening day and last won at united in 2003 so despite the loss of shaw and hojlund due to injury one felt united would have enough to win
united made a slow start and similar to recent opponents fulham had a lot of the ball and created some opportunities which were either squandered or required onana to make some good saves - at the other end debutant forson was not having much of an impact but neither were senior pros like rashford and fernandes - united had rashford at no.9 and garnacho on the left and forson on the right - if it were down to me i'd have had mctominay as a straight replacement for hojlund but mr ten Hag disagreed
the match meandered into the 2nd half and half way through fulham forced a corner - the cross went over lindelof and was headed by bassey into the body of a colleague - bassey pounced on the rebound and smashed in the opener
united tried to rouse themselves but in truth didn't look like scoring - i was saying as much to a fellow fan when Fernandes crossed and leno pushed it aside only for the lurking maguire to equalise on 89 minutes - with 9 minutes of stoppage time to be added on it seemed written in the stars that a trademark late winner would arrive
it duly did and the celebrations on the field were joyous and prolonged - unfortunately the majority of the crowd did not share the same feelings because it was the visitors who found the net - a united attack had petered out when lindelof miscontrolled in the box though he prevented a fulham goal kick by putting the ball out for a throw near the corner flag - a long throw found traore who sped away from eriksen and maguire and raced into the united half - he found iwobi at the corner of the box - a clever jink made space and he clipped the ball into the corner past the wrong footed onana -
thats the trouble with late goals the opposition can score them as well - united have won this way at fulham a couple of times in the recent past - this time the boot was on the other foot - i also recall united levelling against palace thru dan james after 89 minutes only for van aanholt to grab the winner
no one was bad for united - trouble was that no one was good - it was all bang average and another let down for the supporters whose hopes of a top 4 finish had been raised only to be undermined yet again by a hugely underwhelming performance
post match ten hag praised his players for their character and spirit and that the bigger picture looked good - maybe he or i need to go to  specsavers
in midweek it is the cup at forest followed by city on sunday - a win in the former and a loss in the latter seems probable -defeat in both might have jim ratcliffe contacting someone like graham potter - we shall see
bye
—————————-
Tumblr media
hi - thus far in 2024 results have been kind to united and they have yet to taste defeat - luton promised to be a venue where united ought to achieve the victory that is necessary if top 4 ambitions are to be realised
luton kicked off and their first attack was repelled when casemiro whacked an aimless clearance downfield - defender bell tried a backpass but made a complete hash of it and hojlund collected, drove forward and drifted wide of the keeper before making it 1 - 0 after 30 odd seconds
a few minutes later a garnacho shot from a corner was cleverly diverted into goal by hojlund's chest and united were 2 up - it was reminiscent of the fast start at newport
unfortunately just like at newport united allowed the opposition back in the game - luton halved the deficit on 14 minutes - luton pressed and harassed united - an unsettled casemiro gave away numerous free kicks and may have been red carded - just like at newport united were grateful for half time
luton dominated possession in the 2nd half but it was united who made - and squandered - all the chances - garnacho, fernandes and dalot all just had the keeper to beat but failed miserably - keeper saved well from rashford - fernandes also shot wide when just faced by the keeper -luton hit the top of the bar with a header from the last corner of the game - united hung on fairly comfortably as onana didn't have to do much after the early flurry of goals - luton had huffed and puffed but couldn't blow united's house down
so another win for united but there are still concerns to be addressed - it is a strange thing to say but the time to worry as a united fan is when the team takes a 2 goal lead - sensible game management is absent as 11 individuals try to get into the scoring act - it is frustrating as the same pattern is repeated - it seems an impossible dream that united will be able to shut up shop and see out a 2 - 0 win
on a positive note mainoo was marvellous - always cool, calm, composed and collected - evans performed splendidly as a 2nd half sub
in a couple of weeks it is city away - would i take united having a 2 - 0 lead - oh yes i would - as long as they came after 89 and 90 minutes that is
bye

143 - the f11 button is out to get you
stream
guys, it was my fault. i am not an electrical/hardware/computer engineer. just someone with a computer science degree. i did not know that i was supposed to plug the cable into the wan port. anyways, good stream today. i actually somehow left lies of p on a moment where i was just about to fight an important boss. the boss was quite difficult, but eventually i learned the attack patterns well enough to perfect guard most attacks. i then defeated some lesser bosses. i don't want to spoil too much since this game is rather new.
something different
i just looked at the steam awards, and they are awful this year. well, i can at least say knowingly that one of them is tragically bad and undeserving of anything.
starfield
this game is so bad dude, and it got the award that is completely contrary to its design: most innovative. this game is the same game as the previous bethesda titles. EXACTLY the same (in terms of gameplay, which the award is based on). it is another of the bethesda games where the player wanders a realm and does things, such as side quests. oops, i made an error. the player does not do things, they do thing since the game does not have any real content outside of quests in this game. the content of each planet blends into a slurry of the same exact content since the planets actually have the same content copied and pasted everywhere with the only change being the amount of stuff on each planet. and the reason that the contents of the planets do not have the right to be called things to do is because these parts alone do not impart any actual thing to do. the places on planets are merely husks to do the quests in the game. bethesda even got space travel wrong in this game. there is literally no content in space. there are only places to go into in this game. it may as well be a glorified plane for the player to wander upon as well.
i know i am malding over what is nothing, but it is important for gamers to comprehend what is and is not good because if players do not then companies will continue to get away with things like this. i am not too sure if it was discovered late last year, but the talk about bethesda was that the company does not use game design documents. they apparently have not since 2006 with oblivion. this is simply unacceptable. the joke of calling bethesda a small indie game company is an overstatement of the work they actually do. players should not excuse companies for selling products like this and pay for them at a price point of $70.
for all the reasons that above and the reasons that i put on a previous post, i will not buy any more games developed by bethesda.
do not buy from company list anymore so far:
pokemon company
bethesda softworks
if you are wondering who i think deserved the innovative game award, i think it should have gone to lies of p. i did not play a ton of games last year that were released in that year, but i think that lies of p is actually a game that had innovative mechanics for the genre it fills. it is indeed a mishmash of different mechanics from other games like the guard and prosthetic mechanics from sekiro and dodging like bloodborne (as well as the ambience), but these are fun mechanics that the game took special spins on and added in their own way to have cool weapons with the weapon assembly system. not to mention that the game also has story based mechanics that the player interacts with. this game was leagues more innovative than starfield.
p.s. when i said that the awards were awful, i only meant starfield. but i think that the awarding was such a travesty that it warrants the entire awards being wrong.

I do think people have a point when they say that adults should be able to afford their own apartment, but I also tend to think there is nothing inherently wrong with having to have roommates as an adult, particularly in very dense urban areas. One bedroom apartments are not an incredibly efficient use of space and with the number of single childless people consistently on the rise, I think it's unrealistic to expect the supply of single-occupancy units to keep up with demand (and yes the rise of single childless people is up partially because of the lack of space but that is far from the only factor and the trend is likely to continue even in a world with an abundance of housing). There's no question that housing prices are out of control and it's unfortunate that people are having to put parts of their lives on hold, such as having a family, or have to live in situations that are severely uncomfortable/don't meet their needs (i.e. sensory needs or anything else that might come up I'm sure there are plenty of such scenarios) due to lack of adequate housing, and I completely acknowledge that. On the other hand, people who live with roommages are still housed. They have safe and stable shelter, and isn't that the fundamentally most important thing? To share housing with people who are not part of your nuclear family is not a travesty, it's actually pretty normal and a perfectly logical thing to do when you live in a city where space is precious. I have a hard time with the idea that making sure every adult can live in their very own entirely private space is a priority - the concept feels very fundamentally capitalist and American in nature if I'm being honest.
In my vision of cities in the Good Future, single-occupany or single-family units are attainable by anyone who really wants/needs one, but it's culturally very normalized and perhaps even expected to live with roommates for as long as it makes sense just to save money and save space for those who need it more. To make up for the relative lack of space in those shared private dwellings, there are lots of accessible public spaces where you can go and do all the stuff that you might not have room for in your apartment, like makerspaces and meeting places and music rehearsal spaces and so on - much more efficient than everyone having excess private space that is only for them to use, and healthier than staying in your private space alone all the time.
This pretty much only applies to dense areas. Living in a rural or outskirts area is a totally different story. I'm just trying to imagine a world where in a city of say a million people, every single adult/couple/whatever has their very own personal adequately sized space, and I'm coming up empty. Yes, abolishing real estate speculation and aggressively building upwards will go a tremendous way towards expanding the housing supply, but I feel skeptical that even that would be enough. And even if it is enough, is it really necessary? Yes roommates can be awful, but most of the time they're just fine, and I think the problem of nightmare roommates would be greatly reduced in a world with both a robust "roommates culture" where living space etiquette is very strong and well-known, as well as where housing is more abundant and it's relatively easy to move if your situation is really giving you hell. And a world where it's common for people to share space will require a lot less construction and development which is still very resource-intensive even when it's as efficient as possible, not to mention the energy needed to heat/cool/maintain each individual unit. Ok the end.

Australian Banks Make Record Profits & The Scamming Of Customers Goes On
Tumblr media
How can we have a situation where Australian banks are making record profits in the billions and we are getting scammed for billions at the same time? These scams utilise our bank accounts and banks to transfer their ill-gotten gains. “This underpinned a $2.47bn record annual profit at Qantas, a record $10.2bn profit at Commonwealth Bank and a record $7.4bn profit at ANZ, as well as a string of strong results recorded by Westpac, NAB, Woolworths, Coles and others.” (https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2023/nov/19/australian-banks-in-6bn-share-buybacks-amid-wealth-transfer-from-customers-to-investors) Is it right and just that these banks declare such enormous profits and do so little to monitor and check the illicit use of their banking services by these scammers. In fact, the banks are making money from the scammer’s use of their services. How are we the Australian people putting up with this? What are our governments and political leaders doing about this travesty? Why are we the patsies for corporate greed? Australian banks make record profits and the scamming of customers goes on.

Australians Scammed For Billions Whilst Banks & Telcos Make Money From Scammers
Similarly, what are the telcos, the communication carriers doing to halt the endless text messages carrying links to fraudulent sites purporting to be Australian businesses? “Telstra has announced a $2 billion profit in its latest full-year results. The telco announced on Thursday that profit for the year jumped 13 per cent to almost $2.1 billion while its total income rose to $23 billion.” (https://www.9news.com.au/national/telstra-profits-2023-financial-year-telecommunications/2cc5c8fb-cf58-44bb-a156-8814a10bea6b) Yes, more record profits for Australian corporations in 2023. What are they doing about the billions of dollars of scamming taking place via their networks? Shouldn’t we be asking why more is not being done to stop the scammers. Of course, Telstra and Optus make money from the scammers utilising their networks. This completely unacceptable state of affairs has been going for years now. What is the government doing about this?
Tumblr media
Banks Should Be Investing Billions in Stopping Scams Surely, some of the huge amounts of revenue generated by these banks and telcos in their oligopolies should be invested into stopping the scammers. They seem to think that they have a God given right to profit from our misfortune and do nothing about the holes in their systems. This comes from the lack of competition in the sector. What has the ACCC been doing? Yes, there is a corporate competition watchdog if you didn’t know. However the ACCC has been missing in action as far as the market goes in Australia. We have one of the greatest concentrations of market power into the hands of the few globally seen. This is why our banks and telcos can set the prices and fees we pay without fear of market repercussions.
Tumblr media
Australian Banks Make Record Profits & The Scamming Of Customers Goes On The ACCC & ATSIC Are Toothless Tigers Looking The Other Way The ACCC and ATSIC are more gladhanding corporate boy’s clubs than any sort of watchdog. These toothless tigers are too close to the action to actually do anything about transgressions. Their people aspire to being rich and being rewarded with high paying positions in the sector. Don’t rock the boat baby is their favourite tune. The financial realm in Australia is an old boy’s network where looking the other way is akin to a Masonic handshake. ATSIC generates billions from the fees it charges and rests on its laurels on this basis.
Tumblr media
Banks Victim Blaming Aussies Being Scammed Australians need to start making more noise about being the patsies for the banks, telcos, and scammers to the tune of billions. Corporate Australia turns around and blames the victims. Yes, blame those with the least amount of financial literacy! The low rates of financial literacy in this country have been encouraged by the financial sector so that they can take advantage. The financial sector in Australia is a corrupt closed shop. Aussie apathy has kept them at it for the duration. It is time to get united and start protesting the travesty being committed by the banks and telcos. Come on let’s make some noise. Can you do one where the reader is Bonnie’s twin sister and is dating Stefan ?
Tumblr media
Salvatore - Stefan Salvatore x Bennet!reader
Masterlist Link
Summary; based on the request
Warnings; making out, slight smut, fingering, swearing, threats, mentions of torture, Bonnie being an adorable protective sister, implied smut
“Shhh.” It surpassed your mouth as a rumble onto your lover’s lips, as yours stretched out into a hushed smile. He too showed an expression of happiness, as he pecked your lips, his hands sliding beneath the material of your top, soothing your back with his calloused and wise hands.
There was a problem rendering you with the necessity of being quiet, it would be a terrible travesty if anyone within the household were to hear you, giggling like a teenage girl (which you were), their Bennet curiosity swiping off their nose and leaping into action as they would surely, and most definitely, take aid to discover what it was that had you amused so.
Their opinion on the immortal men of time, that were transformed into a whole new species by one transfusion of exchanged blood, and a sentence of completed death, was not an optimal nor within preferred context. Vampires had taken so much from the Bennet witches throughout the years, that there was a stifling resentment wedged between the two.
You and Stefan were the exception, the two star crossed lovers entailed in a forbidden romance. He wasn't the enemy, but that did not mean that your sister Bonnie would be pleased with the current partner that you were adjoined by in your relationship. She'd watched Elena fawn over the green eyed charmer, it would be an utter nightmare for her to discover that you were now coiled beneath him on the rectangle of your bed, as he pressed tentative kisses along the length of your neck, smothering you with affection.
It was inevitable that your secret rendezvous would one day be revealed to all, including your sibling, however that wasn't something that you wanted to think about as Stefan's hand crept down, and over your skirt, sliding beneath the flowing material, and up the skin of your thigh. His action extracted a wisp of a gasp out from your mouth, as you pawed at his chest, distinctively staring through silence that you were keen in removing the shirt from his body.
The message was delivered as he reeled it up over his head, exposing his lean and fit body to your eyes. He continued to feather your skin with amorous touches, as he removed your panties by sliding them down your legs, shoving your skirt up so that your intimate skin was bare to his touch. “Stefan....” you whispered his name, as he slowly slid a finger into you. Your eyes fluttered peacefully shut, as his thumb coiled in a circle around your clit, for a moment it was silent, until the door opened.
“Stefan?!” Your sister repeated your words, making you instantly cover up your barren flesh, and your boyfriend to roll off you. There was digress in Bonnie’s eyes, she was severely judging you in your choice of partner, you were well aware of how her mind worked. Her arms became crossed as she rigidly shook her head, Stefan tossed his shirt back over his head, trying to make the predicament that little bit more bearable.
“Bonnie, I can explain...” it was rather obvious what was going on. An explanation wasn’t wanted nor was it needed, everything that was necessary to know was right before her face. The two of you had been caught in the midst prior to sex, which was as awkward as expected, however more so considering your sister remained glaring back and forth between you and the vampire.
“If you’re going to tell me that it’s not what it looks like, I’m calling bull on that.” She stated in an unimpressed manner. “This also means that you invited him in.” Her and Stefan didn’t hate each other, their kinds had simply been used as pawns against one another for far too long, and she hated to see you, her twin, in a cycle with a vampire, especially a Salvatore.
She had a feeling you were seeing someone, call it a fraternal thing. Though out of the entire town, it had to be one of those brothers, the brooding and dangerous siblings that survived by drinking blood and often compelled people close to them to admin their whims. “You have too much trust in people y/n.” She sighed, and she wasn’t entirely incorrect with all things considered.
“But he’s the right person to trust.” You tried to reason with her, but after all the pain that he had put the Bennet family through, it was difficult, and logically so, to believe your words. “Come on Bon.”
“No. I can hardly believe you, you went behind my back to see him, out of all people.” She spoke angrily, her tone wavering with hurt. Stefan took that as the moment that he was meant to intrude, he stood, walking towards your sister, a small and kind smile upon his face.
He appreciated her instinct to protect you, but you weren’t as naive as she thought you to be. It had taken him multiple accounts to even sway you into even agreeing going on a date with him, though he realised that all those rejections had been worth the price of pain, because he had grown significantly upon you.
“I love your sister.” The vampire informed the witch, glancing over at you with a newfound smile on his frozen in age face. Your eyes widened, the two of you had yet to exchange such words, though rather than interrupting by saying them back, you allowed him to continue speaking, despite Bonnie’s light scoff. “I know you don’t like it, but can’t you accept that she’s happy, don’t you want your sister to be happy? That’s why I’m fine my brother is with my ex, I care about his happiness above all.”
“I’m not giving you my blessing.” Her chest heaved at her statement, she was far too protective to give anyone the pass of go ahead at you. “If you hurt her, I will pierce a stake straight through your heart, though I’ll make sure you suffer first. This is not a forgiveness Stefan, as you said, every sibling wants theirs own to be happy, but if I see one tear that you are responsible for, you’ll be praying to god.”
“That is understandable.” Stefan nodded his head, Bonnie sent him one last furrow of her brows before leaving and closing the door, slipping in a few words about keeping the volume down whilst doing so. “Now where we?” He licked his lips after his enquiry, as he crawled onto the bed, and cupped your face, leaning his own down closer to your own.
“In the midst of me saying that I love you back, and that I would take not doubt my sister in the slightest Salvatore, she’ll kick your ass if you hurt me; and so will I.” He kissed you, bringing your hand up to his heart, as he stared his emerald pools into your y/e/c galaxies.
“That’s not a part of my plan.” He promised, only to suffocate your attempted response with his lips once more. You were vastly aware that you had to tone down your noise, to keep Bonnie calm. You could practically feel her stare at the wall in the living room, although you were clearly in your own room. “I plan to spend forever with you.”
“That is a complicated subject, let’s not get to that conversation just yet. I’d rather spend time with your cold body than your even paler and motionless one, Bonnie will kill you if she hears whispers of that possibility.” To sway away from the idea of being like him, you pushed the duvet away from your bottom half. “How about you spend forever between my legs, and then we’ll get back to that.”

My Name, The Review (Mostly Han So Hee)
Tumblr media
“Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves.”
- Unknown
To be upfront, I have to state that revenge stories are not my cup of tea.
I don’t personally condone the notion of revenge and once you’ve seen one revenge story, you’ve seen them all: the outcome is always the same. The Count of Monte Cristo is kind of the granddaddy of all revenge stories and it’s hard to improve - or change - on that one. But it’s always a lucrative genre - think John Wick - and so people always flock to them. Revenge is such a personal notion and one that people are always fascinated with.
You always want to know what price people are willing to pay when faced with such extreme loss.
Han So Hee’s newest drama My Name doesn’t do anything extraordinary or try to change up that old tried and true formula. There a few twists and turns in its short eight episode format but I guessed right off the bat who was responsible for her father’s murder and I felt a personal sense of vindication when I was proven correct at the end.
I’m not going to go too deep in the story because, to me, that was the weakest part of this drama. It starts off promising but rapidly gets weaker with each following episode, which is unfortunate, considering the solid premise set up by the first episode. We see Yoon Ji-woo’s life, such as it is, completely upended by the loss of her father and her increasingly desperate actions to find his killer lead her down a dark path.
I’m going to touch upon this briefly because it’s something I want to address in another post but the short format of this drama proves to be its undoing. This should have been a slow burn story - setting up Ji-woo’s circumstances, her growing bond with Pil-do and the Captain along with the rest of her squadmates, her general characterization and increasingly desperate effort of maintaining these two separate, yet conflicting identities - all of it being mostly shoved aside in favor of a bland narrative that only seems to serve as how to get Ji-woo to the next big action sequence.
It’s a travesty. I understand what Netflix is doing here with shortening the length of their exclusive kdramas and so far it’s been working - mostly. But kdramas are meant to be 16 episodes, usually, for a reason. It gives the story and the characters the proper amount of time to develop and grow and move forward in an organic way. The recent Netflix exclusives I’ve watched - Extracurricular, Squid Game, and now My Name, suffered from this problem to varying degrees but I think My Name has the worst of it. The characterization suffers, something that kdramas excel at, and the story stops being about substance and more about spectacle.
So, in short, I did not like My Name. It doesn’t live up to the strong premise set up by the first episode for the reasons I wrote about in the previous paragraphs. It does have a lot going for it - amazing acting talent, awesome OST, and top tier cinematography - but all that doesn’t make up for the lackluster story.
Choi Mu-jin ended up being my favorite character. HIs actor, Park Hee-soon, is a veteran actor and the perfect choice to play this dark criminal overlord who’s suffering from a wounded heart. His downfall throughout the series as he unravels from the consequences of events he set in motion is heartbreaking, even as you loathe the actions he takes to set things right. Just like Ji-woo, he ends up losing everything important to him, but unlike Ji-woo, you feel for his losses. I credit that to Park Hee-soon’s incredible performance; you hate him, but cannot outright call him a monster. He’s too human for that.
But what about Yoon Ji-woo? Well, that’s an interesting conversation. That’s mainly why I’m writing this. Because, as I said before, I don’t really care for revenge stories. But Han So Hee chose this as her next project and I was interested to see if she could redeem herself after her performance in the frustrating Nevertheless.
If you came here for my usual analysis or review about the other aspects of the series, I apologize: I watched this for Han So Hee. This review is going to be mainly about her.
And what did I find?
Well, let’s talk about it. But before I do, I want to emphasize that I am a fan of Han So Hee, so please do not mistake my criticism as dislike for her as an actor or person. I am critical because I know she can do better and want her to succeed in her career.
As always, potential SPOILERS ahead. Read at your own risk.
Hollow People
I’m of two different opinions when I think about Han So Hee in My Name.
The first is that she didn’t disappoint. Her transformation here is a far cry from the shy, passive Yu Na-bi in Nevertheless. Yoon Ji-woo/Oh Hye-jin/Song Ji-woo, whatever you want to call her, is a vastly different persona and one I commend her for undertaking in such a dark, heavy kdrama such as this. It takes guts to pull off a character like Ji-woo and I think Han So Hee did the best she could give.
But I found Ji-woo to be a frustrating character just like I did Yu Na-bi. And that has partly to do with Han So Hee’s performance again. I cannot say whether or not she did the character justice here. I keep changing my mind but most of the time I lean towards a solid ‘no’. But she succeeded in getting past the shadow of Nevertheless and I will always consider that to be a win.
But I wanted more. Much more. I wanted this to be a complete game changer, a career maker for her, and she fell completely short of that here.
When I think about top tier acting in kdramas about grief and revenge, I think about My Ahjussi and Hotel Del Luna - specifically about IU’s performance. She has a similar profile to Han So Hee; someone who presents an ethereal, fragile, innocent appearance and was type casted in those roles until her breakout in My Ahjussi. Her character, Lee Ji-an, was so full of dark cynicism, rage, and grief, despite being someone so young and so fragile looking, that IU was virtually unrecognizable. And her other iconic character, Jang Man-wol in Hotel Del Luna, was classy, larger than life, but at times, so consumed with revenge and hatred for those who betrayed her that you felt like IU’s small frame would burst with the force of those emotions.
I expected to see a combination of those two characters here in Han So Hee’s performance for My Name. I expected a Ji-woo who was on the outside calm, cool, and collected but, inside, screaming with pain and rage and grief from her losses.
She didn’t do that. Which leads me to my second opinion which is that she did something different from what I expected and it’s why I’m so frustrated and, yet,  intrigued by her acting here. I really want to know why she chose to portray Ji-woo the way she did.
Ji-woo is hollow. Completely empty, devoid of life, laughter, happiness, sadness, or even grief. She’s someone who has lost the last thread of humanity connecting her to this world and is going through the motions.
From the beginning of the drama, we see that Ji-woo is already burnt out from her life. She’s on the edge, one foot already hanging over into the gaping abyss, and her father’s death finally gives her that last push. Mu-jin, the criminal overlord, is the one that catches her and gives that spark of defiance inside of her new life, fanning it into a roaring fire of hatred and need for revenge. He saves her life, in a cruel, twisted way.
And after the first episode, we never see that fire again. Ji-woo is ridiculously stoic, never opening up about her life, living a spartan existence, waiting for the day when she finds her father’s killer. She follows Mu-jin’s commands religiously, never really thinking for herself, always reacting to situations instead of taking any sort of character agency.
Which is a shame because I could be writing about Yu Na-bi with that last statement. The same issue I had with Na-bi I now have with Ji-woo - they don’t do anything proactive. At all. Both are given situations and have to react to them. Ji-woo is impressive in her improvising and quick thinking, but she doesn’t plan ahead or question her orders - she just does what she’s told and moves on to the next clue in her quest.
I mean there’s that first scene where Mu-jin shows Ji-woo the gun used to kill her father. That should have been an immediate red flag. How does he know that? Was he there?
But she doesn’t think about, doesn’t even question it until the end. I know you can write it off as her being blinded by her need for revenge but she’s been questioning and probing and hunting for answers the whole time and suddenly you expect me to believe that she doesn’t question this hugely important piece of info popping up. What.
We see glimmers of that fire here and there - some with Pil-do, some with Mu-jin - in the pure unguarded moments when she actually does open up and talk about herself. But that’s it. She’s more of a character sketch than a fully developed, layered, nuanced human being. You see small instances of where there could be more but it’s never fully explored or delved into.
You see instances of sheer cunning and badassery (not just in the fight scenes) where Ji-woo is two steps ahead of the game. When she used the gun that killed her father during the raid at Mu-jin’s new meth factory? What a brilliant move. Not only did she save Mu-jin from being captured, but she also re-ignited the investigation into her father’s murder knowing that the gun would be found and analyzed. And, unknowingly, she started her path towards the truth, something that Mu-jin immediately realizes when she calls him about it. God, what a moment of ingenuity on her part.
And you never see that kind of genius again for the drama’s remaining duration.
I despise that. Ji-woo really could have been an amazing, heart wrenching, layered role and she gets reduced to being a whirlwind of fists and violence.
At the end Ji-woo acknowledges that she now knows the price for revenge.
“I have to become a monster,” she snarls. She’s lied, manipulated, lost precious people, and killed her way through dozens to get to where she stands at the end. It wasn’t worth it.
But she’s come too far.
That last fight is where I finally was impressed with her performance. But it came too little, too late. Han So Hee is amazing when gifted the chance to actually show emotion. I think it’s one of her stronger aspects that got her noticed in the first place. But then came frustrating characters like Na-bi and Ji-woo who are quiet, reserved, and ask for the performance to come from a series of physical nuances - a glimmer of the eye, a tremble in the lips, a clenched fist.
And I don’t think she’s mastered that just yet. Again, I’m looking to IU’s performances in My Ahjussi and Hotel Del Luna as setting the bar for these kind of anti-heroines. She nailed those roles.
Ji-woo really shines in the action scenes and that’s where I really got a sense of her character - reckless, head strong, fiery. She dives headfirst into the fights with an expression of anticipation that is almost welcoming. Fighting to fight, fighting to die.
Han So Hee really did well in these and I can only imagine the physical toll it took on her considering how little time she had to prepare. You almost believe that the petite, slender Ji-woo really could fight off whole mobs of thugs and hitmen. The plot really stretches that into near superhuman levels towards the end but Han So Hee’s desperately breathless performance really sells that she’s still human and can be hurt despite bludgeoning twelve guys to death in a single scene.
This sense of hollowness that pervades Ji-woo’s characterization is something I struggle with. You really sense that she is living for nothing more than to avenge her father’s death. Her apartment is bare, empty of anything resembling a personality; some water bottles, a home exercise set, a drawer containing her father’s urn and a picture of them when she was younger. She has no hobbies, no friends, no interests outside of her work and her mission. Her fashion is practical and conservative.
This is someone who’s personal tragedy has eaten up anything resembling humanity within them. Whose devotion towards setting that tragedy right is the only thing moving them forward. So the hollow, dead eyed performance of Han So Hee makes sense, right?
It would, if it weren’t for the director’s words about Ji-woo.
“I wanted this drama to be about someone who, in the process of finding themselves, loses themselves.”
Ji-woo, supposedly, loses herself in this drama.
But what does she lose? How much further can she fall? That’s the issue I take with here. Because if it’s about Ji-woo turning into a monster, then that humanity is already mostly gone. Ji-woo, for most of the drama, is an unlikeable protagonist and waiting for her to take that next step into darkness was almost entirely the driving force for me to finish this.
There’s nothing wrong with having an unlikeable protagonist, provided that you still give us reasons to root for them. The director’s previous work, Extracurricular, introduced us to Oh Ji-soo and Bae Gyu-ri; high schoolers that ran a prostitution escort service as a side business. They did terrible things to stay alive and keep ahead of the police on their trail, but you still felt for them, understood their plight, and wanted them to get out free and unscathed despite that.
That doesn’t happen at any point here for Ji-woo. At least for me. Outside of her father’s murder, I can’t find anything to like, sympathize, or endear me to her. You want her to get caught and I breathed a sigh of relief when Pil-do finally talked some sense into her.
(His line about revenge: “I was stabbing myself.” Loved that. Ahn Bo Hyun did a solid job here - I thought Pil-do was going to be an asshole, but he was surprisingly a sweet heart. I wanted more scenes of him and Ji-woo since he brought out that long buried humanity. And his chemistry with Han So Hee was palpable. Again, another missed opportunity in this drama.)
Shooting Gang-jae was supposed to be the turning point in a long, miserable process of her getting darker and more ruthless in her decision making - but it never happens. Because the drama is eight episodes. And we don’t see her build relationships with anyone at the organization outside of Mu-jin or at her official job as detective while working for the police, except for poor Pil-do. So when the reveal hits about who she really is and why she’s really there, it doesn’t hit nearly hard enough. You don’t feel bad for her, really experience that sense of loss. There’s no sense of regret or remorse for the things she does; it’s all cold, almost robotic. Which is why I don’t get that sense that Ji-woo’s losing herself throughout this journey.
She’s already gone.
Final Thoughts
Would I recommend this drama? Yes.
Despite my less than stellar review, I still think it’s worth a watch. Just don’t think too deeply about the plot holes or the poor pacing (it’s way too short and goes way too fast); don’t get invested too much in any of the characters. It’s still entertaining (the fight scenes!) enough to be an enjoyable weekend binge thanks to the solid acting, direction, and music.
For me, I wanted more. I didn’t get it. In my opinion, Han So Hee hasn’t quite found that iconic character yet that really showcases what she can do. But with the success of this drama, I’m sure other directors are eyeing her for their next project. I’m sure she’ll find it soon and I can’t wait to see what she’ll do next.
Don’t know what kdrama I’m going to post about next - there’s still the Alice in Borderland vs Squid Game analysis I want to do and then I’d like to talk more about the problems inherent in these Netflix exclusive kdramas, so I’ll still be posting here and there but I haven’t seen any kdramas being teased in the near future that really excite me.
Hometown Cha Cha Cha was the last one. Feeling a drought coming on . . .
Maybe I’ll write about some older ones that I haven’t watched yet. Who knows.
Until next time. See you all then.

The price was cheap...
Tumblr media
Here's a bit more of Tywin's process in handling the War of Five Kings.
Let me remind you now that nothing I say in this project is a defense of the Red Wedding. There is no defense of the Red Wedding. It was completely indefensible.
Tywin's attempt to rationalize the Red Wedding holds up about as well as Robb trying to explain his marriage to Jeyne. His answer is split between "the thing wasn't my idea" and "it's better to win the war earlier rather than later."
As for the supposed dichotomy between ten thousand in battle and a dozen at dinner, let's face it: they didn't win the war so much as wrecked the peace. They killed a lot more than a dozen men at that dinner, in any case.
As for the wedding massacre not being Tywin's idea: that's where I believe him. It doesn't get him off the hook. He still bears partial responsibility for the thing as he gave Walder Frey and Roose Bolton the go-ahead to do it. Partial responsibility, yes. The idea coming from him, no.
After the travesty of Whispering Wood, Tywin's entire MO for handling King Robb was to peel his allies away and let them do the work. That's what he means by "the price was cheap." It was much simpler for him to let the Freys and Boltons do what they wanted. For Tywin, the charm of the Red Wedding plan was that he wasn't doing it. He didn't have to make the arrangements. He didn't have to provide for the soldiers who went to the wedding. He didn't have to bury them. The idea didn't start with him.
